Part 10
After defeating Hades, a big celebration part was being hosted in front of Zeus' throne back on Ithaquack. A large table was set up, children were playing together, the adults were conversing with one another, socialising, eating and drinking together. Even Zeus was happily talking with his Greek followers, surprisingly tolerating Scrooge, Della and Donald's presence. Speaking of Scrooge he's eating free food and telling tales of hid adventures to some people, Poseidon and Hephaestus and they were all in awe as they enjoyed his amazing tales.
Elsewhere, Donald was alone, sat on the beach. His mage outfit minus the hate was still being worn as he sat with one knee out as he stared out into the water. At that moment Della steps up from behind.
Della: Hey, bro.
Donald happily turns to see his sister sit right next to him.
Donald: Oh! Hey sis.
Della: I haven't seen you at the party. What're you doing sat out here all alone?
Donald: I needed some time to myself…you know to clear my head and process everything that's happened. This has been one crazy adventure.
Della: Yeah…you said it bro, even for us. We got attacked by a snake-headed lady, a hot-tempered dark god king, a samurai eagle, an 8-headed dragon thing, a 3-headed dog and all sorts of monsters all in one.
Donald: Not to mention our little detour in the temple of heroes. An adventure filled with nothing but monsters and danger… I bet this kind of adventure was heaven for you.
The Duck Twins burst into laughter due to Della's love for fighting monsters no matter how huge they are so an adventure like this would be heaven for her.
Della: Yeah…it was pretty awesome. And you have to admit, bro, you had a fun today.
Donald: Donald smiles a little. Yeah, I guess this was sort of fun…it was nice working together again and being team like we used to, huh, Della?
Della: Yeah, you said it bro. It was awesome fighting together with you again. I almost forgot what it felt like. Della lightly punches his arm. Just like old times, am I right.
Donald: Yeah, you said it! I haven't felt this alive about adventure for a long time…not since I came back from the Quackmore Institute.
Della: Della saddens in guilt once more. Yeah…and I can understand why. Um…Donald…
Donald: He turns his head to his sister. Yeah, Della.
Della: Um…I just want you to know I truly am so sorry for how awful I've been to you for the past year. Both me and Uncle Scrooge; what we've been doing to you was so wrong beyond words… ignoring you… humiliating you… making you feel underappreciated. The last thing I ever wanted to do was making you feel like you weren't good enough. You're my brother, Donnie…you deserved better than what me and Scrooge have been doing to you for so long. I'm so sorry for abandoning you again, bro? Can you ever forgive me?
Donald: Donald just smiles kindly at Della. Della, its okay. There's no need to apologise anymore, of course I forgive you. You and Uncle Scrooge had been without me for so long…of course the two of you got closer together. I know you'd never intentionally want to hurt my feelings like that. Besides… Donald's face drops with guilt. I'm sorry too, sis…for the way I've been acting ever since we came to this island, all those terrible things I said back there and hurting you…again…
Della: It's Della's turn now to give a kind smile. It's alright, Don. You don't need to apologise either. After the way Scrooge and I forced you to fight that Hydra on your own I had it all coming. The things you said may have hurt…but they did open my eyes and made me realize how much I really want you with me and how badly Scrooge and I have been treating you. Della takes both of Donald's hand and they stand. Donnie, you have to understand how much what you and I have truly means to me and I promise I'll never let something like this get in between us again. That was what our Wayfinders represented, remember?
Donald: I can never forget that. I don't even ever want to forget that night.
The twins bring and hold out their respective Wayfinders to one another with warm smiles on their faces.
Donald: Do you remember that night we shared together after our adventure in El Dorado.
Della: Of course I remember. That was same night I made these star charms…to symbolise the unbreakable bond you and I share and how much we care for each other.
Donald: You got that right. He becomes teasing. It was one of your very few girly moments.
Della: Hey, watch it. I may love adventure and fighting monsters but I'm still a girl.
Donald: Sure you are. The both of them laugh once more. But on that day and night I realized how much I truly need you Della and how much you mean to me.
Della: I felt the exact same way. I meant what I said that day Donald. Our bond will never break no matter what kind of arguments we have.
