Hello all, sorry I haven't updated in a little while. I haven't been in the best headspace. Yesterday a mentally unstable women threatened to kill me. then today my case manager told me she's being moved somewhere else. Which has kinda shook me because I really like her and it's just upset me quite a bit. Then on top of all this just more drama through the last couple pf weeks. So that's why I wanted to update now. to get back to some sort of normalcy .
I hope you all really like this chapter.

also please note that I do have dyslexia. I'm not ashamed of it because it is something I cannot control but I am self-conscious about it. so a lot of my words are miss pelt and many, many of the sentience's are a little back to front. I can't tell you the amount of time I've gone to reread something that I have wrote but couldn't even understand what I was trying to say.
Rag doll chapter 9. Wouldn't it be nice by the beach boys.
He kissed all the way up her stomach, his hands roaming all parts of her body.
"Eyeball…. 'you're so good….". Ada could hardly talk.
She grabbed at his hair and unconsciously began to pull it. trying not to groan too loudly, worried that Ace and his friends may hear from the other room.
"you like that?".
"yes, yes I do". she squeaked out.
"you like how I make you feel?".
"yes!". she said even louder.
"you like it when I touch you like this?".
"so much".
"do you want me to stop?".
"no!". Ada yelled. "don't you dare stop or I'll punch you". she spoke angrily.
He laughed.
"Eyeball don't stop". She bit her lip to the point she could taste blood.
"Ada…".
"what?".
Eyeball was just about to enter her for the first time. he looked deep in to her green eyes. The chambers boy brushed a lock of her blond hair behind her ear. "tell me you love me".
"what!".
Dream over.
Ada sat up with a start, breathing heavily, with her hand on her chest. "holy crap". She said out loud. She got up and ran in to her bathroom. Ada turned her tap on and splashed cold water all over her face. she lent down on the sink and stared down the drain for a moment before looking up in to the mirror. Thinking about the last part of her dream.
"tell me you love me". she repeated looking in to the mirror in shook.
She walked back over to her bed and sat on it, Ada glanced up at the window to see it was still night time out side.
"what time is it?". she picked up her clock next to her bed. "2:36…. Great". She placed it back down and rested her head on the pillow. "tell me you love me". Ada whispered to herself once more before falling back to sleep.
She did not dream again for the rest of that night.
The next morning.
When Ada woke up the next Morning feeling like shit. The moment she opened her eyes there was no ignoring the pain in the back of her head, reaching in to her eyes.
It wasn't the most painful headache Ada had ever had, but it was still a bad one. probably the worst she'd had in a long time.
"ooohhhh shit". She hissed through her teeth, she grabbed her head and signed. 'there's no freaking way I can sit through science this morning like this'. She laid back down. 'I gotta call Eyeball and let him know that he doesn't need to pick me up this morning. If it's better later I might go for art, but then I'll have to walk'. Ada rolled off of her bed and sluggishly made it to the phone.
The Bloom girl paused when she suddenly remembered her dream from last night. She felt her face to hot.
She remembered the feeling of his hands all over her, the feeling of his sweet and hungry kisses. The taste of blood on her lips, when she had to bite down to stop from screaming his name.
Ada had a flash of heat run all the way through her body.
She shook it off and grabbed the phone. she dilated and waiting for somebody to pick up. A part of her worried that his father or mother may pick up, but she didn't to tell Eyeball not to bother coming.
Ring
Ring
Ring.
"hiiii". A squeaking said side through the phone line. "I can't find my pink pants".
"is this Maisie…?". Ada asked, unsure which twin she was now talking to. 'oh no…. another kid. Why does this keep happening?'.
"nooo, I'm Daisy, and I'm not wearing pants. There pink".
'for somebody who can't find her pink pants she sounds awfully happy about it'. "Well Daisy…. I'm a friend of your brothers. Richie… is he in right now?. if he is could you be a big girl and go get him for me?".
"Richie doesn't like soda".
'ohh god, not this again'. she rolled her eyes. "let me guess he doesn't like peas either?".
"or daddy".
Ada froze. She wasn't sure what to say to that, but luckily for Ada Daisy began to talk again without a care in the world.
"I like fireflies. I like it when they buzz". The little girl giggled.
"that's… nice". 'what made me so bad with kids?. If I had to pick one thing I'd say it'd because of not being around any as a child'. "sooooo…. Is your brother around". Ada ran a hand over her pounding head.
"Richie!". Maisie called out in her small voice. "do you have pink pants".
"no kid I don't". 'don't lose in on the little girl please, she's just acting her age. Even if my head does feel like it's splitting open'. Ada shut her eyes tightly.
"Richie doesn't own pick pants either".
Ada couldn't help but laughed out loud at the picture of her cobra boyfriend owning a pair of picks pants. But she regarded it right away, rubbing the back of her head.
She could hear voices on the other end of the phone. Ada assumed that Eyeball was now talking to his little sister.
"wow". He groaned. "Ada".
"Eyeball, you all good?". 'why did he say wow for?'.
"yeah I'm good, Mas asked me if I had her pants or something. When I said no she throw the phone at me and ran off".
