I ... am actually not allowed to make a major authors note at this moment in time as dictated by my third tenet ... don't ask, if you know, then ... well, it's 8:30 for me at time of posting, what do you think I would be doing at this hour?
TopRedNinj: Sadly, no, and I've already given away my plan over on wattpad.
They had both returned to Nishikata's house, and Nishikata was now waiting for Takagi-san to finish in the shower. "I'm glad I gave her a change of clothing before she got in." He said as he let out a sigh of relief. "I didn't want to have to deal with an awkward situation of trying not to look at her while handing it to her."
A few moments later, the door opened, and out came Takagi-san, with her hair tied back, wearing Nishikata's orange shirt and black pants. 'Takagi's wearing my-' He quickly shook his head and regained his composure. 'Relax, this isn't something to worry about, it's not the first time she's worn your clothes ... that didn't sound right.'
"Nishikata?" Takagi-san said, snapping him to attention. "I'm going to start the wash while you're in the shower, so just leave your wet clothes outside the door, okay?"
"But ... you're a guest."
"It's okay, I don't know what I would do while I'm waiting for you to finish anyway."
"I suppose you have a point there."
As soon as he went inside, Takagi-san walked to the side and turned away, as she waited to hear what sounded like the door closing for a second time. "Looks like I had better get started." She turned around and grabbed the clothes Nishikata placed by the door, before making her way downstairs, and into the room where the washing machine and dryer were. 'There's also the fact that I wanted to make sure that it was washed correctly, not that I don't think Nishikata could do it, but walking home in Nishikata's formal wear ... might require an explanation that I'd rather avoid right now.'
She threw both sets of clothes into the washing machine, as well as a few dirty towels and soap, and turned it on. "There, now I just wait for this to finish, then I throw them into the dryer."
She stepped out of the laundry room, and into the living room, where a small stack of DVD's was set up with a small post-it note on it that read 'pick one.'
"Looks like Nishikata prepared this while I was in the shower, I wonder what he picked out." She began looking through them, and much to her surprise, they were all romance movies. "Does he ... not know what he's getting himself into? I mean he is trying to salvage a romantic date, but still/." She began looking through them, looking for ones she knew the most about. "I kinda want to go easy on him ... so what's the least sappy one here?" As she looked through the stack, she found that finding one that wasn't sappy was actually rather difficult. "There's no way Nishikata would be able to watch any of these in public." She paused as she began thinking. "Then again, he does like 100% unrequited love ... but he doesn't want people to know that ... but this is just us. Would he feel comfortable watching these with me because he wants this to be our secret?" She began to blush at the thought and began looking through them again. "Okay ... if that's the case, then what would I feel comfortable watching with him?"
She began looking through them, narrowing them down a little until she heard the door updates open and what sounded like someone walking down the stairs. "You finished already?" Takagi-san asked.
"Yeah, I didn't want to keep you waiting too long." Nishikata replied.
"Well, I've almost finished picking one of the movies you left for me, but I just need a minute more."
"Okay, I'm going to get some ice cream ready, any preferences?"
"What do you have?"
"Vanilla, chocolate and ..." He cringed slightly as he looked away. "Mint."
"I'll take vanilla."
"Okay, I'll be a minute."
He walked into the kitchen as Takagi-san turned back to the movies to pick one out. "Let's see ... let's go with ... this one." She picked a cute one that filled the definition of a couples movie, that would also allow her a good opportunity to snuggle.
"I'm back." Nishikata said as he walked from the kitchen to the living room with two paper cups with vanilla ice cream in them. "Sorry it's not that fancy, I-"
"It's fine Nishikata." She said as she placed a hand on one of his. "Just relax."
"I-if ... if you say so."
She handed him the movie as she took one of the cups. "Now how about we get started."
Takagi waited for Nishikata to put the DVD in the player, before going back to the couch with him. They stared at each other for a moment before Takagi motioned for Nishikata to sit. "I ..." He took a seat on the side of the couch, before Takagi gave him a sly smile. Nishikata was confused for a moment until Takagi turned around and sat on Nishikata's lap, causing him to blush and almost drop his ice cream. "Takagi!"
