Chapter 9: Three New Captures
During the stay at Misty's Gym, the girls get to know Alice and they share some embarrassing stories on their journey. Alice giggles a lot as Ash sure is reckless in the past, but that doesn't change the fact that she loves him and he loves her as well.
"So what is your dream, Alice?" Dawn asks. "Surely, you won't be just traveling with Ash forever, right?"
Alice is struck by the question, she says, "Well...Being with Ash is a part of my dream, but I want to be friends with every Pokemon as well." Alice smiles, "Besides, I was born in the Kalos Region until I lived in Kanto for years. I also wanted to take part in the Showcases."
Ash says, "I know you'll like the Showcases." This causes them to look in surprise. "I have seen my friend Serena doing it, and I know you can do it with ease."
"You mean it, Ash?" Alice asks with a delight smile. Ash says, "Of course, besides, my mother used to be the Kalos Queen as well until she retired."
This causes them to be surprised and Misty asks, "And she never told us about it?"
"Well, my mother kept a lot of secrets than I thought." Ash giggles a little. "But back at Rota, she has been training me a lot of performances."
"Wait, you mean Rota? The place where you met Lucario?" Max asks.
"Yeah. Turns out Queen Ilene is actually my mother's disguise." Ash says, much to their shock. "No way...does that mean you are a prince somehow?" Max asks.
"You can say so." Ash says. "But I will like to make Alice my princess."
"Oh Ash." The four of them aren't used to see Ash being this lovey dovey, and it disturbs them somehow.
"Okay, I am going to get sick if I see you two do that again." Misty says. "Surely you don't want to be like Brock, right?"
"I am different than Brock, you know." Ash pouts, "I only want one girlfriend and that is Alice."
This causes them to laugh and both Ash and Alice are blushing again.
In the next day, they bid farewell to the others as they head to the Porta Vista. "Apparently, that gym in this place is a new gym." Alice says. "Maybe we can see something very great there."
"Yeah." Ash says. "But first, let's see what we can find in the wild. I still have to capture all the Pokemon."
As they walk forward, they see a fox Pokemon jumping out of the bushes. Ash says, "It is a Vulpix! You don't see that Pokemon every day."
The Vulpix yelps as she is surprised by Ash and Alice, Alice says, "Judging by the tail, it is just born."
"You're right, where is your mother, Vulpix?" Ash asks, but the Vulpix shakes her head, saying, "What is a mother?"
Alice and Ash are surprised at the question, then Alice asks, "Are you perhaps alone?"
Ash uses his aura to check out the Pokemon, and he finds that her recent memory is when it hatches and then spots us. "I see. This Vulpix was just hatched a few minutes ago. But I feel like the egg was being abandoned."
"Aww...you poor thing." Alice says as she hugs the Pokemon. "You really need a family, how about you join us in this journey?"
Vulpix feels a lot of care from both humans, and it feels a warm feeling and then she starts to call them papa and mama. And in the end, Ash captures the Pokemon so that it can come with them.
On the way, they meet the same Jigglypuff once more, and the Jigglypuff starts to sing before Ash grabs the microphone and says, "Please stop this."
"Give it back!" Jigglypuff tries to use Double Slap, but Ash quickly takes out the Ghost Knives to make the attack useless. Alice says with a stern tone, "Ash, what are you doing, that is not nice."
"Trust me, I don't want to do this as well, but then she won't ever learn from her mistakes." Ash says back, and it causes Alice to be confused.
Eventually, Jigglypuff becomes tired and she starts to beg Ash to give the microphone back. Ash says, "Jigglypuff, I know back before we taught you how to sing, but the song we taught you back then is a lullaby so that the people there can have rest. But if you keep singing lullabies, than all you did was just making them sleep again."
The revelation struck Jigglypuff as she never knew about that, she always thought that people slept because her song is boring, and that she is so angry that she will draw on their faces to punish them. But now that she learns the truth she feels bad and lowers her head in shame.
Ash returns the Jigglypuff and says, "I know you love to sing, but how about we teach you other songs?"
Then with Alice's help, they play some instruments to teach Jigglypuff a lot of songs. After mastering all the songs she learned, she starts to sing again, but this time all the Pokemon gather around the singing Jigglypuff and they are moving with rhythm. It is working since none of the Pokemon fall asleep, and in the end, they all give Jigglypuff a lot of cheers.
Jigglypuff is so happy that she jumps into Ash's arms. Ash says, "See, that isn't so bad, right?" Ash says as she nods.
Just then, they see that a Moon Stone on the ground and then Jigglypuff bounces off to touch it, much to their surprise, and now it evolves into a Wigglytuff.
"A Wigglytuff?" Ash asks, she says that she is going to sing new songs with new body, and she wants to join Ash's team for so long, so Ash and Lillie captures her.