Donald: Yeah, no matter what I say to you Della I can never stop myself from caring about you so much…one again they hold each other's hands. Because you're not just my sister…you're my best friend and you make up half of who I am.
Della: Aww! Donald, that's so sweet. And you still make up half of who I am too, bro. That's how much I care about you. Della saddens again. But listen, Donald, I know that the past year hasn't been that great for you, considering what you've had to put up with from me and Scrooge. If you don't want to come on any more adventures with us…I completely understand. I mean, you've been through so much after all…I don't want to force you to come on adventures with us if it's just going to make you upset.
Donald: Donald just rubs Della's face affectionately. Della, don't be stupid. Don't forget, that I've been dreaming of the two of us going on adventures like this ever since we were kids. Maybe I started resenting it but that's only because I wasn't able to experience it like you and Scrooge have.
Della: That was because we kept embarrassing you and forcing you to do those stunts that almost got you killed.
Donald: I know, but I still want to keep going on more adventures with you guys. We're family and that means more than anything to me in the world. Family sticks together. And to be honest, my main motivation for always going on those adventures with you guys was because I wanted to be there to protect you if you were in ever any big trouble or problem Della. And…I also wanted to find a way to impress you…so that I could be your hero again…like when we were kids.
Della: Della smiles, touched by Donald's words. Oh, Donald…you don't need to try so hard just to impress me. You were always my hero and you always will be. You were all that and more today.
Donald: Ya mean it? Really!?
Della: Absolutely. Ever since we were kids you've always looked out for me. I knew that whenever I needed you I could always count on you to be there to save me, just like what you've done for me today. You saved my life so many times today, Donald. And for that I want to thank you…from the bottom of my heart.
Donald: Hey, don't mention it. Of course I'd be there to save you Della and I always will. You mean the world to me.
Della: Thanks bro. And you know…I could use a good sparring partner to help me use this sword better. She summons Godslayer in her hand. Do you think you'd be interested from time to time?
Donald: Of course. I'd be happy to be your sparring partner, Della. Donald summons Save the Queen in his hand. I could use some help in using this thing. Plus it'd give me a chance to see how well I could kick your butt.
Della: Yeah, right! You wish!
Donald and Della laugh one more time before they both shoot each other warm looks.
Della: I want you to remember Donnie… that no matter what happens I have and will always love you.
Donald: I love you too…sis.
And with that the Duck Twins share a warm, loving brother-sister hug under the moonlight, taking enjoyment in each other's company. They separate after half a minute to warmly smile at one another.
Scrooge: So this is where you two were?
They turn to see Scrooge walking up to them with a smile.
Della: Oh, hey Uncle Scrooge.
Donald: What's up?
Scrooge: I felt the need to return something to you lad. I found this right next to you.
Donald: To Donald's delight Scrooge holds out his mage hat. Hey, my hat!
Della and Scrooge smile as Donald takes back his hat and the latter wraps an arm around him.
Scrooge: You showed some real grit and determination today, lad. I'm proud of you.
Donald: Thanks Uncle Scrooge.
Della: Say, Donald, what was up with that power-up against Hades with all the electricity, the blue eyes and blue feathers. Because I just want to say IT WAS AWESOME!
Donald: I have no idea. I guess…deep down I've always known how to do that. I absorbed everyone's energy and I found myself wanting to save you all, especially you two no matter what. I was then lost in my own mind and then all of a sudden this hidden power I didn't even know that I had exploded from within me.
Scrooge: You know…with all those mage powers you could do more than just help us on our adventures.
Della: Yeah, you could go around travelling other worlds, using those powers to help with their problems.
Donald: Donald looks at his hat in contemplation. What, me, become a world travelling mage? Like…some sort of superhero.
Della: Yeah, yeah! Exactly!
Donald: Well…I guess I could. I mean sure, I'm scrappy, I'm brave, I look good in this outfit and the hat.
Della: Mickey plans on doing it.
Donald: I am better than Mickey.
Scrooge: It's one thing to be a mage lad. And it's another thing to be a heroic multi-world mage. Do it for your father,
Donald's eyebrows raises upon the reference of his father, remembering the vision he had as he thought Hades.
Della: Yeah, I'm sure becoming a multi-world mage would've made dad really proud. Do it in honour of him bro.
