Chapter 10. An uncomfortable truth

"Do you have a minute Dr. Yoon?"

Ji Hoo was sitting behind his desk, checking a mountain of papers and documents, he raised his gaze and looked at Jan Di who was entering to his office closing the door behind her. The simple fact of seeing her filled her heart and made him smile.

"Maybe five minutes for you Mrs. Yoon" he answered.

Jan Di smiled and approached to him, she sat down on the chair in front of him.

Ok, it had been a month since Jan Di had broken their inside rule, they were still getting used to each other, however having a 'normal marriage' and since that day sharing a bed every day had been the best thing for both of them, like a gift opened for the fisrt time every day.

"Hey! I'm using my lunch time to talk with you, I want more than five minutes" she replied

"Arasso, arasso" Ji Hoo surrendered.

"Also, you are going to graduate in two days and I was thinking that maybe we could-"

But Ji Hoo knew exactly what she wanted it, he was very shy and reserved, but he was not stupid, and the last days she only talked and talked through phone with Ga Eul about cities, and all these magazine subscriptions that were hidden inside their drawers in their bedroom made clear things for him.

"I owe you a proper honeymoon, aren't I? So, choose the place and after graduation we can go"

Jan Di's eyes lighted.

She stood up and started to walk around all the office.

"I wasn't thinking like that, I just wanted to celebrate your graduation, sunbae-"

Ji Hoo stood up too, he reached Jan Di's arms and made her stop. Then he wrapped his arms around her.

"And I already have a few things in mind for that celebration" his lips brushed against her ear, she also smiled and thanked heaven that her back was to him.

"Sunbae!"

"Again sunbae? Last night it was 'Ji Hoo-yah'"

Jan Di hit him in the ribs with her elbow, then turned to him, Ji Hoo made an awful face but then laughed.

"Well, before you kill me or broke me something, where do you want to go? Indonesia? New Delhi? Maybe Rome? Germany? Barcelona's beaches?"

But Jan Di shooked her head.

"Greek Islands are my favorite places in the world" he said.

Jan Di sighed.

"I already visited each one of them, last year my father took us in a tour, also my dad's company's international meetings sometimes were in a different place mostly Europe"

"But you weren't there with me" Ji Hoo wanted to say but Jan Di spoke again:

"However, I don't know Paris" She said, getting closer to him as she linked her arms around his neck.

"Do you want to go to France? That's kind of cliché" he replied. Ji Hoo tried to calm himself, because a heavy thought came to his mind, and that thought had long dark hair, very sculpture figure, and a beautiful face.

"Plus, grandfather want me to inspect the foundation brand there in Paris and it's an amazing opportunity"

He frowned.

"So, you want me in Paris for a business trip?"

Jan Di laughed "It's not like that, it will be amazing, we can make a lot of things both of us and-"

"I'm sure we can enjoy better another place, next year we can go to Paris"

"Sunbae, please"

She knew exactly how to convince him, how to move his weak points.

"Okay, let's go to Paris next week"

Jan Di leaned to him a pressed her lips with his, a slow and sweet kiss, he kissed back enjoying the sensation of having her, those last days Ji Hoo practically knew by heart the contour of Jan Di's lips, their texture and taste. Unfortunately Ji Hoo's mind were in another place, he still was thinking about Seo Hyun, he knew she was there in that country's capital. And they haven't talked to each other since the day they broke up. Seo Hyun was an amazing person with a great charisma, however, thing between them ended in a very bad way, and for some reason Ji Hoo hadn't told anything to Jan Di about her.

"Jan Di, I need to tell you something" He said breaking the kiss, she blinked.

All the words were hitting hard inside his head, this time neither the many book he had read in his entire life nor the experience achieved in F4 could set all his thoughts together. Jan Di in front of him seemed too desperate to listen to him, even he tried to concentrate his mind in all the furniture around, and his office had a lot of stuff.

In the right moment a nurse entered without knocking the door, she looked paled and agitated.

"Sorry, but it's an emergency. Someone trying to use the special free plan is entering in the ICU, I'ts a heart arrest"

The young woman with short hair didn't need to say anything else, because Ji Hoo and Jan Di ran through the door towards the emergency ward.

They quickly arrived, Ji Hoo put himself a pair of gloves and a mask then entered, normally Jan Di did not work in the general emergency area, this time was different, it was true that Suam Foundation of Yoon Group had a private side, this included the music foundation, the clinic a soccer teams, however Ji Hoo's grandpa had designed for each institution an special program completely free for those who couldn't afford it, therefore she wanted to enter to the ICU with Ji Hoo, but when she saw Ga Eul's mom standing in the hall , she froze.

The woman was there crying and embracing herself, her slender figure, her hair tied in a bun, and her simple clothes reminded Jan Di of those years when she went to school with Ga Eul or when she went to the Chu home for sleepovers.

