"We don't have to go if you're too tired," Maura looked over towards the brunette sprawled on the bed. It was a long week of two a day practices for Jane. She looked like she was asleep already. Her bottom half in slim trimmed suit pants and her top half in just a black bra.

"No, I want to do this for you," Jane lifted her head off of the bed and slowly sat up. "Let's go look at some art," she groaned as she stood.

"We won't stay long," Maura encouraged as she slipped on a pair of heels. "Maybe an hour."

"Okay," Jane smiled up at her girlfriend. "You look so good in that dress." Jane pulled on her crisp white button down. Jane was grateful for the weekend off and the fact that two a day conditioning practices were over. Now she could look forward to conditioning in the morning and skill building in the afternoon. Much less painful outcomes.

Maura grabbed her purse and followed Jane down the stairs. "I'll even drive so you can have a couple of beers," Maura offered as she grabbed her car keys.

"You're going to let me have a beer?" Jane's eyes widened. She hasn't had a beer in over a week, at least that the blonde knew of. Maura has only pushed electrolytes and water, it was easy when she was staying at Maura's because she only stocked electrolytes and water. However, a couple of nights this week Jane slept in her apartment and had snuck a couple of beers before the blonde had arrived.

"It is Friday," Maura winked as she locked the door behind her. The pair walked to Maura's car.

"So who's art gallery is this?" Jane questioned as Maura drove in the direction of center city.

"It's a friend from college. She opened up a gallery here in Boston when she moved back from Europe," Maura explained.

"Is it an ex from college?" Jane laughed.

"Why? Is it making you jealous?" Maura smirked at her girlfriend. The hues of the street lights shined on the brunette's features.

"I'm not jealous, I'm just trying to get a deeper understanding of why this is so last minute," Jane explained. She wasn't jealous, was she? She and Maura have never talked in depth about their dating history. Maura knew about Jessica and Jane knew about Maura's history of one night stands. Other than that, they haven't talked about more.

"She was a casual friend," Maura started. "We would come to each other when we needed release, but there was nothing more."

"So…not an ex?" Jane confirmed.

"I don't have any exe's Jane," Maura brushed Jane's knee with her hand. "You're the only one I have ever had any emotional connection with."

"Maur…" Jane sighed.

"I'm serious Jane. Nobody has ever made me feel like you have," Maura reassured Jane. "I love you Jane."

Jane smiled up at the blonde and laughed, "I love you too Maur."

Maura pulled the car up to the curb outside the bustling exhibit. She handed her keys to the valet and took the ticket. Maura looped her hand around Jane's arm and led them inside. "Are you nervous?"

"Of course I'm nervous. This is a college friend. I'm trying not to walk funny because I'm sore and I don't want to embarrass you," Jane explained as she put her sweaty hands in her pockets.

"You'll be fine," Maura kissed the brunette as they entered the elegant art space.

Jane was wide eyed as she took in the atmosphere of her surroundings. The abundance of windows allowed for a view of Boston, Jane has never quite seen before. The white marble floor a stark contrast to the dark art splattered around her. The quiet pop punk playing around her she had to strain to hear the words. She felt Maura tug at her arm as they continued through the foyer and into the actual gallery.

"Maura!" Jane heard someone call from feet away. A skinny blonde ran towards them with her arms wide open. She felt Maura release her and wrap the stranger in a tight embrace. Jane stood awkwardly to the side as she let the reunion take place. Jane shifted and put her hands back into her pockets as the stranger squealed, "how are you?" The stranger laughed as she pulled away.

"I'm good," Maura smiled. "This is my girlfriend, Jane Rizzoli," Maura gestured to Jane. "Jane, this is my good friend from college and the artist, Louise Henderson."

"Girlfriend?" Louise smiled. "I heard some rumors, but I didn't think they were true." She laughed. "I tried to get this girl to commit for three years."

"Stop it," Maura giggled in return.