Donald looks up with a smile of confidence but that soon drops.
Donald: I don't know you guys…I don't think I really have what it takes. I'm not my father.
Scrooge: No one's saying you have to be Quackmore, lad.
Della: Yeah, you're not Dad, you're even better.
Storkules: I wholeheartedly agree.
The three of them look to see Strokules and Selene approaching them.
Della: Storkules, Selene, what are you guys doing here?
Selene: We came to check up on you until we heard your whole conversation. Come on, Donald, you don't really believe you're not good enough, do you?
The God siblings join Della and Scrooge, standing in front of Donald giving encouraging smiles.
Selene: I mean, you pulled out one of the most powerful weapons ever in the universe and proved yourself worthy of it.
Della: You took on and single-handedly beat Hades, I mean sure we helped, but you did most of the fighting.
They're back in the area of Zeus throne; watch all the people celebrating and children playing.
Scrooge: And look at all those people you've saved today lad.
Donald looks at all the happy and laughing faces before his eyes, especially the children that are playing together. It was enough to bring a smile to his face.
Storkules: Were it not for your Heroic Donald we would not be here to celebrate and see such joyous faces. The people and gods are all indebted to you. You've earned the title: Mage of Thunder. If you are able to help here then I have the utmost confidence you could do good for many of the worlds that lie out of reach from our own. Save the Queen has chosen you for a reason Donald…it feels you have the power to help other worlds that are in need of you.
Selene: We know there are a lot of other worlds out there and some of those worlds are waiting for you to help them Donald.
Scrooge: You have amazing gifts lad. I have a feeling you were meant to use those gifts for more than just this world but something far greater. Helping other worlds sounds like a good opportunity to use those gifts you've been given to their fullest potential. Both you and Della have very special gifts. He looks to Della. Della, you have the ability to see all the angles and shortcuts of any situation and formulate the best plans possible. Even I don't have the wits to create your brilliant and orthodox plans. Della smiles at that. Scrooge then looks back to Donald. And Donald, you have the ability to withstand anything life has to throw at you. You've been suffering from continuous strokes of bad luck ever since you were a wee one but you never let that stop you or get you down lad. You've always kept getting back and whenever the time came you've always used that rage you store in your heart to protect your family just as you did for us today. And to top it all off, you're a mage for crying out loud.
Donald smiles as Scrooge wraps his arms around his nephew and niece.
Donald: Tougher than the toughies, Smarter than the smarties and Sharper than the sharpies. All three of us have those qualities.
Della: Yeah! You're right Donald! You're the tough one, Uncle Scrooge is the smart one and I'm the sharp one. The three of us are like a well-tuned machine.
Scrooge: Precisely, that's what makes us the greatest adventurers in the world.
Selene: I don't think that's the only thing that makes you guys awesome.
Storkules: I believe what truly makes you the greatest adventurers in the world are the fact that you are all family.
Donald: I can't believe I'm saying this…but Storkules is right. We're family…all the adventures the three of us have been on until now…we've fought through them as a family.
Della: Yeah, you're right bro! All those adventures we've had, we never would've survived them if we didn't have each other.
Scrooge: I couldn't agree more with either of you. Being a family is our greatest strength as adventurers. That's what makes the three of us the best adventuring family of all. He wraps his arms tighter around Donald and Della. And I have absolute faith if the both of you are able to apply your gifts to their fullest potential, you two could become better adventurers than me someday.
Della: Wow! Really!?
Donald: You really mean that Uncle Scrooge!?
Scrooge: I mean that from the bottom of my heart. The two of you are destined to be the greatest adventurers history has to offer.
Donald & Della: The twins are touched. Thanks, Uncle Scrooge.
Scrooge and Della join back with Storkules and Selene to happily face Donald.
Della: You see, Donnie. After hearing all this you can't deny wanting to help people from other worlds, can you. You've got more than what it takes and we'll do everything we can to support you.
Donald: Donald absorbs all these words and looks down and away in contemplation. I don't know…this whole things sounds so…dangerous…it's gonna be a lot tougher than what I've been used to so far.
Della: It may be dangerous. But hey, that's adventure for you. But no matter how tough it is you can't back down from it, just like how we never backed down no matter how strong Hades was. Ducks don't back down, right?
