It had been a week since Diamond and Jamari had moved in the Caesar. So far, Caesar had no complaints about them living with them. Diamond cleaned, cooked, and was actively out apartment hunting. Then there was Jamari. They both had a mutual love for soccer, so they always played when Caesar got off work. It was kind of like they were a family, except for the marriage and the romance part. Then again, you didn't need all that to be considered family.

Caesar and Diamond were at the park with Jamari. Jazmine and Cindy were supposed to be bringing their kids over for a playdate. His mother was supposed to stop by as well. Telling his parents about Jamari went better than he expected it to. His mom was ecstatic about becoming a grandma. His pops on the other hand, not so much. "Michael, Lawd Gawd! How could you go out to make me a granddaddy!?" His father said in his Jamaican accent. Though after meeting Jamari for the first time, he finally accepted being a grandfather.

"Hey, Daddy!" Jamari ran up to him with his soccer ball. "You know what time it is!"

"That's right my boy!" Caesar laughed. He got up from his seat. Jamari kicked the ball towards Caesar. Caesar used his heel to catch the ball. "You know, for a three-year-old, you have a pretty good kick." He then kicked it back to Jamari. The two spent the next few minutes kicking the ball to each other until Diamond walked up to them.

"You know, Jamari, Mommy used to play soccer too. Think I can take on your daddy?"

"Oh, you think you can take ME on?" Caesar bluffed.

"I think I can!" Diamond exclaimed. She then threw her hair up in a ponytail.

"Okay, Shawty." Caesar tossed the ball to her. "You start."

Diamond gave him a smirk before running in the opposite direction. Caesar was quick on his feet and immediately started chasing her. He tried to steal the ball from her, but she had a pretty good defense up. She was way too smart for him. She was also sassy, beautiful, athletic, and competitive. That was what made him so attracted to her in the beginning. Wait, why was he thinking about that stuff? Caesar had moved on. He was with the girl of his dreams, which was Jazmine.

"GOAL! TAKE THAT SUCKAH!" Diamond's New York accent came out. She playfully shoved him.

"Okay, my head wasn't in the game there."

"…Well get in the game TROY BOLTON!"

"He played basketball, not soccer!"

"The saying still applies! Now let's go!" She kicked the ball to him. He gave her a devious smirk before running off with the ball. Diamond sprinted to catch up to him. She tried to steal the ball back from him, but he was good at protecting it. She then got an idea. Diamond quickly swift her feet under his, causing Caesar to trip.

"YOU TRIPPED ME!" He yelled. Diamond stuck her tongue out in response. Caesar started to clutch his ankle in pain. "God, this hurts! I think I twisted my ankle!"

"Oh shit, Michael!" Diamond quickly rushed to his aid. "Are you okay? I am SO sorry!"

Caesar smirked, quickly pulling her down to the ground with him. "SIKE!"

"What the hell, you made really think I hurt you!" Diamond laughed. She then proceeded to put him in a headlock. Caesar managed to slide out of the headlock and wrestled her to the ground. He ended up pinning her down to the ground. The two started to laugh until they were met with a terrible…

"Ahem."

The two looked up to see Cindy, Jazmine, and Mrs. Caesar staring at them. Cindy looked like she wanted to kill Caesar. His mother just looked mortified. Jazmine had a conflicted look on her face.

"Son, are you really trying to give me another grandchild at the park?" Mrs. Caesar joked. Diamond and Caesar quickly got up from the ground.

"We weren't doing that, mama!" Caesar whisper yelled. He then turned to Jazmine. "Hi, baby."

"Hello," Jazmine replied with a passive-aggressive tone. Well, he was now in the dog house. If she was mad at him now, then he was going to be pissed when he told her that he wasn't spending Christmas with her this year.

"Um, Cindy!" Diamond cheered, trying to clear the tension. "Hey, girl! No time no see! Oh, and hello Mrs. Caesar, looking fabulous as always."

"Hi, honey." Mrs. Caesar smiled at her.

"Hey Diamond!" Cindy greeted, going along with it.

"Aw, is this your little girl?" Diamond asked. Baby Chanel was sitting in her stroller. "She is so precious!"

"She is, and thank you."

Diamond turned to Justin. "No way…this isn't the same baby you were pregnant with a senior year?"

