Dark Desires
-Butterfly-
With a gruff Katsuki sat down on the couch of the dark apartment. He stayed there, listening to the poor woman's words that echoed in the depressing home.
"Help me." She whined from Izuku's bedroom.
This has been going on recently. He asked his mom about this and it turns out that she would play a game with Izuku when he was smaller. She would be in some part of the house, covering herself in a blanket, and call for help. Izuku would then rush in wearing an All Might onesie and "save her."
"Hell why can't we get her a damn therapist?!" He scowled as he grabbed a television remote. His talks, or his attempts to talk with his own mother have been useless. She either gave him chores, went out to do something, or if he was loud grounded him.
*click*
"Our newest addition to the scene Mt Lady has been seen patrolling with Death Arms and Kamui woods for the past months. Rumor has it either she is getting tips from our more experienced hero, or trying to get closer to our fan favourite wooden hero!" The host woman on the screen spoke. Stupid newscast only ever wanted to report on gossip about heroes. None of them were worth it besides All Might, but not gossip, only his fights.
He looked at his phone, seeing if there was anything new about the villain that had Izuku. Peeking at his Mom's papers gave him an idea on what the thing would look like. She must have somehow managed to get a view of it when they were separated at the stadium. But that didn't explain other pictures she had of Izuku before the event.
"Argh! I'm never going to get any answers from the hag!" Just as he was about to put his phone down in anger something caught his eye, someone was live streaming a hero fight. Looking back down, it was Kamui woods battling…
"Special report! Kamui has been spotted fighting a mysterious villain and it looks like he's certainly playing the part with his quirk. Let's take a look at what online streaming is showing us now."
Holy shit
There he was, that thing possessing Izuku, taking on Kamui Woods. His mind was racing back to when he first saw it, those claws, those teeth, the black tendrils...They were just as frightening on camera as they were in person. But he did not want to take on the massive version that was breaking all the wood around itself.
"It's rare for a villain to be able to handle themselves against a pro for this long, but luckily, or unluckily for the villain Mt Lady and Death Arms have arrived! Our polls are up, who will deliver the final blow and save the teen?"
His eyes glued themselves to the television, three heroes, one villain. Every other fight he's seen it was always the same result. But could he call that a villain? It acted more than that.
Webs flew across the screen. When the camera refocused, Kamui Woods was trapped in a large web and Mt Lady was trapped. The newscast grew more and more quiet, their uneasiness building up on their fake smiles.
"W-well, looks like Death Arms may win the...polls."
Kamui yelled for Death Arms to grab the kid, which he ran away from the fight to do. Everyone was dead silent, Katsuki could feel his fight or flight instincts kicking in as the black monster crawled his way to the hero. Its mouth widened above the head of the hero showing the terrifying fangs and tongue.
"C-cut the feed...Cut the feed!"
It was too late. Her warnings were cut short as everyone watching the television saw the vomit inducing scene. They only caught a glimpse of Mt Lady ripping her arm free before the video finally cut out. Vomiting could be heard off screen as someone in the studio was losing their lunch.
*Ring*
Katsuki looked back from the tv to his phone, checking the caller id.
His mother.
*click* "What is it ha-"
"Katsuki, come home right now. We need to talk."
"The hell do you want? I'm watching Inko-"
"It's about Izuku, and what's possessing him."
That made him listen, she was finally letting him know what she knew.
"Alright, what villain thinks he can-!"
"Not a villain, come home now"
*click*
Begrudgingly, he got up from the couch stomping his way to the door. He threw it open, stepped out, and slammed it closed.
The apartment was left alone, the people on the television being the only light in the place. As those behind the screen scrambled to try and get control of potential ratings falling, a lone woman covered in a blanket made her way out of a bedroom and stood in front of the television.
"Th-the villain has escaped. If any of you have any information regarding the whereabouts of this person please report it to the police. We-...We're going straight to an announcement from the hero Death Arms about information regarding the villain attack."
Death Arms stood solemnly in front of an ambulance. A purple headed teen barely within eyeshot of the camera sitting with a shock blanket draped over his shoulders.
"From what Mt Lady and I heard from Kamui Woods before his death, he believed the words of this young man. This horrible villain isn't acting alone. He seemed to be possessing the body of someone in their early teens, green hair, eyes, and freckles."
