The long day of the weekend came. Shigeo and Tenko walked around the streets, having the cold autumn wind hit their face. He laughed as he watched tenko play with a few children at the park. He was glad that the few children weren't discriminate against others because of Quirks.
"Hero's we know today is nothing more but shams! All they care about is wealth and fame. We must bring back the true meaning of what heroes are!"
He turned around and saw a young man, probably just a few years younger than Shigeo himself. He was trying to talk to people probably, from what he had heard earlier. Glancing at tenko and standing up, he walked towards the male.
"Excuse me, but what were you saying about heroes earlier?"
"You agree with what I'm saying, right? Hero's today is nothing more but corrupted trash that only cares for their gains than for the people, the citizens they have vouched to protect."
"Well, I am not sure if they are all-"
"But they are! A few years ago, I decided to go into a private prestigious hero school. All the students there seemed to only care for money and fame, I-It's utterly disgusting!"
"Have you ever thought to ask them? Why other than just that? The way how the media talks about them. Everyone wants to be a hero too. Sometimes they might have a deeper meaning for such actions."
"That's ridiculous, a hero is one that saves people without a second thought, they risk their lives and well being to make sure others are safe."
"What about entrepreneurs? They won't seamlessly throw their money around, just because it will do people good. They think about the long run actions on how it can be beneficial for them and others around them. In American history, some people hated a few that didn't give away their money to the needy. They invested in other things such as libraries, hospitals, parks, and so on. Giving people things needlessly, nothing good can come out of it, right?"
"Economics and Heroes are different. Don't try to bring two different topics together."
"But they are more relevant than what you think. How else can Heros make a living? Giving right for others to make merchandise on them, appearing in ads, and more. Both benefit from one another. One for companies to earn more money, seconds, for the Heroes can earn some cash, and get their names to become more recognizable because many won't trust a hero that isn't well known."
"Even if that's true, there are disgusting corrupted-"
"Then why, are you here? You think your words will affect people, when even now, you don't' have faith in what you are even saying? You, sir, are more pitiful."
"How can you be so sure in your own words then!?"
"Because I'm in the faction of it and trying to make a change. If you want to make a change, then being here as a citizen won't do anything if others joined you. Then, you might have had a chance, but it won't happen that quick. You're desperate and hanging by the thread of this ideal. It's sadder that you dropped out of school. Staying would have helped you at least your looks would get you some attention once debuted. You could have used charms and convinced people to agree to your ideal. Yet, here you are like a sermon that comes door by door, the person that no one wants to listen to."
The other male looked at him in astonishment. Shigeo stood up and walked to the park, calling for Tenko. He rushed and hugged him around his leg. The older male laughed and picked him up with ease. Tenko wrapped his arms around his neck and smiled, telling him about the younger children. As he walked closer to the male from earlier, he sighed and looked at him.
"Try to do something if you want a change. Empty words will do you nothing. Find a way into the circular flow. If you can't be a hero, then slowly build the change. If not, then why try?"
Saing his final words as he left, Tenko turned and looked at the man and back to his father.
"Dad, did something happen to you between that man and you?"
"We just talked for a bit Tenko, that's all. Our views on the topic are just too different. We should hurry, don't want to be late for your appointment."
The boy nodded and rested his head on his shoulder. He couldn't help but look back at the gut sitting along in the park bench. Thinking to himself, maybe he should tell this about this event with his therapist?
Alright, so this is the last chapter for now. I hope you guys enjoy the pacing of this story so far. This chapter was to give more insight into how Shigeo would be now as an adult.
While yes, he would still want to give lots of hope to others and want to change them.
The are other times, to know when some people are hard to tell and rather to just give them some type of advice and see how they take the grain of salt. In away to me it just gives him a bit more mature vibe, that sometimes, endless hope is never a good thing.
That's all for now, next chapter will be a bit of fluff. Just to steer away, for now, the bit of drama the story has been going through.