"He sure is." Cindy smiled, kissing Justin on the head. "This is Justin Escobar Freeman. Also known as Riley 2.0."

"See, I told you he was gonna turn out like his daddy." Diamond laughed. She then turned to Lela. "I take it this is your little girl, Jazmine?"

"Yes, say hi Lela." Jazmine instructed.

"Hi," Lela said shyly, clinging to Jazmine's leg.

"Aw, Hi Lela. Now, this is my son, Jamari." She looked at her son. "Can you say hi, Jamari?"

"…Hi." He said. Though he could not take his eyes of Lela. Thank god her daddy was not here to witness this.

"Alright kids, go off and play. It's time for the mommies to sit and have some girl talk." Cindy laughed. The three kids ran off to go play on the playground. Cindy and Jazmine sat at a nearby picnic table. Mrs. Caesar looked at her son dead in the eye. Caesar knew that when his mom looked at him like that, she wanted to talk to him. He sighed and took his mom away so they could talk in private.

"Have you told Jazmine that you aren't spending Christmas with her?" His mother asked.

"Not yet, mama, I was going to tell her today."

"Oh Michael." His mother sighed. "She's going to be crushed."

"I know." He groaned. "This is her favorite holiday, and it was supposed to be our first Christmas together as a couple. But, she will get her gift early this year. I got her this beautiful necklace and earrings to go with it."

"Oh? So you're not proposing to her anymore?"

"No…with Jamari and Diamond back…now would not be a great time." Caesar sighed.

"Thank Jesus!" Mrs. Caesar sighed in relief.

"Mama!"

"I'm sorry baby. It's nothing against Jazmine. You know I love the girl, and I would be honored to have her as my daughter in law…just not right now!" His mother lectured. "You two are way too young to be thinking about marriage."

"Too young? C'mon mama…Riley is engaged and he's two years younger than I am!"

"That's different, they have two kids together!"

"So, if I had a kid with Jazmine, THEN you would be on board?"

"Boy, I will beat your ass if you get Jazmine pregnant." Mrs. Caesar growled. "I never said I wasn't on board; I just think it is a bad idea."

"That's the same thing- "

"Boy hush! What I'm trying to say is that I don't think it is a good idea, however; You're an adult now. So if you and Jazmine decide to get married, then I won't stop you…and I will embrace her with warm arms." Mrs. Caesar explained. "On another note, let's talk about Diamond. Are you sure you're over here?"

Caesar hesitated a little before answering. "Yes."

"…Why did you hesitate?"

"I didn't."

"Yes, you did!" Mrs. Caesar groaned. "Look, Diamond and Jazmine are both wonderful young ladies. I love them like they were my own daughters. So, I do not want you, my son, to hurt one of those girls. If you think that you may have feelings left over for Diamond, then you need to be honest with Jazmine. Or if you're positive that you want to spend the rest of your life with Jazmine, make that clear to Diamond."

Caesar sighed before nodding his head. "Yes, mama."

Caesar walked back over to the playground. Cindy and Jazmine sat at the picnic table chatting, while Diamond was chasing the kids around the playground. Caesar chuckled as she watched her. Diamond had always had that "big kid" like nature to her. She has this huge ball of energy that she always had to burn. That explained why she took on so many after school activities back in high school, like soccer and color guard. He quickly shook his head. Caesar had a goal right now, and that was to talk to Jazmine.

He walked over to Jazmine. "Hey babe, do you wanna go on a walk?"

"Hm, sure." She replied in a monotone voice. She was obviously still upset about the whole wrestling thing with Diamond. She got up and started walking around the park with Caesar.

"Baby, you know what happened earlier with me and Diamond…wasn't what it looked like, right?" Caesar asked. "We were just wrestling, that's all."

"Wrestling, huh? Okay." Jazmine said, totally not convinced. Lots of guys used the "just wrestling" excuse when they were cheating.

"Come on Jazmine. You're my girl! You know that!" Caesar pleaded. Jazmine did not respond. Caesar started to get frustrated with her.

"Well, since you're already pissed at me, I'm not spending Christmas with you."

Jazmine whipped her head towards him. "What!?"

"My folks are going to New York to visit family for the holidays. I was originally going to stay here with you, now with Jamari in the picture, Diamond and I both agreed that it would be good for Jamari to have a Christmas with both sides of his family."

