After being kidnapped by Vilgax and then rescued by the plumbers Midoriya had to go through a debriefing at the plumbers and later questioning at the police.
He was then sent home and then told to stay there for the time being for his own safety.
While stuck at home and curious about the new version of the Omntirx, Midoriya started looking through his father's notes on the new aliens, also taking his own, using the information that the omnitrix is displaying for him. He doesn't want to transform since he doesn't know the sizes of his new transformations.
After taking notes on all the new aliens, he wonders what happened to his old selection and starts exploring the new omnitrix's features trying to find them. He finds out about the capture feature, the information assimilation feature and that the omnitrix's timer has been bypassed now being reliant on an energy amount, but he finds no information on his old aliens.
Over the next few days Midoriya takes it easy, watching videos, reading and lifting some weights to further train his human form, while he's stuck at home, it's about all he can do while being stuck at home.
While stuck at home the UA staff discuss how to properly move forward, deciding to implement a dorm system.
All Might and Aizawa go to the houses of the different students, asking them to accept the new proposal.
Still having a lot of houses to visit and running out of time, the two decide to split up.
At Izuku's home the doorbell rings.
"I'll get it!" Shouts Midoriya, running to the door, so he can move a bit and so his mother isn't disturbed.
He opens the door, seeing All Might standing there. With a combination of surprise and now nervousness in his tone he asks "A-All Might? What are you doing here?"
"Pardon me young Midoriya. I'm here to talk to your mother." explains All Might.
Inko approaches the door, asking "Who is it."
She stares at the entrance, spotting a skeleton looking man. It takes her a moment to put the pieces together, All mights skinny form being new to everyone and all. "Oh, it's All Might. Please come on inside. We're so honored." she finally manages to say.
"Thank you." Says All Might as he steps into the house.
All Might goes into the house and is invited to have some tea, which Inko prepares while he sits down on their table.
"You probably already know why I'm here." Says All Might, wanting to get directly to the point. "You received a notice that UA is moving our students to dormitories?"
Inko is against the idea, surprising both Midoriya and All Might. She expresses her concerns, explaining all the reasons why she doesn't want her son at UA anymore, as she feels it'll only put him in further danger.
"I understand your concerns Ma'am but I see great potential in Izuku. I just want to see him realize his full potential. I think that's something that's more easily accomplished at UA." All Might explains. "I will dedicate myself to see that your son, along with all the other students in my care stay safe and develop to be strong heroes."
"Mom, I don't think going to another school will change the amount of danger I'm in." Izuku says, with a tone of sadness, while looking at the omnitrix.
That sentence reminded Inko of a discussion she had with Izuku's father a couple days prior.
She's not totally convinced, but she does reluctantly agree to let Izuku move to the dormitories. She does warn All Might however that if the school is ever attacked again, for any reason, that she'd pull Izuku out.
Preparations to move to UA begin and a couple days later, having prepared all he'll need, Izuku heads back to UA, prepared to move.
Once he arrives he waits a bit for the rest of the Class to get there. Once everyone arrives Aizawa takes them to the Heights alliance building for Class 1A, once there he reminds his students about the provisional licenses. He then proceeds to scold most of them for having broken the rules, after finishing he then welcomes the students to their new home, actually guiding them through the building.
As they walk the students excitedly inspect their new living quarters excited about everything they find.
Aizawa shows the students which rooms belong to which students, tells them to unpack and informs them that training will begin the next day.
The students go to work, settling into their new living quarters.
After a couple hours, where everyone prepares their rooms, moving in, the students go to the common area to unwind a bit.
When the girls approach a competition over who's room is the coolest starts, one which Sato manages to win by bribing the judges.
Izuku then looks around, spotting that some students are leaving. He gives it little thought and goes back to his room, to finish up on some notes, before heading to bed.
The next day, in class Aizawa, yet again, reminds the students about the Provisional licensing exam. He informs them that they need to work on developing ultimate moves, while inviting other faculty members into the room.
Ectoplasm, Midnight and Cementos walk in, trying to clarify and expand on what Aizawa said. Since the concept is pretty abstract Aizawa orders the students to put on their hero costumes and head to gym gamma.
There the teachers explain further how the students are supposed to train and develop their ultimate moves.