Ada laughed again. "that's hilarious, does she do that often?".
"just one of the peaks of living with toddlers". He signed.
"I wanted to let you know that there's no need for you to pick me up this morning".
The chambers boy peaked up immediately. "why?".
"I woke up with a splitting headache. Any moment now my eyes and ears and gonna start dripping blood".
"ohh". he said. 'YES'. Eyeball yelled in his head. 'my new favourite things are headaches'.
"yeah if I feel better I might come later on in the day".
"what no!". the words blurted out of him.
"why?".
"because…". 'I don't won't you to see what my dad does to me'. "because…. Because… your my girlfriend….. and I care….. and if you come in with a headache…. That's just… bad". 'god you are a dumbass, why are you so terrible under pressure?. Ace, now Ace is good under pressure. I shoulda got him to lie to her for me'.
"what?".
"all I'm saying is, is that you should just rest for the rest of the day and don't leave the house at all. Could make you feel better is all".
"ookay". She said slowly. 'is he up to something?. What could he possibly be up to?. why doesn't the want to pick me up this morning?. he doesn't seem like he wants to, He wanted to pick me up yesterday. Something's wrong…. I can feel it… god damn it why are you always so paranoid?'.
"well okay then….. I'll… call you later okay. see how you are. drink a lot of water, that's meant to help you".
"yeah, yeah…. I will".
"cool, cool… well then… see ya later". He hung up.
"what the hell was that all about?". Ada Bloom asked herself out loud. 'maybe it was nothing?. Maybe he's just wants to hang with his friends today and didn't want his girlfriend around to cramp his style?. Or… no, no Ada. Don't start with all the or's. nothing bad is going on. just leave it and do what he said, just go back to sleep for a while'. She reluctantly shrugged it off and went back to bed.
At school.
"you look like shit buddy".
"thank you….. Charlie. I needed that today". he said sarcastically.
"not worth comin' today man". Billy tossed his cigarette on the ground and lit up a new one.
The cobra gang were hanging out in the Castle Rock school parking lot waiting for the bell to go off, telling them to go to their classes.
"I wanted to". Eyeball muttered.
"why?, who wants to come to school, rather stay at home all day". Charlie laughed and shrugged.
"who wants to come to school?. Whoever would rather be here then stuck in a house all day with the person who did this to him. that's who rather go to school".
The chambers boy didn't realize Ace was watching him.
Vince punch Charlie in the arm.
Charlie shrugged at the slightly bigger boy. "I forgot". He whispered.
"how". He gesture to Eyeball.
"sooo…. Eyeball".
"we haven't had sex yet Billy".
"if you haven't then how come you ain't been acting like Billy. He ain't had sex in mouths?". Mudgett said, lounging on the hood of his car.
It was true, if you didn't know the other boy very well you'd think he was joneing for some drugs all the time.
"what do you and Ada do when your not with us anyway?. Talk?. what do you even talk about with chicks?". Fuzzy crossed his arms.
"what do they talk about?". Charlie stared at the ground, almost like he was really thinking about it.
"don't know…. shoes maybe?". Billy squinted.
"yeah we all how much all they like taklin' bout shoes". Vince snickered. "get this…. My sister had no room in her closet anymore because of how many she got".
"a whole closet full?". Charlie looked at him in disbelief. "just full of shoes".
" yeah… and there not just in the closet either. She leaves them in the hallways so we's can't walk through it without tripping over'em".
"ever get a heal in the eye?". Fuzzy asked looking horrified. "those things look deadly".
"ohh great, thanks fuzzy, now every time I walk in to my house I'm gonna have the fare in me of going blind".
Ace still hadn't said anything, he had been too busy watching the way Eyeball looked down at the ground like he was trying to hide his face from them.
"don't know?". Mudgett shrugged.
"don't know what?".
"just I can't believe a chick needs that mush shoes".
"he has a point Vince". Charlie said. " it ain't like there are too many places for a girl to go in this town".
"Yeah there's school… the ice cream store, a dance everyone and a while…".
"we get it Mudgett Castle Rock is boring". Vince said dryly.
"all I'm saying is, nobody needs that many shoes. No even dames".
"I want another opinion then". Vince crossed his arms.
"from who?".
"Hey Eyeball, you seen how many shoes ya girl has?".
Nothing.
"Eyeball!".
Nothing.
"Eyeball!". They tried to get his attention.
nothing, the chambers boy still looked down at the others like none of the other boys were around. Ace was the one to noticed what the chambers boy was doing.
He was smirking.
Thinking about the day before in his bedroom.
And trying to hide it from his all his friends.
"Fella's….. our boy here is smirking".
Fuzzy frowned. "what no he, He is, he is Eyeball's smirking, fella's Eyeball smirking". He said probably too excitedly, while pointing at the chambers boy.
The cobra gang wolf whistled and howled. Assuming they all knew what that would of meant. Because to them there'd be only one reason for a of them to grin like that while talking about sex.
Ace smacked him on the shoulder a few times.
"Fella's…". he tried to calm them down while still not being able to suppress his smirk.
