I want to apologise again about this chapter being late. I did say there isn't a upload day but you can usually expect a update at the beginning of the week, or possibly Sunday.

Amelia's POV-

Once we arrived in Turkey Istanbul we got a room for the night. We stay in the room until it is time to leave, we walk for two hours to arrive at the train station. On the way Declan stops in a book shop, telling us three to wait outside. After a short five minutes, he comes out with a bag. As soon as we arrived at the train station Oscar went off to erase the cameras with the help of his magical skills and Declan sents off to the ticket lady, using compulsion to get free tickets. Fifteen minutes later a train turns up at the platform we were waiting on and we will get on.

It's only once we get on the train that Declan tells us our next stop is Russia. We will be taking train after train to get there, something about wanting to change the routine because the guardians won't be expecting us to just 'pop on a train and head to Russia'. After all, it's a stupidly long way. It will take days of being on the train. However along the way we have to take stops, those lasting for a few hours because some trains only arrive once or twice a day. So to keep us busy we are to learn Russian, that's what he went in and brought in the bookshop. Russian language books, Great, this is going to be a fun journey.

It takes eighteen and a half hours until our first stop, Gara Bucharest Nord. During that time we learnt quite a bit of Russian very well, slept for a few hours and ate some snacking bits because this train doesn't offer anything proper to eat.

As soon as we arrived in Gara Bucharest Nord we have a six-hour wait until our next train arrives. We looked for guardians or anyone else and once we were sure there isn't anyone there we left the train station. We go to a restaurant and order some food. Declan and I ordered a steak, Oscar ordered a chicken burger and Skylar ordered a chicken curry, which she kept complaining about being too spicy. After we ate Oscar went and erased the camera footage, we then walked around for a bit until we found a movie theatre, looking at what is on, how long the movie is and how long we have, Declan finally decides to let us watch it. Unfortunately, it was in Turkish so we didn't understand much of it, we did understand parts and it made the time pass faster so it was worth it.

After the movie we walked back to the train station, Oscar erasing the footage. Our train was late by half an hour but once we got on, Declan told us to only speak to each other in Russian from now on so we can get used to speaking to others in Russian and we all complied.

Unknown POV

I found them. Two very young little girls and two young boys. It's clear they are children. They may be children but they can fight very well. Three of them look lost but what seems to be the oldest boy doesn't. They keep looking around.

I sit trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, reading my book. I watch them out of the corner of my eye, I see every single movement they make, however, I do it in such a way that they cannot tell. To them, I am a nobody. The last thing I want is to lose sight of them. He wants to know their next move, it isn't time for me to interact with them.

I got my phone out to look at the information we have gathered. My group has known and gathered information on the moroi and dhampir world for centuries, generations, however, things started changing about fifteen years ago. First with a new elemental magic rediscovered which they called spirit that can bring people back to life. Then they started restoring strigoi, other things such as the uprising for moroi to learn to fight or taking the fight to the strigoi to stop sitting around doing nothing. Now we hear about these children. They are new to us.

There is Oscar who is a dhampir but who has the ability to use magic, he especially likes to use fire apparently. He's the youngest male, he is the only one the Ivashkovs didn't adopt, he has his mum's blonde hair and his dad's green eyes. He is the most normal however even he shouldn't exist, dhampirs shouldn't have the ability of magic.

Declan, Skylar and Amelia are complete mysteries to us. They are who we have to watch the most, we cannot lose them, they are our priority. They look like their respective parents. They are unbelievably fast and strong, they managed to fight guardians off, the best of the best guardians off easily enough. Then lost alchemists like it was nothing. They have fought against strigoi without breaking much of a sweat, we have no idea how powerful they are, that's why we are keeping a distance. We watched it all, we have people watching them constantly, usually four, one for each of them. however because this is a train, it's too suspicious to have four random people on the train so it's only me on the train. Once they get off I am to follow them until four watches join them. We won't interact, I will be able to tell just by a look that they give me, who they are and when it's time for me to make an unsuspicious get away until later.

We aren't here for protection. Just to observe and take note. We know eventually, they will lose the guardians completely with no trace left behind and settle down somewhere. We will wait until they are comfortable then start adding certain dynamics to their lives slowly.

It wasn't until I realised they were speaking to each other in broken Russian, that I learnt where their next move was. I still had my phone out so I sent a text.

'Can't wait to see you again, I miss you so much, you've got to show me around Saint Basil's Cathedral again it is amazing' it's coded but it's obvious where they are heading.

'I miss you too, can't wait to give you a massive hug, lots of love' this message reads, received loud and clear and to keep to the mission.