"What? Can't I sit on my boyfriend's lap while eating ice cream and watching a movie?"
Nishikata didn't have a comeback, and only blushed as he nervously turned on the T.V. and DVD player.
As the movie started, Nishikata found himself unable to pay attention to the movie, and was more focused on the girl sitting on his lap. 'Damn it, she's so close!' He thought to himself. 'Actually, I think this is the closest she's ever been ... this is worse than when she was in a bathing suit.' He tried to pay more attention to the movie, but it proved to be futile, as his eyes continued to drift to the girl sitting on his lap, or more specifically, to her waist. 'I ... I want to hold her ... so badly.' He shook his head. 'I can't do that, I have ice cream.' He looked over to his cup and found it surprisingly empty. 'What happened to my ice cream?!' He looked into the cup, and found it mostly melted, but not uneatable. 'Great." He drank what was left and placed it on a coaster that was on a stand next to him, before turning back to his girlfriend.
'Well ... I don't have any excuse now.' He began reaching his arms towards her, but began shaking. 'Come on Nishikata, she's your girlfriend, she even said, she wants to spend the day in her boyfriend's arms!' He gathered every drop of courage he could muster, and slowly moved closer, though, as soon as he placed his hands on her, a small gasp escaped her lips, and Nishikata was filled with regret. "I ..." He quickly took his hands off her. "I'm sorry."
Before he could move another centimeter, she quickly grabbed his hands, and moved them back to her waist. "You don't have to apologize ... or stop."
He was frozen for a moment, then wrapped his arms around her until he was holding her snugly. 'I ... I ...' He was blushing for a bit, before a tear began to escape his eyes. 'I'm actually ... doing it.' He smiled and closed his eyes as he rubbed his cheek into hers.
"You're awfully excited." Takagi-san stated. Nishikata was confused at first, but he slowly began to get more and more concerned, until Takagi-san continued. "I can feel the tears running down your face."
Nishikata's fears quickly faded and were replaced by a new concern. "I ... it's just ..."
"You must really like this movie."
He let out a sigh of relief and nodded. "Yeah, it's a good movie." As Nishikata's nerves eased, he found himself finally able to actually pay attention to said movie as he held his girlfriend in his arms. 'I never expected that this would feel this perfect.'
As Nishikata enjoyed the moment, Takagi-san was now the one blushing uncontrollably. 'He's holding me, he's holding me! I can actually feel his heartbeat ... this is so much more nerve wracking than I thought it'd be.' She placed her hands on top of his, and tried to calm herself. 'This is going to be a long movie.'
Time passed, and eventually, the movie came to an end as Takagi-san let out a silent sigh of relief. "I'm going to switch the laundry over, you set up the next movie."
"Oh ... okay." He let go of her, and she began making her way over to the laundry room. "Wait." He called out, causing her to stop. "Which one would you like?"
"I picked the last one, you pick this time." She continued making her way to the laundry room, where, as soon as she was out of sight, she dropped to her knees with her hand gripping her chest as her face went bright red. 'Oh my goodness ... I don't know how much more of this I can take ... he's definitely won this.' She slowly eased herself before moving the laundry over. 'All I can do now is hope he doesn't see me flustered.'
Back with Nishikata, he wasn't feeling like his usual self; holding Takagi-san while they watched the movie gave him a huge boost in confidence, and he felt like he could handle anything. 'This is the best day ever, I can't wait to see what'll happen next.' He finished moving the DVD's over and started the T.V. just as Takagi-san had returned.
"So, are we ready?" She asked.
"Just waiting on you."
"Great." She began to walk over but Nishikata stopped her.
"Hey, do you want some more ice cream?"
"Hm ... not right now, let's start."
She began walking to the couch, but just at that moment, Nishikata felt that his confidence had built to a sizable level. 'I'm going to do it.' He thought. "Hey, Takagi?" He asked, causing her to stop and look at him curiously. 'I'm definitely going to do it ... yeah!' "I ..." He reached forward and took her hand.