Jane stood shocked, did Maura just giggle? Maura said they were casual and now Louise was talking about trying to get Maura to commit. "It's nice to meet you," Jane stuck her hand out. "The exhibit is wonderful," Jane forced a smile as she dropped Louise's hand. "I'm going to get us a couple of drinks," Jane feigned a smile and left for the direction of the open bar.

She stood shocked in front of the bar. Either Maura was lying about her relationship with Louise or they weren't on the same page about what they were at the time. Something that went on for three years you'd think they'd have talked about it. She wasn't even with Jessica that long.

Jane ordered herself a beer and Maura a glass of red wine as she heard a familiar voice, "Jane?"

Jane sighed, she didn't have enough energy to deal with maura's ex-casual not girlfriend and here she was running into her ex. She was exhausted after her first full week of official practices. She released a deep sigh and pulled herself together, plastered a smile on her face, and turned to see her ex, face to face. "Jess?"

"What are you doing here?" Jessica smiled as she approached Jane with a side hug. Jane winced, not only did Jess know that she hated being touched but she was still sore from practice. Here Jess was, hugging her.

"Um…" Jane pulled away as the two drinks were placed on the bar. "Thank you," she nodded towards the bartender. She picked up the two drinks and stared at her ex-girlfriend. All she wanted to do was go home and sleep until noon.

"I thought you didn't like art shows," Jessica laughed.

"Uh, I like art," Jane defended. Jess was right, she didn't usually like art shows. But, Maura did. "I'm here with…" Jane started when she was interrupted by Maura.

"Jane?" Maura smiled at her girlfriend. "You okay?"

"I'm good," Jane plastered another smile on her face. She watched the blonde frown, Maura knew she wasn't fine. She knew the differences in her smiles.

"Hi," Maura turned to the woman Jane was talking to. "I'm Maura."

"Hi," Jessica stuck her hand out to shake Maura's.

"How do you know Jane?" Maura charmed the stranger as she took the glass of wine from Jane's hand.

"Oh, Jane and I are," Jessica started. Jane noticed how uncomfortable Jessica was as she tried to define what their relationship was. It was obvious Jessica didn't read the article that came out last week. "Old friends," she finished.

"Maur," Jane looked at her current girlfriend. "This is Jessica, my ex," Jane watched as Maura raised her eyebrows and suddenly understood the discomfort radiating from her girlfriend.

"Ah," Maura nodded. "I understand now."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jessica looked at Jane.

"Nothing," Jane shook her head. "Maura knows about you and what went down between us."

"So you're out?" Jessica glared.

"Well, not by choice. But I am happy," Jane smiled brightly at Maura. "This is Maura, my girlfriend."

"We had an unfortunate run in with a tabloid," Maura laughed. "We were going to announce it the next day anyway."

"Announce what?" Jessica inquired.

Jane groaned, this was not something she really wanted to discuss, especially with Jess. "Dr. Maura Isles," Jane gestured to Maura. "Is the new team doctor. We met after the championship."

"Oh wow," Jessica stood uncomfortably in front of the couple. "You must have a lot of patience to deal with this injury prone athlete," she laughed. "This girl doesn't know the meaning of rest."

"You're telling me," Maura laughed along with her. "She's learning the importance of rest."

"Slowly but surely," Jane feigned laughter as she tugged on the blonde's elbow. Silently asking for her to lead them away from this conversation.

"Well, it was good to meet you Jessica," Maura smiled and looped her arm around Jane's. "We're going to look at the rest of the art space," Maura nodded her head and pulled Jane in the opposite direction. "You okay?" She whispered and watched as Jane took a deep breath and nodded her head.

Of course on the night she had almost no energy she ran into Maura's ex and now her ex. Both encounters draining the rest of the small energy she had left. "I'm fine, just tired Maur," Jane whispered.

"Do you want to leave?" Maura stopped to look at the brunette. "We can leave."

