Chapter 11: Visiting The Princesses
Today is another normal day in Ponyville as the Mane 7 decided to spend the day at (Y/N)'s place. (Y/N) house was actually a very fun place for the Mane 7 as it had everything what they could want. There was a library where Twilight and Spike reading some of (Y/N)'s combat spell books, a kitchen where Pinkie Pie is currently making delicious treats for everypony, a peaceful backyard where Fluttershy is relaxing with some chirping birds and Rarity is smelling some of the flowers, a training room where Applejack is bucking a training dummy to test out her strength, and a game room where Rainbow Dash and (Y/N) were playing Pony Pong with each other on a table.
Everyone was enjoying themselves happily until in the kitchen a loud ding was made and Pinkie called out to everypony.
Pinkie Pie: Cupcakes are done everypony!
Pinkie yelled this out across the house as everypony could here it and they all walked to (Y/N)'s kitchen to sit down at a table together and eat some delicious cupcakes.
(Y/N): Wow, Pinkie! Once again, you know how to make the perfect sweets for anypony.
Pinkie blushed a little and giggled from (Y/N)'s compliment.
Pinkie Pie: Aw, thanks (Y/N).
Twilight Sparkle: (Y/N), I have to say that you have quite a supply of spell books in your library room. You must practice magic a lot.
(Y/N): If it's anything that's help me protect anypony more, it's what I'll take.
Rarity: (Y/N), you also have such a beautiful assortment of flowers in your backyard.
Fluttershy: And it's so peaceful outside that it attracts some singing birds.
(Y/N): Heh, heh thanks you two. How's my training dummy like Applejack?
Applejack: I've got to say, it's definitely a great tool to use for combat. You use it often?
(Y/N): You bet. I practice on it for 30 minutes a day as a daily routine.
Rainbow Dash: Dude, you've got some skills when it comes to playing some sports like Pony Pong.
(Y/N): Eh, I didn't get a game room for nothing.
Suddenly, Spike belches up his signature green flames as it faded to reveal a rolled up scroll with a red ribbon.
Twilight Sparkle: Spike, is it a letter from Princess Celestia?
Spike: Yeah, but. . . it's for (Y/N).
(Y/N): Wait, a letter for me from the princess? What did it say?
Spike opens up the letter to read it out loud to everypony.
Spike: "Dear (Y/N), I was wanting to see how you have been doing lately ever since you have returned here in Equestria and became not only a resident, but the Hero of Ponyville. I've heard that you have done great things by protecting the citizens such defending them from an Ursa Minor and restoring Ponyville all by yourself when it was eaten up by parasprites. I wish to see you once again (Y/N) as there are many things my sister and I want to catch up with you ever since we saw you as an alicorn foal. If you decide to come to Canterlot and wish to see us, the royal crest on the letter will allow you to enter the royal palace. My sister and I hope to see you soon. From, Princess Celesta."
When Spike was finished reading the letter, everypony saw the royal crest at the bottom of the letter which surprised them.
Twilight Sparkle: (Y/N), you've been invited to the royal palace! That's a huge honor not many ponies get.
(Y/N): Really?
Twilight Sparkle: Of course and by the looks of it, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna will be thrilled to see you.
(Y/N): I see. Well, I guess since I have nothing planned to do tomorrow, I'll visit both of the princesses then. They did say that it has been so long ever since they got to see me, so I can't turn that down.
Rarity: Oh, Canterlot is such a lovely place. It's the capital of Equestria and home to many nobles as well as rich and successful families.
Rainbow Dash: I've also heard that the Wonderbolts have their main headquarters there too. You're so lucky.
Pinkie Pie: I bet they'll have a bunch of fun parties there too!
(Y/N): I need a method of transportation though. Carrying my bags and flying there would be tiring.
Twilight Sparkle: I know (Y/N). You can take the train to Canterlot. It's just right on the edge of Ponyville.
(Y/N): Thanks, Twilight. I guess I'll get ready to meet my mother's old friends again tomorrow.
The next day, (Y/N) woke up early and packed a few things from his bag including a gift for both of the princesses. (Y/N) got a bouquet of sunflowers for Princess Celestia and a bouquet of moon flowers for Princess Luna. After (Y/N) got everything he needed, the girls escorted him to the train station and he was currently waiting to board the train to Canterlot.
Fluttershy: Have a great time, (Y/N).
Pinkie Pie: Yeah, I hope you have a lot of fun there. Tell us everything about it when you come back.
(Y/N): I sure will. Canterlot sounds like an amazing place.
Rarity: It most definitely is. Such high class places, high class ponies, everything there is high class.
Rainbow Dash: Hey, bring us back some souvenirs when you're there alright?
(Y/N): Will do.
Twilight Sparkle: When you visit Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, please send my regards to both of them.
(Y/N): Sure, Twilight.
Applejack: And you don't need to worry about your house sugarcube. We'll look after it for you.
