From what they learned from the parents, the disappearance of the kids were very similar. One second they'd be right next to them, and when the parents turned their attention away for a while, the kids were gone. "That's exactly what happened with me. No sound, no nothing. She just disappeared," Kamiko confirmed. The police on site also have their speculation on kidnapping and human trafficking, and have decided to conduct a full on search in the mall.
Just as Bakugou was about to call Clearvo to get him over, he got a warning on his phone that Kamiko was out of safe range. "Hey shitty woman, you said you gave the girl your phone right?" Bakugou asked.
"Yeah... Wait! You mean-" Kamiko realized what Bakugou was hinting at, and joined him to look at his phone screen. Bakugou pulled up the GPS, which showed Kamiko's cell phone was currently on the highway already headed out the city.
Bakugou tossed his phone to Kamiko. "You give me directions, we're going there right now," he said as he started heading towards the exit of the mall. On his way out, he grabbed a random police by the collar and demanded, "Where is your captain?!"
"H-He's outside sir!" the police saluted at Bakugou, recognizing the young hotheaded hero. Bakugou tossed him aside and continued his way out.
"Wait! Bakugou!" Kamiko shouted as she chased behind him. Damn his long legs! "How do you plan on getting there?!"
"By air!" Bakugou replied.
"You mean you plan to blast your way there?!"
"YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?!" Bakugou snapped at Kamiko.
"You don't have your hero's outfit. Doing that would overwork your quirk! By the time you get there you won't even have the strength to fight!" Kamiko pointed out. "Plus these guys are already out of the city on the inter-prefecture highway. Your quirk doesn't make you fly, you have to have landing spots. You can't just make use of cars as stepping stones in the highway!" The two of them made it out of the automatic door of the mall, and there were a line of police cars parked right in front.
"Tsk!" Bakugou clicked his tongue, knowing Kamiko has a point. "Well you got any better plans?! Just look! They're traveling over 140 km/hr!"
Kamiko looked at the GPS, brows furrowed. That's indeed really fast. Suddenly she turned to the police cars lined up all together, and a big smile graced her face. "I can go faster!" she said.
"What?" Bakugou raised a brow.
"Can you get me a police car?"
"What?!"
"Can you get me a police car?" she repeated. The look in her eyes told Bakugou she wasn't kidding. He had no idea what she wanted with a police car, but he made his way to the captain in charge, and told him to give them a police car.
"I can't just give you a police car," said the captain.
"Then you can sit in the back and supervise us. Just give me the keys! Or else we won't be able to make it! Hurry!" Kamiko shouted, her hand stretched out. Bakugou's eyes widened at how aggressive she was being. "KEYS!"
"H-Here..." the police captain Nakahara handed the keys of his own police car to Kamiko. "Ground Zero who is...?" Just as he was about to ask Bakugou who Kamiko is, the silver haired woman threw her bags in the trunk and already sat herself in the driver's seat. "HEY!" Bakugou got in the front passenger seat, so Nakahara had no choice but to get in the back. "What are you guys doing?"
"Call your men to follow behind. Though I doubt they can keep up. We're gonna chase those kidnappers!" Kamiko said as she buckled in her seatbelt and started the car.
"What?" The car engine started rumbling, interrupting Nakahara from getting his answers.
"You can drive?" asked Bakugou.
"Got my license over the past spring break," Kamiko grinned. She turned on the siren and grabbed the radio device and said, "Attention all officers! Attention all officers! We have lead on the kidnappers. Follow behind! Over!"
"What the fuck?! How do you know the police car so well?!" Bakugou stared at Kamiko in bewilderment.
The artist smirked at the hero. "I grew up in the police car!" she simply replied before the car swerved out of the parking spot and instantly hit the roads. Nakahara's back smacked against his seat from the sudden acceleration. Kamiko tossed the phone back to Bakugou. "Now you give me directions."
"R-RED LIGHT!" Nakahara screamed as they neared the next intersection, as their light was turning red. Instead of stopping, Kamiko stepped on the gas. In the split second before the other direction was given the green light after they were given the red, she ran across the intersection. All the other cars had to turn to the side, or stop, to give the police car right of way. Behind her were a line of police cars all with their sirens on, following behind. Nakahara felt like he almost had a heart attack. And it was just the beginning!