"well done buddy well done". Vince slowly applauded for him.
"how was she?".
"where'd it happen?".
"why are you always lying to us about it?".
"Fella's…. it didn't..".
"how the hell". Billy smashed his bottle of soda on the ground. "how the hell…. Does Ada fuckin' Bloom. Agree to jump in to bed…. with him…. only less the two weeks after dating?. While I'm still on the fuckin' fence, just trying to get passed second fuckin' base?. HOW?. HOW THE FUCK DOSE THAT HAPPEN?. That shit ain't fuckin' right".
"look at it this way Billy". Ace chuckled. "ya get to live vicariously through Eyeball here".
"look guys…". the chambers boy tried again but had no such luck.
"what kind of stuff does she like?. She's always caught me as a girl who would be loud. Is she loud Eyeball?. Is she loud?".
"are you gonna answers Charlie's questions Eyeball or what?". Asked Fuzzy.
"ohh my god, all of you, shut up. We're not having sex". Eyeball didn't say it angrily but more like he was feed up.
"then why ya grinning like that then?". Mudgett laughed, not believing his friend.
"because we…. Well… we didn't have….. but we….". 'this is humiliating'. He thought, feeling his cheeks go hot.
"fooled around?". Vince wiggled his eyebrows.
Without meaning to Eyeball looked back down at the cement.
"ohh dang, look at his cheeks".
"shut up Mudgett, ya virgin". The chambers boy tossed his smoke at him.
"come on Eyeball….. don't leave us hanging'".
He glanced up at glare at Ace. But of course the blond leader wouldn't take that Eyeball seriously.
"it wasn't… like that".
"Eyeball". Ace said in a low voice.
"we just…. yeah…. We fooled around". the chambers boy could help but smirk.
The boys hollered.
Billy didn't join in, he stayed lent on his car with an sour expression on his face.
"how far did ya get with her though?". Charlie asked.
"far enough". He shrugged. 'if I tell'em all the juicy details they'll for sure tell Ada when they see her next. Of course they would, why wouldn't they. The guys wouldn't be able to help themselves. You think just cos we're friends they ain't gonna try and embarrass me and her. well you'd be wrong. Cos as long as they can get a laugh out of it then they'll be fine with it. plus… if I do tell'em anything, or too much she might not wanna do that again…. and I wanna do that again, like really….. really…. Badly'.
"what's that mean though". The tell lanky blond lightly back headed his shoulder.
"it meansss…. It ain't ya business".
"come on man, don't do this to us". Vince whined.
"Eyeball, please, please do this to us". Billy didn't want to hear about how much action his friend was getting, from a girl he hadn't even known for that long a time.
"come on Billy….. marvel in what the future could be for you buddy". Laughed Mudgett.
"yeah man, think about Connie, think about her in bed, and think about what's gonna get her in to bed". Fuzzy motioned with his finger towards the chambers boy.
"alright fine, tell me about you sex life".
"no". Eyeball laughed out.
"what?, your kidding, Eyeball… why don't you want me to have sex?".
"because I don't care about your dick".
"he's got ya here Billy". Ace snickered.
"Eyeball come on tell us something".
"yeah anything".
"come on Eyeball".
"be a pal".
"come on man".
"just gloat already would ya".
"come on man have some humanity".
"why are ya tryin' to torture us for?".
All the teenage boys whined, trying to bate him in to talking….., it worked.
He laughed, hard. "fine, fine, I'll tell you, I'll tell you".
They all hollered and clapped.
"well we was on my bed…..".
Ada Bloom at home.
Ada slowly opened her eyes, the first thing she did was lightly touch her head. hoping that her headache was gone.
It wasn't.
Not entirely.
Ada could still feel it all behind her eyes, but other then that she was fine.
'hallelujah'. She jumped up from her bed and began to get dressed.
The green eyed beauty didn't want to admit it, but even since Eyeball had hung on her she'd felt that something was up. She wasn't sure if something had happened to him or if he had done something, but this feeling, this feeling deep inside of her knew that whatever it was… it wasn't gonna be good.
She throw her school bag over her shoulder, and didn't even bother placing her toothbrush back in to the holder. Ada just tossed it on the sink.
But there was one thing missing.
Ada couldn't find her hat.
The one she wore to hide her long blond hair from the sight of others.
"shit". She spoke out loud. "shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit". Ada was saying over and over again. throwing things like items of clothing and other objects over she shoulder trying her hardest to find her hat.
"were the hell could it be?".
She throw her bag down in a huff and ran in to the spear room they had. She opened up the closet door and picked out one of her father's old jackets with a hood on it.
"you'll just have to do". she throw it on and ran to grab her bag.
"mum!". She called wondering if Nora were home.
And like back magic she appeared.
"what are you doing home?".
"I missed first lesson today, cos I had a headache. It's gone now so I'm gonna head to school". She explained.
"I'm going off for a few days alright. I'm not sure when I'll be back. I'm gonna leave money for you like always".
"okay, bye mum". Ada ran out the back. it hadn't even registered what Nora had said to her.
as Ada was about to enter the school.