(Y/N): Thanks everypony.
The train whistle then blows signalling that it was about to leave.
(Y/N): Well, I guess I've got to go now. I'll see you six soon.
Mane 6: Bye, (Y/N)!
(Y/N) got onto the train as the door and began to move, (Y/N) stuck his head out of a window and waved goodbye to his friends as they all waved back until he lost sight of them. He sat back down in a seat and looked up in the air pondering about his visit with the princesses.
(Y/N): (Thoughts) I can't wait to see the princesses again. They haven't seen me ever since I was a tiny foal and for thousands of years. I want to make this visit the best for them.
It took awhile, but the train finally arrived to the city known as Canterlot. When (Y/N) got off the train, he looked to see that it was was a large city with buildings almost everywhere and the royal castle could also be seen from afar.
(Y/N): Wow. So cool.
When (Y/N) entered the city, he sees many ponies walking by of different types, most of them being nobility.
(Y/N): I know I really want to experience how the city of Canterlot actually is, but it's probably best for me to visit the princesses first so they know I have arrived.
As (Y/N) walks across Canterlot, some ponies gasped and recognized (Y/N) as not only the alicorn stallion who fought Nightmare Moon and saved Princess Luna, but also the Hero of Ponyville. Some took pictures of him from afar which he noticed, but didn't mind as he kept on walking towards the royal palace.
When (Y/N) approaches the gates, two royal guards stood at opposite sides and one of them steps forward.
Royal Guard 1: Halt! State your business in the royal palace!
(Y/N): My name is (Y/N) and I've been invited Princess Celestia herself to visit.
Both of the royal guards are surprised to hear that name and they then see that (Y/N) is indeed the alicorn stallion.
Royal Guard 2: Oh! You're him!
(Y/N): Yes I am indeed.
Royal Guard 1: Well, it is an honor to meet you Mister (Y/N). Have you got the letter that princess sent you?
Royal Guard 2: We were told yesterday that you might be coming soon.
(Y/N): I'm glad you asked as I have it right here.
(Y/N) took out the letter from his bag and presented to both of the guards who look at the royal crest and nodded. They then opened the gates for him.
Royal Guard 1: Enjoy your visit, Mister (Y/N).
(Y/N): Thank you very much.
(Y/N) walked in the royal palace and he looked in awe to how the interior of the palace looked. He met then runs into one of the servants who looked hard at him, but he recognizes him.
Servant: Oh my, you're (Y/N). The male alicorn and the Hero of Ponyville.
(Y/N): Yes, that's me. I take it you've heard of me?
Servant: Princess Celestia and Princess Luna believe or not talks about you every once in awhile about how you've returned after thousands of years. They will indeed be most delighted to see you.
(Y/N): Really? Wow. Well in that case, where are they?
Servant: They are currently in their throne room talking with another noble. I can guide you to there if that's what you want.
(Y/N): Sure. Lead the way.
The servant guided (Y/N) up to the throne room and there was a seat that (Y/N) sat at to wait while the servant checks on how the princesses are. It took a few minutes, but (Y/N) was then called by the servant to enter the throne room. When (Y/N) enters the throne room, he sees Princess Celestia sitting on a throne with gold details and Princess Luna sitting on a throne with blue details.
One thing that (Y/N) noticed was that Princess Luna was back to her original form as her mane was flowing similar to Celestia's which meant that her power had returned.
When both of the princesses see (Y/N), they had excited looks on their faces.
Servant: Your highnesses, I would like to announce the arrival of (Y/N) from Ponyville.
Celestia gestures for him to leave which he does and once he left, that just left (Y/N) and the princesses alone together.
(Y/N): Princess Celestia! Princess Luna! It's great to see you again.
Princess Celestia: Indeed it is (Y/N).
Both of the princesses walked down to hug (Y/N) which he returned.
Princess Celestia: The last time we were able to see you was at the Summer Sun Celebration, but we couldn't make much amends with you. That's why my sister and I invited you here.
(Y/N): I see. Thank you for the invite princess.
Princess Celestia: You are most welcome (Y/N). And please, the son of (M/N) (L/N) has no right to be so formal with us. You may call us our normal names.
(Y/N): Very well then Celestia.
Princess Luna: Apparently you have been quite the talk among a lot of ponies, (Y/N). How have things been for you in Ponyville?
(Y/N): Very well actually. My friends and I have learned lessons on friendship, I saved Ponyville from getting destroyed by an Ursa Minor, and finally thanks to some high skill in magic I was able to restore Ponyville after it was eaten up from the whole parasprite incident.
Princess Celestia cringed a little when he mentioned the last part.
Princess Celestia: *sighs* Yes. Apparently, when I was called over to Fillydelphia the tiny creatures have eaten a bunch of food products. . . and they were not easy to deal with.
(Y/N): Trust me, I know.
