Sports Festival Battle Royale

There was a brief standoff; Izuku's declaration had stunned Shinso. The crowd was cheering, but to Izuku it sounded muffled. It didn't matter, as far as he was concerned, there was only the battle that lay ahead. The battle in which he was outnumbered badly. Thirty-nine hero course students, and a whole lot more from the other courses. In theory, the latter would be less dangerous than the former, but the last five minutes had shown him the folly of underestimating those students.

He evaluated his options- there were too many to fight all at once. He could run and hide in the structures Cementoss had set up, but that would only buy him a few minutes at most. Perhaps the worst problem that faced Izuku was a simple one- he had no idea how he'd broken out of Shinso's control, which meant he had no idea how to free his classmates.

But there was one option, if Shinso was out of bounds then he'd be forced to release his classmates. Then they'd be able to fight fairly.

"How?" came a voice, confusion mixed with fear and a tinge of something else. Relief? "How did you break out?"

Izuku remained silent, fingers clenched. He couldn't speak back to him, he had to be silent. Shinso sighed, "I wasn't going to do it again, you know that right?"

Izuku stayed silent of course, it would be too easy a trick.

"You heard what they said right? What Eraserhead said. He said this was a fair tactic, a good one even! If this was the real thing-"

"THIS ISN'T THE REAL THING!" Izuku bellowed without thinking, "this is a sports festival, and my classmates are not villains. They are hardworking students whose future depends on this festival. I WON'T LET YOU RUIN IT FOR THEM!"

Shinso broke eye contact, "I can't lose this either. I won't, you give me no choice. At least this way we still have a sports festival. Attack him"

Izuku had only a few seconds, then all hell broke out. Ice streaked across the floor; vines sprouted from the ground, binding his right arm. Several people approached him, one blurred towards him. It was Tenya, and his punch came next. Throwing Izuku to the ground, scuffing his body as he rolled across the concrete before slamming into a wall.

It was a mercy however, as dozens of quirks and powers were unleashed where he had been not just a moment before. He nonetheless had no time to sigh in relief as he felt two legs; one metal and one hardened, kicked him into the wall. Izuku felt the back of his head slammed against the concrete, and everything turned fuzzy. A person with a headband rushed up, and pressed his right hand against the wall. When Izuku tried to pull away he found his hand fused to the wall, and when he tried to fight with his left, he found Mineta's balls gluing it to the wall.

He saw his classmates approaching him, slowly drawing on him. It was unnerving to watch their blank faces moving for the kill. Kacchan's own stoic expression did not match his friend's normally enraged demeanor. He could only imagine what his childhood friend would say to him now.

He didn't need to imagine it, he remembered it from all those days before he met All Might. He remembered when he was on the ground in pain, sobbing. With his ash haired friend standing over his beaten body with a derisive sneer on his face.

" You're not a hero, Deku! You're too weak to save anyone!"

Back in the present, those words sunk into him, igniting a flame of defiance. He wouldn't be weak anymore, he'd be strong and save everyone. He wouldn't go down so easily, he'd go beyond.

"PLUS ULTRA!" he screamed, infusing one for all into his bones, ripping the concrete from the wall. Hauling two slabs of concrete the size of doors, he charged to his feet. He waved wildly, the slab on his right hand slammed into two bodies. Concrete slammed against hardened skin and steel.

But his classmates were not stopping, Kacchan charged on Izuku's left side. Izuku braced but could not dodge.

BOOM

The slab of concrete fused to his left shattered, chunks concrete slammed into his infused skin. Several patches of his arm and skin turned a nasty shade of purple, but he was not finished. And he had one free arm.

"TEXAS SMASH!" he yelled, throwing his full arm into Kacchan's jaw. Infused with the durability if not the strength of a full one for all smash, yet still one that still sent his friend to the ground.

The act though, stunned Izuku more than it stunned Kacchan. A fatal mistake as Izuku felt five fingers slap across his cheek, and all the weight in his body disappear. As he scrambled to gain a footing to prevent himself from floating into the air, he suddenly found himself in someone else's grip.