His very motto which always kept him fighting no matter how bad his struggles got is what made him lift his head up proudly and courageously. He turns to Della, Scrooge, Storkules and Selene with an accepting smile, before placing his hat back on, symbolising his desire to help other worlds.
Storkules: And always know this Best Friend Donald. You'll always have someone as your biggest admirer yet…Mage of Thunder.
Storkules holds up a vase, Donald smiles before getting out a pen and signs his name on the vase.
Donald: I wanna use my powers to make people happy. So I'll do it! I'll become the most powerful multi-world mage ever! Dad would've wanted it that way.
Della: Della proudly wraps an arm around Donald. Yeah! That's the spirit bro!
Selene: You'll do great, Donald!
Scrooge: Brilliant! And Donald…I have a bit of proposition for you.
Donald: A proposition? What is it Uncle Scrooge?
Scrooge: On all our adventures out of on sea I had always relied on the ships auto-pilot function to get us to our destinations since I could never find a proper sailor.
Donald: Go on…
Scrooge: Autopilot is great and all but today I realized that it's completely redundant compared to an actual sailor. Della told me about how you sailed through the storms and waves as you both made your way back to Lake Averno.
Della: You guys should've seen it! It was amazing! The storm attacked us from every corner and Donald just blasts right through it like it meant nothing to him! And he got us back in Lake Averno in record time!
Storkules: You truly are the sailor of the Seven Seas Noble Donald.
Donald chuckles a little as he sheepishly rubs his hand behind his head.
Scrooge: After realizing it was you who got us through the mystical storm earlier and hearing of your extraordinary feat in getting back to the Underworld the way you did, I realize that there's only one man I could ever want as my sailor.
Donald's eyes widen and glimmer, as though he was about to burst in joy since he knows what Scrooge is talking about.
Donald: Are you talking about…me?
Scrooge: Scrooge holds out Donald's license. I already have Della piloting the Cloudslayer. What do you say lad? Would you like to be the pilot of my boat? Autopilot is great and all but it's certainly no Donald Duck.
Donald takes his license back and looks at with widened eyes before almost tearfully looking back to his uncle who he tackles for a hug, much to the old man's surprise. Della, Storkules and Selene all smile at the touching scene and Donald pulls back in joy.
Donald: Aww! Your approval is the only license I'll ever need Uncle Scrooge!
Donald proceeds to tear his license in half until Scrooge stops him.
Scrooge: You should really hold onto the license.
Donald cries out tears of joy and lets them drip onto his license. Della wraps her arm around his brother again, while giving a gentle smile.
Della: Way to go bro. I knew you had it in you.
Scrooge pats Donald's back, the Mage of Thunder smiles gratefully at his sister and uncle before the three of them share a group family hug. Storkules and Selene are close to tears, the God of Strength quickly gets a tissue and blows on it.
Selene: I think it's safe to say this family is gonna be okay for a very long time.
Storkules: I couldn't agree with you more sister. Storkules and Selene step up behind the family and they look back. Ha, ha, ha! Come McDuck family, let us head back to the feast where our mother would like to hold a ceremony in your honour.
Della: Sounds fun!
Donald: She's certainly different from that jerk Zeus.
And so the family go back to the feast where they continue having a good time laughing with people, sharing their adventuring stories, eating and Della at one point spots Donald playing with a couple of kids which brought a smile to his face. Storkules holds up Donald in a massive bear hug again much to his charigin, Della and Selene play a humiliating prank on Zeus and Scrooge laughs at him. It was a joyous party and now Donald, Scrooge and Della are standing on platform in front of all the people cheering them and gods sat on thrones. Zeus is gruffly sat with his arms crossed. Hera is on the platform with them holding Greek Laurel Wreathes (one of which is gold).
Hera: On behalf of the people and gods of Olympus, Ithaquack and all of Greece I would like to bestow our gratitude upon these three heroes for going as the mortals say…"above and beyond" and saving us all from the tyranny of the foul and ruthless Hades.
Storkules: And the unkillable Gorgon.
Hera: And also the unkillable Gorgon. I would like to also present these wreathes to the following three heroes…
Just Hera turns to them Donald, Della and Scrooge courteously take off their hats and bow on one knee.