Princess Celestia: Well, besides the parasprite incident, how about you tell us some more about your time on Earth, (Y/N).
Princess Luna: Indeed, I wish to know more about that mythical world as well.
(Y/N): Earth was a wonderful world I lived in for my childhood. Humans were not exactly like us ponies, we stood on two feet and we had hands instead of hooves. One big difference that Earth had was that there was no magic except for my mother and I.
Princess Celestia: I see, so how does one raise and lower the Sun without magic (Y/N)?
(Y/N): The Sun and The Moon instead travel around the planet on their own and every 12 hours it changes from day to night. Pretty simple for you to learn actually.
Princess Luna: Interesting, how exactly do you humans live your lives? Is there a ruler on Earth as well?
(Y/N): Not exactly. In many different parts of Earth, there are countries that are either ruled by the people or one person as their ruler, but there isn't one whole ruler of Earth.
Princess Celestia: Earth is very interesting (Y/N). I'm surprised that you were able to live in this kind of world for your whole life until now while having magic.
(Y/N): Me too.
(Y/N) then grows a slight sad look on his face.
(Y/N): If only my mother was with me though.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna noticed (Y/N)'s slight sad look as they then had the same look he did.
(Y/N): Almost everyday I think about her, she's was my only family, and because of her. . . I wasn't so lonely all the time. But she's gone now, and I have to accept that.
Princess Celestia could feel (Y/N)'s pain until she got an idea.
Princess Celestia: (Y/N), come with me.
Princess Celestia then guides (Y/N) out of the throne room and they both walk through the corridor until they both stop and (Y/N) is surprised to what Celestia shows him on a wall. It was a mural that had an alicorn mare shining her horn to blast some wicked looking monsters away, and that alicorn was none other than (Y/N)'s mother, (M/N).
(Y/N): Is that. . .?
Princess Celestia: It is, your mother was the bravest alicorn to protect Equestria no matter what (Y/N). It was said that she could step on the darkest of shadows and they would disappear, or she just scare a mob of monsters just by talking. But most of all, she was willing to protect not only us as her friends, but all of Equestria at the time.
(Y/N) smiled at seeing the mural of his mother as his sadness was just gone instantly.
Princess Celestia: There's one more thing on that mural however (Y/N).
(Y/N): Huh? Really?
Princess Celestia: Yes. Look at the top of it.
(Y/N) looks towards the top of the mural and what he sees next surprises him as it looked to be a tiny little alicorn silhouette in a white circle.
(Y/N): Is that suppose to be me?
Princess Celestia: Indeed. When you were born into Equestria, (Y/N) we were all very excited, but when Star Swirl had to sent you and (M/N) to Earth in order to keep your magic safe, we were all very sad to see you go. Which is why we made this little memorial. We always thought that one day, we would once reunite with you or (M/N) and apparently our dream came true as we now see you as a grown young and handsome stallion (Y/N).
(Y/N) blushed and rubbed the back of his head at that last part.
Princess Celestia: Your mother, we may not be able to see anymore, but she will always be with you, Luna, and I in our hearts.
(Y/N): Thank you for showing me this, Celestia. I needed it.
Princess Celestia: You are welcome (Y/N).
Princess Celestia then notices the time up on a nearby clock and goes wide-eyed for a second before looking back at (Y/N).
Princess Celestia: Pardon me (Y/N), but my sister and I have an important meeting with the council soon. Why don't you take a stroll around the castle while you wait for us to be finished?
(Y/N): Of course. I'll see both you and Luna later.
(Y/N) then walks off to go somewhere else and while Princess Celestia had a thought in her mind with a slight blush.
Princess Celestia: (Thoughts) Such a handsome young one indeed.
(Y/N) walked through the royal palace, passing by many ponies who recognized him and they all greeted (Y/N) which he also greeted the other fellow ponies. As he walks around, (Y/N) passes by a cracked door and he was just about to walk past it until he heard a grunt of effort inside of the room. (Y/N) took a peek inside of the room and see some ponies in armor training to fight which peaked his interest.
(Y/N): Whoa. So, these must be new recruits and soldiers in the Royal Guard. They look to be training really hard. I guess that what you get when you become a soldier.
?: Hey you there!
(Y/N) jumped a little, but turned around to see a unicorn stallion in royal guard armor. The unicorn stallion has a light grey coat, a moderate sapphire blue mane and tail with moderate cerulean and dark phthalo blue streaks, moderate cerulean eyes, moderate sapphire blue hooves and he is wearing purple royal guard armor with gold details and the armor covered his Cutie Mark.
Shining Armor: I think I recognize you. You're (Y/N) right? The Hero of Ponyville and the alicorn stallion everyponies been talking about?
(Y/N): Yeah, that's me. Who are you if I may ask?
Shining Armor: I am Shining Armor, Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guards and it's an honor to meet the alicorn stallion who helped save Equestria from Nightmare Moon.
