Pendrick, Sam, Crabtree and Higgins finally made their way to the crime scene. It made a shiver go down Sam's spine being back. She hated going back to crime scenes. She normally let her father deal with that and she stayed at the station working everything out. Somehow this time was different.
"You sure you're okay with this?" Crabtree stopped her before they went into the building.
"I'm fine George. Now come on." Sam punched him in the arm.
Sam went first with Pendrick following just behind. Crabtree was next and Higgins stayed behind a little. He then heard a crash from behind him and ran to catch up with the others.
"Wait for me!" Higgins called after them.
"Keep up Henry!" Crabtree called back.
Sam kneeled down next to the site where Murdoch had been found. Luckily there hadn't been much blood to clear up. Pendrick watched every movement Sam made.
"Anything?" Pendrick asked her.
"Not yet. There must be something though." Sam kept looking.
Sam soon noticed something in the light coming through the building's roof. She crawled towards the thing to check it out. Crabtree caught up with the two.
"What's she found?" Crabtree asked.
"Don't know." Pendrick whispered.
"If you two have stopped whispering, could I have an evidence bag?" Sam stood up.
Crabtree passed her a bag. Sam then put something in it and walked back to join them. Crabtree soon noticed what it was but Pendrick took a little longer to come round.
"Something wrong James?" Sam asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Just wondering what it is exactly." Pendrick looked awkward.
Crabtree held back sniggers. Pendrick gave him a glare but turned back to Sam for an answer hopefully.
"It's shell casing. It'll be very useful." Sam snapped it into her bag.
"Hey guys." Higgins called.
"What is it Higgins?" Crabtree called frustrated.
"I think there's someone out there." Higgins pointed with his head out of the building.
The three of the group turned around. That was never good news! Crabtree went to join Higgins. Pendrick stayed behind a little with Sam tutting and walking to join the other two.
"So, you have to deal with this all day?" Pendrick kept the conversation going.
"Shush!" Sam told him to be quiet.
Crabtree and Higgins soon came back however. They had obviously not found anything or anyone.
"Nothing out there." Crabtree shrugged.
"You sure?" Pendrick asked, somewhat frightened.
"Scared Pendrick?" Crabtree puffed out his chest.
"Oh don't act like that!" Sam scoffed.
"Act like what?!" Crabtree and Pendrick said together.
Sam didn't answer and was obviously holding back laughter. Higgins was also somewhat quiet but Crabtree knew there was something else he was hiding.
"Let's keep going." Sam finally decided.
The three gentlemen followed the young Murdoch. Pendrick seemed to be the most nervous looking everywhere they stepped. Crabtree and Higgins made fun of him behind his back with picking up their feet even more than usual.
"Is that something?" Pendrick finally stopped.
Sam turned around as Pendrick bent down. Pendrick then jumped fifty foot in the air once he found out what it was.
"What's the matter with you?" Crabtree chuckled.
"It's blood!" Pendrick snapped.
"Whoever it was, was obviously injured then." Sam said.
"We need motive over anything else." Higgins backed her.
Sam tilted her head in agreement. Higgins was pleased that someone finally agreed with him. Then another crash came from behind them. Crabtree and Sam were the first to go and check out what the sound was.
"Do you think we should follow them?" Pendrick gulped.
Higgins rolled his eyes. He then ran to catch up with the others. Pendrick didn't really know what to do. He then knew he didn't want to stay on his own in this building. Pendrick soon met up with the others. All three of them had found somebody outside finally but it wasn't somebody they wanted to see.
"Myers!" Pendrick hissed under his breath.
There right in front of them was Myers again! The wound on his head didn't look too bad but it was noticeable. Luckily he wasn't surrounded by anyone else, as otherwise they might have a massive fight on their hands if hell broke loose.
"What do you want Myers?" Sam asked, sounding just like her father.
"Can't I investigate the same crime as you Samantha?" Myers said with his normal creepy smile.
"No you can't. It's a crime scene." Crabtree stood in front of Sam to protect her.
"And what if I was now involved in this case?"
The four gathered stared at each other. Not Myers! Anyone but Myers! Murdoch and Brakenreid wouldn't be pleased whatsoever. Even if they weren't there, their feelings were still very much shared.
"I can see that, that news isn't exactly loved." Myers sighed looking at the crowd in front of him.
"No it isn't." Sam walked on past him.
"What if I had news about the crime?" Myers stopped her.
Sam stopped in her tracks. Of course the only person that knew something about the crime was Myers. Sam turned back around to face Myers again. Sam crossed her arms and nodded her head slowly.
"Fine. You can stay." Sam tutted.
"I knew you'd come around sooner or later." Myers smiled once again.
"You can stop doing that." Sam told him.
Myers's smile soon went when Sam had said that. Crabtree patted Sam on the back as she walked past. A carriage pulled up next to the crowd. All of them recognised the writing on the side. Station House No.4. What now?
"Carriage for Miss Samantha Murdoch." The driver said.
"What?" Sam laughed.
"You're being called to the hospital." The driver said again.
"Why?"
The driver shrugged. Sam looked like she was going to fall over from being annoyed. She said her apologies to the others and got into the carriage.
"I'm coming with you." Crabtree said climbing in also.
"You don't have too." Sam tried to say.
"I'm not letting you go alone." Crabtree told her closing the carriage door. Sam usually didn't like anyone to come with her as she can go herself, but it was nice to have Crabtree with her.
"What's all that about?" Myers asked.
"None of your business." Higgins hissed.
Higgins soon got back to work. Pendrick stayed with Myers, making sure he didn't foil anything for the investigation.

Crabtree and Sam finally made it to the hospital and found a doctor waiting for them. Sam took off her gloves ready for anything he was going to throw at them. Crabtree wasn't as ready but knew it might not be good news so to keep himself ready for any.
"So what news?" Sam asked.
"Someone wants to see you." The doctor smiled.
Sam was a bit memersided when the doctor said this. She then looked into the room where her dad was staying. Even though he had his eyes closed both Sam and Crabtree knew he was awake.
"Can I go in?" Sam asked happily.
"Of course." The doctor let her in.
Sam turned back to Crabtree. He waved her away. He already knew what she was going to say. He stayed outside the room so she could have a few minutes with her dad. Just hoping he could back with Murdoch soon.