The training begins, with most of the students starting the development immediately.
Midoriya thinks his situation over for a moment, mumbling to himself before approaching Aizawa.
"What is it?" Asks the teacher, curious as to what his pupil wants to say.
"Sorry to interrupt but I wanted to ask. Do we really have to develop ultimate moves?" Asks Midoriya, not knowing how he'd even develop one. "I have a lot of new transformations I haven't tried out. In fact all of those I can transform into right now are unknown to me. I have no idea how an ultimate move would even look like with the a... transformations I had before."
Aizawa sighs in exhaustion.
"An ultimate move is something to give you an edge in battle. Your versatility and skills can make you extremely unpredictable when facing an enemy, especially since you keep unlocking new forms. That's enough to give you an edge. Make sure you know how to use your new transformations for now, you can worry about ultimate moves or even possible combinations with the different forms once you are comfortable with them." Aizawa points out, guiding his student, while also thinking "Not to mention his quick thinking and adaptability which allows him to use the full potential of his quirk without much trouble."
"Right!" responds Izuku, heading to the practice area, to start training.
He asks Ectoplasm to make him some opponents, which the teacher does.
Midoriya then opens the Omnitrix, a different display appearing. A vertical hologram, resembling the one from the Omniverse TV show, showing the faces of many of the transformations, with the selected one appearing above the dial, showing the full body.
Izuku selects one at random and hits the device, transforming into his Cerebrocrustacean form, into Brainstorm.
Thus the training begins. For the rest of the day Midoriya practices many different transformations, testing out 6 of the 9 available forms. Learning how to properly handle them.
Bakugo has been glancing at him every now and then, annoyed at how Izuku seems to have leveled up again.
Both him and Aizawa notice that Izuku is no longer transforming for 10 minutes at a time. The time frame seems more unpredictable than before, but it seems that he transforms for longer usually.
"So all that transforming in the woods did pay off." Aizawa thinks, assuming Izuku's "quirk" is progressing naturally.
At the end of the training Class 1B shows up, claiming the gym for the rest of the day.
"Regarding your costume improvements. Once you figure out if anything needs to change.
Head to the development studio, get the experts to help you out and give suggestions." Says Aizawa as he leaves to his room, leaving the students to fend for themselves. Izuku starts walking to the main building, thinking his situation over.
All Might's words from the past echoing through his mind. "As for the costume, it's fine for now. Just know that one day You'll have to be your own hero. Forge your own identity away from those that have come before you. You can always pay homage yes, but it should still reflect yourself more."
"Hey Midoriya!" Shouts Uraraka, spotting him walking. "Are you heading to the development studio? I'll join you."
Izuku is suddenly taken back, to the second time he met Uraraka, as she did say something similar.
"Yeah I am." He says, stopping in his tracks, thus allowing the girl to catch up.
She runs a bit, catching up to him rather quickly.
"So what's up with the new transformations today?" Asks Uraraka. "You haven't used any of the old ones. It seems like you could make some cool ultimate combinations with them. Is there any reason you're only using the new ones?"
Midoriya is taken back by the question, quickly thinking of an excuse to explain it. He lifts his arm showing the omnitrix and says "When I was kidnapped the Villains broke my Om...Hero Watch. As I told you before it acts as a stabilizer for the energy inside of me. This new one interprets the energy differently."
"Oh, so that's it." She says, while Izuku thinks. "I feel kinda bad lying to her, but if I told the truth the government might take the Omnitrix from me, maybe not, but I can't really take the chance."
Silence invades the conversation for a moment as the two reach the main building.
"I've actually been meaning to ask you something Midoriya." She says, blushing slightly, while memories from camp fill her mind.
"What is it?" He asks.
"Your Jacket!" She says. "I think it's about time that I return it. I can give it back when we get to the dorms."
Izuku thinks about it for a moment, remembering all his experiences as a hero with that jacket. His mind gravitates to the 1 week internships for a moment, the one he did at the plumbers and he suddenly gets an idea.
"You can keep it if you want." He says after a moment of reflecting.
"Are you sure? It'll probably ruin your whole aesthetic if you don't have it." She responds.
"Don't worry about it. If you want you can keep it." He reassures her.