(Y/N): Thank you, but it's not just me you have to thank as I didn't do it alone. I had my friends to help me out as well.
Shining Armor: That is true. Nopony can defeat dangerous threats like Nightmare Moon on their own. Having friends and allies by your side is always a good thing.
(Y/N): Yeah, I learned that along with my very first friend in Ponyville. Her name is Twilight Sparkle.
When (Y/N) mentioned Twilight's name, this gained Shining Armor's attention.
Shining Armor: You know Twily? She's my younger sister.
(Y/N): Really?! Twilight never mentioned to me or her friends about her having an older brother.
Shining Armor: Twily has friends? That's great to hear. Ever since she left Canterlot, I've been worried if she would even bother to make a single friend in Ponyville.
(Y/N): Well, you don't need to worry at all as Twilight has me and five other close friends that she's made ever since she came to Ponyville.
Shining Armor: That's good to hear. I'll tell my parents next time I seem them. Twilight's usually one to study hardcore on a lot of things. She's was always so focused on her studies that she hardly made any friends at the time.
(Y/N): That sounds like Twilight alright. But like I said, she's made such great friends with not only me, but some other ponies. Practically, we're all pretty close.
Shining Armor: Interesting, maybe one day I'll meet Twily's friends that you speak of. Anyways (Y/N), I've also heard that you're quite the fighter.
(Y/N): You have no idea. I read so many books on combat spells that I'm super good at fighting.
Shining Armor: I see. You were able to fight Nightmare Moon on equal grounds and you fought an Ursa Minor, I wondered who could be brave enough to face those kinds of beings alone.
(Y/N): That pony would be me. Not to brag though.
Shining Armor: *chuckles* No worries. So I was also wondering (Y/N), since you're such a skilled fighter, why not show my men how you fight.
(Y/N): Sure thing, but how exactly?
Shining Armor: We have a sparring match. You against me.
(Y/N) then got a determined look on his face as he nodded at that request.
(Y/N): Sure, I accept your challenge.
Shining Armor: Alright then, follow me.
(Y/N) followed Shining Armor to the training room and he called to the guards that were training with each other.
Shining Armor: Attention!
The guards turned to see Shining Armor as they all stopped what they were doing and faced him while saluting.
Shining Armor: I'd like to introduce a special guest with us as he is one to be a very skilled stallion in combat.
(Y/N) then walks forward beside Shining Armor as the guards gasped at who they were seeing.
Royal Guard 1: Captain, is that. . .?
Shining Armor: Yes, I'd like to introduce (Y/N), the Hero of Ponyville to you all.
Royal Guard 2: What is he doing here all the way from Ponyville here in Canterlot?
Shining Armor: He was invited here by the princesses themselves to introduce him to the royal palace. Also, we have heard that he is quite the fighter, so we are both going to give you all a demonstration of his power. He is going to battle me in a sparring match.
The guards were surprised to hear that as they thought that Shining Armor was insane to fight someone like (Y/N).
(Y/N): Now let us show you a nice battle between two high-skilled fighters.
Shining Armor gestured for the guards to stand back as they went to stand near the walls. (Y/N) and Shining Armor then decided to get a fair distance from each other as they stood on the opposites sides of the room. They both get into a ready position as they stared each other down.
Shining Armor: Are you ready?
(Y/N): You know it.
Shining Armor: Alright, the first one to get knocked to the ground wins. Simple enough?
(Y/N): Yep, pretty simple.
Shining Armor: Okay then, ready? . . .GO!
(Y/N) and Shining Armor charged at each other as Shining Armor tried to send a punch to (Y/N)'s face, but he was able to see that coming as he blocked it with one of his hooves. (Y/N) then kicked Shining Armor in the chest which knocks him back a bit. Shining Armor nods at that as he could tell (Y/N)'s pretty quick. He then proceeds to go to him and try to punch him again which (Y/N) fell for, but this time it was a feint as Shining Armor did a leg sweep which (Y/N) jumped over, but he then got hit in the face in the process. He was knocked back a little from that, but was still able to stand perfectly on all four of his hooves. (Y/N) knew that he could use his wings to help him stand, but he knew that would be cheating so he decided not to use them in any way.
Shining Armor: You're not half bad at all, (Y/N).
(Y/N): I could say the same thing to you.
(Y/N) then proceeds to rush up to Shining Armor and he threw a couple of punches at him which Shining Armor dodged, but what he wasn't expecting was an uppercut that (Y/N) made as he got sent up into the air only a couple of feet and he still landed on his hooves. Shining Armor then grabs (Y/N) by the chest which was a move he was not expecting at all and Shining Armor threw him in the opposite direction he was facing. (Y/N) lands and slides backwards while skidding to a halt.
(Y/N): Nice, I wasn't expecting a grab at all.
Shining Armor: When you fight against your enemies, you not only fight tough, but you also fight strategically.
