Chapter 12
Venus
"Alright Guardians, we have arrived at Venus." The Ghost said as he landed the ship. Venus was a jungle or forest-like place.
"So what kind of Aliens are here?" Connie asked
"Vex and Fallen" the Ghost answered.
"
"Get on your sparrows and head that way" the Ghost ordered.
The Gems summoned their sparrows and rode away.
"Mine is the fastest Steven!" Amethyst said, trying to have some fun along the way. Steven and Ruby speeded up and tried to compete with her. Connie, Pearl, and Sapphire were in the back. Suddenly they saw some Fallen up ahead. *pew pew pew*
"I have an idea" Amethyst said. When they reached the Fallen, Amethyst crashed into one of them, destroying it, and continued to ride.
"Great idea!" Steven said as he and Ruby crashed into a few more Fallen.
Connie pulled out one of her pistols and fired at the Fallen ahead of her. *bang bang bang*
Suddenly some other kind of sparrows came out and followed Steven and Amethyst. Theses sparrows were bigger, and had Fallen on them. *bang bang bang bang* they fired at Steven.
While dodging the Fallen ahead of him, Steven aimed his pistol at the Fallen on sparrows behind him. *bang bang bang*
It was hard to hit them, as they were moving fast too.
Suddenly something from the the cliff ahead of him flew off. It was Connie on her sparrow! *crash* Connie hit one of the Fallen on it's sparrow before she landed.
"Take this Fallen" Pearl caught up she threw one of her knives onto a Fallen and it's sparrow. *zap*
Suddenly two Fallen sparrows were next to Connie.
"Watch out Connie!" Sapphire yelled. The Fallen were trying to block Connie from moving so she would crash into a boulder up ahead. Connie looked at a Fallen sparrow riding next to her. She tried bumping into one with her sparrow but it wasn't enough to make it move much. She tried again but this time grabbed onto the Fallen sparrow. She climbed on and pushed the Fallen off it's sparrow.
"Haha!" Connie was riding a Fallen sparrow. *boom* Her old sparrow crashed. Connie speeded up to catch up with the Steven. *pew pew pew* Connie used the guns on her new sparrow to take out any Fallen blocking her way. *bang bang* Pearl shot the last Fallen chasing Connie.
Ruby, Amethyst, and Steven arrived at the coordinates they had been sent to. They turned around and looked for Connie, Pearl, and Sapphire, waiting for them to arrive. They could hear what sounded like a Fallen sparrow coming.
"Get ready" Ruby said.
Amethyst got out her sniper rifle to fire at the Fallen before it got close. "I see it" she said. But she noticed something different about it. "Wait, that's not Fallen, that's Connie! She stole one of their sparrows."
"Awesome" Steven said. Pearl, Connie, and Sapphire finally arrived.
"Alright so where is this Vex GateLord?" Sapphire asked.
"This way" the Ghost said. In this area the Gems noticed that all the puddles and ponds were full of orange water. Alot of the the buildings looked the same.
"The structures here look alot like the ones I saw on Mercury" Connie said
"Yep, the Vex changed alot of Venus. They attempted to do the same to Mars but we stopped them." The Ghost said
They noticed these ring objects that were often on walls.
"What are those things?" Steven asked
"That is a Vex portal. If you see it turn blue, shoot it and destroy it so no Vex will come out." The Ghost advised
The Gems approached what looked like a giant Vex portal.
"I'm guessing that's where the Gatelord will come from." Amethyst said
"It looks like some are already here" Connie said and pointed to some Vex coming towards them. *pew pew pew*
The Gems returned fire and hid behind a few boulders nearby.
"Remember, aim for the white part of their chest" the Ghost said
*boom boom* Pearl sniped out two Vex. Two taller Vex walked toward them.
Steven and Ruby jumped out and punched them. "Take this"! Titans loved punching things.
"Alright. See that circle on the ground? Stand in there" the Ghost ordered. "That should summon the Vex GateLord."
The Gems went to some circle on the ground near the gate. When they stood inside, some blue light came up out of the ring. It looked similar to a active Vex gate. Then the blue light around them stopped and receded but it wasn't over. The big Vex gate ahead of them turned blue.
"Whoa" Steven said as alot of Vex came out of the gate. Two more strange Vex appeared on the sides of the gate. All the Vex began firing at them. *pew pew pew pew* nonstop.
"This is where the fun begins" Ruby said
Connie remembered she still had the Fallen speeder nearby. She ran over to it as the other Gems fought the Vex. Steven and Ruby punched any Vex that got near as Sapphire threw a storm grenade *zap zap*
The two Vex in the sides of the gate fired at Pearl and Connie. Pearl's sniper rifle was low on ammo but she remembered that she still had her gem weapon. A spear she could summon. She pulled one out of her gem and threw it at the Vex. *crack* The Vex was hit in the eye. Some purple light came out of it until it exploded.