Hera: Scrooge McDuck. The Greatest Adventurer in the World!
Hera places a wreath on his head and the people erupt with cheers.
Scrooge: I'm honoured.
Hera: Della Duck. The Empress of the Skies!
Hera places a wreath on her head and the people cheer louder.
Della: Ooh! I like the sound of that title.
Hera: And Donald Duck. Mage of Thunder, Wielder of Save the Queen, Sailor of the Seven Seas and Hero of Ithaquack!
She places the gold wreath on his head and the people are now practically roaring with sounds of joy.
Donald: Thank you, your majesty.
Hera: No, no, it is us who should thank the three of you and of course my two precious children… Storkules and Selene wave. …For your selfless acts of heroism for our people. Now stand and raise your heads high.
The original adventuring trio do so and stare at the crowd of people who are cheering their name and Hera takes her seat as the Gods except for Zeus are clapping and giving their applause. Hera notices Zeus not giving his and nudges his shoulder, prompting him to reluctantly give his applause too. Then Hephaestus steps up to the platform.
Hephaestus: Thank you for your help heroes. And Donald Duck, you are more than welcome to hold onto the staff I have forged for you.
Donald: Are you sure?
Hephaestus: I most am. It has chosen you to wield it because you are worthy of its power. Use that power wisely.
Donald holds out his hand. He re-summons Save the Queen and takes a good look at it before smiling.
Donald: I can promise you that I will!
Donald holds up Save the Queen high and his sister and uncle step up next to him on both sides. Della resummons Godslayer. She and Scrooge spin their weapons before holding them up and joining them with Save the Queen. The adventuring trio smile as the people roar with cheers at this impressive group shot and Storkules is practically giddy with joy. Zeus is anything but happy right now.
Zeus: This isn't over…McDuck…
After getting some sleep the next morning Donald, Della and Scrooge are stood near their boat after personally saying goodbye to the Greek followers and gods, even Zeus. Storkules and Selene are seeing them off personally. Donald is now back to wearing his sailor outfit.
Selene: Aww, do you guys really have to go? It's really fun having you all here.
Della: We love it here too, Selene, but there's a lot more adventures and discoveries that are waiting to be found outside.
Donald: But we'll be glad to visit this place as much as we possibly can.
Scrooge: Aye. Ithaquack is the perfect vacationing spot for a family of adventurers like us.
Storkules: You are most welcome to come here anytime you would like.
Selene: That is until, Dad gets mad enough to actually banish you three from here.
Scrooge: Scrooge dismisses with a hand wave. Bah! I have my ways of dealing with egocentric maniacs like him. There's absolutely nothing to worry about.
Donald: Say, quick question. Hades is a God, so I haven't really killed, have I?
Storkules: Unfortunately, no Magnanimous Donald. Hades is immortal just like all gods, it stands to reason he has not died and all and is merely at rest for now.
Scrooge: That's no matter. If that hot-tempered heathen shows his ugly mug, we'll all take care of him together!
Selene walks over and bends down to Della.
Selene: Hold onto that sword, Della. I have a feeling it'll come very hand in future adventurers.
Della: You bet I will. Thanks for everything best friend.
Selene: Selene playfully finger guns at Della. Right back at ya best friend, it's been a real blast getting to know you.
Della: Same here! And hey, when Zeus isn't looking you should stop by our home sometimes. There's so much for you to see where we come from.
Selene: Sounds fun. And hey, when we get together I've got a list of pranks the both of us can play together.
She presents a long list that Della looks at mischievously an joyfully.
Della: Oh, ho, ho! Nice! Now I'm looking forward to our next meeting more than ever.
With that said the girls exchange smiles before sharing a hug.
Storkules has a hand placed on Donald's shoulder as they both smile.
Storkules: You may have thought your family doesn't care about you…but now you realize the truth, do you not?
Donald: Yeah, I finally realize how wrong I was. My uncle… my sister… they both really do care about me. I just didn't know it because I let myself be a prisoner to my own anger and bad luck. Thanks for everything Storkules.
Storkules: It was my honour Mage of Thunder Donald! I am glad to have befriended and fought alongside a kindred and most noble spirit such as yours
Donald: I can't believe I'm saying this…but me too…
Storkules: Continue to cherish and protecting your family. They will be needing your strength more than ever.