(Y/N) nods as he dashes back towards Shining Armor as they were now in close quarters combat and they both send various punches and kicks as they block some and get hit by some others. Shining Armor then tries to land a hard punch on (Y/N), but he saw this coming as he parried it with his hooves and seeing that he had an opening, (Y/N) kicks Shining Armor away a good distance. They were both still standing as they were breathing heavily.
Shining Armor: Nice job, (Y/N). How about we spice things up a bit and show us some of the magic spells that you learned.
(Y/N): Okay, then. Time for me to show you what I'm made of. Get ready for some advanced combat spells.
Shining Armor decides to test (Y/N) out by send a small magic beam at him and (Y/N) smirked as he glowed his horn and let the magic beam hit his horn and what happened next brought a surprise to everypony in the room. (Y/N) apparently absorbed the beam and now his horn aura color is glowing an even brighter hue and (Y/N) sends back and even larger magic beam than Shining Armor did as he ducked to dodge it.
Shining Armor: Whoa! You weren't kidding!
(Y/N): Nope, I wasn't. How about you show me what skills you have in combat magic, Shining Armor?
Shining Armor: Very well then.
Shining Armor then teleports behind (Y/N) which surprised him, but he was fast enough to react to that as he turned and Shining Armor decides to send a few blasts of magic at (Y/N) and he projects a shield in front of him to protect himself from the attack. (Y/N) then counterattacks by putting magic energy into his hoof and he punches Shining Armor back in the chest as that knocked him up towards a wall. Shining Armor was surprised at that kind of power.
Shining Armor: Impressive. You put magic into your hoof to make your attacks more stronger.
(Y/N): There are tons more I can do than just that, but it's best I don't use that in a place like here as it could cause some damage.
Shining Armor: That's understandable. Alright then it's my turn to attack.
Shining Armor then teleports and (Y/N) was expecting him to appear behind him once again, but he didn't which confused him.
(Y/N): (Thoughts) Where did he go?
(Y/N) looked left and right for Shining Armor as he was nowhere to be seen. He then realizes something as he had been in this kind of a situation with Nightmare Moon.
(Y/N): (Thoughts) This has happened before! I've got to watch my back!
Before (Y/N) could react however, Shining Armor quickly teleported beside (Y/N) and punches him on his side which nearly knocks him off balance, but he was still able to stand. Shining Armor then teleports away again, and (Y/N) was feeling some pressure that he wasn't able to tell where Shining Armor is.
(Y/N): (Thoughts) Darn it, if I get caught off like that again then I'm for sure to lose. If only I could sense where he's coming from. Just. . . calm down (Y/N). Don't let his mind games fool you.
(Y/N) then takes a deep breath and closes his eyes and after for a few seconds, he opened them back up as his pupils glowed his aura color a little bit and he could now sense where Shining Armor is.
(Y/N): Gotcha!
(Y/N) turned to his right and sure enough, Shining Armor appeared again ready to attack (Y/N), but he was prepared for this as when Shining Armor tried to throw the punch, (Y/N) put some magic energy into his hoof and he parried the punch throwing Shining Armor off balance and (Y/N) delivers the final blow by punching Shining Armor hard at his side and he falls to the floor.
The guards that were watching the whole fight then cheers for (Y/N) as he won. (Y/N) then walks up to Shining Armor who was on the floor and he looks at (Y/N) who extends his hoof out to him to help him up.
(Y/N): You alright there?
Shining Armor accepts (Y/N)'s help as (Y/N) pulled him up to stand on the ground on all four hooves.
Shining Armor: Yeah, thanks (Y/N). And you were an excellent fighter.
(Y/N): Thanks. That was probably one of the most awesome battles I've ever had.
?: That was a very amazing battle that I have witnessed. I didn't think anypony had the guts to stand up to Shining Armor.
(Y/N) and Shining Armor heard a female voice as they turned around to see an alicorn mare with pale, light grayish cerise coat, a moderate violet mane and tail with moderate rose and pale gold streaks, light purple eyes, and her Cutie Mark is a multifaceted light blue crystal heart between gold laces.
Shining Armor: Princess Cadance.
(Y/N): Princess Cadance?
Shining Armor bowed in respect to Princess Cadance, but she just gestured at him that he doesn't need to.
Princess Cadance: I believe I know who you are. You must (Y/N), the male alicorn and the Hero of Ponyville that I've heard about.
(Y/N): Yes, that's me.
Princess Cadance: I've heard a bit about you from my aunts, Celestia and Luna.
(Y/N): Really? You're their niece?
Princess Cadance: That is correct.
(Y/N): Well in that case, it's an honor to meet you Princess Cadance.
(Y/N) bowed for a second to show respect before standing back up.
Shining Armor: Princess Cadance, (Y/N) here knows my sister.
Princess Cadance: Oh? You know Twilight?