"Nice one Pearl" Sapphire said. More Vex came out of the portal. Some of them were bigger. Connie speeded towards the Vex and fired away *bang bang bang* Connie did her best to dodge their shots, while destroying many of them. Suddenly two strange Vex came out. They each hovered above the ground and had two shields that rotated around them.
"What are those?" Amethyst asked
Her Ghost replied "those are Vex Hydras." The two shields on the Vex rotated around it.
"When a gap in the shield is facing you, that's when you fire at it" the Ghost explained.
"Alright" Amethyst replied. Amethyst and Sapphire stayed out of site of one of the Hydras. When the gap in the shield was facing them Amethyst said "now!" They fired away. Sapphire used her fusion rifle while Amethyst got her grenade launcher. *Chk boom* A grenade was launched at the Vex. The Hydra turned towards them *boom boom* Sapphire and Amethyst ducked, trying to evade the Hydra.
*pew pew pew pew* Something was shooting the Hydra until there was a bunch of cracks on it.
"Take this Vex" Connie said. She had been using her Fallen sparrow to fight.
"Get back!" The Ghost said. Only a few seconds later the Hydra exploded.
"Nice work. One more to go" the Ghost said
Connie had a plan "I think my Fallen sparrow has taken a beating, but I have an idea. Amethyst, you go around the right side of the Hydra while Pearl goes around the left. Sapphire and Steven you take out any other Vex."
Amethyst and Pearl went their ways, while trying to avoid fire from the Hydra. Connie waited for the gap in the shield to be open in her direction. As soon as it was she quickly rode towards the Hydra, and jumped of before she hit it. Using her Warlock jump, she glided over the Hydra and dropped a solar grenade on her sparrow. *boom...Boom!* her grenade and sparrow exploded, destroying the Hydra.
"Nice. I think the GateLord is about to come. We should get back" the Ghost informed them.
A bunch of normal Vex came out until everyone saw a big one start to come through.
"It's the GateLord!" The Ghost said
"That's a big Vex!" Amethyst said
*boom boom boom* The GateLord's shots were much bigger than any other Vex the Gems had faced.
"Ruby watch out!" Sapphire said. The Vex GateLord fired at Ruby. *boom boom*
"Ahh!" Ruby cried. Sapphire and Pearl ran to Ruby.
"She's down, I'll revive her" the Ghost said. "Cover me"
"Amethyst and Steven, come over here!" Connie said. She activated her Warlock rift ability. The area around her glowed red/orange (because she's a solar subclass) . "Stand in here and your power will be boosted"
Steven and Amethyst stood in the rift and fired away. The three of them unleashed their power on the Vex. Amethyst activating her Nightstalker ability, summoning a void bow and arrow. Steven activated his Sentinel shield, to protect Amethyst and Connie. When Ruby was back up, she and Sapphire tried to distract the GateLord, from going to Steven, Connie, and Amethyst. Pearl activated her Arcstrider ability, and summoned an electric staff. She fought off the the smaller Vex, so the other Gems could focus on the GateLord.
The Gatelord tried to stomp on Pearl and Amethyst a few times but just barely missed.
Connie suddenly had flaming wings and a flaming sword. She had activated her Dawnblade ability. *cling!* Connie used her sword to throw flames at the GateLord. Amethyst used her void arrows to stun it.
More Vex came out of the the portal but that wasn't going to be a problem. Steven threw his Sentinel sheild and fought like Captain America. *wack wack* he wrecked the Vex.
Finally Ruby and Sapphire activated their abilities. Ruby summoned a flaming hammer, and Sapphire became a Stormcaller and electrocuted the Vex. Ruby threw her flaming hammers at one of the GateLord's legs while Sapphire electrocuted it. Connie's Dawnblade ability was almost over so she flew to the middle of the GateLord and stabbed it with her sword. The GateLord began to glow and had more cracks in it.
"I'll catch you" Steven said and used his Titan jet to fly and catch Connie
"Thanks Steven." She said "but we have to get away before the GateLord explodes!" The GateLord aimed it's cannon at the Gems. *chk boom chk boom* it fired away.
"Ahh!" Amethyst had been hit.
"I'll save her!" Pearl said. She ran to Amethyst but then turned around and threw her Arcstrider staff at the GateLord's chest. *zap... boom*
The center exploded, and peices of Gatelord fell everywhere.
"Well that was fun" Steven said.
The Ghost finished reviving Amethyst
"Well, now we just gotta take what remains of the GateLord's head to Uldren and Mara Sov, in the Reef." The Ghost said. "You guys really know how to work as a team"
"Do you think Uldren will be surprised?" Ruby asked.
"Very" the Ghost replied.
"Now we know how to really work as a team" Steven said gladly
The gems traveld back to their ship and headed to the Reef.