Donald: You bet I will. I'm sure the two of us will be seeing each other again…Friend Storkules.
Storkules gasps with pure joy and Donald steps, immediately regretting what he just said.
Storkules: HE CALLED ME HIS FRIEND! HE SAID IT BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! HA HA!
He brings Donald in for one last massive bear hug and despite Donald hating it he lets Storkules do so.
Storkules: THIS IS THE MOST GLORIOUS DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE! NOW WE WILL BE BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!
Donald: Oh boy…I'm already regretting this…
After saying their goodbyes the boat is sailing across the waters once more. Storkules and Selene wave goodbye from afar, as do the Greek followers from the cliffside.
This time Donald was at the wheel and he couldn't be any happier, sailing this boat across the seas. But it seems like the sailor-mage is deep in thought.
(Flashback)
Donald, Della and Scrooge are stood in a very large room with Hephaestus filled with ancient writings and 6 pillars, each having a larger version of the Infinity Stones floating above them. Donald, Della and Scrooge are in complete and utter awe.
Scrooge: Bless me bagpipes!
Della: Whoa! Look at this place!
Donald: It's huge! Where are we?
Hephaestus: This is the Chamber of Infinity.
Della: Why's it called that?
Donald: Donald points at the stone. Maybe it has something to do with those 6 stones flying around here.
Hephaestus: Those stones are merely illusions made by Selene and Hera's magic. They're the representations of the 6 Infinity Stones.
Donald, Della and Scrooge raise their eyes at those two words.
Scrooge: The Infinity Stones? I've never heard of them…and that's strange because I'm Scrooge McDuck.
Della: What are these Infinity Stones?
Hephaestus: Hephaestus turns around to face them seriously. …Only the most powerful, oldest and rarest artefacts in the entire cosmos. Each stone has power to control an essential aspect of our very universe. He motions to the correct stones. The aspects these stones control are Power, Space, Reality, Soul, Mind and Time.
Donald, Della and Scrooge take a peculiar interest in the Time Stone.
Donald: Hey, guys, that green stone over there. Does that look familiar to anyone?
Scrooge: I think I've seen that one somewhere before?
Della: Wait a minute, isn't that the same stone you and I found on El Dorado, Donald!
Donald: Yeah! You're right, Della! That's the same stone we found in that temple in El Dorado!
Scrooge: Aye! I remember that day! When the Gilded Man attacked and you both used that stone to save dozens of lives!
Hephaestus looks at them all in sheer surprise.
Hephaestus: You've already seen the Time Stone.
Donald: Della and I found it when we were kids.
Della: We were inside a dark, damp temple at the time. We'd been arguing for 6 months and then after making up we found this stone hidden in a chest.
Scrooge: Based on what we had seen it has the power to turn back time, thus saving people from death as they're put back in the exact position they were in before dying.
Donald: After that stuff in El Dorado we decided to store the stone in a safe place for safe-keepings.
Hephaestus: Then you've already found the first Infinity Stone. And with Save the Queen in your hands now, you're all in possession of two now.
Donald, Della & Scrooge: Wait, what?
Hephaestus steps up to the pedestal in the centre with a small circular hole in the middle of it.
Hephaestus: Mage of Thunder. Come here and place Save the Queen in this pedestal.
Donald exchanges confused glances with his family before shrugging and summoning Save the Queen to walk up and place the handle through the pedestal's small hole. The moment he did that Save the Queen glows and releases a bright shine that makes the trio quack/yelp. Donald steps back to his family and they shield their eyes from the blinding light ensuing before them. When they reopen their eyes they're shocked to see Save the Queen floating before them, split up into perfect pieces.
Della: Whoa! What just happened! The staff is in pieces! Talk about a jigsaw puzzle!
What really shocked them was when the gold heart decoration of the staff is disappears in sparkles of light to reveal the Mind Stone.
Scrooge: It cannae be…
Donald: Another Infinity Stone!?
Della: No way! It was inside the staff this whole time!?
Hephaestus: What the three of you are seeing right now is the Mind Stone.
The stone is covered by the reappearing heart and the staff is put back together before flying back into the hands of a shocked Donald who looks at his weapon.