(Y/N): Yes, I'm one of her best friends.
Princess Cadance: Really now? I actually used to foal-sit Twilight when she was just a filly.
(Y/N): Huh. You know, for being one of my best friends, she really hasn't mentioned either of you to me at all.
Princess Cadance: I see. Perhaps we should discuss this in a more peaceful area. Shining Armor will you come as well?
Shining Armor: As you wish.
Shining Armor then turns to the guards in the room.
Shining Armor: Guards, return to your duties.
The guards nodded at that as some went to leave while some others stayed in the room for their training sessions.
(Y/N) and Shining Armor follow Princess Cadance outside of the castle on a large balcony where they all sit down and (Y/N) sits across from both of them.
Princess Cadance: So, (Y/N) you're friends with Twilight?
(Y/N): Yes, princess.
Princess Cadance: Please, you have full permission to call me Cadence. Besides, you are the son of (M/N), correct?
(Y/N): Yes. You knew my mother?
Princess Cadance: Aunty Celestia and Aunty Luna actually sometimes lectured me about her, and she was a very interesting pony indeed.
Shining Armor: I always used to think that the all powerful (M/N) was just a legend, but seeing how I have heard that you're her son (Y/N), I realize that it is no legend at all.
Princess Cadance: I. . . have also heard something sad about what happened to her (Y/N).
(Y/N): *sighs* Yeah. So you've heard as well.
Princess Cadance: Do you miss your mother (Y/N)?
(Y/N): I miss her a billion, but I do know that she would want me to keep living for her.
Shining Armor: So sorry to hear about that, (Y/N).
(Y/N): No, it's perfectly fine. Princess Celestia actually showed me something earlier about my mother. She showed me this huge mural of her fighting to save Equestria, and after seeing it, I felt like I could stare at it for days.
Princess Cadance: Oh, you mean that one near the throne room. Yes, that's indeed (M/N) and she was very much a heroic pony.
(Y/N) smiles at that knowing that Shining Armor and Princess Cadance admired his mother.
Princess Cadance: So, back to the topic about Twilight. How did you two first meet, (Y/N)?
Shining Armor: I'm actually quite curious myself.
Shining Armor then took off his helmet and laid it beside him.
(Y/N): I first met Twilight when she came to Ponyville for the first time. I volunteered to give her a tour around Ponyville for the Summer Sun Celebration.
Shining Armor: I was rather surprised to hear that she wanted to stay in Ponyville after that celebration instead of returning here to Canterlot to continue her studies.
(Y/N): That's because she's made some really great friends during her time there.
Shining Armor: So Twily really does have friends. That's good to hear.
(Y/N): What was Twilight like before she came to Ponyville?
Princess Cadance: *sighs* Back when Twilight was here in Canterlot, she would always focus more on her studies and she came more isolated with Spike. Especially once she became Aunty Celestia's student.
Shining Armor: I was worried that Twilight only wanted to stay in Ponyville to focus on her studies without being bothered by anypony.
(Y/N): Well, the way I described how she is now, she's no longer like that. She likes to hang out with me and her other friends whenever she can.
Shining Armor: Well that's a relief.
Princess Cadance: Indeed. Now that Twilight has friends we no longer have to worry about her not having any friends.
Princess Cadance then got a mischievous look on her face.
Princess Cadance: So (Y/N), what's your current relationship with Twilight like?
(Y/N) raises an eyebrow at that.
(Y/N): I'd say we're really great friends at the moment. Why?
Princess Cadance: Is there anything going on between you two?
(Y/N): W-What are you saying?
Princess Cadance: I'm asking if you and Twilight are together?
(Y/N) then has a huge blush on his face from that.
(Y/N): Wait. . . what?!
Shining Armor: (Y/N). . . have you done anything. . . inappropriate with my sister?
(Y/N) shook his head quickly which motioning no with his hooves.
(Y/N): N-N-N-N-No! T-There's nothing going on between Twilight and I at all! We're just friends!
Shining Armor: It's okay, I believe you. Just don't try anything funny with her, or I'll make you regret it.
(Y/N): D-Duly noted!
Princess Cadance: Sorry if I embarrassed you (Y/N). I just wanted to know your current relationship with Twilight.
(Y/N): We're just. . . really great friends. Nothing more.
Princess Cadance: If you say so. Hopefully soon in her life though, Twilight will meet her special somepony.
Princess Cadance and Shining Armor then held hooves which made (Y/N) tilt his head a little bit.
Shining Armor: As long as they treat with her with the right amount of respect.
(Y/N): Huh? Are you two. . . dating?
Princess Cadance: Indeed we are (Y/N). Shining Armor and I have been together for awhile now and only a few ponies know we're together.
(Y/N): I see. Well, I guess I could be added to those few ponies that know now.
Both of them chuckle at that as Princess Cadance then decides to bring up another topic.