After a minute of walking they run into Iida and keep going until reaching the development studio, as they approach the door blows up.
They approach to check if everythings okay, finding out that it's just Hatsume, who accidentally blew up an invention.
The students then inform Power Loader of the upgrades they're looking for and they start development on the upgrades.
After everyone is done they head back to the dorms, with Izuku being left behind.
"And what were you looking for... Midoriya? Right?" Asks Powerloader, after both Iida and Uraraka left.
"I'm actually here to ask for a whole costume redesign." He informs. "I have some ideas for the design, but wanted to ask you all to develop it."
"Is something wrong with your costume right now?" Powerloader asks.
"Not really, but I think the current one doesn't really suit me too much and I'd like to add new features that might work in different situations." Midoriya explains, thinking over what his costume should add.
"You primarily fight by transforming into different forms right, so your costume isn't usually utilized." Powerloader comments, reflecting on the situation.
"My costume right now is mainly aesthetic, but since I'm sometimes forced to my human form because of my time limit, then I'd like the costume to be able to get me out of trouble if necessary." Izuku explains further.
"I see. Bring me the designs tomorrow. I'll make a bit of the preliminary work and send it to the agency. Since it's a whole new costume it'll likely take about 5 days to get ready." Powerloader answers.
"That sounds great." Answers Midoriya.
Midoriya continues training for the next few days, getting better acquainted with the new transformations he now has available.
During this time Uraraka ends up naming them. She calls Swampfire , Big Chill Icewing, Brainstorm Brainy, Spidermonkey Spidermonkey, Chromosome Crystal, Echo echo Reverb, Jefrey, I mean Jetray Laserray, Goop Acidic and Humungousaur Humungosaur.
Aside from furthering their training, costumes and Ultimate Moves Aizawa and the other faculty members prepare other exercises to prepare the students for the actual exams, such as rescuing a civilian in a damaged underground mall.
During this time Izuku dropped the specifications for his new costume at the development studio. They were quite complex ideas, so it took a bit longer to prepare it.
Two days before the exam Izuku finally got to test the new suit. It's a suit that is meant to look a lot like the plumber uniforms, combining the uniforms of different generations, adding his color scheme to it. The suit has another mode to it however, that adds a special helmet to Izuku, so he can breathe both underwater and in space. It's made to be able to sustain different levels of pressure, while also providing oxygen if he so needs it. It also has a couple pouches that contain first aid equipment.
Before they knew it, the exam day was upon them. The students got on the bus, heading to Takoba National Stadium, the place where the Provisional Licensing exam will take place.
Aizawa sees how nervous some of his students are, so he gives a small speech to pump them up.
The Class chants the usual "Plus Ultra", which is infiltrated by Inasa, a student from another school. The members of Class 1A meet different students from all over the country, before hedging to the changing room and putting on their hero costumes.
The students of Class 1A then head to the waiting area.
Once everyone arrives there Mera, the sleepy man from the Public safety commission who's in charge of the event, starts explaining the first exercise. After he explains how to pass to the next round in detail he informs the students that only the first 100 out of the 1540 participants to finish will actually pass to the second round.
"I'm sure each of you have different terrains you like or want to avoid. Use your quirks well and do your best, or not, whatever." Says Mera, as the walls of the room fall down, releasing the students.
Midoriya thinks the situation over, taking all the elements into account.
"Everyone. Stay close together. We'll fight them as a group." He suggests. Most students agree to that plan, knowing that Midoriya most likely carefully thought the situation over.
There are some who decide to go off on their own, those being Bakugo, who is followed by Kaminari and Kirishima and Todoroki.
The rest of the class sticks together running into the battlefield to get a good position to start out from.
As they run Midoriya explains why they need to stick together, explaining that they're actually at a disadvantage because everyone knows their power sets.
"Of course no one knows about all that I can do, thanks to my ever changing roster." He thinks to himself.
The exam begins and the situation that Midoriya Predicted comes to pass. The crushing of UA begins.
The other schools take full advantage of their knowledge and decide to target class 1A.
As soon as the balls start heading their way Midoriya transforms into Swampfire, the pins actually still appearing in that form.
He grabs a couple seeds and throws them creating a wall behind the class to block incoming attacks.