Amelia's POV-

After a nine-hour journey, we arrive at our stop in Ungeheni. Before we leave the train station we look around. Looking for anything suspicious. The only suspicious thing that happens is a lady with black hair walks behind us slowly, on her phone and then she suddenly turns her phone off and rushes past us to leave the train station as fast as possible without running, so she doesn't catch people's attention. I don't know maybe I'm just being paranoid but it seemed strange to me. I don't bother to voice it and the other three didn't seem to notice, so I brush it off as nothing. We have four hours until our next train arrives at the station so we walk around for about an hour until we arrive at a park, full of children. Children playing with other children, parents watching over little ones, children on swings or other equipment.

It's strange to think that some of those children are the same age as me or just a little younger, possibly a few even older, they are there having fun, running around, going up and down the slide, playing on the swings, talking, laughing, not a worry in the world. Unlike us. We are running around the world, I feel like I never had much of a childhood, I don't think dhampirs usually do but we had even less of a childhood then normal dhampirs. Declan and Skylar took responsibility for me and Oscar at a very young age especially when we went to the academy. We all started training at a younger age then other dhampir children. It's not common for children my age to be able to fight and kill strigoi, or fight as I can, let alone be running around the world trying to lose everyone, leaving everyone and everything apart from my siblings behind. I know we were never normal and I got used to the idea that we may never see any of them ever again but that doesn't mean it isn't still upsetting. Sometimes I wish I had a normal childhood. That I was a normal dhampir, not some abomination that shouldn't exist.

Skylar could see the emotions going through my eyes watching these children play and decided to play a game.

She tapped my arm hard and shouted "tag your it," and ran away. Declan was faster than Oscar and realised what was happening so he ran away before I could tag him but Oscar didn't get that lucky I tagged him and ran away, we kept this up for about an hour when Oscar had enough and asked to play hide and seek instead because he was the one to ask he had to be the seeker. A couple of hours later we had to get back to the train station to get our next train. I just had the best time ever during our time at the park. We've been very stiff and wary of everyone and everything around us so it was nice to just forget everything and have fun.

On the train we went back to learning Russian, we erased the cameras as usual. It was a nine-hour journey until we arrive at our next destination Moskva Kievkajei, once there we are going to stay in a hotel overnight before getting our next train. Nine hours later, we were all much better at Russian. When that was all we could do and we all had really good memories we've picked Russian up quite easily. On the way to find a hotel, we walked past a library that was still opened. We all went in and found a few books, we all got more detailed Russian books so we could learn the language extensively and a few normal books. I got fantasy book about time travelling cowboys, Skylar got a romantic comedy book, Oscar got one about pirates and Declan got one about a dystopian future. We then went on to find a room for the night, we ended up having to share the room as there was only one free room, the boys let me and Skylar share the double bed, Oscar took the sofa and Declan slept on the floor with blankets.

Before going to sleep we decided to go out for a few drinks, that's a plus about all of this, I am not old enough to drink but they let me. However like usual when we try to go out and have a night to ourselves we run into trouble. I don't understand how because this isn't a city or anything, this is a town, which means feeding here is going to bring unnecessary attention.

Skylar POV-

I was enjoying the night until I felt nausea. We found three strigoi men, like usual chatting some innocent women up. We waited until they got to the club door ready to leave before we started following them. We followed all three of them. This time they didn't just pull the women into an alleyway. No, they took them back to a hotel room splitting up. I and Declan indicated we will take one of them by ourselves each and that Amelia and Oscar will take the last one.

It wasn't until after I followed my strigoi and woman into its room. That I noticed he wasn't alone. Two others were waiting in the room with him. They notice me the second I walked in. The confused expression on their faces and then they each smirked one after the other when they smelt me. I wasn't scared of them. I would rather die than show them fear, I've made it my goal to save this woman and that's what I'm going to do.

"Let her go!" I demanded. They laughed and the one I followed in stood up. He ran to me. However, I saw him coming so I sidestepped him at the last second and he ran straight into the door. I turned to face him and grabbing his head and push it into the door with one hand and punching his back with the other. I had the benefit over him. However, the other two notice what was happening and came running to me. I noticed it too late. One managed to grab my neck and throw me to the other side of the room to the full glass doors which made them smash and onto the balcony. I had glass all over my skin, cuts everywhere. I had a piece of glass inside my cheek which I tore out. Blood started dripping my face ruining my dress.

"You've ruined my dress!" I screamed at them they ran to me but I jumped up and prepared myself, jumping in the air in a circling motion to gather momentum I threw my leg out straight, kicking them all in the face, they tried to dodge but didn't manage it. I noticed then that the girl was left alone on the bed, I was too late they managed to sink their teeth's in and she's in too much of a state of bliss to realise what's happening around her. I couldn't get to her because the strigoi was in front of me. I thought why not fuck with their heads a little?

"Hey, have you heard of Dimitri Belikov?" I asked whilst dodging one of them whilst kicking another in the private area, yeah dirty I know but worth it. I knew from their reactions they heard of him.