Princess Cadance: So (Y/N), I also heard that you are the legendary Element of Heroism.
(Y/N): Oh, yes I am actually.
Princess Cadance: Tell us, what exactly got you to becoming like a hero?
(Y/N): It's all from a promise I made to my mother.
Shining Armor: A promise?
(Y/N): Yes. Before I left her, she asked me to promise her to protect Equestria at all costs, especially my friends. I knew that was something I couldn't say no to since I lived with her my whole childhood. My mother was not only my only family when I was a kid, but she was also my only friend. And when I first came here to Equestria and meet all of these nice and amazing ponies, I knew that this is a world that can't be taken by anyone. It's so peaceful and everypony has amazing lives that they have. So it's my duty to protect them no matter what.
Shining Armor: That's very noble of you (Y/N).
Princess Cadance: Indeed, what exactly does being a hero mean to you?
(Y/N): Being a hero doesn't just mean conquering evil, it means protecting the ponies you care about and everypony in Equestria. That's why I always try to keep my friends and family safe.
Princess Cadance: I see. (Y/N), can you promise me and Shining Armor one thing?
(Y/N): Sure, what's that?
Princess Cadance: No matter what happens, keep fighting for our lives until you die.
Shining Armor: Seeing you in action (Y/N), you'd be willing to fight anypony that threatens Equestria. So can you promise us that?
(Y/N) nods with a determined look on his face.
(Y/N): Definitely.
Just then, a servant walks near the balcony and calls out to (Y/N).
Servant: Mister (Y/N), Princess Celestia would like to see you.
(Y/N): Oh, okay then. It was nice getting to know you two. I'll see you two some other time.
Both of them nodded as (Y/N) bowed in respect to them and left.
Princess Cadance: He seems like a very nice stallion. I can see why Aunty Celestia and Aunty Luna speak so highly of him.
Shining Armor: Indeed. I wonder what kind of future holds for somepony like him.
(Y/N) followed the servant to Princess Celestia's study which he walked into to see her sitting at a table with two tea cups.
Princess Celestia: Ah (Y/N), thank you for coming. How are liking your stay at Canterlot so far?
(Y/N) sat across from Princess Celestia with a smile on his face.
(Y/N): It really amazing. I've never been to a place so high class before. And so far it amazing to how Equestria is such an different place than Earth.
Princess Celestia: *chuckles* Well, I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your stay in Equestria.
(Y/N): Oh, I also want to say thanks for giving me and all of my friends tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala.
Princess Celestia then got a conflicted look when (Y/N) mentioned about the Grand Galloping Gala.
Princess Celestia: Oh, right. . . The Grand Galloping Gala.
(Y/N) noticed the princess' change in tone of voice as he was confused by it.
(Y/N): Celestia, is there something wrong?
Princess Celestia: Well. . . *sighs* It's just that every year, the Grand Galloping Gala is the same for me.
(Y/N): The same? How?
Princess Celestia: Every year when I am at the Grand Galloping Gala, it's always a bunch of nobles talking amongst one another and although it is suppose to be a gathering for ponies like that. . . it not so much of a party for somepony like me to enjoy.
(Y/N) then got the same conflicted look that Celestia had.
(Y/N): Oh, that doesn't sound fun at all.
Princess Celestia: I wish I could disagree with you. But that's the reason I invited you and your friends there (Y/N).
(Y/N) then got a curious look at that.
(Y/N): Really?
Princess Celestia: When Twilight asked me to invite her friends to the gala as well, I was thrilled. I thought that if you seven were at the Grand Galloping Gala, then you liven things up a bit while you are there.
(Y/N): Hmm. . . I see. So you're asking us to try to make the Grand Galloping Gala better this year.
Princess Celestia: Indeed, even if you and your friends may not have the best time, it will indeed make me happy to see you all there.
(Y/N) thought about that for a second before smiling.
(Y/N): Don't worry Celestia. You can count on my friends and I, we'll try and make this Grand Galloping Gala, The Best Night Ever.
Princess Celestia smiled at that.
Princess Celestia: Thank you (Y/N). Would you like some tea?
(Y/N): I would. Thank you.
After having tea with Celestia, (Y/N) decided to explore more around the castle until night time. Princess Celestia offered him a guest room which he accepted. (Y/N) was currently outside gazing at the stars on a hill until he sees someone in the distance. (Y/N) walked towards that somepony and it revealed to be Princess Luna who was also gazing at the night sky under a tree.
(Y/N): Luna?
Princess Luna hears (Y/N)'s voice and she turns to see him approaching her.
Princess Luna: Oh, hello (Y/N). What are you doing out here so late?
(Y/N): I was gazing at the night sky. Is that what you were doing as well?
Princess Luna: Yes. . . I was.
Luna said that in a sad tone as (Y/N) noticed.
(Y/N): Luna, is something wrong?
Princess Luna: Oh. . . no, I'm. . . fine.
