Ash vs. Lance
-6 Days Later-
Lance and Ash held a non-official battle in Arena number 7. Ash looked around the crowd of roaring people who showed up to see the champion of both Kanto and Johto battle against the Aura Guardian Ash Ketchum, who was a celebrity in his own right.
"Ever since you returned to society, Ash, I've wanted to battle you on a grand stage like this. Even in the past when we met, I wanted a battle, but I never believed that you were ready. But now I can see that you are stronger than ever."
"Let's do this Lance," Ash yelled. "Just know that me and my Dragons are coming after you!"
"Alright," the ref said. "I want a clean, dragon-type only battle. This will be a three on three battle, with an intermission once two of a trainer's Pokemon are knocked out. Lance you have the first call. Let the battle commence!"
"Go Dragonite," Lance yelled, throwing out his Ace Pokemon right off the bat.
"Garchomp, may the aura guide you," Ash called.
"Dragonite, use Dragon Pulse!"
"Garchomp, use Dragon Claw to destroy the Dragon Pulse, and follow through with a Dragon Tail."
Dragonite fired a blast of blue energy at Ash's newly evolved Garchomp. Garchomp's claws turned green before pushing forward towards the pulse attack, performing a corkscrew which helped tear through it like it was nothing. After Garchomp ruined Lance's attack, it spun around and hit Dragonite directly with its tail glowing green. Dragonite returned to Lance, while a Salamence was brought out of its pokeball.
"Garchomp, use Dragon Rush!"
"Salamence, use Wing Attack!"
Salamence's wing glowed white as it flew at Garchomp. Garchomp, who remained on the ground, surrounded its body with purple energy, as it pushed off and launched itself into the sky. The energy surrounding Garchomp then took the form of a dragon as it collided with Salamence. The dragon type from Hoenn took a nose dive towards the ground, but recovered and landed back on the ground in front of its trainer. In front of Ash landed his own dragon type.
"Salamence, use..."
"Garchomp, use..."
Both were interrupted by the sudden ringing from Ash's Pokegear. "I'm so sorry Lance… I need to take this," Ash said, somewhat embarrassed.
"I'm sorry Mr. Ketchum, but you can't-" The referee said, turning to Ash.
"Take your time," Lance said, cutting off the referee. "I'm sure our Pokemon would appreciate a quick break."
'So...' Garchomp said to its opponent during this brief pause. 'You from Hoenn?'
'Alola, actually,' Salamence said in a friendly exchange.
"Talk to me Paul," Ash said looking into the screen of his Pokegear.
Paul was holding his fainted Weavile while Torterra was fighting something else in the background. "Ash!-on Mount Silv-" Paul rolled and dodged a Flamethrower. "Get here quick! The Pokemon is-" The feed stopped.
"Paul! Paul!" Ash yelled into his device. "The battle is off Lance! I have to go to Mount Silver and save my friend." Ash pulled out his Garchomp's pokeball and returned the Pokemon.
"I'll go with you," Lance replied, returning his Salamence.
"Is this a forfeit from you Mr. Ketchum?" The ref said.
"No," Lance said. "Somebody's in danger, so it is my duty as Champion of Kanto to help this Aura Guardian act upon it. Let's go rescue your friend."
"Dragonite! Salamence" Both trainers called throwing their respective dragon type Pokemon out. They climbed on their backs and flew off towards Mount Silver.
As the two flew on their dragons, they passed over Ash's Pokemon residing in the field. After seeing the shadows cast on the ground, Ash's Charizard raised its head and looked on as his trainer flew off into the distance towards Mount Silver.