"How about Rose Hathaway?" They cringed just a little at that.

"We used to work for that bastard, all he cared about was getting his little whore." One of the strigoi shouted at me. I had to laugh a little at that.

"Well guess what motherfuckers, I'm their daughter," I shouted whilst I jumped and kicked all the three again at once. They looked visibly scared for a split second.

"Yeah, bastards fear me!" I punched one as hard as I could knocking him backwards, then kicked another in the groin and the other I pulled towards me I turned around last second and threw him with all of my force off the balcony, him falling down ten floors and landing with a loud thump. For a short while, he is out of it. The other two came rushing towards me at the same time, luckily for me I managed to sidestep them both and they crashed into each other, knocking each other down. I ran over to the girl to check her heartbeat, thankfully her heart is still beating. Once I knew she was alive I got my stake out and threw it at one of the strigoi instantly going into his heart and killing him, woah that was a good aim, I wasn't planning for that, just hurt him. The other strigoi realised what happened and let out a desperate cry running towards me, I managed to dodge him by getting closer to the door. Unfortunately for me, that cry was followed by another three strigoi running into the room, I don't know where from, shit!

I punched the strigoi remaining from the first three knocking him backwards whilst I ran towards the strigoi I killed and grabbing the stake out, sliding to dodge the strigoi that followed after me.

"She's Belikov daughter! the strigoi shouted. They all let out grunts of surprised, fear and excitement. I never knew my father was so well known in the strigoi world. Shit, maybe I shouldn't have told them who my father was.

It was me against four, I really should have brought more than one bloody stake. I noticed in the corner of my eye the kitchen, there will be knives there, I am good at throwing knives, I tried running as fast as I could to the kitchen, however, I didn't make it. One of the strigoi grabbed me and pushed me against the wall, instantly sinking their teeth into my neck. It is the best feeling I have ever felt, for a second my brain made me freeze and just enjoy it. The strigoi pulled back, "god you taste amazing" then sunk his teeth back in, it was until I felt a bulge in his jeans that made me realise what was going on, my blood tasted so good, it actually turned him on. I managed to kick him in the groin because it was hard it made the feeling that much worse for him before the others could retaliate I sunk my stake into him. My mind cleared up in a split second, pulling my stake out of the strigoi heart I ran towards another of the strigoi jumping him, he fell to the floor and I staked him, two to go. One of the strigoi grabbed me by my hair and threw me off the strigoi, I pulled my stake with me, I tried to turn to stake him but I couldn't manage it, he pulled me towards the balcony, turned me so I was facing it and pushed into me, trapping me between him and the fence of the balcony. I don't know what to do to get out of this. I cleared my mind and before he managed to sink his teeth into my neck I head butted him so hard I knew I'd have a headache but it made him stumble back enough so I could turn and punch him and then stake him.

It wasn't until he was dead that I realised what the other strigoi was doing. He had his teeth in the girl's neck. Without thinking about it I threw my stake at him, hitting his heart and killing him. I quickly turned to look down from the balcony. The strigoi I threw over was nowhere to be seen. I turned without a second thought and ran to the girl. On checking for her heartbeat and not finding it, I realised I failed and she died. She died because I was unable to look after her.

An innocent girl died because I wasn't fast enough. When I heard the door bash open again I looked up ready to fight off whoever it was, before I threw my stake at them I realised it was Declan, Oscar and Amelia. They looked around the room shock evidence on their faces when they saw I killed five strigoi all by myself. I cried. I couldn't help it. I failed her, an innocent girl died because of me how can I forgive that? That's what we are trained for, our entire lives we train to fight strigoi and save our moroi, she isn't a Moroi but I took her as my charge. I didn't even know her name. Declan approached slowly, bending down in front of me. He looked at me and his face grimaced. I couldn't look at their faces so I covered my face with my hands.

"Oh my god Skylar, I am so so sorry. We should have never separated" he looked like he was going to cry.

"Don't say that. Did you guys at least save your girls?" I asked peeking through my fingers.

"Yes but we only fought against the ones we followed, you fought against five and killed them, that is an accomplishment, you should be very proud of yourself" Declan tried to reassure me.

"Six" I mumbled.

"What?" Declan asked.

"I fought against six, I threw one over the balcony, he didn't die though, he got away," I told them, they all looked shocked again.

"Skylar you fought against six strigoi all by yourself, I am sorry you couldn't save her but think about all the people you have saved by killing these five." Oscar tried to reassure me. Amelia and Declan helped me to my feet whilst Oscar turned and set the five strigoi on fire.

"What am I meant to do with the girl?" Oscar asked.