Just as the shorter girl was about to throw the school door open she froze.
A horrible thought had crossed her mind.
'it had been a bet. What if it never stopped being one. what if he's acting all weird he's done with me?. and that's he in there with some other girl'.
She did all she could to hold that tear back.
"no….. no…. that isn't gonna happen. Your over reacting to nothing. He said he cared about you…. you remember that, you remember that he said he cared about you'.
The bloom girl breathed in real deep and opened the door.
The Castle Rock school hallways.
"didn't think that girl be willin' to do that….. ever".
"oh my god, Charlie…. Stop talkin' about her will ya". the chambers boy was beginning to regret telling his friend about what had happened between Ada and himself. not because he felt guilty but because not one of them would shut up about it.
"Fella's". a girl with short brown hair and light blue eyes came from around the corner and looped her arm with Billy's.
"Connie… always a pleasure". Ace said coolly.
"back off, she's mine". Billy joked.
"what are we talking about?".
"ohh just Eyeball….. and his girlfriend".
"Eyeball". She beamed. "you and that Ada Bloom still together?". Connie was happy but was also so quite puzzled. It wasn't like she hadn't heard about the two of them. but she just assume that it was just gonna be a fling and that would be it. Billy had told her about the bet Charlie and both made. And though she didn't agree with what they were doing she'd be lying if she said that she wasn't curious to see what would happen. It was known of her business so she didn't get involved. "now why didn't you tell me". she whacked Billy in the chest.
"cos there wasn't nothing to tell…. Till today". He said under his breath.
"what's that mean?". she edged her way closer to him. the browned haired girl wasn't a mean spiteful girl, but that didn't mean she wasn't a great big gossip. Connie was one of the worst in the whole entire school.
Billy glanced at Eyeball who was glaring daggers at him. "I'll tell ya later". He whispered.
"hey Connie".
"yes Charlie?".
"how many shoes do you have?".
She laughed. "what?, how many shoes do I have?. Why?".
"Vince was tellin' us that his sister had a closet just for her shoes, and we's just don't believe him".
"I'm tellin' ya guys I ain't never even seen her feet. She's always got herself a new pair if shoes on". Vince shrugged.
"well what we's want to know is…".
"no Fella's. not every girl our age has a 1000 different shoes in her closet. Some girl just like having a lot of them that's all. I for one… like hair braids".
"what are….".
"there theses things that go in our hair Charlie. Some girl don't even like girly things that much, like Jill from my P.E class. She ain't really in to girly stuff that much, she still wares it sometimes but not often. Jill's more in to spots".
"a chick in to spots?". Vince scratched his hard.
"yeah it happens". She giggled. She looked to the chambers boy. "what about Ada Eyeball?. What kinda stuff she in to?".
"ohh we all know what's she's in to". Fuzzy snickered.
Thinking that Eyeball was gonna punch at least one of them and all, except Ace took a step away.
But he had no reaction.
"hay Eyeball, Eyeball, did ya hear what Fuzzy said?. did ya, did ya?". Charlie laughed.
The chambers boy didn't move a muscle. He'd heard what Fuzzy had said, but he had other things to worry about in the second.
"he thinkin' bout it?". grinned Billy.
"no man, he looks more….. sick". Vince squinted at the chambers boy.
All the boys… and Connie, moved inwards a little bit to get another look at him.
The expression on The Chambers boy's face made him look like he and just been shot. As if he had never been truly spooked before.
Ace was the one who followed Eyeball's direction, his eyes widen once he realized what was happening. "oh". He said out loud.
The cobras slowly turned to see what their leader and his right hand man was looking at.
Ada Bloom making her way through the hallways.
Ada couldn't think straight, she was trying not to but every time she thought about what would happen once she saw Eyeball again she became more and more worked up.
Even when the blond girl told herself that he was different and that she was just getting herself paranoid for nothing, it didn't do a thing to ease her mood.
'where is he?, what classes would he have right now?, what day is it?'. her breathing started to become more and more rugged as she navigated she way through the halls.
She hadn't realized when she started running, but she realized when she'd stopped.
Because…. it was the moment she saw him.
Ada made a sharp turn around a concern and Eyeball chambers was the first thing she saw….. the second was all his scabs and bruises.
The chambers boy was leaning against some lockers with his gang. But Ada took absolutely no notice of them.
She didn't know what to do…. so she just stood in the middle of the hallway staring at her boyfriend in horror.
'who would, why would?...'.
He looked up and made eye contact with her, noticing her for the first time. and it was in that moment the green eyed girl understood why he was acting so strong to her on the phone.
'He didn't want me to see him like this'.
She wasn't sure how long they were looking at each other for, but she did know that she needed to go over to him. Ada couldn't just stand and stare at Eyeball any longer, she needed to be with her boyfriend.
She ran up to him. "what happened to you". the cobras moved out the way for her. and opted to watch from the side lines. She went to hold both sides of his face but missed him.
"Ada it was nothing". Eyeball looked down and stepped away from her. trying to avoid her hands.