"Izuku…"
"It's unknown if the teen is aiding or is being held against his will but if you see anyone with that description treat them as a threat and call the authorities when you are safe."
Inko grew angry, no, outright furious! Grabbing the remote with her quirk it snapped into her hand. The blanket over her fell, revealing the now skinny woman that lost so much weight.
"He...is...not..a..VILLAIN!" She screamed as she threw the remote into the television. Yelling in anger she pulled the tv off of the stand, stressing her barely used muscles, and tossed it onto the ground. Her hands glowed green as several loose items began to slowly be pulled towards her. This was unfair, her Izuku was being treated like a criminal when he was the best child someone could have!
She made a horrible choice back then, she didn't tell him how she believed how with his effort and drive he could be the best hero. Now, he was gone, left her. Well, no more, she was going to make sure that he knew how much she believed in him. Glancing to her left she saw one of his hero notebooks floating in the air.
It was what he spent most of his time on, to help him become a hero. Stretching her focus she made it float into her hand. Skimming the notes, she wanted to cry. His writing was just like his ramblings, only she could understand his thoughts.
No one else bothered to understand him. Katsuki, while helpful and beloved by Izuku, was still someone who obviously looked down on her quirkless son. Now, he was being targeted as a villain when he was obviously the best hero this world could get.
But they're rejecting him as always.
Her frustrations spiked, everything within her telepathic grasp besides the notebook in her hand began to shake in the air. One by one cushions ripped, cups shattered, all while Inko glared at the broken tv on the ground. It wasn't just the tv that was broken.
It was society.
Himiko Toga woke up with a loud yawn. The sun was spilling into her box stinging her eyes. Blinking rapidly she turned to try and get some more sleep.
Until interrupted by her stomach.
Ugh, getting food was becoming harder and harder. Now that butchers were getting wiser and disposing of their meat properly she couldn't get her second favourite meal. Stretching her sore limbs the old sac slid off her.
Ever since her friendly serial killer left her on her own she has had troubles finding a better residence. Real estate competition over boxes is surprisingly competitive.
Dusting herself off, she made herself street level presentable. Either today was going to find some wayward soul to snack on or pickpocket some stingy guy. Well, let's see if there's gullible people, or self absorbed people on the streets today.
With some excitement she began to lightly skip out of her little alley.
"Morning Peter!"
*Grunt*
Her neighbor grunted, shifting to his side. Some american hero that tried his luck in Japan after a divorce. Poor guy. She tried to stab him once for a snack but apparently his quirk warned him in his sleep.
Cheater.
Making her way to a normally busy street she was surprised to see no one walking about. Glancing both ways she saw a television store further down with an unusual crowd surrounding it.
Weird.
Skipping her way with an inquisitive eye she reached the crowd. Whatever they were watching left her with a window to grab someone if she wanted. But she started to think about not too long ago when she stopped by Izuku's former home.
If Izuku didn't play his part, then Venom would do something stupid.
Peeking over the shoulder of someone who was still taller than her, (Friggin tall people, she would stab out their shins whenever given the chance) she started to make out what was on the screen.
It was some replay of another hero fight they were watching. Some guy with sticks is leaping around a tall black…
"Oh Dang."
It was Venom, in his full form slicing and breaking each branch sent his way. Under the video was a text.
Kamui Woods Killed by New Villain
"The Villain has demonstrated complete control over their biomass, creating claws, use detachable web like material, tendrils, sharp teeth, and shown to regenerate blunt damage. No known weaknesses have been discovered but Kamui Woods did manage to buy enough time to save a local boy. In the testimony of said boy he described a young man prior to the attack warning others around and talking of a person not present. When one of the teens got too close he transformed into what you see and ate the teen. Before the villain could do more damage Kamui Woods showed up with Mt Lady and Death arms a little while afterwards. Regrettably they weren't quick enough to stop the murder of our beloved hero."
Ah geez, looks like this is it. Izuku fought Venom and now the symbiote could be eating whoever it pleases. She might have to lay even lower in case Venom views her as a potential threat or meal.
"After looking into the description given by the witness po;ice have cross examined it with missing persons and have confirmed Izuku Midoriya to be the current host of the villain. Death Arms stated to and I quote 'treat them as a threat and call the authorities when you are safe.' While our team has discovered that the boy is quirkless he is a danger and anyone who sees him should heed the heroes advice."
"That's bullshit." A woman grumbled. One of the men next to her turned his head and spoke.
