CHAPTER 10: BLAZING BLUE BERSERKER.
(POV: Thomas.)
"Thomas! My love! Please! just please wake up! I'd give my life, my soul! ANYTHING! JUST PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES!"
"Big brother please!"
"Thomas get up!"
"Thomas!"
"Thomas!"
"Thomas!"
"THOMAS!"
I opened my eyes as those vaguely familiar voices echoed around my head. I didn't know why, but they were precious to me somehow. But as I looked around, I found no-one around me. Just a lot of empty desks. It was then it hit me. I KNEW this room.
"The classroom of my middle school in Brighton?!" I exclaimed within my thoughts. "What am I doing here?!"
As I then looked at the clock I noticed that the time was pretty late.
"Fudge, I get I must've slept through the dismissal time. I guess I better head home."
As I then grabbed my bag, I went back my usual route home, passing many different people. Some of them even looked familiar. As I then walked down a street, I heard a voice that was familiar to me.
"Thomas!"
"Jason!" I gasped, as I then followed him, Jessica and Devlin down the alleyway.
(POV: Billster.)
As we then watched the remains of the older variant of Thomas disappear, Alfred turned heel, and readied to try to kill Lady again.
"Blast!" I thought. "Though she doesn't usually have this problem, Lady had used up quite a bit of mana during our attempt to imprison Lux-Tenebris once again. She can't defend herself! I must do something or Thomas will be berserk!"
I tried to move, but to only find my legs stiff and still.
"Darn! It's No use! I-I can't..."
"Yes you can, brother." Said a voice to me as I then felt two familiar arms wrap themselves around me. "Billster, though I'm currently trying to help with Thomas's awakening, we're bound by that link that his older self made. Now, show us all what you can do! Show us your skill with a sword!"
I nodded as tears filled my eyes. I KNEW who this was and felt so emotional from the fact. As I then drew Blue-Spark, I scowled and charged towards Alfred.
"ARGH!"
"CLASH!"
"Oh look..." Alfred scoffed as he remarked. "It's a little blue pest. How quaint."
"I'm not just a little blue pest Alfred..." I then said with a scowl as I placed my left hand on Blue-Spark's handle. "I'M THOMAS'S LITTLE BROTHER!"
"KLANG!"
"WHAT?! How are you?!"
"Experience." I replied bluntly as I positioned my sword. "I was a student in the magecraft academy in Brighton. Though it sucked at teaching normal sigils and spells it excelled in teaching swordcraft and martial arts. I worked hard to perfect it all into my fighting style, as well as something else that I'm about to show right now!"
As I then put all of my feelings of frustration, self-hate, self-doubt, and love for my family into my blade, I thought back to when I first created IT.
"Darn it! I fudged up again!"
"Don't give up Billster! You can do it! You CAN make your Original Sword-Spell."
"I hope so."
Looking back at that moment of recollection, I think I know what led me to make the choices I did. From accepting the offer to wield this sword within my hand, to the name I gave to the sword-spell I made. Ever since the day I first saw it's legends in that library, I was fascinated and intrigued by Blue-Spark so much, for it seemed to be just the sword that I would have. I guess, the more I think about this blade, the more I see, how destined I was to have it. Blue-Spark was MY sword, and even though I'm nothing like the wielder who had it before me, what mattered was that I made it into a sword that was my own which I had. As I then charged up at Alfred, I activated my true best attack.
"This is my original sword-spell Alfred! BLAZING BLUE BERSERKER!"
As crazy as it sounds, Blazing Blue Berserker was a Sword-Spell of 14 powerful strikes, all fast and nearly impossible to parry. It was like a raging inferno all berserk and wanting to deal a swift end to its enemies. However, when done with Blue-Spark, the description is quite literal. As I then drove Alfred back, I saw my chance and went for it.
"ARGH! TAKE THIS! ALFRED!"
"STAB!"
"Argh! Ah!"
"THUDD!"
"Blast! I got too carried away! Even with my power, I'm still vulnerable from the back! What a fool I am!"
"You're not a fool, brother. You did great! Ease now. Thomas is nearly here."
As I took in the words from HIM, I sighed and only hoped that he was right, as Alfred neared Lady.
(POV: Thomas.)
As I then suddenly found myself in the mansion with most of my family all together, I realized something all too familiar with this situation, as a certain person in crimson came closer towards me with a knife in his hand.
"No! Please! No!"
"SLASH!"
"STAB!"
"SLASH!"
"AHH! AH! AH! NO MORE! DON'T SHOW ME ANYMORE!" I wailed as the room faded. "I don't want to see any of this!"