(Y/N): Luna, I can tell that there's something wrong with you and I want to help, but I can't help if you don't tell what wrong.
Princess Luna looked at (Y/N) for a second as she could tell in his eyes that he really wants to make her feel better, so she's sighs and decides to tell him her problem.
Princess Luna: (Y/N), I'm scared.
(Y/N): You're scared?
Princess Luna: Yes, I'm afraid that I might become Nightmare Moon again. It was my fault that I was so envious of my sister thousands of years ago, and I'm afraid I might lose control over myself again. Every time I look at the night sky, I always try to see that it can't happen, but my mind just keeps telling me over and over again about my past actions.
(Y/N) could feel Luna's pain as she then had a couple of tears in her eyes.
Princess Luna: It's like a true nightmare that you can't let go (Y/N). Whatever shall I do? If this does happen again, nopony will ever forgive me if it happens.
(Y/N) didn't want to see Luna so sad so he did something that surprised her. (Y/N) gave Luna a huge hug.
Princess Luna: W-What?
(Y/N): Luna, if there's one we all do in our life, it's that we all make mistakes. And while some may seem huge and unforgiving, just know that ponies such as me will always see the good in you as any mistake you make to us can be forgiven.
Princess Luna: But what if I turn into Nightmare Moon again?
(Y/N): Then my friends and I will save you once again, no matter the cost. All you needed in your life was a little friendship, and me, my friends, and Celestia were willing to let you be part of that.
Luna was surprised by (Y/N) words as she stopped crying and (Y/N) looks back up to the night sky.
(Y/N): Luna, if there's anything that I love about the night, it's that the night itself, the moon, the stars, and all of our dreams is what makes the night beautiful.
Princess Luna blushed a little at that but smiled. (Y/N) then puts his hoof over Luna's hoof surprising her as she blushed harder.
(Y/N): I dream everyday and every night for everypony to be happy and that includes you Luna.
(Y/N) then began to do something that Luna didn't expect at all. . . he began to sing.

(Y/N) then hugs Luna again which she returned the hug.
(Y/N): Just know that whatever happens in the future Luna. I promise that I'll save you.
Princess Luna: Thank you (Y/N).
(Y/N): Anytime Luna.
Princess Luna smiles as she and (Y/N) and stare at the night sky for awhile. What they didn't know however was that Princess Celestia was hiding behind a tree and saw and heard everything between the two which made her smile knowing that her sister will never be alone again.
The next day, (Y/N) did a few things before the late afternoon of when he had to leave. He bought some gifts for his friends, talked more with both Shining Armor and Princess Cadance, and spent some more time with both Celestia and Luna. After that was done, (Y/N) is now currently in the throne room with Celestia and Luna and was getting ready to leave.
(Y/N): I wish I could stay here longer, but I don't want to keep my friends in Ponyville waiting too long.
Princess Celestia: We understand (Y/N).
(Y/N): However, before I go, I wanted to give you two these.
(Y/N) pulled out both bouquets of flowers and showed them to the princesses which they smiled and accepted.
(Y/N): Since both of you are know as the princesses of the Sun and the Moon, I thought getting these flowers as gifts for you would be nice.
Princess Celestia: Thank you very much. They're beautiful (Y/N). We will have these beside our thrones with vases to remember these well. Also, there is something we want to give you in return.
(Y/N): What's that?
Both of the princesses looked at each other and nodded as they walked up to (Y/N) and gave him a double kiss on the cheek which made him blush profusely and the princesses smile shyly.
Princess Luna: We haven't thanked you properly for reuniting us, so. . . thank you (Y/N) and your always welcome back here in Canterlot.
(Y/N): W-Well. . . y-you're welcome. Bye Celestia, bye Luna, I hope I see you both real soon.
(Y/N) then quickly left as the princesses chuckle at his embarrassment.
Princess Celestia: He is quite cute isn't he?
Princess Luna: Yes. . . he is sister.
When (Y/N) left the castle, he got back on the train that was departing for Ponyville and on his way back, he couldn't stop thinking about the kiss Celestia and Luna gave him as he still had a blush on his face.
(Y/N) eventually arrived back in Ponyville and met up with the Mane 6 who were happy to see (Y/N) again. (Y/N) gave each of them their gifts he got from Canterlot, he gave Twilight a book, he gave Rarity some expensive perfume, he gave Rainbow Dash a Wonderbolt poster he found, he gave Applejack a different Stetson hat that had some apple details on it, he gave Pinkie Pie a bunch of confetti for her party cannon, and he gave Fluttershy a tea party set for her animals friends to enjoy. When everypony went their separate ways, (Y/N) decided to walk with Twilight since their homes are right next to each other. He told her about how he met her older brother and her old foal sitter. . . however, he forgot to mention to her about both of them being together. However, (Y/N) still had an excellent time in Canterlot and the good times were going to keep coming in the future.