"Oh…I see."

"That's all you have to say?" Caesar crossed her arms.

"Yep. You claim to be over Diamond and all about me. Now you're out here going on a trip to New York with her. Remember how you PROMISED to take me and Lela to New York!?" Jazmine shouted.

"My god, you are acting like a child!" Caesar threw his hands in the air. "This is not about you OR Diamond! It is about my son! I thought you of all people would understand that! You're the one who preaches about putting your kids first! If you wanted to do something similar with Huey, I would be okay it!"

"That's different! I actually set boundaries with Huey! I've made it clear to Huey that we are over and that I am WITH YOU! Have you ever had that conversation with Diamond yet!?" Jazmine angrily asked. Caesar just stood there, dumbfounded. "Exactly, that's what I thought!" She stormed away from Caesar.

"Cindy, I'm ready to go home!" Jazmine snatched her keys off the table. Cindy knew better not to ask Jazmine any questions when she was angry. "Lela Rose! Come on, we're leaving!" Jazmine yelled out. Lela pouted but ran off the playground with Justin. Diamond walked over to Jazmine, looking concerned.

"Jazmine, is everything okay?" She asked. Jazmine just glared at her, before walking away from her. Cindy followed right behind her with Justin and Chanel. Diamond sighed and walked back to Jamari. "Sorry kiddo, looks like they had to leave early."

"Oh." Jamari pouted.

"Don't be sad." Diamond encouraged. "I brought your overnight bag. You're having a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa Caesar tonight!"

"Yay!" He cheered.

"Come, one baby." Mrs. Caesar held her hand out to him. "Grandma has your bag in my car."

Jamari gave his mother a big hug before leaving. Caesar walked over once his mother and Jamari were gone.

"Did you and Jazmine have a fight or something?" Diamond asked. "She looked pissed when she left."

"Let's just go home," Caesar responded.

It was a few hours later, and Caesar was back at his apartment. He was sitting on his bed, with a navy blue box in his hand. He thought back on what his mother said earlier. He needed to make up his mind about Diamond and Jazmine. Caesar loved Jazmine. She was the first girl he fell in love with. He had his eyes on her since the day they met in the 5th grade. God, she looked so cute with those ponytails. Her naïve nature at the time just made her even more adorable. Jazmine was also an overachiever. Whenever there was a school fundraiser, she was always one of the highest sellers. Despite becoming a single teen parent, she didn't let that stop her from going to college and getting her degree. He always admired that about her.

Then there was Diamond. Caesar thought that he would always be hung up on Jazmine. Until he met Diamond. The other girl's Caesar dated were only rebounds to get his mind of Jazmine. But Diamond was something different. They started as friends, then feelings started to grow. Caesar never even thought about Jazmine while he was with her. Diamond was fun, believed in the same things he did, athletic, smart, beautiful. When she moved away, he felt his whole world shatter. He thought he would immediately go back to liking Jazmine after she left, but he didn't. His feelings for Jazmine did not return until after Lela's birth. But he actually thought about Diamond every single day. Then when she came back, it felt like a part of his heart finally came back to him.

"Michael." A voice called. He looked up to see Diamond. Her shirt was pulled off, and she wore a black lacy bra. Caesar bit his lip as he looked up and down her body. Her hourglass shaped figure was perfect. Diamond slowly walked over to him. "Michael…do you want me?"

It was around 9 p.m. Though Jazmine did not care. She was driving over to see her boyfriend. She thought about their argument from earlier. Caesar was right…Jazmine was acting like a spoiled brat. Caesar has a son now, so she has to get used to coming second. If Caesar can get used to being second to Lela, then she should be able to handle it as well.

Jazmine parked right outside Caesar's apartment. She got up and unlocked to door with the key he gave her. "Caesar?" She called out. No response. She went up the stairs to see if he was in his room. Jazmine could see that his lamp was on his. Slowly, she walked over to the door. Jazmine waited a moment before opening his door.

"WJAT THE HELL!?" Jazmine screamed.

She couldn't believe what was in front of her. A naked Caesar, scrambling to put his pants back on, while an also naked Diamond was in his bed. Jazmine felt a huge lump in her throat, and her heart began to shatter into a million pieces. It felt like her whole world began to crumble. The next thing she knew, she was running out of the bedroom

"Baby, wait!" Caesar called after her. He darted down the stairs after her. He grabbed her by the arm once he caught up to her.

