Chapter Eight
"Ew." The words came from, of course, Biana. "Why is this place so pollutiony and how is it famous? Again, ew, gross,"
"It used to be, um, not-pollutiony when this was a new city," Foster explained patiently. "It used to be a beautiful Roman province, until the volcano exploded in the year 79 AD. Then it became this, but instead of pollution, it was smoke and ash. Bodies and bones were buried everywhere; in fact, the human scientists are still finding bodies to this day." A collective shudder ran through the group.
"Well, that's cheerful!" said Keefe. "Now, who's ready to climb up that blisteringly hot, steep volcano in long-sleeved tunics and leggings?!" Nobody smiled. "Or we could just, you know, levitate." The idea was suspiciously welcomed, which was confusing. Why wouldn't you want to trek up a volcano that would probably burn you in almost full-body coverings with almost no water; there's no better way to burn fat…! Oh wait; that's probably it. Nevermind. Forget that WHOLE train of thought, Keefe.
They floated up the side of the volcano. Keefe braced himself for more hot-ness (partially contributed from yours truly) and lava. But he most definitely was not prepared to find a cool, refreshing…

Hi guys! You're probably SO MAD at me for making this chapter short again, but I PROMISE the next one will be longer. SWEAR. There will be another one after that, but then I'm not sure how many. There's also a surprise at the end of chapter ten for you! (Hints: Crossover. Toad-lady) Try and guess!
