"Rolanda, your arm is very clearly broken," Minerva was saying. "However unless Filius can do something about it you're going to have to bare it for the moment because Poppy was stupid enough to go into battle…"

"You alright, love?" Neville asked Luna. She looked shaken and had some grazes on her face but otherwise seemed fine.

"Yes," replied Luna. Neville breathed a sigh of relief. The most important person in the world to him was safe. He kissed her gently.

They sank together onto the floor, drained by the battle. Neville had no idea how the Death Eaters got into Hogwarts, but he didn't want to think about it now.

"Pomona- Horace- Filius- Neville," Minerva called, "over here please."

Neville squeezed Luna's shoulder and rose to his feet. He followed the headmistress over to the other side of the hallway.

"I need you all to inform your Houses what has happened," Minerva explained. "Leave out most details, just tell them some Death Eaters broke into the castle but we defeated them and the students are safe."

"Were they after Harry?" asked Filius.

Minerva sighed.

"Maybe," she said softly. "But I doubt it. They know they'd fail. No, Filius, they were not after Harry. I think they were after me."

Neville stared at her. "Why, Minerva?" he asked.

"It doesn't matter. Just assure the children they're safe, and head off to bed. Goodnight," she said briskly, shooing them away.

Neville made his way back to where Luna was sitting and helped her up. Together they followed Harry, Ron, and Hermione into Harry and Ginny's apartment.

"Poppy?"

Poppy Pomfrey groaned and opened her eyes.

"Oh, good, you're awake. Rolanda's broken her arm, and I'm too tired to fix it."

"What time is it?" Poppy asked, sitting up. She was laying on her bed in her suite. Minerva was sitting next to her, but that was it. Poppy presumed the others had gone to bed.

"Almost eight at night. The battle ended five hours ago. Now will you please go deal with Rolanda? Oh and Sybill, she's a bit shaken."

"Fine. You'd think Rolanda would learn not to punch and instead use her wand, but whatever. What about you?" Poppy's eyes darted back and forth, checking her friend for any sign of damage.

"I'm fine," Minerva assured her. "But you didn't need to come and fight. It was rather foolish of you, actually."

"I couldn't just watch all of you get yourselves killed," said Poppy.

"But you're the medi-witch. Not us. So the fact that you got hurt… That was really selfish of you."

"Oh, so wanting to protect Potter is selfish is it?" said Poppy angrily. Couldn't Minerva see she was just trying to help?

"Well, you didn't need to. They were after me," Minerva said calmly.

Poppy eyed her friend warily. "So I should have been protecting you?"

"No!" shrieked Minerva, jumping up from the bed. "You should have stayed behind, perhaps with Ginny. Rushing out there was so utterly stupid of you!"

"And watch all the people I love die?" said Poppy, matching her anger. "Absolutely not!"

Minerva looked like she was about to respond, but instead clutched her side and sank back onto the bed.

"You're hurt," Poppy said quietly.

"It's fine."

"No, it's not, Min. Lay down."

Once again Minerva looked like she was about to argue, but thought better of it. Poppy slid off the bed and went around to the other side. Minerva's robes were ripped, and on her side she had a nasty gash.

"How did you manage to get that?" Poppy murmured, running her other hand through Minerva's raven black hair, which had fallen out of its usual bun during battle.

"The Carrow girl, probably. It doesn't matter too much," Minerva said.

"Vulnera Sanentur," Poppy whispered, and the wound magically began to close up. "There, doesn't that feel better? If you weren't so damn stubborn maybe you'd consider coming to me if you're hurt next time."

"Thanks," Minerva said, grinning slightly at Poppy's choice of words.

"Rest for a bit- I don't care where. I'll go deal with Rolanda and Sybill," said Poppy.

"Oh!" said Minerva suddenly, looking grim. "I forgot to mention- Horace thinks someone let the Death Eaters in from the inside."

"What?" asked Poppy incredulously. "Who?"

"I don't know," replied Minerva, shaking her head. "Just be on the lookout."

"I will," Poppy assured her. "Now really, just lay here for a bit. I think I'll go check in on Ginny too while I'm at it." She threw one last glance at Minerva before heading out the door. Rolanda was waiting right outside, clutching her arm.

"Finally," she muttered. "My hand is killing me."

"How many times do I have to tell you to use your wand, not your fist?" said Poppy, pulling out her wand.

"Where's Minnie?" asked Rolanda.

"In there, but don't change the subject," responded Poppy. "Brackium Emendo." There was a small snapping sound. Rolanda grinned.

"Thank you," she said playfully, waving her arm in all different directions.

"Don't stress it. I don't want to see you back here for at least a month, do you understand?"

Rolanda stuck out her tongue and made a swift exit. Poppy looked around the hallway, but Sybill was nowhere to be seen.

"Sybill?" she called. "Sybill, where are you?"

Poppy made her way down the hallway, her skirts swishing behind her as she went.

"Sybill?" Poppy gave an exasperated sigh. Where was she?

Poppy decided she'd have to go find Sybill herself. I'll check her classroom first, she thought.

When she entered the Divination teacher's classroom a wave of perfume hit her like a boulder. Everything was darkly colored, and crystal balls filled most of the room.

"Sybill? It's Poppy. Are you in here?" When no one replied, Poppy turned to leave, but stopped last minute, because she heard a small scuffling sound from the corner of the room. She almost called out, but something told her not to. Quietly, Poppy walked nearer to the noise, and almost screamed at the sight.
