The trip to the park was rather uneventful. We walked part of it and jogged the other part. She seemed to be able to keep up. But I imagined her shorter legs didn't help. Once we arrived, we noticed quite a lot of people were there. A few I even recognized from the graduation ceremony. We found a spot by some trees and took a seat for a minute.

As we sat, I made a realization. I had no idea what to do...I didn't have any other Pokémon to train with, and having her train with me may be a bad idea. I didn't even know what attacks she knew. This was not what I was expecting when I began my journey. I was so used to seeing levels and having a hard copy for moves, I never thought how it would work in real life.

"So Sienna..." I said kind of sheepishly, getting her attention. "What do you wanna do? I want us to spend time together, but I also want to get us comfortable together for battling, since there could be wild Pokémon anywhere once we leave the town. Do you want to try some moves, or maybe play something?" She looked up at me with a hint of confusion on her face. "Sorry, I guess I wasn't as prepared to be a trainer as I thought I was. No matter what, I just want us to be partners. I guess I'm just not sure what to do...I'm sorry" I said this as I lowered my head. If I didn't even know what to do to begin training, how could I expect to lead a team?

Sienna walked over and cuddled against me reassuringly. She smiled and yapped happily at me. While I couldn't tell what she was trying to say, it did make me feel better and more relaxed. She seemed happy with me, so I guess that's a start.

"Thanks." I said. I got up and walked a few steps away, Sienna following. "Ok, so how about we try and see what moves you know. If you are unsure or start to get tired, just let me know ok?" She nodded and adjusted her stance. "Ok Sienna, use Tackle on that tree!" I said. Sienna took off at a good pace and charged shoulder first into the trunk. She jumped back after the impact, landing on her feet. The tree had a mark where she struck it and it made quite a thud when she hit. "Ok, nice going. I bet you hit harder than me." She smiled as I said that.

"Hmm, what else?" I thought. I walked over and picked up a stone. "Ok Sienna, use Quick Attack to outrun me throwing this." She nodded as I reeled back and threw that rock as hard as I could. Her legs were nearly a blur as she took off, catching up to and passing the rock in just a moment's time. By the time the rock landed, she must have been at least thirty yards away. She jogged her way back to me, panting slightly. "Wow, I had no idea you could move so fast. That was incredible." She beamed an even bigger smile as I said that, and I noticed her make an effort to not pant.

"Ok, maybe some less physical moves. How about a Growl?" She nodded again and let loose a loud growl that I would have never imagined something so small could produce. It was so loud I had to plug my ears. I looked around as she finished and saw a few people around me looking at us. "Sorry everyone, first day and got a little carried away." I said as I waved apologetically. Most of them just turned back to what they were doing, some with a bit of a giggle or roll of their eyes. "Ok Sienna, maybe we shouldn't use that move in public." She looked at me worriedly. "It's ok, it's not your fault. That was my bad. Let's take a break and rest ok?" She smiled and nodded, walking back over to me visibly more tired than she wanted to let on. She curled up next to me as we sat underneath a tree and relaxed in the shade. Before we knew it, we both ended up falling asleep.