Jan Di approached to her instead, Ga Eul's mom was so immerse in her own thoughts.

"Mrs. Chu?"

The woman stared at her, blinked a couple of times.

"Are…are you Geum Jan Di?"

Of course, they hadn't seen each other since Jan Di were eleven or twelve years old. Jan Di nodded.

"Omo, is Mr. Chu there right?" Jan Di's voice was really worried, mostly because Ga Eul had a strong bond with her dad, and if something happened Ga Eul wouldn't handle it.

The woman took her arm, Jan Di stepped back.

"Please, tell me that what that woman said it's not true"

Jan Di frowned. Ga Eul was her best friend, she knew for sure that she and Yi Jeong were to tell her parents about the baby when he was again in Seoul, but what was Mrs. Chu talking about?

"I don't understand what woman? Is Ga Eul alright?"

"My husband is not alright, he can die because of our daughter's decisions. We strive to raise Ga Eul with a good education, to be a simple, good, respectful girl. And look, she ended up in a rich man bed. She cannot hope that with a child she will take away that man's fortune. Of course you can no longer understand the penalties of people like us, but why did Ga Eul do that?" Mrs. Chu was already altered. Jan Di was perplex, she tried to palm the back of the woman.

As he was still in a delicate position, he was in the ICU, and only one person could come to see him, Ga Eul came in alone with a medical suit since her mother was nowhere to be seen. She looked at her dad for several seconds and her tears couldn't be contained.

"Appa, I wish you can forgive me" she murmured "Please..."

But her tears were not helping. Her heart was wrinkling inside her, even when she didn't regret what had happened between her and Yi Jeong in her birthday, she still knew that it was a terrible mistake, at least to keep it from her parents.

"Even when I let you down, I promise I will try to fix this, and I will be a good parent's role for this baby like you are"

Mr. Chu seemed so oblivious to everything his daughter was whispering through tears. He was completely wired to a bunch of gadgets and his face was surrounded by an oxygen hose. After several minutes Ga Eul left the room, then she changed to her own clothes, her face was red for crying, when she was ready to look for her mom or Jan Di, she found her mother.

"Are you happy now?"

"Omma, I-"

"This is unbelievable, Chu Ga Eul. How do you dare to lie to us? What did you want? Money? We raised you knowing the value of work"

"Mom, no. I swear this was not in my plans, and I'm still working hard. Just-"

"Just what? A child before getting married? That's not the education your father and I gave you!"

Ga Eul sighed again, that hall was empty but still they were in a clinic, she wanted her mom to low the voice's tone.

"Yi Jeong and I will take the responsibility"

"Oh, of course you will, that woman already told us that you ruin his son engagement"

"What? No!"

"Mrs. Chu" a fatty nurse called, both of the women turned to her "We need you to complete the form for requesting the medications, those that the patient needs are highly expensive, however within the free plan the cost is lowered up to 80%, the rest I am afraid is on your own. Follow me please"

"But we-"

"Just follow the nurse, don't worry about the money, mom"

And before her mother could replied the nurse lead her to the other side of the hall.

For a moment Ga Eul felt a pang in her stomach, a light pain. She breathed again and walked to the exit, she didn't want to disturb Yi Jeong, maybe he was busy, and on the other hand her friends…suddenly the idea of facing Yi Jeong's mother crossed her mind.

Next day things were cooling down for everyone, Ga Eul's dad shad woken up and was in a room out of danger, however Ga Eul didn't want to see him because she didn't know how he was going to react again, over all when she was having a little baby bump.

For others, things were heating up, Woo Bin, Jae Kyung and Jun Pyo were flying to Macau, the last days of August they had spent days searching info about Jun Pyo's brother in law, and the most complicated thing were protect to Jan Di and Ga Eul who were constantly followed by Jun Hee's husband's men, but Woo Bin's men of preventing it and making the girls not even notice what happened around her.

"We can go to Ruins of St. Paul's" Jae Kyung said, she was sitting in front of Woo Bin and Jun Pyo, at Jun Pyo's private plane.

"This is not a vacation trip, monkey. This is something really big and serious"

"I'm talking to Woo Bin, thanks." She replied "And, your big sister wants to disappear from the map, it's not my fault. I need to remind you that thanks to my contacts I located this man Oh Jin Kang and his precious wife, your sister"

Jun Pyo rolled his eyes as Woo Bin checked something in his cellphone. Suddenly Jae Kyung stood up and started to unbutton her shirt.

"Hey! What are you think you're doing?" Jun Pyo complained, which made Woo Bin looked at the young woman.

"It's almost night, we're attending to a private event at The Venetian hotel where your sister and her husband is. So, start changing clothes too. Unless the two of you want to make a trio with me, which I would love to do of course" she winked at them.

The two men were really confuse and their expression made Jae Kyung laugh, the girl started to walk to one of the bathroom of that big plane for fixing her clothes.

