Chapter 12: Home Sweet Home

Thomas chuckled while watching Bingo playing with her toys just before the doctor came in. "Alright Bingo looks like you can go home now," the doctor said with a smile. "Hooray!" Bingo cheered, "Alright I'm going to call dad to pick us up," Thomas said as he got on his phone and called their father. "Okay dad see you soon," Thomas said hanging up the phone. Thomas turned around to see Bingo trying to get off the bed. "Bingo wait!" Thomas said suddenly. "You should stay in bed until dad comes," Thomas said as he rushed over to the bed trying to keep Bingo in bed.

"But I have to pee," Bingo said almost dancing to use the toilet. "Oh…" Thomas said as he picked up Bingo. "I can walk big brother," Bingo said as Thomas carried her over to the bathroom. "Do you want me to stay?" Thomas asked placing his sister on the toilet. "No, I think I got it," Bingo said with a smile. "Alright I'll just stand by the door," Thomas said walking out of the bathroom and shutting the door just a little. "But Thomas, I can pee by myself," Bingo protested. "Just for me let me stand by the door I don't want you to get hurt," Thomas said looking away so Bingo could pee. "Get hurt going pee?" Bingo asked confused. "Just go pee," Thomas said with a shake of his head.

Soon later, Bandit arrived to the hospital to get Thomas and Bingo, getting in the room where Bingo had already packed her toys, "Okay, kids, ready to go?" he asked. "Yeah!" Bingo exclaimed, ready to get out of the bed. "Hey, Bingo, why don't I take your bag for you?" Thomas asked her, while getting her bag. "But, Thomas, I can take it," Bingo protested. "You heard the doctor, you still need to rest a bit, so why don't I take you to the car?" Thomas said, while going to get her sister and start carrying her out of the room. "But I want to walk!" Bingo continued to protest. As he passed by his dad, he saw that he had an amusing smiled. "What?" he asked him. "Nothing, just happy to have my children all back home" Bandit replied.

They all returned home. As they got in, with Thomas always carrying Bingo, they found a great reception from Chilli and Bluey. "Welcome home, Bingo!" they said. "Wow!" Bingo exclaimed, happy to see her mother and sister. "We're so happy that you're back, honey" Chilli said. "Bingo, give me a hug" Bluey said, while extending her arms. "Thomas, can you put me down, so I can hug Bluey?" Bingo asked her older brother. Despite knowing it wouldn't hurt for Bingo to hug Bluey, Thomas simply didn't have the will to put her down. However, knowing that was something he should do, he placed Bingo down and she went to hug Bluey, with their hug being so tight, and with Bluey even raising Bingo, that made Thomas uncomfortable.

"Wow, you two really like to squeeze…" Thomas commented. "Hey, Bingo, do you want to go to the room to play, I've sorted all of your favorite games," Bluey suggested. "Yeah!" Bingo replied, with the two starting to run and climb the stairs. "Hey, hold on, I'm coming too!" Thomas told, as he followed his sisters, fearing something could happen to Bingo while playing. Chilli noticed that strange behavior from her stepson. "What's up with Thomas?" "If I have to guess, he's being a little overprotective of Bingo," Bandit said, with a nostalgic smile. "He reminds me of Emily when he used to get hurt." "Should we do something?" Chilli asked. "It looks like that can cause some problems…" "Knowing our daughters as I know, I think they're about to teach Thomas a little lesson…" Bandit replied.

"Wait up! don't run Bingo!" Thomas running after his sisters. Bluey and Bingo then stopped running and looked to their older brother. "Why can't Bingo run?" Bluey asked confused. "Because she could get hurt," Thomas said almost out of breath. "Thomas I'm fine!" Bingo protested now getting annoyed with her brother. "No little sister something worse could've happened to you and I wasn't hear to protect you," Thomas said looking down. Bluey and Bingo looked at each other feeling bad for their brother. "I have an idea!" Bluey said as he went to her room and came back with doctor outfit on. "Let's play doctors! Thomas you be the kid and Bingo can be the mum!" Bluey said with a smile.

"Okay!" Bingo cheered taking her brother's hand and took him to their room. "Lay here," Bingo said having Thomas lay in her bed. Thomas nodded as he did what he was told and laid on Bingo's bed. Doctor Bluey came with a play chart. "Alright what seems to be the problem here," Doctor Bluey said looking at her play chart. "My son is sick and I'm so worried Doctor Bluey," Bingo said almost in a faint. "I'm actually good," Thomas said as he tried to sit up. "He can't talk straight!" Bingo shouted pushing her brother down in the bed. "Bingo," Thomas said laying down. "He doesn't even call me mum anymore!" Bingo added again almost in a faint

My Goodness, that is really big pickle, but don't you worry, we'll have him fixed in a jiffy" Doctor Bluey said. She then proceeded to treat Thomas and he couldn't help but notice she was quite rough when playing doctor. When looking into his ear, she would pull it hard that would cause him pain; when looking into his mouth, she would open his jaw in a way that made him think it would break; and then, when using a hammer to test the reflects, she would hit him with such strength that would cause him to m* in pain.

