Sempai?

Well here's the next chapter

Updated: To the guest that pointed about this chapter: I wrote this ages ago so I honestly can't remember if I did. But thank you for pointing that out anyway and I'll be sure to credit the artist of the doujin you mentioned. I can assure you, I had no intention of anything bad.

"Umi-chaaaan~"

Letting out what seemed like the thousandth sigh that day, Umi dropped her pencil onto her desk and turned around to look at an annoyingly adorable face. The owner of said face was sitting in the middle of her bed, pouting. Umi gave her girlfriend a blank stare, to which the pout on Maki's face intensified.

Umi finally came to the conclusion that she wasn't going to get any work done with Maki the way she is. And so, getting up, Umi made her way over to the girl on the bed. "What is it?" she asked, crossing her arms and doing her best to show her annoyance.

Maki mentally grinned, she knew that Umi would fall eventually. "You've been doing work for ages. You need a break" the red head replied matter-of-factly.

Umi's eye twitched. She had to force down a sarcastic remark and instead closed her eyes and mentally counted to ten.

Suddenly, Umi found herself on the floor with Maki sitting on her. Maki pinned Umi down by pressing against her toned stomach. "Ma-Maki? what are you doing?" the archer stuttered out, looking fearfully into the girls purple orbs. Her cheeks now bright red and heart pounding many miles a minute.

Maki stared at her girlfriend with a board expression. Though even her heart was hammering. Maki leaned in further towards Umi, placing her hands on either side of the girls head to keep her still. "'what' then what should we do?" Maki asked the flustered girl below her.

"Wh-" Umi was so confused at this point.

"Because Umi-chan hasn't let me do anything for a while" Maki finished off. Still slowly leaning in to Umi. Just when Umi thought something was going to happen, Maki pulled back. "You know, I'd never think you would surrender this easily" Maki grinned, only adding more confusion to Umi's expression.

If anything, Maki wanted to laugh at the adorably funny look Umi had at this moment. Having a fairly dense girlfriend has its up and downs. After all, Umi still had no idea on what Maki was actually going on about. So she decided to take it further and tease her beloved a little. After all Umi had been paying less attention to her lately. And she's finally fed up. "Are you getting board of me?" she asked.

Umi had to admit, the question caught her completely off guard. Mainly because she had no idea that Maki was in fact, only teasing. "What?! no!" Umi yelled out. Grabbing onto the red heads arms and forcibly sitting herself up so she could be face to face with the other girl.

Maki looked surprised and a little embarrassed. Her cheeks getting a rosy complexion at the answer she got. Maybe she should make herself more clear when teasing the girl in front of her. Smiling, the red head pinched both of Umi's cheeks. "Ow ow ow!"

"You're such an idiot" Maki murmured. Stroking some loose tears away with her thumb.

This time it was Umi's turn to pout. She averted her gaze and made sure to ignore the cute look coming her way.

"U-mi~" Maki called. Trying t get the girl to look at her. "Umi-chan!" she was starting to loose her patience.

Grunting, Maki let go of the girls head. "Umi-sempai" now that definitely got the archers attention. She looked at the red head, irritation clear on her face.

"Sempai?" she asked in annoyance "what happened to no upperclassmen?" she asked.

Maki raised an eyebrow "Well it was the only way to get your attention!" Maki defended, crossing her arms.

"No it wasn't!" Umi yelled, flinging her arms into the air.

Maki got off the girl in front of her "you're the one who was ignoring me!" the pianist was seriously getting ticked off. It seemed that the girl in front of her really needed to calm down.

Umi-who was still on the floor, gave an exasperated sigh. She rubbed her temples to try and delay the huge migraine that was making her head throb with pain. She got up, turned around and tried to stop any tears from falling. She really hated arguing with Maki, more than she knows. But unfortunately, because of their personalities it happened more times than they would like to admit.

It wasn't long until another wave of pain shot through her head, making her loose her balance and she ended up falling over.

"Umi!" the younger girl became alarmed and she rushed over to the fallen girls side.

Umi's vision was becoming blurry and the pain in her head was becoming unbearable. To say she was in pain would be an understatement. She was in absolute agony.

Any anger that Maki had was soon replaced with panic. Since it happened so quickly, almost all of her doctor training was gone.

Umi let out a growl of pain and turned to face Maki. Who at this point was completely blank. "M-Maki..." Umi wheezed out.

That soon snapped Maki out of what ever trance she was in and she managed to pick up the girl and carry-or well drag the girl to the bed.

Gently placing Umi on to the bed, Maki realized that the girl was burning up. She undid some of Umi's shirt buttons and made her way to the bathroom. Fetching a flannel and running it under the cold tap. Making her way back into Umi's bedroom, Maki came across a sleeping Umi.

Smiling, Maki made her way over and gently placed the flannel on Umi's head. Even though it seemed that it wasn't as bad as it was a few moments ago, it still seemed that Umi was still in pain.

Maki sat on the other side of the bed and gently ran her hand through the blue locks. It seemed that even though Umi was asleep, she could still sense Maki's presence.

She began to unconsciously call out Maki's name-much to the younger girls embarrassment. But Maki made no attempt to move.

In fact, she moved in closer, making sure the archers temperature wasn't rising. She took off the warm flannel and placed it on the bed side table. Placing her hand onto the blue haired girls head, Maki let out a sigh of relief to find out that Umi's temperature had returned to normal.

It wasn't long until Umi started to show signs of awakening. Groaning, she placed a hand on her head.

Slowly sitting up, the first thing she realized was that it was dark outside. Sweeping her sweaty bangs out of her eyes, Umi's head started throbbing. But instead of it being a sharp, stabbing pain it was more of a numb feeling.

Feeling something move next to her, Umi turned only to see a familiar annoyingly adorable face. Who was sleeping calmly next to her.

Umi's heartbeat started to quicken and she instinctively reached out to stroke Maki's hair.

So warm.

Merry Christmas everyone!