On their way, they decide to train up Vulpix some more and even play with her, but then they are surrounded by a pack of Vulpix and a Ninetales, who demand them to return the Vulpix. But the Vulpix is scared to see a lot of angry Vulpix and Ninetales, causing it to cry, Alice holds it in her arms and says, "There, there, you don't need to be sacred, they didn't mean it."
Ash turns to the pack, who is looking at them with a lot of surprise and shock. Ash says, "If you really are the birth mother of Vulpix, then why did you abandon the egg? It was alone until we found her. Do you realize that she would have died in the wild without any guidance, right?"
The pack is feeling guilty, and one of them tells them that the egg was actually stolen by a Skarmory. And they have been searching for it ever since, and after learning the truth, Alice and Ash are the ones feeling bad as they try to apologize to them. The Ninetales sees how Ash and Alice are close to the new born Vulpix, she decides to leave it to their care and gives them a Fire Stone.
"Why are you giving us this?" Alice asks, Ninetales replies, "I trust you to take care of my baby, when the time comes, I hope she becomes a beautiful Ninetales with a strong bond with you two."
Ash and Alice nod as they take the stone, but Vulpix, who is still in Alice's arms, touches it and it evolves into a Ninetales.
"Ninetales? But why? You are still too young..." Ash says, but Ninetales replies that after seeing her birth mother, she really like what Ninetales looks like. Ash then promises her that he will try to teach her a lot of moves and she agrees.
And as they continue forward, they see a Vileplume passing by, and it seems to recognize Ash. Alice asks, "Ash, do you know this Vileplume?"
"I don't know. Unless we are close to the Hidden Village..." Ash takes out a Pokeball and then a Venusaur comes out. It immediately recognizes the Vileplume and they greet with each other.
"I knew it, you were the Oddish from before, right? How is Melanie doing?" Ash says.
"She is doing fine taking care of us, but I left there, because I want to be independent." Vileplume says.
"Ash, who is Melanie and what is the story of it?" Alice asks in confusion.
Ash replies, "Remember I told you how I captured Bulbasaur?" Alice nods and says, "You said that it lived in the Hidden Village to protect Pokemon from humans. Do you mean we are close to the hidden village?"
Ash says, "Yeah. But I wouldn't suggest going there, since the road to the place is full of traps. Melanie set it up so that humans like us won't go there to capture injured or abused Pokemon.
"That is considerate." Alice nods, and the Vileplume decides to challenge Venusaur to a battle, and he agrees. Ash wants Alice to command Venusaur while he becomes the referee, Alice is a little hesitant, but Venusaur tells her not to worry about it.
As the match begins, it fires out Moonblast, much to their surprise. "I never know Vileplume can learn that move." Alice says. "Venusaur, use Double-Edge!"
Venusaur nods and then it charges at the Vileplume, causing it to fall backwards. But it gets up quickly and then uses the move Grassy Terrain. Ash says, "The Grassy Terrain boosts the Grass moves and gives the restores the HP of Pokémon on the ground a little every turn."
Then it uses Giga Drain, and Venusaur feels its energy being sucked. "Use Petal Dance." Alice says.
The Petal starts to fly around the Vileplume, but eventually, it makes Venusaur confused, Vileplume uses the chance to use Natural Gift, with the Cheri Berry, it is Fire Type and it is Super Effective.
"Venusaur...are you okay?" Alice asks, but Venusaur is struggling to get up, Ash says, "Alice, don't panic, calm down and think of a way to counter."
Alice nods as she closes her eyes, then she says, "Venusaur, use Synthesis." Venusaur regains its Health Points and then Vileplume tries to use Giga Drain again, but Alice says, "Use Leech Seed."
The attack causes the Pokemon to be tied with seeds. Alice smiles and says, "Now finish it with Frenzy Plant."
Two large vines pop out of the ground and then slaps the Vileplume, causing it to faint in the end. "We won, Venusaur." Alice hugs the Pokemon, who nods back.
Venusaur walks towards the Vileplume, they shake hands and they know it is a great battle. Vileplume then turns to Ash, he says, "I want to join your team, is that fine?"
"Of course you can." Ash says as he takes out the Pokeball, with three shakes, it is captured in the end. "Now we have a Vileplume."
"Yeah, now we do have a lot of new Pokemon in our team just by heading towards the port." Alice says with a smile.
"Right, and Venusaur, return and have a good rest." Ash recalls the Pokemon as they feel hungry. Alice says, "Sounds like it is lunch time."
"Yeah, how about we take a rest and we introduce the others to our team?" Ash asks.
Then Ash and Alice send out Venusaur, Charizard, Pidgeot, 2 Butterfree, Fearow and Clefable, they introduce Ninetales, Wigglytuff and Vileplume to them and they are happy to have fun with them. While Pikachu and Eevee leading the other Pokemon to play, Ash and Alice start to cook their lunch.
And here is a new chapter, this time Ash captures a Ninetales, a Wigglytuff and a Vileplume. I decide to have Crobat captured in the Johto Chapter, I hope you understand. You can guess which type is the next gym.