Donald: What's an Infinity Stone doing inside this thing?
Hephaestus: When I forged this weapon I wanted to make it a true masterpiece, something that would make it unique and stand out from everything else I've ever made. And then it hit me. The Mind Stone has been on Ithaquack for centuries. With permission from Zeus I was able to forge this stone inside Save the Queen which truly made it complete. The Mind Stone gave this staff its own form of intelligence, a mind of its own.
Donald: So Save the Queen calling out to me and speaking in my mind…?
Della: The staff choosing and deciding Donald is its worthy wielder…?
Scrooge: And the way it flies back into Donald's had whenever he holds out his hand…?
Donald: All of that is because of the Mind Stone?
Hephaestus: That's right. Not only that, the Mind Stone also makes Save the Queen's magical capabilities unrivalled throughout the entire universe. These Infinity Stones are incredibly powerful and also dangerous. If one being were to gather all 6 stones the different possibilities would be infinite. Anything could happen.
The entire family is fear and awe.
Della: Whoa…and we have two of those stones…
Scrooge: We have the Time Stone and the Mind Stone.
Donald: But what about the other four?
Hephaestus: No one knows where the Infinity Stones are exactly located. They could be anywhere on this planet or even scattered throughout the virgin universe. No one, not even us gods have dared to look for them.
No one notices Scrooge take a peculiar look at the Soul Stone. He gets a little fearful at the sight of it for some reason.
Hephaestus: Donald, wielding Save the Queen is not just a massive honour. With this remarkable feat, you are now the protector of the Mind Stone. It is your job now to ensure that this stone does not fall into the wrong hands. In your hands it can be used for many good things but in the hands of darkness along with the other 5 stones I shudder to think what awful fate would fall upon us.
Donald: I'm…the protector of the Mind Stone?
Donald takes a long look at Save the Queen and Della and Scrooge gather around him, staring at the staff with him.
(End of Flashback)
Donald: The Infinity Stones…
Donald comically jumps scares when Della shouts from behind.
Della: Hey, bro-bro!
Donald: Donald turns. Hi, sis.
Della: So how does it feel to finally be sailing the seas like you were destined to.
Donald: Hmm, I don't really get the true feeling until I feel the wind in my face.
Della slyly pushes a button, opening the front window and Donald enjoys the wind whipping his face.
Donald: Now that's much better! This feels great. Sailing the seas and feeling the wind whipping…this is what I've been waiting for my entire life.
Della: That's exactly how I felt when Uncle Scrooge let me pilot his plane! I guess both of our dreams are coming true.
Donald: You said, Dell!
Della wraps an affectionate arm around Donald just as Scrooge approaches from the other side.
Scrooge: So, then lad, where do you want to sail off to?
Donald is taken. Scrooge wants him to pick their next destination.
Donald: You guys want me to choose our next adventure!?
Della: Of course we do. Uncle Scrooge and I have been picking the adventures so far, but now it's your turn.
Scrooge: Go on lad. This time we'll go where you want to go.
Donald smiles the looks of encouragement first Della and then Scrooge are giving him. He feels his heart melt before speaking.
Donald: Well…I have always wanted to go to the Caribbean's.
Scrooge: Scrooge epically points his cane. Then set a course for the glassy waters of the Caribbean!
Donald: Donald salutes. Yes sir!
He pushes a lever and pulls a rope, causing the chimney to puff out smoke and the boat speeds up. Donald raises his fist epically, followed by Della and Scrooge.
Donald: TO ADVNETURE!
Scrooge & Della: AYE/YEAH!
Scrooge: And you know, after a taking a good look at your hat I can see that it's rather…unique. Mind telling us how you got it and became a mage?
Donald: Really? You want to know?
Della: Yeah! Come on, Don, tell us! How did you become a mage!? How'd you learn to use magic!? This time you've got our full attention!
Donald smiles joyously and gratefully before pressing the auto-pilot button, putting his mage hat back on and the three of them sit together on some crates.
Scrooge: Go on lad, we're listening.
And this story comes to an end with Donald telling Scrooge and Della the whole story of him becoming a mage and it was quite fascinating to listen to.
Epilogue is next!