"Where did you learn to drive like this?!" Bakugou demanded. He held on the handle on the roof beside the door for support, for he didn't feel safe in just the seatbelt.
Kamiko turned onto the ramp to get on the highway. Bakugou's eyes kept widening as he watched the speedometer go past 170 km/hr after they got on the highway. Kamiko overtook any car that didn't get out of her way in time. "My dad said when he gets too old for car chases he needs someone to drive for him," Kamiko replied.
"Why the fuck would he be in a car chase in the first place if he's too old for it?!" Bakugou asked.
"HAHAHA! That's exactly what I said!" Kamiko laughed as she overtook a truck.
"Get on that ramp!" Bakugou pointed to the left.
"But that ramp leads to the mountain roads!" exclaimed Nakahara.
"Well that's where the kidnappers are so fuck it!" Kamiko replied as she switched lanes to the left while furiously honking at the cars in her way.
Nakahara took a look out of the back window. Holy shit! They had lost all the other police cars. This woman drives like a madman!
Bakugou stared in awe at Kamiko as the car made its way onto the ramp, speeding past all the other cars and getting onto the other highway. Kamiko had one hand on the wheel and the other on the hand brakes. There was an uncontrollable force tugging his lips upward, but he didn't know whether it was from the adrenaline of the racing car or from the unexpected secret skill the woman next to him possesses. This woman...
"We're getting close!" Bakugou said. "They're just ahead."
Kamiko turned off the siren. "Why'd you turn off the siren?" Nakahara asked.
"What, you want them to hear it and speed up?" Kamiko asked. "Plus there're no other cars on this mountain road." They were driving in the highway built on the side of a mountain. This was a shortcut that connected Tsukuba city to the neighboring city.
Horror made its way to Nakahara's expression when he saw the sharp right curve ahead. "SLOW DOWN SLOW DOWN! YOU'RE NOT GONNA MAKE THE TURN AT THIS SPEED!" Nakahara screamed as he slapped his hand on the back of Kamiko's seat rapidly. At this rate they'll fall off the cliff!
"Hold on tight." Not only did she not slow down, Kamiko sped up. She pulled the hand brake, and placed her other foot on the brakes.
"AAAAHHHH!" Nakahara closed his eyes to prepare for death. Bakugou just grabbed the handle to his side as the car drifted to the right, successfully making the turn without falling off the cliff.
"WHAT THE FUCK!?" shouted Bakugou. "Did you learn to drive in the race car track or something?!"
"Actually I did!" Kamiko didn't take her eyes off the curvy road. In the back, Nakahara completely passed out from the shock. "How far are we from them?"
"Close. The GPS signal shows that we're closing in on them," Bakugou replied. "They're at the end of the mountain road, heading onto the straight highway."
"So just a few more curves," Kamiko muttered. "Hang in there phone. I'm coming to save you."
"YOU'RE DOING THIS FOR YOUR PHONE?!" Bakugou couldn't believe what he was hearing. Is this woman for real?!
"What else?! I spent 50 thousand on that!" Kamiko shouted back. She drifted the car past another sharp turn, and then the rest of the mountain road were just small curves. Once they got past the mountain roads, Kamiko stepped on the gas, speeding past all the other cars in her way.
"It's the truck in front!" Bakugou pointed. Kamiko stuck herself between said truck and the car behind it. She then turned on the siren. The truck in front started to speed up again, but Kamiko continued to follow behind closely. Bakugou unbuckled his seatbelt and rolled down the window.
"What are you doing?!" Kamiko demanded.
"I'm gonna stop that truck! You slow down!" Bakugou shouted as he crawled out of the window and stood on the front window of the car.
"H-Hey! You're blocking my vision!" Kamiko shouted. She slowed the car down just like Bakugou said. Bakugou kicked off the car and blasted himself onto the roof of the truck.
Inside the truck were two men, a scrawny driver and a big buff body builder-like structured man. "There's a police car behind us!" the driver said. "Do you think they caught onto us?"
"Speed up!" the bigger man with a red mohawk shouted impatiently. The driver stepped harder on the gas, but suddenly they heard a loud thud. "What was that?"
