Note: There isn't much I need to say here, other than the fact that this story isn't getting as much attention from me as my other stories. Before we move on, I have something to say to my first reviewer on this story:
Yamagata: I'm glad that you're in support of Lexi and Baloo's relationship. I'm also glad that you're the first reviewer on this story. Can you recommend this to other people? I wonder why people haven't reviewed this one as much as my other stories.
I also want to thank the person who liked this story and is following it. You can leave a review detailing what you like and what you don't like if you want. Now then, it's time for chapter ten.
Chapter 10: Waiting
It had been two days since Baloo left for the retreat, and Lexi was bored. She had the rest of the week, as well as the two following weeks, to wait for her boyfriend to return. After all, the rabbit was pregnant with his child.
Why didn't I just ask if I could go with him? Lexi thought to herself, Lexi, you idiot, you're pregnant with Baloo's child and you didn't tell him that you wanted to go with him? What is wrong with you, girl?
The yellow rabbit sighed, not knowing what to do for the day. That was until her cellphone started to ring. When she picked it up, she saw that the person who was calling her was someone she knew well: Tech E. Coyote.
"Hi Tech." Lexi spoke into her phone.
"Hi Lexi, how are you doing?" Tech's voice came out of the other side.
"Fine, I guess." The rabbit said.
"Teagan told us that you're dating a guy you met in the forest." Tech's voice spoke.
"Yeah, he's a sweetheart." The female stated.
"I've even seen you two walking through town, how's your relationship going?" The coyote's voice asked.
"Well, how are you and Rev doing?" The rabbit asked.
"We're doing fine, but Rev's parents are still cautious of me." Tech said through the phone, "How about you?"
"Baloo and I are still together, so you shouldn't worry about us." Lexi said.
"Okay." Tech's voice said.
"By the way," Lexi ventured, "did Teagan tell a lot of people about me and Baloo?"
"She only told me, Rev, Duck and Slam." The coyote answered, "She even told some of your friends from College."
"What were their reactions?" The rabbit asked.
"The only one who hasn't said anything nice is Duck." He responded, "I guess that he's still sore over you not going out with him. Anyway, have your parents heard about the bear you're dating?"
"I haven't called them since I met Baloo." Lexi frowned.
"You haven't spoken to them at all?" Tech's voice asked, "What about Ace, does he know?"
"He might be busy at the moment, so I might tell him when he isn't." Lexi said.
"I gotta go," Tech's voice came out of the phone, "Rev is waiting for me."
"Okay, I'll get off. Bye!" Lexi said before hanging up.
Now that her call was over, Lexi got an idea: heading out to the woods for a walk. That would be something to keep her preoccupied before Baloo got back. Getting out her backpack, the rabbit looked through it, discovering that her supplies were okay.
I should probably get a job. Lexi though to herself, I can't just do what I want forever. Maybe I could get one when I come back into town.
Lexi got her supplies together and decided to get going. As the rabbit walked through town, she was hoping that no one would see that she was pregnant. The last thing she needed was to be ridiculed by someone for being pregnant despite having no husband. Not even her friends would do something like that to her, not even Duck. The forest was a mile away, so she didn't have to walk for long. She could have even ran to the forest if she felt like it.
Upon entering the forest, Lexi had a sense of deja vu. However, the place did feel a tad empty, despite the amount of animals and plant life. She then walked through the forest, deciding to spend some time there. The rabbit was prepared to defend herself from harm.
I've got my knife, so I can fight off whatever comes my way. Lexi thought to herself, Hell, I can even kick some jerk in the balls if I need to. If I get all beat up before Baloo comes back, and he wonders what happened to me, I'll tell him that I got in a fight.
Note: Well, Lexi, you're about to encounter a familiar face. In fact, it might be someone we all know and love. I added in the other Loonatics because I wondered: Even if they don't have powers, they could still hang out, couldn't they?
Lexi: Definitely.
Duck: Without a doubt.
Ace: We're friends, Doc.
Tech: Me and Rev are more than friends.
Rev: We're-lovers-until-the-end!
Slam: Yeah.
Okay, that concludes this chapter. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism. Until next time guys, peace!
