Chapter 10: Rise of Darkness
'Dani's hurt so many ghosts, all because they put Kitty in danger, but Aragon has hurt her instead.' Jazz thought to herself seeing all the ghosts that had been injured.
"Each ghost Danielle hurt, if not for her friends stopping her, would have been no more." Clockwork said sadly looking down at the ground. He turned back to the portal and waved his hand allowing the image to start moving again.
===Clockwork's Tale===
Aragon laughed at seeing Dani's glare. "Oh did I hurt that weakling? I'm soooo sorry." He cried out sarcastically.
"Ember, Spectra. Get Kitty away..." Dani said coldly. "And do not try to stop me. He is dead." She said flying at the black dragon.
Aragon laughed even louder hearing Dani's words. "You will never beat me, let alone kill me child!" He cried out swiping one of his massive claws at the ghost girl.
Dani caught the dragons swipe in one of her hands. She smirked, lifting her free hand, green ectoplasm coating it and extending out into what seemed a green claw. She brought her hand down causing Aragon to scream out in pain as he backed away, his claw missing.
"You whore!" He cried out glaring at Dani who held his severed claw.
"You will not live to see another day. You will never hurt anyone again, let alone Kitty..." Dani said coldly before tossing the claw up and destroying it with an ecto-beam.
Aragon roared as he sent a gout of flame at the girl. A moment before the flame hit Dani he saw her take a wide stance and take a deep breath. As she exhaled she began screaming an echoing scream, waves of energy extending out from the sound of her voice and causing the flames to dissipate.
"What in the world?" Aragon said in shock seeing his flames batted away.
"A new power... perfect." Dani said with a smirk.
She widened her stance even more and began to scream her echoing scream waves of energy crashing into the black dragon with a massive thud, sending him flying.
Aragon stood up and smirked. "What was that? Some kind of bug bite?" He said laughing.
Dani's eyes widened. 'So... it's not that strong, but how was it able to disperse those flames?' She thought to herself. 'Wait... they were right next to me, so I'd bet I have to be close for it to work right, at least until I train in it.' She thought.
Dani's head jerked up hearing Aragon roar, and watched as he charged her, mouth agape. Dani raised her hands and caught the dragon by two of his massive teeth as they were about to sink into her.
"Now burn!" Aragon cried as he took a breath.
Dani grunting holding back the dragon unable to pull away to dodge the flames she knew was coming. She lifted her head and took a deep breath. As she saw the flames rolling up the dragon's throat, she yelled out into his mouth shockwaves of energy erupting from her mouth and into the dragon's maw. The shockwaves dispersed the flames as Aragon's eyes widened in horror feeling the shockwave inside of his mouth.
Ember and Spectra watched in horror as Aragon's body began to bloat as Dani continued to scream.
"Dani!" Spectra cried out. "Stop! You're going to kill him!" She screamed needing to at least try and stop the halfa.
After only a few more moments the two women closed their eyes hearing the dragon pop like an overfilled balloon.
Dani smirked at the head of Aragon still in her hands while his body was gone, popped from her new power. She tossed the head away before blasting it with a beam and destroying it entirely.
Dani turned to look towards where Ember, Spectra, and Kitty were and paled at how Ember and Spectra were looking at her in horror. She turned back around blinking at splattered ectoplasm everywhere from when she had blown up Aragon. Her blazing red eyes slowly shifted back to their normal green, causing the halfa to gasp out in pain as she returned to her human form.
Spectra blinked, her look of horror fading, as she looked at the human form of Dani. The halfa had not changed back into her human half in five years.
Dani was clutching her chest in pain, as all the pain from losing her family and friends once again hit her.
"What in the world happened?" A new voice called out.
Spectra and Ember looked up and saw Desiree the ghost genie looking over the splattered remains of Aragon. Spectra blinked before smiling knowing one surefire way to help Dani.
"Desiree!" Spectra called out to the genie, causing both her and Ember to look over at Spectra. "I wish Dani wasn't burdened by the pain of losing her family." She cried out.
Desiree looked over at Dani, clutching her chest in pain before looking back over at Spectra. "I'm sorry Spectra. My power's don't work on wishes made by ghosts. Only humans." The genie said sadly.
Dani slowly looked over at where Kitty was and smiled, wanting to get back to her, before noticing a green ghost tail above her. She turned her head to look, her eyes widening at the sight of Desiree.
"Desiree." Dani cried out, causing the genie to look down and smirk. "I wish I was strong enough to forget this pain!" She screamed out.
The ghost genie smiled and began waving her hand around. "So you have wished it, so shall it be!" She cried out throwing her magic at the ghost girl. "Wait... what... what is happening?" She cried out feeling herself being pulled towards the halfa.
Spectra and Ember watched in shock as Desiree's own magic forced the genie into Dani, causing the halfa to scream out in mild pain, before passing out.
"What in the world happened?" Ember asked in shock. "Did... did Dani's wish accidently force Desiree to fuse with her?"