"No we just got her. You stay and have a good time with Louise. I know you've been looking forward to this. I'm going to take a cab back to my place and head to bed," Jane leaned down to kiss the blonde on the cheek. "I'll call you tomorrow."

"Is everything okay?" Maura questioned, worry lines evident on the blonde's face. "Are you okay?"

"I already told you I'm fine Maur," Jane snapped. She really didn't want to talk about this now, or at all. She wanted to go home, call Katie, and fall asleep. "I'll call you tomorrow," she kissed the blonde's cheek. "I love you," she pulled her arm away from Maura's and turned to walk out of the exhibit hall. Leaving a stunned Maura standing alone.

Jane felt bad, leaving Maura alone in the gallery. Maura gave her plenty of outs. She didn't have to go. She wanted to, for Maura. Then, Maura's casual ex-girlfriend admits she tried to get Maura to commit for three years and Jane ran into Jessica.

It could be the fact that Jane is physically and emotionally exhausted after what she has now named Hell Week. Hopefully, Jane's mood is just from within herself and she's not actually mad at Maura. Hopefully, Jane will wake up tomorrow feeling very different. Hopefully, Jane will come to realize she is overreacting. Hopefully, Maura will forgive her tomorrow.

Jane's cab pulled up to her apartment and she dialed her best friend's number. "Kate?" She spoke weakly into the phone as soon as she heard Katie answer.

"What happened Jane?" Katie sighed.

"I need you to tell me I'm overreacting," Jane pulled her apartment door open.

"You're overreacting," Katie laughed into the phone

"Can you come over?" Jane sighed as she dropped her keys and took off her shoes.

"Give me twenty minutes," Katie replied into the phone.

Jane popped open a beer and sat on her counter waiting for her best friend to arrive. Was she overreacting to Maura and Louise? Was she just on edge from running into Jessica?

She was starving, she ate a healthy dinner for Maura. She didn't say anything about her hunger because Maura promised ice cream tomorrow. She didn't have any ice cream here, but she could use some. Speaking of food, she didn't have any food here. Jane sighed again as she took another swig of beer.

The door knob began to turn and Katie walked in carrying a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's like Katie already knew what she was thinking.

"What happened?" Katie sighed.

"She said we were going to an art show of an old college friend. Then she said it was a casual sex friend. When she came up to us and said hi, it turns out Maura's casual is Louise's three years of trying to get Maura to commit." Jane downed the rest of her beer. "Three years of casual sex, is a commitment."

"It's not a commitment if they are also sleeping with someone else," Katie countered as she took Jane's empty beer and replaced it with the pint of ice cream and a spoon. "Why did you leave early?"

"I couldn't stay in that room any longer," Jane took her first bite and moaned. Just what she needed right now. "Plus Jessica was there. After I found out that Maura's casual sex friend lasted three years, I ran into Jessica."

"You're shitting me?" Katie laughed. "You ran into Jess?" Katie took the pint out of Jane's hand and scooped some into her mouth.

"Hey," Jane pouted. "That's my ice cream."

"No, I am sharing my ice cream with you," Katie reminded her. "Now tell me about Jess."

"The first thing she said was, 'what are you doing here? You don't like art'," Jane quoted her ex.

"That's not true," Katie feigned shock. "You love art when it involves naked women. To assume you hate all art is just juvenile."

"Shut up," Jane laughed. "I like art, because seeing the smile on Maura's face when we look at art makes me happy." Jane explained. "Tonight was supposed to make me happy."

"You hate art, but you love Maura. It's a normal response when you love someone," Katie validated. "What did she say next?"

"Maura introduced herself and all I could do was stare. I had no ability to form complete sentences. Maura knew who she was once she said her name. Maura staked her claim on me when she called me her girlfriend," Jane continued taking spoonfuls of ice cream.

"Ah I see the issue. You never called Jess your girlfriend in public," Katie remembered.

