"Class, listen. For your research project, I want you to research plants, how they affect our world, and how we can use them to improve out world." The science teacher said as his class ended. Science has been studying plants and plants are tougher than they look. Classes ended and the students entered the hall with the rangers meeting up.

"I already know what to do for my project." Valerie said. "I'm going to head down to the park and plant some flowers. Not only will they make the park look nicer, but they can grow and prosper with pollinators delivering more pollen to flowers."

"That's a great idea. It's good for the planet as well." Abby said.

"You guys wouldn't mind coming to the park to help me out, would you?" Valerie asked.

"No problem." Travis said as the other rangers were in agreement, but Sierra was distracted with her reading a paper.

"Sierra? Are you coming too?" Valerie said and snapped her out of it.

"Huh? Yeah... Sure." Sierra said.

"What are you reading?" David asked.

"It's nothing." Sierra said as she put the paper away. Something was going on, but it wasn't just with Sierra.

...

Scarlie's Palace

"How cute. The trouble rangers are doing a little gardening." Scarlie said as she was spying on them.

"Are they?" Vyla questioned. "Lady Scarlie, don't you have a plant monster of your own?"

"A plant monster?" Scarlie questioned. She thought about that and she was starting to see where Vyla might be going with this. Scarlie went over to her book and was trying to find the monster that Vyla was talking about. "There it is. Lotoom. She's quite a unique monster. She can turn herself into a seed, but once she's planted, she can cause plants to grow at tremendous rates and have complete control over them.

"Exactly what I was thinking." Vyla said. "She'll turn Angel Grove into a green house and the rangers won't know what hit them. Plants not only look nice, but they can be quite dangerous."

"This could actually work." Scarlie said as she was liking this. "By the time she blooms, it will be too late for those rangers."

...

The Park

The rangers head for the park and were planting some plants just like Valerie wanted. They'll grow into lovely flowers that will also help the park.

"This was a great idea, Valerie." Joey said.

"Especially since I can wear gloves to keep my hands from getting dirty." Robby said.

"Now if only everyone would pitch in." David said as he gestured to Sierra. They all looked in her direction and saw Sierra was just standing there and kept looking over that paper. "What the heck is on that paper?"

"I got her." Travis said as he walked right over to her. He tapped her shoulder and got her attention. "You okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine." Sierra said.

"Something is clearly on your mind." Travis said. "What is on that paper that has your complete attention?" Sierra decided to just show him and he saw it was a letter. "Dear Sierra, You don't know who I am, but I knew your mother. She was an acquaintance of mine and I was also the last person that saw her before she disappeared. I'm sure you're curious about your mother and I be happy to tell you anything. I left you my number so you could call me. Sign, Angelica Reese."

"This is the chance I've been waiting for. I could find out what happened to my mother." Sierra said.

"If it means you can learn the truth about your mother, you've got to meet this Angelica." Travis said. Sierra was nervous about that, but she could see he was right.

"Yeah. Thanks, Travis." Sierra said as she hugged him and actually gave him a peck on the cheek. That didn't go unnoticed by the others. Meanwhile, Vyla appeared in the park and held a large seed in her hand.

"I better make this fast." Vyla said as she dug in the ground. She was hoping to go unnoticed, but Sierra did spot her.

"Vyla!" Sierra shouted and alerted the other rangers and her.

"So much for that. Golems!" Vyla called out and a team of golems appeared. "Get them!" The golems hurried over with the rangers trying to fight them off. As they were fighting, Vyla planted the seed and hid it. Sierra pushed through the golems and tackled Vyla as they rolled against the ground, but Vyla pushed her off.

"I'm actually glad you're here. You can tell me what you know about your mother." Sierra said.

"I don't think so. You'll never see her again." Vyla said as she summoned her spear and tried to attack Sierra with it. Sierra rolled out of the way and kicked Vyla. She tried again, but Vyla caught her and tossed her to the ground. Travis saw Sierra was in trouble. So he took a golem and tossed it against Vyla to have her move away from Sierra. "Forget it. I'm out of here." Vyla pulled out and retreated. Travis hurried over to Sierra and helped her up.

"You okay?" Travis asked.

"Yeah, but what was she doing here?" Sierra asked.

"We better keep our eyes open for anything." Joey said.

"Yeah. Something about this doesn't seem right." Abby said.