"Okay, I have a diagnosis and I know how to fix him," Bluey said, much to Thomas' relief as for not having to pass through another exam. "Thank goodness, doctor, and what is it?" Bingo asked, using her mum voice. "He just needs… a needle," Doctor Bluey replied. "A what now?" Thomas asked, with Bluey soon hitting him in the stomach into a wooden block. "Aaargh! Bluey!" Thomas protested. "Doctor Bluey, young man," Bluey replied. "Be more respectful to your doctor, have your mother not give you any matters?" "I most certainly did," Bingo replied. "I don't know what came of him." "Okay, now, my work here is done, now I must go see my other patients," Doctor Bluey said, before moving away.

Thinking it was over, Thomas tried to get up. "Finally, I can now…" he started, before Bingo pushed him down again. "What are you doing, Diddums?" Bingo asked, again with her mum voice. "Diddums?" Thomas repeated. "You can't possibly think you can get up, what if you get sick again?" Bingo asked. "But, mum…" Thomas protested, engaging the game. "But nothing… you shall stay on the bed until I say you can get up," Mum Bingo said. "But what if I… have to go pee?" Thomas asked, trying to find a way out. "No worries," Mum Bingo said, going to get one of her and Bluey's small chairs. "You can do it on the potty." "The potty?!" Thomas exclaimed. "But I'm a big boy, I do it on the toilet." "And what happens if you fall into the toilet and you get hurt?" Mum Bingo said. Sighing, Thomas didn't get any other choice but to comply and sit on the small chair, pretending it was a potty.

Thomas laid in Bingo's bed with his arms crossed and looking annoyed while Bingo was reading a book to him (or rather pretend reading a book, as she couldn't read). "Can I go now mom?" Thomas asked looking to Bingo. "Of course you can't, silly, you must stay in bed," Bingo said in her mum voice. "Come on I'm not sick anymore," Thomas said. "Doctors orders," Bingo said flipping through a page in her book. "Knock knock!" Bluey comes in. "What now," Thomas said with a groan. "Looks like our patient needs another needle!" Bluey said with a smile as she poked Thomas. "Ah! Bluey!" Thomas shouted.

"That's doctor Bluey!" Bluey corrected her big brother. "Fine doctor Bluey! Can I leave now?!" Thomas shouted. "Nope I'm sorry," Bluey said as she poked her brother again. "Ouch!" Thomas said again. That last shout was heard by Bandit who was passing by Bluey and Bingo's room. "Aw, it looks like their playing doctor," Bandit said. "Poor, Thomas…" Out of curiosity, Bandit decided to remain outside and see how the game would proceed.

"Very well, this might do the trick," Bluey said, while pretending to write on a chart. "We'll keep an eye on you." "Good, that means I can go now, right…" Thomas said, wanting to go up. "Nonsense, Diddums" Bingo said, pushing him down again. "You'll stay on that bed." "What?!" Thomas asked. "You want to get sick again, Diddums?" Mum Bingo asked. "No, I don't, but how long will I have to stay here?" Thomas asked. "I don't know, maybe forever" Mum Bingo replied. "What?!" Thomas asked. "Mommy just doesn't want you to get sick again," Mum Bingo replied. "But, mom, just because I got sick, it doesn't mean you have to watch over me all the time" Thomas said. "You're just smothering me!"

At that moment, Thomas realized that, what Bingo was doing to him, was the exact same thing he has been doing to her. "Oh… now I get it," he said, sitting up and then turning to Bingo. "Bingo, I'm sorry if I've been pesky with you, it's just I felt it was because of me you got sick and I was afraid you would get sick again" Thomas said to his little sister. "Can you please forgive me? I promise I won't be as annoying as I've been." Bingo proceeded to smile. "Okay…" she said, with the two siblings going for a hug while wagging their tails. "You can get out of the bed now…" Bingo said to him, after they broke the hug. "Thank you… mom" Thomas replied.

But before he could get out of the bed, Bluey appeared. "Oh, before you go, I just have to do one more thing," she said. "Really, what…?" Thomas started to ask, before Bluey pocked him hard, this time at the bottom, causing him to shout loudly. He then got out of their room, finding Bandit waiting for him against the wall. "So, what did you thought of Dr. Bluey?" he asked, teasingly. "For one thing, she could be a little bit gentler…" Thomas replied, while massaging the place she poked, much to Bandit's amusement.

"I guess you noticed how…" "It was hard not to notice, and your mother was just like that when you were little" Bandit replied. "Really?" Thomas asked. Bandit nodded. "And it's okay you worry about your sisters, but… try not to go overboard," he said. "Now I know that…" Thomas said. Bandit gave a little tap on his son's shoulder before moving away, with the latter then going to observe his sisters playing, now more confident regarding his role as an older brother.