After a couple moments of defending, the students of the other schools realize they aren't getting anywhere, so Shindo, from Ketsubutsu Academy, decides to use his earthquake quirk to scatter all their opponents.
Midoriya manages to see the attack unfold before him and roots himself in the ground, trying to grab anyone around him.
Those closest to him are Uraraka, Ashido, Koda and Tokoyami, so that's who he grabs onto.
When the dust settles from the attack, the group of students that Midoriya grab step out, looking around them at the now terraformed battlefield.
No danger around them Midoriya hits the omnitrix, turning back into his human form.
"So, what now?" Asks Ashido.
"I'm not sure." Answers Midoriya, worrying some of his companions. "The other schools have more experience than us and know how to handle themselves in battle. We're behind by at least a year's worth of training. But at least we're in a group, so we should be able to fight them off and pass the exam, we just have to trust that our other classmates can do the same."
"Well we're only together thanks to you, so I'd say that was a pretty good move." Says Uraraka.
"Yes, thanks to his quick thinking we actually managed to stick together." Adds Tokoyami.
"But what do we do now?" Asks Ashido, reiterating her question, since it wasn't answered.
"We have two options. First we go looking for our classmates or make a signal of some kind." Midoriya starts.
"But that might put us in the open and maybe attract enemies." Retorts Tokoyami.
"The second option is standing our ground. We prepare a trap or a strategy to attract a group of students and take them down once we have them pinned." Midoriya continues.
"But how are we supposed to find our opponents without giving ourselves away?" Asks Ashido, while Koda nods to her question, as if he were thinking the same thing, but is too shy to say anything.
Midoriya puts his hand to his chin and starts muttering a bit. After a few moments Uraraka snaps him out of it.
"Sorry." He apologizes, for losing track before getting back into the explanation. "It's true that we have none of the recognizance based classmates with us, but we can use Koda's ability to communicate with animals to scout from above. To add to that Tokoyami can search the area using dark shadow for a few moments and I can turn into what did Uraraka call him again? Icewing. To scout areas. Since the ladder is easy to detect I think Kota should use his quirk and we should adapt to the situation accordingly."
Koda nods and proceeds to use his quirk to summon the animals.
As he does a girl looks on from a distance.
"Aw, I was hoping to get him alone after that huge earthquake, but I guess that's not in the cards. Maybe in the next part of the exam, but for that I need to pass on of course. Time to find some other prey." She says to herself as she moves on, hiding from the birds in the process.
As the birds fly away a web sprouts out from the ground. Midoriya reacts, turning into Big Chill, phasing through the web.
"It looks like our search has come to an end." Tokoyami notes.
"Yeah. " Midoriya agrees, while coming out of the ground.
"That's assuming you can even take us down." Says one of the students of Ketsubutsu Academy, throwing a ball at Midoriya while using his lock on quirk. Izuku just goes intangible, the balls going through him, surprising the opponent.
"I thought the intangible one was the freaky ghost." Notes their opponent.
"You made a mistake underestimating us." Comments Midoriya. Breathing out towards the students, using the freeze breath to lock them all in place.
Most opponents are thus taken care of but there are two that break through the Ice. Tokoyami proceeds to sends dark shadow to keep them busy, while MIdoriya turns into Spider-Monkey and webbs them in place.
After all the enemies are taken care of Midoriya to preserve power returns to his human form.
"They are all down. And there's enough for each of us, with two to spare. So let's eliminate and pass the exam." Midoriya says, after having taken down the 12 opponents.
The class nods and so they proceed to go to eliminate them.
Some of the trapped students start complaining, Midoriya apologizes and continues eliminating them, until there are only 2 left.
"Hey wait, you can't just leave us like this!" Complains one of the eliminated students. "We'll get frostbite."
"Oh yeah, sorry." Says Midoriya, hitting the omnitrix. He turns into Swampfire and ignites the methane in his hands to burn the ice. The group deliberately left those who are webbed up untouched for someone else.
After everyone is freed, Midoriya and company head back to the waiting area, having been numbers 35-40 to finish the exercise.
"Well I guess I'm not gonna get a better opportunity than this." Says the girl, who's been watching Midoriya and company.
The first round continues for a while longer, during which time the students of class 1A all rage their unique battles managing to pass to the second round, none of them are left behind.