Jun Pyo wished to really enjoy that night. Macau's nights were the best, the view as always was exquisite, the atmosphere of that hotel was pleasant, the music was very light, and the people devoted to their own affairs, he really did not know how his brother-in-law could be in an event like this, it was clear that this man had very refined tastes. , and a very good eye for business.

Jun Pyo was already in the middle of the room where the event was taking place, when he looked up he could see his friend Woo Bin dressed in a gray suit, going arm in arm with Jae Kyung, the girl was beaming in a long turquoise blue dress but not represented an important thing for Jun Pyo.

"Do you think that you are models or what?" Jun Pyo said when he approached to them.

"Someone is jealous…" Jae Kyung commented.

"Woo Bin, Oh Jin Kang cannot see you, and you know it" he said ignoring Jae Kyung.

"There's a lot of people here, Jun Pyo I don't think that" but Woo Bin turned around. Jun Pyo and Jae Kyung looked at the direction where Woo Bin was seeing, and they saw OH Jin Kang next to Jun Hee. She looked amazing in a black long dress.

"Okay, your sister looks spectacular, we are wasting time here. Let's go. Woo Bin you need to stop seeing her, so Jin Kang stops the threats towards all of you" Jae Kyung emphasized.

"Ha-ha, the real problem is that she is being abused. No woman deserves such a life. And much less when all she did was because Jun Pyo didn't have an arranged marriage" Woo Bin told Jae Kyung.

Jae Kyung was going to reply something, and Jun Pyo wanted to say something but he almost speechless when his sister approached them, now there was no sign of Jin Kang, the dance floor was filling up, and more groups of people were starting to drink more.

"The three of you follow me right now" Jun Hee whispered.

Meanwhile, in Seoul things were going well for Ji Hoo and Jan Di, they were having dinner with Ji Hoo's grandfather, the old man was happier knowing that finally his two favorite people was achieving happiness.

"Are you sure after graduation you will be alright, grandfather?" Jan Di asked.

He laughed.

"Come on! I have live an entire life alone, both of you deserve this"

Jan Di smiled, Ji Hoo was more concentrated in his food.

"Where are you two going to travel?"

"Paris" Jan Di answered. "And, I will take care of what you commented me about the foundation there, don't worry"

Seok Young erased the smiled from his face and looked at Ji Hoo. Jan Di was now interested in that silence conversation that the two men were having, and sure she could ask but her cellphone starting to ring.

"This is my mother, sorry. I'll be back in a few minutes" she said.

Jan Di stood up and walked to the living room, when she disappear, Ji Hoo's grandfather cleared his throat.

"I suppose she doesn't know anything about Min Seo Hyun. If Seo Hyun finds out you are flying to Paris she will look for you, she only want to clear things with you, but you still didn't read any of her letters, every envelope since last year is closed. Ji Hoo…Jan Di is your wife she has to know what happened"

"And she will know, I will tell her" he assured to his grandfather.

And, eight hours apart from Seoul was Yi Jeong, he was in Sweden for almost two months, trying to improve the businesses his family had in the capital and start investing in the most famous art universities in that country. But, in all that time his father had only got drunk and had been with women, and of course, tried to get Yi Jeong to sleep with someone.

Then the recall of a couple of minutes ago came to his mind. He had tried to call Ga Eul all day, but she didn't answer him, but after try and try she finally did.

"Is everything okay?" was the first thing he said.

"Hi, Yi Jeong, everything is okay" she calmly replied. Her voice was quite slow and soft. But, for some reason he didn't believe her. Maybe she had seen the magazine from the day before.

"Ga Eul, about the photos in the magazine, that was my father idea, anything that is there is truth" he suddenly commented.

Ga Eul took several seconds to answer.

"I believe you, but this morning my mother saw that magazine and everything is falling apart, yes my parents already know, your mother she did all of this, my dad almost die Yi Jeong." Ga Eul's voice broke. And Yi Jeong felt really bad.

"What? what are you talking about?"

"I never wanted to ruin your amazing life, you know it? everything since our first date was like a fairytale to me. Maybe i'ts time to wake up" Ga Eul said.

"Are you breaking up with me, Ga Eul-yang?"

"You never believed in soulmates, you told me that. But, you know? soulmates can't break up, they can take separate paths, but always will be connected" Ga Eul answered.

"I'm going to give your mother what she wants. Just promise me, you will watch for our baby"

Ga Eul's crying voice had made him react, he still was confused.

"Wait. Ga Eul!"

But she hung up.

It took him too long to decide, but there was no going back, he was already heading to Seoul, without the consent of his father, in a few hours he would land on Asian soil. He looked back at his baby's ultrasound, that little black and white image was able to keep him breathing so many days away from home, now he was hoping that at least his mother could support him.

A/N: Drama off. OMG, I've never thought I never thought I'd get this far with this story, thank you. All the drama is already ending, there are only 3 more chapters left and that's it.