But to my delima more memories of my rage causing the deaths of others all echoed through this pitch black space.
"HIYA!"
"STAB!"
"THUDD!"
"HA! HA! HA! It's over now you little boy. I have won!"
"Not yet. NOT YET! ARGH!"
"STAB!"
"SLASH!"
"No more... STOP SHOWING ME ALL OF THIS!"
And yet... that was not the worst of it all.
"Thomas! Please! Calm... Argh!"
"SLASH!"
"Thomas! Why are you... Argh!"
As I then looked at the screens that were showing my memories, the one that I received from the king of regrets was being shown upon it. Sobbing in great pain and unease, I very much lost it.
"If this is what my future is to be, I have no right to live!"
"ARGH!"
"RIP!"
"CRUCH!"
"Thomas!"
My hands froze as I attempted to dig my heart out. Looking before me, I saw a woman with golden hair whose face was all too familiar and precious as her name.
"Lady."
"Thomas."
To Lady's right, appeared a man in silver, whose been there to help me emotionally no matter how bad they'd seemed.
"Timothy."
"Big brother."
And then to Lady's left came a 17 year old boy, whose willing to do anything for his family even if it meant sacrificing his own freedom.
"Billster."
To put it all lightly, I felt like I was beyond saving from my guilt and self-hate.
"I'm sorry, Lady. I'm sorry, Timothy. I'm sorry, Billster. I have no right for any forgiveness or any future."
I shedded more tears, as I reached deeper into my chest.
"Thomas!"
My eyes widened as my hand froze again. This time the voice I heard was unmistakably one that knew all too well. Looking up once more I saw a teenage boy whom I thought I would NEVER see again.
"J-Jason? Is that really you? Are you alive, brother?"
Jason just sighed as he gave his reply.
"I'm afraid not, Thomas. However, that isn't to say that I'm never here for you when you need it most. No matter whether it's physical or mental, I'm always going to help you, Thomas. I'll always give you that needed push forward."
"Yeah." I sobbed in reply. "You've always been there for me, haven't you?"
"That I have, brother." Jason replied. "Even so, everyone needs you now. They're all waiting for you Thomas."
"I know." I sobbed in reply. "But what can I do? I'm scared to wear that coat. I'm scared of becoming the king of regrets."
"You don't need to because you won't, my younger self." Said my older self as he appeared before me. "Just because you are going to inherit the spells and powers that are ingrained within my mana circuits does not mean you have to do the same with the title that's branded upon my life. I'm very certain that there's an even better title out there waiting to be given to you. You get to decide what story that the King's Coat has, not my memories."
"Have no fear, Child of Avalon." Then said Arthur P as he also appeared right next to Jason. "Excalibur and Caliburn can only be fully used by one who is worthy of being a king, and you wield them splendidly. I'm very sure that you can use them to set your future straight as you see fit."
As I then took all of these words in, I looked towards Jason, and asked him my next question.
"W-will it be really okay for me to walk again, Jason? Am I able to fix this mess?"
"Of course, my brother." He replied with a smile as he held out his hand. "Come on! They're all waiting!"
As I then took Jason's hand, everyone placed theirs upon mine, encouraging me to go on. It was then, did a bright light shone through this dark area and I found myself in a massive empty battlefield. Looking around I saw many Sorcerer-knight being held captive by Shadowed-Soldiers, and Lady being held by Alfred by the neck. Promptly, I tried to activate a lightning sigil to deal with the foes around us, but couldn't, for I couldn't raise my arm up. It was then when I felt a familiar pair of hands grasping it and holding it for me.
"Cast what you need to cast, Thomas. I'll aim for you."
I nodded in reply as I then activated the sigil.
(POV: Lady.)
As I awaited for my end, I began to shed tears, for knowing how things would end if I died. Shutting my eyes, I awaited to be slain, when IT happened.
"ARGH!"
"THUDD!"
"What?" I grunted as I then saw the shadowed-soldiers all laying on the ground unconscious. "How did..."
"A... A...A.."
Alfred and I looked over as Thomas held his right arm up. As Thomas then pointed his arm towards Alfred, something happened that gave hope to us all.
"Al... Al.. Al... Al...ALFRED!"
A massive bolt of golden lightning shot out of the sigil in his palm and hit Alfred. As I then stood back up I couldn't help but be joyful as Thomas got back on his feet, grabbed his broken Caliburn up with his left hand. He then stood in front of all of us as he faced Alfred. Awake and his right arm now in a proper size for him.
"Welcome back, Thomas." I said to my husband.
"It's good to be back, Lady." He replied, as a fight between him and Alfred was clearly imminent.