After all 100 students pass the exam, the preparations for the next round are set in motion.
The city and terrain they were just fighting in is then destroyed in front of their eyes, causing a big impact on those watching, reminding many of Kamino.
The second round, along with it's backstory, is then explained to those who passed the first test.
The building opens up yet again and the contestants set off to save the bystanders stuck in the destroyed terrain.
As Midoriya runs along with his classmates he's looking at the possible transformations.
"Who should I go with?" He wonders to himself. "Laserray would be a good option. but I think numbers over speed is likely the best idea here. After all, having more than 100 people looking for the civilians is better than just 100 right?"
He hits the omnitrix, emerging out of the resulting flash as Echo Echo.
"I also don't have to worry about durability in this scenario since there aren't any villains around." He thinks while splitting up as much as he can.
I can only do about 60 without overexhaustion the energy I have left.
"This should let me maintain it for about 15 minutes. If I go too far over I might run out of power." He keeps thinking.
For most of the second round Midoriya proves invaluable as he sends himself around the whole stadium, covering as much ground as possible. His first priority is helping the people who are the least injured and guiding them to the safezone that the heroes set up. Then he helps other students out, using his powers to locate the bystanders that are stuck under rubble and carrying the injured to the safezone, using Yaoyorozu's help, who made stretchers to move the injured, aside from others who actually helped the injured move around.
By the time the Villains attack more than half the civilians have actually been rescued.
At that point Midoriya shifts his attention. He leaves around 10 copies to keep searching with others for civilians, while 30 are meant to relocate the injured to a safer area and 20 are put in the defensive perimeter.
Todoroki and Inasa try to fight Gang Orca on the front lines, but end up being almost taken down. Midoriya jumps into the fray with 8 of his clones creating a sonic barrier to incapacitate the villain temporarily while he talks to the two students.
"Snap out of it! You need to work together with everyone here in order to defend the people. That's our main job as heroes, if you can't understand that, then maybe you aren't fit to be one." Midoriya says to both Inasa and Todoroki at the same time.
At that moment Gang Orca overcomes the sonic barrier, long enough to destroy the echo echoes causing it.
"I didn't expect them to break so easily." He comments to himself.
As he walks towards them Inasa and Todoroki look at eachother, nodding.
Todoroki shoots Ice at the Villain, freezing his feet for a moment, he then switches to his fire., shooting the blast at gang orca. Inasa then uses his wind to strengthen the flames and send them around the Villain.
Moments later before Gang Orca can break out of the flame tornade the exercise ends. The last civilian being rescued.
"That was quick." Thinks Gang Orca. "We showed up 5 minutes after the exam started and we've been here for less than 9 minutes." Midoriya then transforms back to his human self, all echo echo's fusing on his location.
"Still had about a minute to spare." He thinks to himself, exhausted from the events of the day.
The students then head to the changing room, changing back to their school uniforms.
Those who passed are shown on screen. Of UA, the only ones who failed are Bakugo and Todoroki, although in this version of events Todoroki was only 1 point away from passing.
The scores are passed around. Midoriya looks surprised at his score.
"What? I only got 63 points?" He exclaims.
"Only 63, that has to be a mistake." Comments Uraraka, looking behind his shoulder. "I mean I scored 75 and did way less than you."
"True, but the point system is on a deduction system and we can't get any points, that means all our mistakes are permanent. I may have done a lot, but being all over the place also hurt me, as I made more mistakes." He comments, thinking on the 60 versions of the memories he had. It was hard to keep it all straight, but he did remember a couple mistakes.
"Wait, you also got deducted 5 points, just for making it hard to score you." Uraraka comments, looking his paper over.
"Makes sense. I probably had my examiner going crazy trying to keep up with all that I was doing. He probably didn't notice a bunch of other mistakes, so they just deducted 5 points. I was lucky to pass." He says in a defeated tone.
"Still you passed, so that's a plus. Not to mention that without you many of us wouldn't have passed either." Comments Uraraka, trying to lift her friend's spirits.
All the students who passed receive their provisional licenses, heading back home afterwards. Midoriya, smiles over his license sending a picture to his mother, father and even Ben, before heading back to the dorms.