She re grabbed at him, and this time was able to get a hold of him. Ada gently place both of her hands on either side of his face. "don't tell me this was nothing". She softly rubbed and checked out his wounds. "what happened to you,
The chambers boy tried to move out of her reach but she wasn't letting him. "Ada don't freak out on me kay". he hissed through his teeth. He stepped back again only to have Ada pull him to her.
"who did this to you. ohh look at you, ohh look at you ears". She grazed the top of his ears were he had also been cut.
"Ada..".
"and your hands and neck".
Eyeball didn't know what to say to her so he look down at the ground in shame. her seeing him like this was the last thing he ever wanted.
Then something in her click.
Ace words suddenly rang out through her mind. She began to remember what he said he do.
She frowned and made a sharp turn towards the blond leader. But before she could say anything he throw his hands up in surrender. "hey girly don't look at me, I ain't have nothing to do with this".
"then who did?". She asked trying not to shake with rage. 'who else would of done this to him?. the blond jackass said he was gonna beat him up for not telling him about us. why should I believe him when he says he wasn't the one who hurt him?'. but just as that thoughts ran through Ada's head something else hit her…. and hard. Her mind suddenly flashed to the two of them in front of her fire place. She remembered the horrific sight of the big black and purple bruise and kissed his skin.
Ada made eyes with Ace, if only for a moment, But that was she ended. It was the look on his face that told her she was right in what she was thinking.
"your father did this to you". Ada said softy, with an added horrified tone, as she spun around to face her boyfriend.
He looked down. "Ada…. Please…. Just…. forget it okay".
She got closer to him, so close that her nose was almost touching his chest. "did he do this?". She whispered. Eyeball lent his head down so it was touching her, and gently rocked it back and forth.
They did this while all the other cobras…. an Connie, Watched on in fascination. Not saying a word, Mostly out of seer awkwardness. Even the mighty Ace felt out of place standing there, on the side lines.
"are you alright?".
"right as rain".
Ada could feel him smile against the top of her head. she opened her eyes to see a couple of other students looking at the pair. Most notably Eyeball's cuts and scrapes. Ada frowned at them but they didn't notice, being to side tracked by the sight of her boyfriend.
He of course he didn't care though. At this point in his life Eyeball chambers was used to it all.
"here". Ada moved away from him so that she could take off her hoddie. Letting her long blond hair fall down her back with giving a shit if anyone saw it or not.
No one in school had even seen her hair before. Ada taking off her jacket only made more people look their way but she didn't care as long as the other students weren't looking at the chambers boy.
"Ada". He let of a small chuckle at what she was doing "I don't need…".
"just put it on". she said softy.
"fine". He took it from her knowing that she wasn't gonna let up on him. "it's on". he smiled for her. he didn't want her to see him as some victim. 'I can take anything that old man throws at me. but what I can't take….. is the way her face is all sad right now'. the Chambers boy wrapped his arms around her, as she lifted his hood up around his face. placing both hand back on to the sides of his face, she drew him in closer to herself again. and this time instead of him resting his head on her forehead, the couple lent the tops of their head together, in an almost lovingly way.
It was a sweet moment for them.
"it's gonna be alright". she whispered to him quietly so only he could hear.
The cobra gang sightly shuffled around behind them, not sure what to do.
After a few moments of their sweet interaction Ada pulled away from hm and looked in to his eyes. "I'm taking you home with me".
Charlie let of a low whistle from behind them. "wow". Vince elbowed him in the ribs.
She grabbed his hand out without looking back at his gang, led him out of the school hallways, and out of the school.
The cobra's watched them as they went.
"now why don't you and me ever have nice moments like that?". Connie lightly elbowed
"we have nice moments babe". He defended himself. not wanting to look like a sissy in front of his friends.
"like when?. Billy you just name one nice moment we've had like them".
He paused trying to come up with something. "ohh… got it". he crossed his arms. "two count, two weeks ago…. When you said you had a sore throat I, me, you caring as hell boyfriend. brought you cherry ice cream… your favourite".
"that doesn't count". She cried.
"that doesn't count?". He said in disbelief. "how Connie?. Explain to me how that doesn't count?. How does my nice ass gesture, doesn't count as me and you havin' a nice moment".
"well first of all is ain't no nice gesture if I have to asked you to being me the ice cream…. And". She added. "it don't count if you had to call me from the store because you forgot which kind I liked".
"fine…. One blip".
"second of all". She stated.
"ohh his is gonna be brutal". Mudgett snickered to Fuzzy.
"it don't as a nice gesture if you ate some of it on the drive over to give it to me".
"Connie…".
"and third of all Vince was with you. does any of that sound like a nice gesture to you". she poked his chest.
"can I way in here". Vince poked his head out from around Billy. "your ice cream was melting, we had to do something".
While the three of them were bickering the blond leader was still staring off in to the distance. Seemingly thinking hard about something. It was only a few minutes after Ada and the Chambers boy had well and truly gone he finally said something. Ace turned back to Charlie. "yes". he said then turned away again. leaving Charlie and the rest of his gang looking and feeling completely confused by his actions.
"yes what Ace?". The tall lanky teen asked. Looking side to side ta his friends.
