Chapter 8
Luke (POV)
I was chatting with my sister Amatis who I haven't seen in a very long time, when I heard a loud scream and whipped my head around to see Jocelyn struggling with a knife pressed to her throat.
It was a good thing I always kept a sword on me so I quickly pulled it out of Its sheath. The person behind Jocelyn saw me and grabbed Jocelyn tighter
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" said the man. He was still hidden in the shadows but I would notice that voice anywhere
"Hodge?" I questioned. "Well done Lucian" said Hodge stepping into the light. I heard a couple gasps of surprise and shocked murmurs.
"LET HER GO!" yelled Stephan drawing his long sword. 'Wow i'm not the only one who carries a sword on them all the time' he thought
Clary (POV)
I stood there frozen in shock. Then I snapped into action and grabbed Herospheros from its place in my boot. then the mystery person stepped out of the shadows, and I faintly heard Stephan yell at the man to let my mother go, and Celine gasp.
Once I got a good look at the person and drew in a small gasp, much like celine's.
Beside me Jace, Alec and Izzy stiffened. We all knew who he was and what he did. The only confusing thing was that we all thought my father had killed him.
It was Hodge starkweather. How can he be alive? I thought, my father killed him! As if reading my mind Robert Lightwood questioned.
"Hodge, how are you here? Valentine killed you!" he said. "Yes yes, nice to see you too old friend" he said sarcastically while waving his hands. "No hello for your old camarad?" he questioned
When no one spoke he finally spoke "You really thought that fool killed me? How weak do you think I am!?" he yelled the last part.
"I just faked my death and that moron believed it! Ha! I was the one who killed him two years ago, not those stupid demons! And all of you believed me! You all are truly blunt!"
What? My father didn't kill him? She thought. "But enough with all this chit chat" said Hodge. "I came here to strike a deal".
When no one started talking he continued. "You see, there is only one way you will get your beloved Jocelyn back, and that is to give me the mortal cup!"
he stated "You have one week, or this lovely little lady here dies, and we wouldn't want that would we?" he said, inching his face closer to her mothers who squirmed a little, before he tightened his hold on her.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Amatis throw a Butterfly knife at Hodge's head but he was already gone.
A/N: hey guys I know I want a little silent there but I just needed a break, and also with all this crazy stuff going on I just wasn't very motivated to do anything.
Plus school on top of that yeesh! Some other thing I have been doing to get some Ideas for some plots was reading some Fanfictions from other authors. I just gotta say WOW! They blew me away.
Okay so some of you may wondering why I made Amatis use a butterfly knife but if you aren't that's okay too. I just thought that with Amatis's character either throwing knives or butterfly knives would be fitting.
By the way I just love comedic villains like the joker from Batman the Dark Knight! so I tried to make him as comedic as possible without making him not so fun to read.
And don't worry Simon is coming into this story very soon probably in Chapter ten to fifteen.