"What do you mean? Obviously the kid is harboring a villain and the heroes need to put him down for what he did to Kamui!"
"You don't have kids do you? That boy must be scared out of his mind right now!"
"Tsh, quirkless kid probably jumped on the chance to feel strong even if it was from a villain."
The debate got more and more heated as more people participated. Himiko took a few steps back, watching the scene unfold before her. Everyone was getting divided over this, trying to convince the others who the real villain was.
Spotting an opportunity she decided to use this as a chance to get some food. Using what training she was given from her friendly neighborhood serial killer she became unnoticed as she slipped into the crowd.
Finding a target, she slipped a knife into their side and slurped as much as she could before someone noticed. Crawling between legs she heard a scream, causing even more chaos to transform. Just as she started to make her way to a different alley even more yelling went out before a bright light filled the air around them.
Someone just used their quirk, causing even more people to use theirs in self defense if they could.
The scene of more people getting bloodied, bruised, and broken made her feel VERY tingly. She wanted more, and the controversial topic of one Izuku Midoriya sparked this.
Himiko had to find him.
Kyoka Jiro was at home, after what her parents saw on television they demanded that she stayed home until they could figure out if she was still going to be a hero. No one wants their daughter to EVER face what they just saw. But neither of them were more conflicted than her. Is this why Izuku never wanted to meet in person? Was he trying to protect her? Was there actually a villain being hunted at her parent's show?
Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone. Seeing it was a text from Izuku she braced herself.
Izuku: Can we talk?
Izuku: Please?
Izuku: And don't tell anyone, otherwise "you know who" will do something about it.
If she ever felt like her life was in danger now was the moment. Izuku always seemed like a nice person that was dealt a bad hand in life. Now, she got a threatening text from him. She was scared, and she really didn't want to do this. But what choice did she have? If she refused what if he came over and her parents tried something?!
Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm her racing heart.
"Something wrong sweetie?" Her father asked entering the living room.
"J-just gonna call a friend and ask if they're alright." Damn, that nervous stuttering was spreading to her now!
"Good idea, people are really freaked out by this. I'm glad that despite this you're still looking out for others."
"Dad."
"No seriously, even if you decide not to be a hero-"
"Dad."
"We're not denying you your chance to be a hero! But we want you to make sure you know all the detail-"
"Dad!"
He jumped slightly at his daughter's unexpected outburst voice. Taking the time to really look at her she seemed very freaked out. Something was wrong, and he didn't know how to help.
"Sorry, I'll let you handle your call."
Given the chance to escape Kyoka ran up the stairs to handle her situation. Leaving the father of the house to stand alone, unsure of how to help his daughter. He would talk to his wife about it, and afterwards, he would just have to do his best.
Now that Kyoka was alone in her bedroom she locked the door and held her phone in her hand. Her thumb hovered over the phone icon, shaking, unsure of how to proceed. Taking a gulp to clear the amount of spit in her mouth the hesitantly pressed the button.
It was calling.
Oh my gosh it was calling. Why couldn't she notice sooner. He had control over that quirk of his and she recognized it the moment it was on screen.
*ring ring*
What was he gonna say? Was it demands? Ransom?
*ring ring*
Did he want her to be an accomplice in eating people?!
*ring ring*
Was he trying to make her into a cannibal queen for his villainous empire?!
*Click*
*sniff* "h-hi"
What? Was he crying?
"H-hey. You wanted to talk?" She tried to sound caring, but she was still scared and confused about this whole thing.
"I-I don't know what to do anymore! *sniff* I tried to control my body b-but he just kept making it hungrier. *sniff* We started eating criminals, bad people who wanted to kill others. *sniff* But I-I didn't want anyone to die anymore! I kept him away from people!"
Huh?
"But he kept making me hungrier and hungrier and I still tried staying away!"
There were a bunch of debates going on about Izuku, some saying he teamed up with a villain because he was quirkless.
"But I thought s-someone was in trouble and I-I"
Others said he was never quirkless and pretended to be to hide his villainous quirk. She was leaning towards this cause of his attitude and how he didn't want to be a hero.
"Oh my gosh I ate some guy who was just a bully! He didn't even kill anyone!"
But the last option, was that he was just a hostage of a villain who needed a body.
"I kept t-trying to get him to s-stop b-but he was still hungry and...Oh my gosh I could taste it! K-kamui Woods blood I s-still taste it!"