Just as they were wondering what that noise was all about a figure landed on their front window. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" The two men screamed. A blonde spiky haired man squatted on their front window with a big blood thirsty grin. His eyes were red like blood, and his hands crackled with fire and smoke. The blonde man blasted the front window, glass shattered all over them. The driver couldn't see the front so he stepped on the breaks out of fear and instinct.
The sudden deceleration nearly threw Bakugou off the truck, but he used his explosions to keep him in place. The car turned, and stopped horizontally on the road. Thankfully Kamiko had slowed down enough so that she put enough distance between them to come to a stop safely. Once the car came to a complete stop the two men tried to get out of the truck, but Bakugou grabbed them by their collars and slammed their heads together knocking both of them out.
Kamiko put up her realm to prevent the kidnappers from escaping. She woke Nakahara up, and the police captain got out of the car. First thing Nakahara did was throw up on the streets. Then after he collected himself, Nakahara set up the cones around them and the truck, guiding the other cars on the highway.
Bakugou blasted open the back of the truck, and there they found the kids in the back. Thankfully they were all okay, just unconscious.
Although they created quite some traffic, Kamiko successfully got her 50 thousand yen smart phone back. "Ah! Thank god you're okay! I'm never letting you go ever again!" she kissed her cell phone.
Bakugou crossed his arms as he walked up to her. The man frowned at the woman rubbing her face on her phone and said, "Seriously? All that trouble just for your phone?"
"Of course! I bought it with my hard earned money!" Kamiko defended her case. "I'm just glad it's okay!" She pressed the phone to her cheek, closed her eyes and snuggled it. Bakugou rolled his eyes.
He let out sigh, but placed a hand on Kamiko's head. Kamiko's eyes widened at the sudden pat on the head. She looked up to see Bakugou smiling at her. "No matter the motive, you were great help. Good job."
Is he...complimenting me? Kamiko's jaws dropped. Instead of the usual raspy and annoyed sounding tone, Bakugou's voice sounded really soothing, and...hot. Holy shit does Bakugou normally sound like this?
Soon, the rest of the police caught up with them, and arrested the two human traffickers. Unfortunately Nakahara's police car is too low on gas to get back, so they had to call the tow truck to help bring the car back while Bakugou, Kamiko, and Nakahara sat in the back of another police car. The kids were safely returned to their parents, and the event ended with the media reporting it as Ground Zero saving the day on his day off.
"I can't believe they dropped us off at the mall instead of taking us home. I mean was it too much to ask?!" Kamiko complained while she and Bakugou walked on the streets with their shopping bags in their hands. It was four thirty in the afternoon, and the two of them were heading back to Kamiko's apartment after they returned the kids to their parents. Kamiko clung onto Bakugou's arm and whined. "Bakugouuuu I'm tired! Can you please carry me?"
"No. And get off me it's hot," Bakugou pushed her off his arm.
"Aw come on! I helped you save the kids today. And I'm wearing heels! Pleaseee!" Kamiko begged.
"Nrrrrgh... SHUT THE FUCK UP THOSE HEELS ARE BARELY TWO CENTIMENTERS TALL," Bakugou pointed out.
"Still though..." Kamiko pouted.
Bakugou groaned at the face Kamiko made. She looked so sad and dejected, like someone had stole her candy or something. His eyes trailed down to her feet. The heels may be short but they do look tiring to walk in. "Ugh... Fine... Get on," Bakugou knelt down, back facing her.
The silver haired woman cheered loudly as she nearly jumped on him. Kamiko wrapped her arms around Bakugou's neck and the man hooked a hand under each of her knees. "Wow Bakugou you have really nice back muscles!" Kamiko commented on the firm muscles beneath her breasts.
"Say another word and I'll blast you all the way back to your damn apartment."
Kamiko made a zip motion over her lips, but couldn't control her victorious smirk from playing on her lips. Bakugou held a scowl on his face, but there was this warm tingly feeling inside him, slowly taking over without him noticing.
A/N: I don't usually do double updates for this story XD. Originally I planned to have Arisa and Chase be one chapter, but it got too long so I split it into two. If you liked the chapter please consider favorite, follow, and/or review!