"I don't know," that was all Declan said, we ended up leaving the girl alone on the bed, letting someone else come and find her. We went back to our hotel room, the other three fell asleep instantly but I couldn't. I stayed up all night. I couldn't close my eyes without seeing her there, her lifeless body in front of my eyes. And I just cried. I am not much of a crier but I just felt like everything slammed into me all at once. I am strong but I do have a breaking point. I am always there for my family, we left to save ourselves however I knew if I or Declan got left behind we would much prefer that than for anyone else to be left behind. I reassure them as much as I can and act as the strong one. Never shying away from a fight but I can not forgive myself for being the reason why an innocent girl is dead because of me. I didn't want to cry in front of them. so I waited until they were asleep and then cried for hours, silently so I didn't wake them until I saw the sunrise. I walked out of the room and into the sunrise. Watching it rise. It felt like a new day. A new life. At that moment I decided I need to get better I never want to be the reason why someone else died ever again. I came back to the room to find all three of them awake. I didn't bother talking to them instead I fixed them breakfast, I didn't feel like eating so I didn't make myself anything.

Amelia's POV-

Once we arrived back at the train station we had about a half-hour wait until our train arrived, Oscar erased the cameras and we had a look for guardians still no one seems to know where we are, thankfully. Skylar still hasn't said anything, she looks dead. Onboard we learnt from the Russian books we picked up and read our new books, I am very happy with my choice of book. I don't think I could have found something better suited for me if I tired. We also slept during the journey. I noticed Skylar didn't sleep. The journey Took another twenty-eight hour until we got to Alexandlovosky. We checked for guardians again but no one seemed to be here waiting, thank god. By this point, Skylar hasn't slept in two whole days and hasn't eaten anything in almost two days. The entire journey took what felt like one hundred hours and I don't think it's too far off, however, we are in Russia! I am happy that we will be getting a car for our next move but we will be spending the night here to freshen up. Skylar again didn't sleep.

I can't believe Skylar overpowered me. She's twelve years old. How did my twelve-year-old daughter win in a fight against me? I am well known to be one of the best guardians in the world. I have worked hard to get to that status and people look up to me. So how did my twelve-year-old daughter do that?

I am overly proud of Rose. She is an amazing guardian, one of the best alongside me. That's why we work so well together so how did Amelia manage to getaway? Eddie is an amazing guardian too and he lost in a fight against Declan, Declan managed to knock three guardians out. Amelia somehow disappeared just like Oscar did and Skylar ran so fast nobody but I managed to keep up and then she knocked me out.

They are going to be so difficult to get back to the academy. Well, that's if we can find them again. I am getting so exhausted. I just want them home and safe. I would stop at nothing to keep them safe. That's what's irritating the most, we have no idea where they are.

I didn't even notice when Eddie walked into the gym.

"Dimitri, we have word, please come to the dining hall in guest housing when you're ready." He said calmly. I knew he was just as worried as the rest of us, he wanted all four of them back, safe and sound at the academy. I didn't bother to have a shower I wanted to know what was going on. So then I left with him, with my towel on my shoulder and my bottle in my hand.

I came into the dining hall to find everyone there. Jeanine and Abe have finally accepted that we couldn't tell them, however, they haven't forgiven us for it. I don't think they ever will forgive us for keeping something like this from them.

"We found guardian Cole, he was tied and gagged to a chair in a hotel room, unconscious, in Vienna, Austria. It doesn't look like they harmed him in any way. We received word that a couple of nights ago, the alchemists spotted them in China Tianjin. However, they managed to slip away again, harming a few alchemists along the way. They are all okay, no need to worry. What intel we've got it's believed they are currently in Turkey Instanbul. We will be sending a search party out soon. I am sorry there is not better news." Guardian Blake bowed before leaving the dining hall.

"I want to go with that search party. If that's alright?" I asked Lissa.

"I am going too" added Rose. She didn't bother to ask because she knew Lissa wouldn't say no.

Lissa and Christian have forgiven us for not telling them about Skylar and Amelia.

"Yes, of course," Lissa responded.

"Has anyone gotten hold of Neil Raymond?" I asked everyone. No one responded.

"I think it's time to tell him. He has a right to know about things like this and he might be able to help. Adrain? Sydney?" I asked. Neil is Declan's real father, he left Declan with Adrain and Sydney for Declan's safety.

"It's also time that we let the public know, we need everyone looking for them. I also want to tell them who their parents are, I know it's not what you wanted for them but they will be under my protection so no one will harm them. If they do it will be treated as treason." Lissa declared. We couldn't protest so we just nodded our heads.

Hello everyone, I tried adding some action in with the fight scene against the strigoi, however, this chapter is mainly just to move the story along. Ive started a little mystery in this chapter, super proud of myself, even if I don't know what's happening with these people yet. I've got a few ideas. I also didn't plan the park scene so I like how that worked out too. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Thank you for reading.