"Never. When Maura asked how we knew each other Jess said she was an old friend. Here I am introducing my girlfriend around," Jane explained further.

"You're afraid you hurt Jessica?" Kate watched the brunette nod. "Jess' happiness is not your responsibility anymore. If you introduced Maura as just a friend, that would have hurt Maura. That is something you are responsible for."

"Maura looked happy tonight," Jane sighed. "Until I told her I was leaving early."

"Spending time with you makes her happy," Katie explained. "You should call her."

"And tell her what?" Jane shrugged. "I'm sorry I'm such a jealous asshole, my bad," Jane's comment dripped with sarcasm.

"Yeah," Katie laughed. "Maybe without the 'asshole' part and the 'my bad' part. Other than that, I think it sounds good." Jane handed the half full pint of ice cream over to Katie and hopped off the counter to retrieve her phone. Katie put the ice cream in Jane's freezer. "Jeeze, you need to get some food in this place."

"I eat all of my meals at Maura's. Plus we're moving in together soon it doesn't make any sense to stock the fridge," Jane shrugged as she searched the counter top for her cell phone.

"You're what?" Katie whipped around to look at her best friend. "You're moving in?"

"Oh yeah," Jane scratched her forehead. "Did I not mention that?"

"You must've missed it," Katie laughed. "When did that happen?"

"Monday night after practice. We haven't settled on a date, I mean I still have this place till December," Jane shrugged. "It'll happen eventually though," Jane picked up her phone and started to dial the blonde when she heard a knock at the door.

"That's definitely Maura," Katie smiled.

Jane opened the door to reveal the blonde. "Hey, I was just about to call you," Jane sighed as she motioned for Maura to come in.

"You were about to call me?" Maura raised her voice. "You run into your ex and leave me at the art exhibit and all you have to say is 'I was going to call you'?"

"Maur," Jane started but was silenced by a finger in her face.

"Katie," Maura finally addressed her friend. "Would you give us some privacy?"

"Uh yeah," Katie grabbed her purse and her phone. "I was just leaving anyway," Katie turned her head so only Jane could see her. "She looks mad," Katie laughed and walked out of Jane's apartment.

"Jane Rizzoli, you better have a good explanation for leaving me," Maura pulled the brunette to the couch and forced her to sit. She stood in front of Jane with her arms crossed.

Jane Rizzoli was officially frightened, the enigma that is Maura Isles is seething. Jane swallowed her pride and all of her instincts to go on the offensive and sighed. "I'm sorry I was a jealous asshole," Jane whispered.

"I can't hear you. Speak louder please," Maura shifted her weight onto her right foot.

If Jane knew she wasn't in so much trouble, she would distract her by taking her to the bedroom. "I'm sorry I was a jealous asshole," Jane looked up to her girlfriend. "I'm sorry I couldn't control the emotions running through my head."

"Jane," Maura sighed. She reached for Jane's hand and pulled the brunette to a standing position.

"I'm sorry I left you in that exhibit hall all alone. I'm sorry you had to meet my ex like that. I'm sorry I wasn't able to control my emotions. I don't have an excuse, other than I was jealous and exhausted."

"You were jealous of Louise?" Maura asked curiously. "Why?"

"You told me you guys were casual, and she said you were together for three years. Three years is not casual Maura," Jane sighed.

"We had sex five or six times in three years Jane," Maura explained. She pulled the brunette close and kissed her hair. "That is casual."

"She said three years," Jane whispered against Maura's neck. "I assumed that meant consistently for three years."

"Why don't we go to bed?" Maura pulled away from Jane to look at her in the eyes. "You're exhausted," she laughed.

"Yeah, okay," Jane stripped off her clothes as she followed the blonde in the direction of the bedroom. "I love you Maur," Jane whispered into the darkness as she curled around the blankets. "I'm sorry."

"I love you too Jane," Maura whispered to the sleeping brunette.
