Ugh this took so long! School and work have been keeping me more busy than I would like so I apologize that it's taken so long to upload this. Some things at the end of this are not going to make sense, but all will be explained in Chapter 10 dw ;)
Much love to you all!

Just speak. It's not that hard. Lena stood in front of Kara, gnawing on her bottom lip. A deadly silence hung in the air between the two of them.
Kara stared at her, trying to anticipate what the woman in front of her was trying to do. She pushed her glasses further up the bridge of her nose and opened her mouth, but Lena interrupted her.
"Let me speak first. Please."
Kara nodded reluctantly.
"From the moment I was adopted into the Luthor family they instilled in me that it was a weakness to trust; to love; to feel the emotions of a human being. That rule was, and much to my dismay, still is ingrained into me. I told you I didn't come to this city to make friends. But that was a lie. I came to this city to try and be the Luthor that cared. To try and put the world together instead of tearing it apart. The person I once was would have never allowed herself to feel such emotions for someone as I did, and still do for you. But once I lost you, I understood. I understood that I love you, and I would go to hell and back just to make you realize it. I won't be your enemy Kara. I can't." There was such softness in the way she said it, it made Kara shiver.
"I'm so-so sorry for everything I did to you and I understand if you can't forgive me. But I couldn't go on like this." Her lips trembled with every word; her stunning emerald eyes glistened with tears.
Kara's own eyes fought to hold back tears as she quickly closed the distance between them and threw her arms around Lena. Holding her tightly as if she might disappear any second.
"Of course, I forgive you Lena."
Lena's voice hitched as she cried happily into the blonde's shoulder. Barry was right. This was exactly what she needed.
Barry's vision was blurred as he tried to sit up but the throbbing in his head quickly prevented it. He could hear the tapping of glass from somewhere. No, not glass. Metal on metal. He winced and covered his ears.
"What the hell?" He mumbled.
"Ah Mr. Allen. You're awake." Came a familiar voice.
This time he found the strength to sit up. He turned his head to see Lex and Edgar standing over a table building something.
He leapt off the table anticipating his speed to kick in. But when it didn't his gut wrenched, and he vomited.
Lex looked at him with disgust. "Ah yes an unfortunate side-effect of mind control."
"My speed… why can't I use my speed?" He asked weakly while gripping his shirtless torso.
Lex glanced at Barry's chest and grinned wickedly. Barry followed his stare and felt like he was about to vomit again. In the center of his chest he could see the faint glow of a green lightning bolt.
His eyes snapped up to Lex's. "You put Kryptonite in me?"
"Brilliant isn't it?" Lex walked over to him. "But that's not the reason you can't use your speed. We gave you a small toxin that removes the speed force from your system. Temporarily replacing it with the negative speed force. It will take a few minutes to kick in."
"Actually, you should be feeling it right about…." Edgar rapidly typed on a keyboard then looked at Barry. "…Now."
A sharp pain erupted in Barry's chest as the green lightning bolt illuminated beneath his skin. A black liquid snaked through the veins in his body.
Barry screamed in agony, lightning flashing in his eyes. As soon as it started it was over. He then dropped to the floor with a loud thud.
"Did it work?" Lex carefully poked Barry with his foot then turned to look at Edgar when he felt a hand squeeze his throat. Barry stood in front of him with a dark look on his face.
"I don't know. Did it?" Red lightning encircled his body.
Lex let out a stifled laugh and looked to Edgar. "Excellent work. Now tell him to let me go."
"Hmm." He sauntered over to Barry then glared at Lex. "I don't think I will."
Lex choked. "Wha-what are-you doing?"
"You see, I've only kept you alive this long because I needed Kryptonite and you were the one with access."
"I-don't understand. Why?"
"You don't remember do you? The last name didn't ring any bells?"
"My sister was Maria Cizko. The girl that you used, against her will, to experiment on. Injected her with so many foreign toxins she died. Starting to sound familiar now?"
"We-we can talk about this…"
"I'm done talking. I'm sick of living in the shadows of those that believe they're better. I have created one of the most powerful weapons on the planet and not even Supergirl can stop me."
Lex grabbed at Barry's hands but to no avail.
"Once I kill you, I'll go after your sister and then your mother. I'll rid this whole damn world of the Luthor name and there will be no one to stop me. Goodbye Lex."
Before Lex could reply there was a snap and his head fell. Barry dropped the body and then turned to Edgar.
"What now?"
Edgar placed a black necklet into Barry's hand. "Put it on."
Barry slid it around his neck and Edgar grinned wickedly. Instead of seeing his regular red suit, Barry wore a black suit, the chest and headpiece an electrifying blue.
"The lightning bolt embedded in your chest changes the color of the original symbol when detecting Kryptonians. As will your lightning. But for now, I think it's time we introduce National City to its new hero."
"I don't smell any coff…" Lena opened the door to the apartment to find it empty. "Barry?"
Her voice was met only with silence.
Of course he had left me. I practically forced all my problems onto him. What did you expect Lena? You were fooled into thinking that a man actually cared about you.She slammed picked up the coffee cup from the counter and threw it at the patio door; the impact shattered both sliding glass doors. And for the first time in a long time, she let herself scream. And with that scream she let out all of her anguish, hatred, and misery.
Once she had expended all of her energy she inhaled, closed her eyes and before she was even aware of what was happening, words fell from her lips.
"In brightest day, in blackest night
No evil shall escape my sight.
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power...Green Lantern's Light."
Lena opened her eyes and gasped, falling backwards.
"What the hell was that?" She mumbled.
As if to answer her question, a knock came at her door.
Shit. Someone must have called the police after hearing me scream.
She stood up and collected herself before opening the door. Standing outside her door was a brown haired woman. Next to her was a man with shoulder length black hair, who looked like he was standing before God.
"Hi. I'm sorry to intrude like this. My name is Caitlin Snow and this is Cisco Ramon. We're Barry Allen's friends. Um-can we talk?"