"that night at the auto shop, you asked if he was gonna marry her".
"yeah, what bout it?".
"yes….. I think he's gonna marry her".
Ada and Eyeball at her place.
Either of them spoke the whole way home.
Eyeball didn't know what to tell Ada to make her feel any better, And Ada didn't know what to say.
But one thing she did was keep one of her hands on his as he drove the car with his other hand.
She had him pull up in to the drive way, not caring if her mother was home or not.
What Nora had told Ada that morning still had not yet registered in her mind. believing that her mother could be home at any moment, she had no idea that Nora would be gone for a few more days.
"ya mum don't look home". The chambers boy "sure to don't want to me park around the…".
"Eyeball I'm so sorry". Ada suddenly said.
"bout what babe?".
"not believing how bad it was when we first meet". The green eyed beauty looked down in shame.
"Ada". He shifted his body so that now he was facing in her direction. " I don't care that you didn't believe me when we first meet. That carp don't matter now okay".
"but I should of….".
"we barely knew each other babe. I don't blame ya for that. and hey… I was tryin' to get with ya because of a bet. I would of said anything to have ya go with me then. remember how annoying I was being?". He gave her a sly smile and raised an eyebrow. Trying to lighten the mood.
"I remember how annoying you was being". Ada mumbled still looking down. Not willing to meet his gaze. She looking up not making eye contact and all so lightly lent her hand on his chest. "I just don't understand how a father could do this to somebody they love". She spoke quietly.
"I can tell ya that".
She meet his eye.
"he don't love me". the chambers boy spoke like he were completely clam. "and I've known it ever since I was a little kid. And it the same with my brother and sisters. He can't love anybody, and ya know what…. That's fine".
"how?". Ada asked in shock. "Eyeball how is that fine?, why do you think that's fine?".
"because we don't love him nether. Did I tell ya that he ain't ever even held the twins before?. Or that he don't even know Kate's name?. he don't have to love us, we won't miss what we never had".
"I love you". she said without thinking. 'we won't miss what we never had'. She filched at his words. 'I think hearing him say that will haunt me for the rest if my life. Even for me who's had a mother as cold as I have, I still know love. The thought of him never knowing…. Never feeling. Makes my chest feel like's it's burning a hole in to hell. This isn't the ideal way I would of wanted it to come out, but I need him to know he isn't alone… because I love him'. Ada grabbed both sides of his face and repeated. "I love you. I love you Richard Chambers, and I care about you. and you can't say you don't have love because when it's come to me you will always have love".
Eyeball stared at her wide eyed.
"I don't expect you to say to back. I don't want you to feel like you have to. but I… but I can't let you think that…". she took in a deep breath. "no one loves you because that just isn't true". She looked away again suddenly feeling foolish for saying anything. 'okay so maybe this wasn't the right time to…'.
Her thoughts were cut off when she felt his lips crash on to hers.
He had both of his hands on either side of her face like she did with him. he pulled away and looked deeply in to her light green eyes. Wanting her to know that he meant business. "I love you too". He whispered.
A hour later.
The two were laying down on Ada bed both looking up at the ceiling. The blond girl had her head resting on his chest and the dark headed boy had his arm around her waist, holding her as close to him as he could get.
Once they had gotten in side of her house the first thing she did was make him take off his shirt. She wanted to make sure that none of his scraps were infected.
Ada had found a note from her mother with Money in it. reminding her that she's be gone fore a few days.
to say that the couple were relieved would of been an understatement.
He was hesitant at first telling her that he was fine, and that this had been going on for years. Eyeball told her that he'd know if something was off with him because he knew what an infected wounds felt like. But she was persistent in him letting her cheek them out. and after several minutes of the two of them back and forth Ada pulled the, do it for me card. And he eventually let up.
"you just wanted to get me shirtless didn't you?". the chambers boy smirked and looked down at her. "cos just for future reference all ya need to do is ask me babe, I mean damn girl I'll be happy to take it all off for you". He joked.
"I don't want you ging back there, back to that house. Not while he's there".
"Ada, I'll be..".
"no". she sat up. "don't tell me you'll be fine. How could you or anyone for that fact, possible ever be fine living in that… in that…". she couldn't find that words to use.
"rat's nest?".
"I was thinking nightmare".
He sat up to. "Ada…".
"stay". She stated.
"what?".
"you heard me. my mum's rely ever here, you know that. I drought she'd even notice, and even if she did there's not a god damn thing in this world that she would be able to do about it".
"Ad..".
"stay, please don't go back there". She jumped off of her bed and ran over to her night stand on the other side of her room. She snatched a mirror off of it and bolted back over to the bed. She held it up towards his face. "look at yourself….. is this what you want your life to be like forever?. Getting beat up by your own father…. Your own flesh and blood for no reason all god damn day?. living in fear for the rest of your life because you don't now when your drunk good for nothing father is gonna pick up another bottle?. Never knowing if your gonna have a broken nose, or arm, or leg that day?. not knowing if he wouldn't blind you for simply just getting a glass of water in the mornings".