"I... I don't know Ember." Spectra replied looking at the prone girl. "Maybe we should get the two of them home, we can watch over them there. Kitty's burns aren't that bad and should be healed up in a few hours."
Ember nodded her head and picked up Kitty. "You got Dani?"
"Yeah, I'll get her." Spectra said, flying over to Dani's prone body.
Two hour's later Ember and Spectra were talking to each other while watching over Kitty and Dani. They had laid the two in bed together and sat in a couple chairs so they would be there when they woke up.
Kitty let out a groan as she slowly woke up. "Oww... what happened?" She said softly, as she sat up in bed.
"Easy there Kitty." Ember said, walking over to Kitty's side of the bed with a smile. "You got burned by Aragon but your home now."
"Aragon?" Kitty asked in a daze before her eyes snapped wide open. "Dani!" She cries out looking around before noticing her girlfriend asleep beside her in her human form. "Why... why is Dani in her human form?"
"We don't know to be honest." Spectra said having stood up and walked over next to Ember. "After you got hurt, you passed out. Dani went crazy and attacked Aragon, even using a new attack." She said crossing her arms.
"What... what happened?" Kitty asked softly.
"Aragon will never hurt anyone again. In this world or the real one." Ember said looking down. "Dani ended his existence. Once she realized what had happened she turned back into her human form and began crying out in pain."
"Desiree came to see what the commotion was about, and I made a wish to her, but I forgot that her powers only work when a human makes a wish." Spectra said with a sigh. "I don't know if Dani heard me try and make a wish or if she saw Desiree and had the same idea as me, but she made a wish that she was strong enough to forget her pain. When Desiree cast the spell for some reason it seemed to draw her into Dani, but why, we have no idea."
"Drew her into Dani? What do you mean?"
"Like Spectra said, we don't know. She was just drawn into Dani." Ember said with a sigh.
The three girls heard another groan and turned towards the halfa. They all watched as she sat up in bed and rubbed her head. When she opened her eyes all three of them gasped in shock. Instead of Dani's normal blue eyes as a human, they were bright red.
"Da... Dani?" Kitty said softly.
Dani looked at Kitty, tilting her head. "Yes Kitten?" She asked sweetly.
"Are... are you okay?"
Dani blinked at the green haired ghost confused. "Ummm... Yeah... now that you ask, I do feel a lot better than I have in a long time." She said happily, stretching her arms out.
Kitty, Spectra, and Ember just sat in shock as they looked at Dani. Each time Dani would go crazy and try to kill someone for almost hurting Kitty, she would be in agony over her memories for more than a day, sometimes more.
"Umm... are you sure you're okay Dani?" Spectra asked, seeing Kitty still in shock. "After what happened, normally you are not so... happy."
Dani let out a huff and crossed her arms over her breasts. "Prince Ara-gant-on had that coming to him for a long time." She said with a sneer, the red in her eyes glowing for a moment. She looked down at herself in confusion feeling something off. "Why am I in my human form?"
Everyone looked between each other before looking back to Dani.
"You... don't know?" Kitty asked.
Dani shook her head. "Last thing I remember is Prince Aragon exploding." She said, shrugging her shoulders as a red ring appears around her feet and slowly moves up her body, changing her into her ghost form. "What?" She asked, seeing everyone's confused looks.
"You changed..." Ember said, her eyes wide.
Dani blinks before looking down. The colors on her outfit had flipped around. Her boots and gloves were now black instead of white while the main portion of her outfit was white instead of black.
"Wow..." Dani said, taking in the sight of her outfit. "How did my outfit change?"
"It's more than your outfit Dani." Spectra said, moving around the bed to sit next to the halfa. "Your ears changed." She said poking the now pointed ears. "And your eyes have been red since you woke up."
"What caused me to change?" She asked softly.
"Could it be?" Ember began to say, looking at Kitty and Spectra.
"It's the biggest change." Spectra said.
"Dani..." Kitty called, causing her girlfriend to look at her. "According to Spectra and Ember you made a wish to Desiree when you saw her."
"You wished you had the strength to forget your pain." Spectra said placing a hand onto Dani's.
"We watched as the wish drew Desiree into you. We think your wish made her fuse with you to give you more strength." Ember finished.
===Dani's Room===
Jazz looked at the portal seeing what Dani had become. She looked like Dark Danielle. She was missing her blue skin, flaming hair, and cape but besides that she was the same as she remembered.
"This is when Dark Danielle is truly born." Clockwork said waving a hand to the red eyes Dani. "By fusing with Desiree her ghost half became much stronger and overpowered her human half there by taking over. Since her ghost half is the one in control now her humanity has been suppressed."
"What about her feelings for Kitty?" Jazz asked.
"Ahh... now that is the key. Her feelings for Kitty did shine through her ghost half, but in less than six months they got into a fight. Kitty wanting to stop the fight tries to calm Danielle, but that causes her to just crush her hand and fly off in a rage. At that point what small bit of humanity shone because of her feelings for Kitty... vanished." Clockwork said sadly looking down at the floor.