'Is he going to confess to me?' Takagi-san though. 'It's finally happening ... he's finally going to do it.' A smile formed on her face as she wrapped her fingers around his. 'He's finally going to confess!' As she stood there, waiting for him to say something, his hand slowly separated from hers, and moved to her waist. 'Huh?' As she tried to process what was going on, his other hand moved to the other side of her waist, and his grip began to tighten, pulling her closer, until his lips were pressed firmly against hers, causing a small squeal to escape her lips. 'He's ... he's ...' She slowly closed her eyes, and wrapped her arms around the back of his head.
They stayed like that for what felt like forever, until they finally separated with their foreheads pressed against each other. "Okay, you win Nishikata." Takagi-san whispered. "You definitely salvaged this romantic date."
"Uh huh." He moved to press his lips to hers again, causing them both to feel another rush of joy, only for her to stop him by placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Nishikata, I said you won, and we even have another movie to watch, you don't have to-" He cut her off by pulling her lips into his, causing her to wrap her arm around the back of his head again. Takagi-san could feel her face go flush, as her legs began to wobble. 'I ... he ... where ...'
She managed to separate from him and rested her forehead against his."You'd better be careful." Takagi-san said as she placed a hand on his cheek. "I might get the wrong idea and think that you want us to stay as a couple."
"Yeah, I might get that idea as well." He pressed his lips back against her and now Takagi-san's nerves were wreaking havoc. She was enjoying the moment, but it felt as thought the tables had turned, and now she was the one being teased, which made it worse.
'Is he ... are we? What's ... no ... first things first.' She placed a hand on Nishikata's chest and pushed him off as she began trying to catch her breath. "Stop for a second." She said with a serious look in her eye.
Nishikata became concerned, and a little nervous. "Is ... everything okay?"
She took a deep breath and let her heart slow down a little. "Okay, now while I'd love to continue making out," A smile formed on her face as she placed a hand on his cheek. "Lying on the couch, with our lips locked against each other, whispering things in each other's ear as you hold me tightly in your arms."
Nishikata began to blush as he slowly returned to his senses. 'Wait ... what just came over me? Was I really just ... we ...' His face went even redder as the memory of what it felt like to hold her in his arms with his lips against hers flooded his fully conscious mind. 'Oh my ...'
'Thank goodness.' Takagi said as she let out a silent sigh of relief. 'Looks like I managed to knock him out of the zone ... okay ... I'm a little too nervous right now, I need a break.' "But before we continue ... I want to hear you say three words first."
"Huh? What three words?"
"I think you know." She placed her other hand on his other cheek and brought his face closer to hers. "And the first word is 'I'"
Nishikata's face couldn't go any redder as he almost stuttered. "I-I ..."
"That's right ... and the second word ... starts with an L."
'Now she's definitely not trying to hide it ... but ... I want to tell her, right?' "I ... think I know what the words are."
"Oh really? What are they then?"
He turned away, the feeling of Takagi in his arms still burning through his mind. 'Damn it ... I'm not in the right mindset anymore ... I need to back off.' "I ... think we should take it easy."
"If you insist." She separated from him as Nishikata walked over to the couch to lean on it.
'I just ... we just ...' He took a deep breath, then turned back to face her. "So ... shall we get started on that second movie?"
"Definitely." She stepped to the side and motioned for him to sit.
"Again?"
"If you think I'm going to give up my comfy seat, you've got another thing coming."
Nishikata sighed, and reluctantly sat down as Takagi-san sat on his lap again. "Here we go." Nishikata started up the movie, and wrapped his arms around his girlfriend's waist.
As the movie started proper, Nishikata felt his nerves die down a little, and rested his chin on Takagi-san's shoulder. 'That was ... an experience.' He placed his cheek against hers and closed his eyes.
"Trying to start things back up again?" Takagi-san asked.
"I ... huh?"
"You know, we can just pause the movie and pick up where we left off, all you have to do is say those three words."
Nishikaa blushed and looked away. "I just ... it's not ...I'm comfortable keeping things as they are for the time being."
"That's good to hear." Takagi said as she placed her hands on top of Nishikata's. 'I hope this never ends'
