A/N Hello boys and girls I'm back with a new chapter! The usual thanks is in order. And Enjoy ch 10
Ch 10 Defending One's Home
The next day Rani was restless. The brown coated Queen couldn't sleep after what had happened between her and Kion. Rani got up and went outside and began to pace. After pacing for awhile Rani sat down and lowered her head as the reality of what had happened sank in. "What have I done?" she whispered. "How could I have been so stupid? I promised myself I was never going to be rash and hurtful again and yet that's actually what I did. I deserve to be alone." Rani felt tears come to her eyes and she allowed them to come and she softly cried. Just then she felt a nose press into her side. Wiping away the tears Rani looked over and saw Baliyo there, a said look on his face.
"You ok sis," the younger lion asked, his voice full of concern.
"Oh Bali I'm such an idiot," Rani sobbed, burying her face in Baliyo's chest fur. Baliyo's blue eyes went wide with shock as he wasn't used to Rani crying like this. But he said nothing as he gently stroked his sister's back.
"Hey its ok sis," the light brown lion said, wrapping his paw around his big sister. "I'm right here Rani. I'm right here. Everything is gonna be alright."
"I drove away the love of my life," Rani's muffled voice said. "How can things possibly be alright?"
"Hey Kion will be back," Baliyo said. "He just needed a breather. Trust me 'Ani he'll be back before you know it."
"I'm not so sure," Rani said, pulling her head up and wiping her eyes. "He was so angry with me and I really hurt him with what I said."
"Kion's not a lion that holds grudges," Fuli said, coming onto the scene with Azaad right behind her. "He'll get over it. It might take a little while but he'll be back. Trust me on that one."
"Fuli's right Rani," Azaad chimed in. "If Kion were truly gone for good the he wouldn't have told us to stay. We would have gone back with him."
"That's true," Rani said with a sniffle. "But still I.." But she was interrupted by Ono's frantic cry.
"Rani!" the egret cried out, swooping down and perching in front of the Queen. "Rani thank goodness I found you!" Ono cried out as he perched in front of the Queen. "There's major trouble brewing!"
"Oh please don't tell me Makucha is back," Rani said with a groan.
"I'm afraid so," Ono said. "And he has Sarak surrounded."
"What?!" the group cried out, their eyes wide.
"Take us to him!" Rani ordered.
"Follow me!" Ono cried as he took off. Fuli went back to the Tree to gather the others while the rest of the group followed Ono, all of them hoping they weren't to late to save Sarak.

Back at Pride Rock Kion had awakened with a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. Getting up to stretch Kion decided to go down to the watering hole to get a drink. After having his fill the golden lion let out a sigh. He still was unsure what to do about his marriage. A big part of him wanted to forgive Rani and go back home to the Tree of Life. But there was still the lingering anger inside of him. And that anger is what terrified Kion the most. Looking down at his reflection Kion absentmindedly rubbed his scar. "Why do I keep doing this to myself," he grumbled as he jerked his head back up and walked away from the water. Kion soon found himself in a familiar place. And that was the Lion Guard den. Kion looked around and smiled. "Some things never change," Kion said. Just then he heard voices looking over Kion saw Vitani and her Guard coming into the cave. "Oh hey there Kion," Vitani said with a smile. "Didn't expect to see you in here."
"Sorry," the former Guard leaded said. "I was just.."
"Remembering old times?" Shabaha said, suddenly pooping up beside Kion. Kion jumped slightly and Shabaha laughed crazily.
"Jeeze Shabaha why don't you grow up?" Imara said, rolling her eyes.
"Ah shut up Imara," Shabaha growled, glaring at her friend.
"Anyways," Vitani said, rolling her blue eyes at her friends. "We were just regrouping. It's been a Hell of a day. Reirei and her damn jackals have been causing trouble for Janja and Jasiri."
"Yeah but Vitani taught them a lesson," Kasi said with a proud smile.
"Yeah," Shabaha said with a laugh. "Blew them away clear to the other side of Africa." Shabaha began laughing again. Imara nudged her friend hard making her stop laughing.
"That's really great," Kion said with a smile. "I'm glad things are going so well."
"Thanks," Vitani said with a smile of her own. "By the way how are things going with you?"
"Well to be honest..." Kion began. But just then Tazama came running into the cave.
"Vitani there's trouble," the lioness said. "Shupavu and her group are causing trouble near Big Springs."
"Ladies lets go!" Vitani cried out. "Til the Pride Lands end!"
"Lion Guard defend!" the other lionesses cried as they ran out of cave. As Kion watched the Guard leave he let out a sigh.
"And then again some things really change," he said softly as he walked out of the cave feeling more down than ever.

Meanwhile Sarak had found himself in a world of trouble. The brown coated lion had decided to take a walk to do some thinking. Mostly about how he could help his niece through this tough time she was having. "There must be something I can do for her," he thought as he walked. But he was pulled out of his thoughts by some rustling he heard. "Is someone there?" Sarak called. Silence. "Hello?" he called again only to be met once again by silence. "Must have been the wind," he muttered as he continued to walk. Then he heard the noise again. "Whose there?!" Sarak demanded. "You better show yourself or I'll..." But before he could continue two figures jumped out from the bushes and tackled Sarak to the ground. "What the Hell?" Sarak growled, shaking his head to clear his vision. Looking up he saw Fahari and Jiona on top of him. "You leopards never learn do you?!" Sarak snarled as he launched himself upwards and flung the two males off of him.
"Oh we learn plenty Sarak," Makucha growled as he swung at the male lion. Sarak dodged Makucha's blow, causing the leopard to stumble. Sarak then struck Makucha hard in his face, sending him sprawling to the ground. Sarak heard a hissing sound and looked down just in time to see Ora snap at his back leg. Sarak quickly jumped to the side to avoid getting bitten. But he failed to pay attention to where he was going and he ran into Fahari who quickly hit the older lion in his face. Sarak roared in pain as the blood dripped down his face. Fahari waisted no time and hit Sarak again. Only this time Sarak stumbled and walked right to where Jiona was waiting. The leopard hit Sarak hard in his head. Only this time Sarak fell to the ground. By now Makucha had recovered from his hit and was pissed. "You're a pain in my ass Sarak," the leopard leader growled as Sarak got to his feet and shook his head to clear his vision. But Makucha wasn't about to let Sarak get a chance to recover and hit hit Sarak hard, this time in his side. Sarak once again fell to the ground and Ora took the opportunity to bit Sarak hard in his already injured side, tearing it wide opened. Jiona and Fahari hit Sarak at the same time, aiming for his head. They hit their target and knocked him out cold.
"Should we finish him Makucha?" Jiona asked.
"Yeah," Makucha growled, glaring down at the unconscious Sarak. "Lets finish this old bastard." With that the three males raised their paws to kill Sarak.