"Listen, I love to stick around, but I need to go and meet with someone." Sierra said as she got her stuff together and left. What they didn't know was that Vyla already planted the seed that could be their destruction.

...

Sierra

Sierra returned home and gave this Angelica a call. She wants to know what happened to her mother. That's the whole reason she's in Angel Grove, so she could know. She heard a knock on the door and opened it up to meet with a woman.

"Angelica Reese?" Sierra asked.

"Yes. You must be Sierra." Angelica said as Sierra allowed her in. "You look a lot like your mother."

"Thank you, for that and for coming." Sierra said as she offered her a seat. "So you were the last person in Angel Grove that saw my mother?"

"Yes. She told me about you when she was here all those years ago." Angelica said. "You see, I work as a geologist. Your mother came to me for help her through a mountain that isn't that far from here."

"Really? That's strange? That's not even my mom's field of work." Sierra said. "What did she have to do that for?"

"All she told me was that she was searching for something, but she never told me what it was." Angelica said. "If I may ask, what happened the last time you saw your mother?" That was a tough question for Sierra because it was a terrifying experience.

"I was just a little kid." Sierra said as she remembered it all clear. "It was raining that night. Mom and I were on our way home." It was all like it was yesterday for her. The rain coming down and her mother driving the car. "Suddenly, she lost control. I guess the rain caused her to slide and the car went over the cliff. I remember she acted quickly." It all went by so fast for her at the point, but she saw her mother reaching for mother and somehow made it out of the car. Next thing she knew, her mother was hanging by a branch with Sierra in her arms.

"Help! Someone help!"

"I was so scared. I thought we were done for." Sierra said. "I thought the branch would break and we would fall."

"That does sound scary. Who saved you?" Angelica asked.

"I don't know." Sierra said. "I blacked out or something. Next thing I knew, we were both safe and were able to get home. However, the next day, she left me with some relatives, gave me her necklace, and I never saw her again. She acted strange when she left. So I decided when I was old enough, I go and find her."

"Wow." Angelica said. "That's some story. No wonder you want to find her."

"So what happened to my mother?" Sierra asked.

"We were exploring a cave in the mountain." Angelica said as she remembered the two heading down. "Suddenly, there was a cave in. The rocks came down, but your mother pushed me out of the way." Angelica made it, but she saw Sierra's mother was still back there and the rocks separated them. "I went back with a crew, but the place filled with water as well. There must have been an underground spring or something and that made it harder for us to get through."

"Are you saying you never found her?" Sierra said.

"I'm sorry. I haven't seen her since, but that doesn't mean she's gone. We never found anything. That could mean she's still alive and is out there." Angelica said. "I just hope this helps."

"It does. Any small detail helps me figure out what happened to her." Sierra said as she sees this one step closer to finding the truth.

The Park

Meanwhile, the seed that Vyla has planted began to bloom as a green arm came out of the ground and a monster started to emerge. This female monster had a green body and wore a white dress-like piece with it designed like a flower on the bottom and her head was shaped like a white lotus flower.

"I live!" Lotoom said as she spread her power into the plants. Plants began to grow all over the city and began to cause problems as vines, roots, and much more spread. "I'll turn Angel Grove into a jungle unless the rangers surrender!"

...

Sierra

"Thank you for telling me all of this." Sierra said as she showed Angelica out. Now she knows more about her mother. Just as Angelica left, her communicator went off. "Yeah?"

"Sierra, teleport to Angel Grove Park." Zultro said. "There's trouble and it seems to be coming from there."

"On my way." Sierra said and teleported straight to the park.

...

The Park

Sierra and the other rangers teleported to the park, but when they got there, they saw plants growing out of control and almost every inch of it was covered in vines and such.

"Yikes. What happened here?" Abby said.

"Valerie, what kind of plants did you plant again?" Joey asked.

"Don't blame this on me." Valerie said.

"Rangers!" All of them looked ahead and they spotted Lotoom. "I hope you're here to surrender. Otherwise, you and the rest of the city will be in great trouble."

"We'll see about that." Travis said. "It's morphin time!"

"White Spinosaur!"

"Green Plesiosaur!"

"Black Ankylosaur!"

"Pink Pterodactyl!"

"Blue Triceratops!"

"Yellow Parasaur!"