But there was no one holding him, looking around Izuku saw a girl with silver hair covering her right eye, looking at him with her hands held up.

"Oh dear…"

He was slammed into the ground, the other concrete slab shattering as he did so. He was raised and slammed down for one, two, three more times. His head spun, and the world seemed to slosh around like water.

And then he was thrown into the air, swirling through the concrete buildings. Out of bounds! He couldn't fight it, he had only one option. He raised a fist towards the outskirts of the stadium and yelled with the full force of his lungs.

"DETROIT SMASH!"

His body buckled as if he was caught in a car crash, but it did the trick. The silver haired girl's control over him broke and he flew like a bullet into the concrete buildings. If one for all had not been infused into him, he'd be dead. As for right now, he had a lucky reprieve. None of the classmates had spread into the buildings, all concentrated on him.

With great effort, he pulled himself to his knees, the numb pain of his muscles began to disappear only leaving behind agony. He feared staying still for too long, at least the numbness disappeared completely, forcing him to fight with a body that felt like it wanted to snap off.

He could hear his classmates spread out looking for him, it seemed Shinso didn't know which building he had fallen into. That was good because he needed a new strategy, and time to think.

It was obvious he couldn't beat his classmates, even if it appeared that his classmates were not as skilled under mind control, there were too many of them and too many quirks. He needed a plan, his time was dwindling. Likely only fifteen minutes left of full infusion.

There were holes in the walls functioning as windows he could look out of, being careful not to be so obvious. He wasn't actually that far away from where Shinso was, and few of his classmates remained with him. There was Mezo, some kid who looked like a mantis, the kid with a headband who fused him to the wall earlier and Todoroki, who seemed to have encased Shinso in some kind of ice sphere. Likely as some kind of protection, but he could probably smash through it. He wasn't close enough now, but the next building was just a few feet away. It was far, he could fall, and using one for all would draw attention.

He drew a deep breath and charged, muscles screaming in protest as he pushed them further. He jumped, slammed into the other wall. The concrete slipped through his fingers, feet scrambling to find a ledge, only at the tips of had he finally gotten a grip.

He let out a breath, and started to pull himself up with great difficulty. Every inch was a struggle, but he eventually climbed onto the building. He collapsed on the roof for a few vital much needed breathes before pulling himself to his feet.

With the wind breezing through his hair, he stared down at the sphere below him. He could see the crowd surrounding him, perhaps he was unnoticed by them. In truth, he was more focused on the fight between both the crowd and commentary. There seemed to be little more than buzzing in his ear, so he focused on the fight. He had Shinso in his sights, he could do this one.

He took in a deep breath, infused one for all into his body again, and pounced.

"FULL INFUSION!" he screamed, pulling his fist back, unleashing 100% of his power. Through the ice, he saw Shinso turn around sharply, his eyes widened, "DETROIT SMASH!"

He punched with his full might into the thick layers of ice, the shockwave rippled outwards, his hypnotized classmates were catapulted away. Dust went everywhere, enough that Izuku had to cover his face with his free arm, the concrete buildings began to crack, some even collapsed.

But as the dust began to settle, and Izuku could see clearly he was left with one simple reality.

The ice didn't break, it didn't crack. But how?

Izuku's confused mind reached out for answers, and for the first time since he'd broken out of Shinso's mind control, he began to listen to the commentary.

"Woah- hold on a moment there ladies and gentlemen. We all saw that nasty punch right there should have shattered that block of ice, why is it not even cracked Eraserhead?" Present Mic asked, only to receive a sigh in return.

"Didn't you read the profiles of the student's I gave you? That's most likely a combination of Todoroki and Yosetsu Awase's quirk. Todoroki can control both ice and fire, so he used it to make a fortress of ice, while Awase can fuse two objects together at a molecular level. It seems Shinso thought of a creative use, fusing the ice with itself so it's held together much more strongly. It's probably stronger than concrete now."

