Legoshi, you're gonna be fine. All ya gotta do is keep your eye on the ball."
"Ball?"
"You know what I mean. Now go! It's 8:53!"
"Right. See you Jack!"
Jack grinned and his tail wagged. "Bye!"
It had been 8:59 when Legoshi arrived at the Drama Club building. Only the lights on the stage were on as Louis went through the motions, his movements elegant and mesmerizing to even the most undiscerning eye. "You're early." Louis said in an irritated tone.
'I-uh..."
"I expect you to follow instructions to the letter. When I say 9pm sharp, arrive at exactly 9pm. Now, what we are going to do is go through the motions of Act 2, Scene 3 for Adler in the way that we practiced before you had you're little 'accident.' Take your place, we start right away."
Legoshi, as always, was intimidated by Louis. This time though, Legoshi could detect something faint, but strange. Legoshi shrugged it off as he worked the spotlight, keeping it centered on Louis when needed. He watched as Louis spoke his lines with ease and confidence; his movements at once breathtaking and powerful; even the smallest movements were done with a certain elegance that Legoshi couldn't help but admire.
"And scene over." Louis yelled. Legoshi flinched. Louis didn't see it. "Alright. The Drama Club meets for practice tomorrow. Be there."
"Does that mean I got the position back?"
Louis rolled his eyes. "Yes. Now leave before I change my mind."
There was no moon to be seen as Legoshi walked back to his dorm. It was cloudy, cold and wet; a damp, disgusting feeling night. The fog only added to that feeling, preventing him from seeing anymore than 20 feet in front of him. All he heard was the slap of his dress shoes on the pavement as he strolled along. As much as he hated the weather, he couldn't help but feel that it reflected how he felt about himself: disgusted, confused, and without direction. So he basked in it as he took his time.
Then he detected a scent. It was unmistakably hers. He found himself tracking the scent, walking towards its source. He focused on nothing else but that scent. An instinct for hunger grew the closer he got and soon he was running on all fours to chase her down. The scent was all that mattered. Saliva dripped from his mouth without him realizing it. His tail wagged.
With how fast he was moving, Haru barely had time to run, only taking a few steps away as he pounced on her. Skidding to a stop, she was caught in his deadly embrace. She wondered if this was the end, wondered if this was all there was: a pitiful existence made to be looked down upon with an end that would erase said existence. She waited for his next move as his breath rolled warmly across her collarbone and down her neck. She could feel his mouth open, wider and wider. His growl, whether contentment or contention, who knew? "They're going to take a big chunk out of me aren't they?" Not knowing who it was that caught her.
She could hear him, feel him, smelling the back of her neck, "to make sure I smell right?" She thought.
"I've. Smelled. You. Before." He slowly stated, as if it hurt to get the words out. Something within compelled him to say this even as his mind kept associating her scent with the smell of meat, an association he never wanted.
"You. Are. In. My. Dreams." She shook, her skin crawled.
"Every. Night. You are. There." As he continued to speak, an idea developed in her head.
"He. Shows. Me. Such. Horrible things."
"Keep talking." She thought as she felt for the buttons on his shirt and began unbuttoning them.
"I. Wonder if... if-uuuuhhhhhh. Wha-what?! What are you doing?!" He exclaimed as she smoothed down his now exposed abdomen fur as she grinded her butt against his crotch. "What am I doing?! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I-uh I... have a good night!" Legoshi yelled as he backed off and ran away.
Haru squinted her eyes in disbelief. "That actually worked?"
"So, how'd it go?" Jack said, wagging in anticipation of the good news.
Legoshi had since tidied himself up from the little... encounter he had and told Jack that he did indeed become a member of the Drama Club yet again, which made Jack's tail wag even harder. This in turn, made Legoshi's tail wag. He was happy that his friend was happy for him. Remembering that they might be able to smell rabbit off him, he told them that he needed to take a shower. "Operating a spotlight is harder than you think it is Jack."
Jack shrugged his shoulders. He could smell the rabbit. He even knew where it was emanating from, though he wasn't about to get closer. He'd just have to ask later, when Legoshi was ready.