"Red Tyrannosaurus!" The seven of them morphed and charged right at Lotoom, but Lotoom used the plants to her advantage. She had vines wrap around them and lifted them off the ground. She lashed them around and had them smash against each other. She threw them against the ground and it was already looking bad.

"This shouldn't take long." Lotoom said as she walked towards them.

"Careful, guys. Looks like we're playing on her home turf." Travis said. All of them stood back up, but they got blasted by green lightning and dropped down again. Sierra looked up and saw it was Vyla's doing.

"Vyla?" Sierra said.

"Hello." Vyla said. This was a chance for Sierra to know more and she has to take it.

"You're mine!" Sierra said as she jumped in the air and pulled out her saber. Vyla jumped in the air and met her attack with her spear as she slashed against Sierra and knocked her out of the air.

"Lotoom, deal with the other rangers. I've got this one." Vyla said.

"As you wish." Lotoom said as she charged at the other rangers. Sierra went at Vyla and swung her saber at her, but Vyla blocked her attack.

"Tell me what you know about my mother or else!" Sierra said.

"What? Destroy me and you lose any chance of seeing your mother again." Vyla said. She pushed her saber out of the way and slashed against Sierra and kicked her back. At the same time, the rangers were trying to fight Lotoom, but she's a tough plant as she smacked the rangers around.

"You rangers are looking a little green." Lotoom said as she had her plants attack them again.

"Not this time." Travis said as he used his sword and slashed his way through the vines. He pulled out his blaster and blasted her to break her concentration. "Sierra! We need to put our weapons together!"

"Right!" Sierra said as she switched to her blaster and blasted Vyla so she could pull away. The rangers regrouped and brought their weapons together.

"Neo Power Blaster!" They aimed right at Lotoom, but Vyla jumped in the way.

"Think again." Vyla said as she stood her ground. "Careful, Pink Ranger. Destroy me and you'll never find your mother." Sierra seemed hesitant and they held off firing because of that. Sierra held out hand and pushed the blaster down.

"Sorry, guys. I can't do it." Sierra said and Vyla believed victory was at last hers, but Sierra tricked her as she grabbed the power blaster and jumped right over the both of them. "Nice try!" Sierra fired the blaster and blasted Lotoom with it and Vyla was blown back from the explosion. "You can't sway me as easily as you think."

"Nice. Way to fake them out, Sierra." Joey said as the rangers were impressed.

"You're not finished yet." Vyla said as she knew what was coming next as she left.

"Grow, my monster! Grow!" Scarlie cast her magic and Lotoom grew once more as a larger flower.

"We need the Neo Zords!" Sierra called. Their zords arrived and they were brought together to form both megazords.

"I'm ready to crush this flower? How about you guys?" Robby asked.

"Yeah. This is one flower I wouldn't mind seeing wilt." Abby said. Both megazords marched right over, but Lotoom used her powers and caused vines to grow out of the ground and tie the megazords and hold them down.

"You'll have to do better than that." David said as the Grand Megazord activated the blade on its back and cut through the vines. They also fired energy blasts at Lotoom and hit her hard. They took the opportunity to free the Neo Megazord. Once that megazord was free, they called upon their sword and added power to it. The megazord slashed down and slashed Lotoom. Lotoom couldn't handle all that power and that monster ended up being destroyed. She might have been a dangerous flower, but that flower still ended up crushed.

The Command Center

"Excellent work, rangers." Zultro said as the seven of them came back to their base and were happy that they got another win. However, Sierra wasn't as happy as the others were. She sat down and thought about all that has happened today.

"You okay?" Abby asked as they gathered around her.

"Yeah..." Sierra said.

"You know, it really was cool that you faked them out like that." Joey said.

"Even if you hadn't, any of us would have done the same." Travis said with the others agreeing.

"Excuse me. Did we miss something?" David said as he and Valerie didn't quite understand what was going on.

"It's Vyla." Sierra said. "I met with someone who claims she was the last person that saw my mother. Now I'm starting to think Vyla was. She knows something about my missing mother. If I destroy her, I could lose that. Zultro, what do I do about this?"

"Hmm... Vyla is holding vital information and using it as a shield against you." Zultro said. "We can't trust what Vyla says, but the life of an innocent might be on the line." Vyla has proven to be a powerful and cunning enemy where defeating her will be difficult...if not impossible. "Until we know what Vyla knows, we can't destroy her."