"sayin' never knowin's a bit much….. he's always drunk. We grow up bein' a alert, when it comes to him there ain't anything me and Chris can't handle". The two older boys in the chambers house hold could hold their own against what they had been given….. most of the time. it was a long running joke with the two brothers and each of the friend groups that both boys were born with their ears wide open.
"BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO HANDLE ANYTHING". She yelled without meaning to. Ada noticed the semi shook expression he wear on his face and covered her mouth. She didn't want him to think that she was made with him. it was just hard for her to fathom anyone, Boy or girl could live that way for so long. That they'd actually have to adapt to loving in that hell. That anyone could adapt to living that way all their life. Just the thought made her want to be sick everywhere. On the walls, on the floor, even on that ugly horrid rug in the living room.
'I guess I can't be too surprised she can shout. If anything it was my introduction to her. after all…. She wasn't well known for her long blond hair. Her temper was like the Lochness monster, only talked about and never seen'. Eyeball thought and he sat up ever further on the bed.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell at you". she turned away from him.
The Chambers boy got up from the bed and walked over to her. he looped his arms around her waist and buried his nose in her blond hair.
After a moment Ada spun around to be face to face with him. "you're not going back there". She said firmly. "you not going back just to get beaten at the first chance he gets". Ada grabbed a hold of both sides of his shift collar. She drew him even closer to her so that know both their foreheads were touching. "I need you…. I need you to be safe. Give me that Pease of mind and stay with me".
"and my siblings?".
She drew in a tight breath. 'damn'. She felt a tear run down her face. 'he isn't staying is he'.
"I want to stay with you….. but the girls..".
"but the girls". They said at the same time. she looked at determined at him. "then we get our own place. And we take your siblings with us".
He wanted to ague the opted for keeping his mouth shut for now. he could see that there wasn't gonna be any negotiating with her while she was so worked up. He knew that would be a losing battle. 'whatever I say is just gonna up set her more. I'll just tell her what she needs to hear for now'. "what ever would make you happy babe, I'll do it". he kissed her cheek.
"stay tonight". Ada gripped his shirt.
"okay". he nodded.
"I mean Eyeball. I mean what I say when I say I'd live with you if I thought you'd be safe. And the girls…. And your brother". She gently stroked his cheek. "I hate him…. I've never meet him but I hate him".
"hey you and me both babe". He snorted.
She looked down at the floor for a long moment. "will they be okay for the night?". She asked about his siblings.
"yeah they'll be fine, he's been drinkin' all day. he'll pass put at the bar, then one of his drinkin' buddy's will drag him back to his place".
"has it always been like this for you?".
"only since I was born". He snickered trying to lighten the mood.
"please don't joke".
"sorry…. You look tired".
She gazed over to the clock. "its not even four a clock yet". The blond rubbed her eyes. "how do you feel?". She grazed a finger over one of his many, many scraps.
"I feel like sun shine". The chambers boy said with a straight face.
Ada tried not to snort at him. "I said not to joke".
"no really…. I'm not joking. Hell I could break out in to song if I could sing".
"stop it". she bit her lip trying not to chuckle.
"in fact…. I think I just might".
"don't you dare".
He began to hum. He grabbed both her lower arms with his hands, and started to sway slowly from side to side. His humming become more and more louder. While their knocking became more and more faster. Until he was picking her up and spinning her around, as if the pair were on a Ferris wheel.
Ada laughed. "stop it, stop it I'm getting dizzy".
He placed her back on to the floor. "see…. I'm fine". He placed another kiss on her forehead. "I'm always fine when I'm with you". 'when I'm with her…. it's like my father… my home like…. The hell with it anything for her doesn't exist. When I'm with her… it really is like it's just the two of us in the world. On one else matter to me when it come to this chick. How could any one else?'.
He had to staddle her so she wouldn't fell over form all the spinning around. he couldn't help but laugh a little bit at her. "lay down with me again". she grabbed his hand and all but dragged him back to the bed. Ada pushed him down and placed her head on his chest like before.
"Ada".
The green eyed beauty gazed up at him.
"you know that I'll always try to make you happy….. right?".
She placed her head back down and nodded against his chest, so that he could feel it. "you know that I'll always try ti keep you safe….. right?".
He smiled and kiss the top of her head.
Hours and hours later.
The pair had stayed that way for a long time.
mainly talking.
At some point either of them wanted to talk about Eyeball home life and longer, and changed the convocation to something.
Ada asked him about Kate's birthday, and if she liked her gift.
The chambers boy told her that she did, and that she became even happier once he told Kate how who picked it out.
Flash back.
"can she help me read it?".
"yeah kid Ada will help ya read it, she is the one who picked it out".
Both Eyeball and Kate were sitting at the kitchen table. Old man Chambers was passed out cold, out the back of the house. And their mother was still asleep. the twins were playing in the living room, while the younger Chamber boy still hadn't gotten out of bed yet.
Eyeball was eating a piece of toast when Kate had gotten up and toddled in to the kitchen. In her light pink pyjamas with bunny's all over them.