That was bad, but Izuku had no time to worry. At the next moment, Mezo seized him from behind, lifting him in the air and leaving him to just kick the air. He was dragged away from Shinso, until he was able to kick Mezo in the shin, loosening his grip and letting Izuku escape.

But now, the rest of the students were coming at him in the corners just as he felt his feet be frozen. Surrounded again, but this time he was trapped. He needed another-

"UGH!" he groaned and he was slammed into from behind, breaking the ice, but sending him into the ground. Then he was slammed to the ground by a man with a beastly appearance, then Kirishima, Mezo and the metal man. Under the weight of all four he was pinned down, it was suffocating.

"Fight it… Izuku…" He gasped, pushing against them, trying to escape. One hand managed to claw its way out of the dogpile, but more and more of his classmates were using their quirks to pin him down. And he could feel the power of one for all slip away the more he used it.

"Woah- hang on a minute ladies and gentlemen, some of the kids are leaving the battle, their they're leaving the stage!" Present Mic announced.

"WHAT?" Izuku gasped, clawing his head out from the pile. Sure enough, he could see his classmates walking towards the edge of the arena. Todoroki, Uraraka, Tenya, Bakugo.

"NO!" he shouted, reaching forward. Only to find his hand stamped on by one of his hypnotized classmates. He saw them walking out of the arena, and each of their dreams ended with it. Bakugo's unyielding drive and ambition, all for naught. Tenya's family would be so disappointed, and Uraraka's desire to help her family would shrivel up. Thrown away before they even had a chance.

He looked back to Shinso, still safe within the fused ice. But the concrete beneath him wasn't, but he'd need a running start, and there'd be no way to stop. Gritting his teeth, there was no choice.

With his free hand, he clenched it into a fist, ignoring the throbbing pain, and faced it down into the pavement. Sparing every bit of power he could muster, he threw his fist down.

"DELAWARE SMASH!"

Power spread from the impact, clearing his classmates away. He too was thrown in the air, and slammed into the fall. Disoriented, but not unfocused, he scrambled to his feet and began to run as fast as his legs could carry him. He was far, but he could see Shinso. In the corner of his eyes, he could see Uraraka less than a few steps from out of bounds. He had to run.

Vines wrapped around his arm, but this time he yanked back, pulling the girl into him. With his other hand he smashed her into the ground. No time to check, he had to keep going. Mina was in front, spraying acid. He covered his eyes, his sleeves tearing, but kept running.

He was in position, the angle was right, Shinso was in sight. He channeled power into his legs and pounced. The breeze wind blasting into his face as if he was facing a hurricane, he pulled back his right fist. And channeled everything he had left into it, and a little bit more.

"DETROIT- SMASH!"

The concrete under the ice broke, sending the ball of ice soaring through the air like a bullet, crashing through three buildings. Soaring with unstoppable momentum, It disappeared from sight. He panicked until he heard Midnight's voice;

"HITOSHI SHINSO IS OUT OF BOUNDS!"

He did it, he saved them. He cherished that happy thought, as he tumbled to the ground. Smiling, he relaxed just a brief moment, until he noticed where his foot had landed.

"IZUKU MIDORIYA IS OUT OF BOUNDS!"

A/N: Hey, hey put down those pitchforks please, let me explain. If I allowed Izuku to take down his entire class by simply powering through then he'd become broken and all future fights would lose all tension. Even if I justified it by saying they were less skilled when mind controlled (which they are by the way), it would still allow Izuku to effectively power through any fight. So I went with this instead, now if you excuse me, I'm running to the nearest bunker I can find and hiding in it for a few years.

Also, two people have requested the use of the full infusion concept in their own fanfics, so I'll be clear that you don't need to ask me if you want to use any of the ideas of the story. Provided you don't rip it off word for word, I'm quite eager to see what a better author makes of the ideas, but please both credit me and send me a link so I can see them.