Kyoka was feeling empathetic to her friend. She shouldn't have doubted him. He was a hostage during all of this and she was his only friend.
"I-I tried talking to h-him to turn ourselves in b-but he wouldn't let me. H-he can control my b-body whenever h-he wants."
"W-well, have you tried anything else?"
*sniff* "I t-tried to when I thought h-he was sleeping b-but I just healed!"
She did not like where this was going.
"I CAN'T EVEN KILL MYSELF PROPERLY I'M JUST SOME USELESS DEKU WHO WILL NEVER HELP ANYONE!"
"You helped me!" She shouted back. Her tears were starting to water. How could she have doubted him like that? She was probably the worst friend ever.
"Even if that villain was in you. YOU somehow convinced it to help me, my parents, and everyone in that stadium! I don't care if you somehow got possessed by a villain. You still acted like a hero every step of the way!"
"..."
"I couldn't be as strong as you are Izuku. *sniff* I'd probably be too scared and just give him full control, not wanting to see anything that he wanted to do."
She was crying now, all that pent up fear, anger, betrayal, all replaced with her guilt of not helping when she could have all along.
"N-no you've been amazing. You have been so n-nice a-and-"
*chuckle* "You're still trying to help me. Even though you need it way more than I do."
"T-that's not true! I-"
"Shut up and take the fucking compliment."
Oh yeah...he was still possessed. Kinda forgot that she wasn't talking to one person. Guess she was never talking to just Izuku.
"So umm….are..you-"
"No we're not eating you or your family."
"Thank go-"
"But we will eat your tongue if you ever speak about us."
There's the fear she was feeling right before the call.
"Y-yeah...s-sure."
"Also, we keep telling Izuku this but he won't listen. We only ate the hero because he STARVED US. If you were in a plane crash stuck in Alaska with your lover, only to spend all your energy looking for food but have no success. After a week, you're absolutely famished but a deer is caught in your amatuer level rope trap. You get excited, happy, you rush to deliver the final blow to get yourself some well deserved food. Your excitement is your doom as your rapid approach makes the deer desperate. After a few kicks it's free of your trap, leaving you to wallow in misery for your failures. For over a month you suffer, trying to quell the hunger by eating the leather seats. Yet they do nothing to nourish you. You are alone, barely awake as you stare into the fire barely warming you. The person next to you has barely helped in your quest to get food. Yet they are still plump, living off the fat their body stored from YEARS of self indulgence. They're asleep, you have the knife in your hand, the fire is there ready to cook anything you desire. At that point even you would consider cannibalism."
"..."
"Our logic stupefies you doesn't it?
"Well….more like you gave a very specific example that came out of nowhere."
"But you see our point?"
This was a villain? That voice was speaking to Izuku, never leaving him alone?
"We forgot to introduce ourselves. We are Venom, and we came up with that so you would better understand how we feel. If you want we can give another example. We have three others readily available."
She would have gone insane at this point.
"Guess you're speechless. It was probably a big eye opener huh?"
"Y-yeah." She tried to sound interested, but holy shit was she feeling worse for Izuku.
"S-so, can he hear us right now?"
"We're using his mouth right now."
"Is he fine with that?"
"He doesn't like the way his mouth gets fangs and how he can't talk. We offered to change his mouth whenever he wants but he won't do it."
"I wonder why.."
"Cause he's a pussy who can't handle how badass we can be."
I'm so sorry Izuku.
"You seem awfully friendly with me. If Izuku hears this then I'm still willing to be his friend but I don't know about you."
"We've been listening and reading every single word the two of you have exchanged to each other. If you're someone who helps Izuku, you help both of us. And if there's anyone you want cut out of your life or tries to hurt you. We will gladly eat them. Win Win."
Kyoka was getting a lot of mixed signals from this guy. One minute she thinks she should be absolutely afraid, the next she's trying not to think of him as a loser. She just has to remember that whoever this villain is, could eat her whenever he wanted but chose not too. For Izuku's sake somehow.
"Why Izuku?"
"You mean why we are with him instead of someone like All Might?"
"Yeah. No offense to Izuku but why did you pick someone who is relatively considered weak?"
"Now you're asking the good questions. We'll explain what we are to you. That way you know how useless it is to stop us."
What he is?
"Do you believe in aliens?"