"CAESAR, LET ME GO!" Jazmine screamed.

"Baby, please, just let me explain!" Caesar cried.

"I am NOT your baby anymore! And there is nothing for you to explain! You HAD SEX with her! "Jazmine yelled at him and yanked her arm away from him. "The funny thing is, I came to APOLOGIZE to you! I thought I was in the wrong because I was jealous of Diamond! And I WAS RIGHT TO BE JEALOUS!"

Caesar just stood there in silence.

"See, now you have nothing to say!" Jazmine laughed pathetically. "You know; I took three years to work up the courage to date again. I wanted someone who would be her forever. Someone who would love me and treat my daughter like their own. That's why I fell in love with you, Caesar." She then started to cry. I imagined a future with you. We would move in someday, get married, and have kids of our own. Now, I can't even look you in the eye."

"I am so sorry, Jazmine." Caesar started to tear up. "Please, don't go."

Jazmine grabbed his hand, dropping the spare key he gave her into his hand. "Goodbye Caesar." She then walked out the front door. Jazmine ran into her car and jumped into the front seat. She pulled out the driveway just in case Caesar decided to chase her down. She needed to talk to someone. Her parents were most likely asleep. Cindy was busy with the baby; she didn't need to worry about Jazmine as well. Jazmine decided to keep driving. She ended up driving for the next thirty minutes…

Huey Freeman was in his living room watching CNN. He was about to turn off his TV and read his new book in bed until he heard a knock at his door. Who would knock on his door at 9:30 at night? He got up to answer the door. There stood a tearful, Jazmine Dubois.

"Jazmine? What's wrong?" Huey asked in a worried tone. Jazmine just laid her head on his chest and started crying. He sighed and brought her into his apartment, closing the door behind him. He wrapped his arms around her, and just let her pour all her emotions onto his shoulder.

"We were wrong with Caesar." Jazmine cried into his shirt.

"We were wrong? Jazmine, what do you mean?"

"I walked in on him in bed with Diamond." She muttered.

"That Fucking Dumbass," Huey swore. "Hey, Jazmine, look at it."

Jazmine looked up at him. Huey wiped the tears running down her face away with his thumb. "What Caesar did was stupid," Huey said, forcing her to look at him in the eyes. "He doesn't deserve to have someone like you."

"Someone like me? What's that supposed to mean?" Jazmine asked, her voice still wavering.

"Smart, caring, somewhat funny, beautiful as hell girl."

"…You calling me beautiful makeup for you calling me somewhat funny." Jazmine frowned. "Even though I am the reason for 95% of all your smiles."

"Yeah…you are," Huey admitted. "I am never admitting that again though. If anyone asks, I will deny it."

Jazmine smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "You always knew how to cheer me up…"

Huey and Jazmine stared into each other's eyes for a moment. This is what Jazmine had been talking about all this time. Their chemistry. Every time Jazmine and Huey touched each other, it felt like a chemical reaction. Just being in his arms again made her forget about her feelings from before. What she was going to do next was probably crazy, but she didn't care. She slowly reached up to Huey and…

She kissed him.

Huey wasted no time to kiss her back. His arms slid around her waist, pulling her closer to him. He didn't mind if it was some rebound kiss, as long as his Nubian princess was back in his arms. But by the way, they were kissing, it did not feel like a rebound kiss. It felt like a genuine connection.

Jazmine pulled away and started to mess with Huey's shirt. That's when Huey immediately snapped out of it.

"J-Jazmine, wait." He moved his hands away from his shirt. "Y-You're really vulnerable right now."

"So let me be vulnerable." She whispered, leaving kisses down his neck. Huey started to groan before pulling away again.

"I just don't want you to regret it, that's all," Huey stated. "Just hooking up with me to get back with Caesar. Do you really want to stoop to his level?"

"…You're right, Huey." Jazmine stepped away, her face pink from embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Huey…I should probably leave!" She quickly left the room. Huey went to call after her, but he decided that she needed some space. Well, seeing her at her Christmas party in a couple of days was going to be awkward.

Once Jazmine got into her car, she dialed Cindy's number. "Hey, Cindy…pull the ice cream out of the freezer for me…along with a glass of wine."