He picked her up and sat her in one of the chairs ta the table. He then two slices of bred in the toaster for her and went off to get her book. The book he had gotten that day at the book shop with Ada. The day he had been able to convince her to let him drive her home.
"when are you gonna marry her?". Kate looked up at him with happy little eyes. "she's nice to me'.
"yeah I know she's nice to you". he looked down feeling uncomfortable at his little sisters question.
"are you gonna buy her a ring".
"I don't know". he shook his head. "why don't you open it and read me the first page". He asked Kate, trying to distract her from her interrogation. "come on opened it up".
"I can make her a ring out of flowers". The little girl smiled a big cheesy smiled. I make flowers out of dandelions at school".
"sounds fun". He said dryly. 'well I lost her'. he fought back the urge to roll his eyes. 'no point in tryin' to distract her now. all she's gonna care about is talkin' bout a weddin' that ain't even gonna happen….. for a while'. He felt weird thinking it, The chambers boy hadn't thought about marrying her, but he hadn't thought about not marrying her either. All he knew at that moment was that he had no intentions of breaking it off with her.
But without knowing it at tat time, a seed had been planted in his mind.
"can I help her pick out a dress?".
"help who pick out a dress?". Chris had woken up and strolled in to the kitchen.
"Riches wife". He answered her brother in her small, high pitched voice.
He froze, but snapped out of it and spun around to face his older brother. "wife?".
"she isn't my wife". Eyeball bit in to another slice of toast.
"not yet". The little girl smirked.
He looked pointedly at Kate. "she's my girlfriend".
"wife girlfriend". The little girl giggled.
Chris shook his head. "ohh okay". 'I ain't awake enough for this shit yet". He thought. He put the toast in the toaster and kissed Kate on the top of her head. "happy birthday".
"Richie got me a book". She held it up to him happily.
"a book?". Chris raised an eyebrow at Eyeball.
"yeah a book, what about it?". Eyeball shrugged.
"from the book store?". Chris asked in disbelief.
"yeah from the fuckin' book store. Where else do ya think?".
"didn't know ya knew where the book store was is all". The younger Chambers boy smirked and picked his toast up. Taking a large bite of out it. not bothering with butter or jam. "in fact… I didn't know you could read". He laughed.
"in fact…. I didn't know you were ugly". Eyeball throw a cup at him, which he caught before it hit him. "gotta be faster than that big brother". He gave him a smug smirk.
Eyeball smirked back and gave him the finger.
"ohh". Chris put his hand in fact of his mouth in mock shock. "why a book?". He asked.
"Ada helped him pick it out". Kate sipped her strawberry milk.
"Ada?". He pursed himself a class of water. "that the wife girlfriend?".
"yea". She nodded. "she'd teaching me how ta read". She said proud of herself.
"really?". Chris was taken a back by this. "why?".
"because she just is, and don't you have somewhere to be?". Eyeball didn't want to go in to all of their relationship stuff this early in the morning.
"how…. Serious are the two of you?". Chris generally wondered. 'I've never known Eyeball to bring any chick around to meet one of us. it's ain't like I care of nothing. But one of his flings actually teaching Kate how to read…. And the strange way he's been actin' lately. I don't think this… Ada…. Chick is just another hook up. I think there's something else happenin' with'em. I thought somthin' was off when he jumped out the window with her. there was no way Eyeball wouldn't want to gloat that he was havin' sex and I was still a virgin. He… much like all the other cobras loved to wave girls around in front of us younger boys….. because they all suck. The fact that Eyeball wasn't pullin' that shit this time….. meant something was new'.
"so serious that t's none of ya business". He got up from the table, he pecked Kate on the cheek one more time and said to her another happy birthday.
"are you goin' ta see Ada again". The little girl asked.
"yeah I'll be back later okay bug". He picked up his denim jacket and flung it around his shoulder.
"when will I see her again?".
"I don't know…".
She cut him off. "when you see her ask her when I can see her again. she said we was gonna start another book".
"kay I'll ask her".
"and ask her when your gonna be getting' married?".
"Kate…. If you don't bring it up again, it'll be the first thing I ask her alright". 'this kid will just not let it go will she?'.
"and ask her…".
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY". He shouted and ran out of the house. Knowing if he were to stay he's never get away from the chatterbox of a little girl'.
Chris stared after him. 'well I'll be'. He shook his head in pure surprise.
Flash back ends.
At some point they had both dozed off, with Ada cursed in to Eyeball side, and his arms around her.
It wasn't until Ada could feel something was off she awoke from her slumber and opened her green eyes.
At first everything was blurry, the only thing she could fully make out was the shape of her boyfriend.
She shifting make him too wake up. "nice sleep?". He asked with a grin.
"its always nice with you". she grinned back.
but just as he went to kiss her a throat was cleared.
Both teenagers, without missing a beat. Whipped their heads up to see Nora Bloom looking down at the pair on the bed. Cuddled in their embrace.
Ada felt her heart stop. 'ohh no'. she thought. 'no, no, no, no, no, no, no…. not like this. I can't lose him like this'.
The older women looked coldly at the two of them.
"my plans got cancelled".
