Hello! As you can see, I'm not dead! So tada! So sorry about the wait again. I'd say it's not going to happen again, but that would be a lie. Maybe not a lie, maybe I'll begin to post regularly again, but you never know.

Onto chapter nine!

I woke up and all I knew was that I had a headache. I couldn't figure out where I was or what was happening. I blinked hard, hoping for my life to fall into place. But nothing happened. I was still in a small room, unsure of how I got there. I stood up to look around, then my stomach rumbled. I was hungry. I looked around for something to eat, but unless rocks were edible, there wasn't.

The door opened and a blond man with a scar on his face walked in. "Hello, Percy."

"Who's Percy?"

The man looked concerned, "I see you've forgotten even more. Here, eat this, it will make you feel better."

He handed me a granola bar, I opened it and stuck it in my mouth, savoring the flavor. I really had been hungry.

The man gestured for me to sit down, so I did, and he joined me on the floor. "My name is Luke, Percy. You were involved in a battle and as an attack on you, the enemy cursed you with a form of degenerative amnesia. We've managed to stop the amnesia from spreading anymore, but as of yet, we can't get your memories back. I'm sorry."

I wasn't really sure how to react to this. "Oh, okay. Did you say battle?"

Luke nodded, "Yes, you've always been our fiercest warrior. We were winning a battle before one of the members of the other side decided to curse you."

I was definitely more confused now, "Who's the other side?"

"They pose as a summer camp called Camp Half-Blood. They fight on the side of the gods."

Somehow I still knew who the gods were, "Like Zeus and Athena?"

Luke nodded, "Exactly. They're the bad guys, essentially. They don't care about us. They only care about themselves. We have to take the world from them, or they'll destroy us all. Their most prominent leaders are known as Annabeth and Thalia. Daughters of Athena and Zeus."

Ironically, the gods I had named managed to be the parents of my bitterest rivals... apparently.

For some reason, those names surfaced a good feeling, not one that I would associate with enemies. And Luke. Something about him rubbed me the wrong way.

"Why am I locked in here?" I felt that was a good question. I was in this room that had no furniture in it, was locked from the outside, and was filled with rubble.

"You were freaking out earlier. You hurt people. they're all okay, but we had to lock you in here to keep a repeat accident from occurring."

Oh, he had an excellent explanation for that. awesome. that narrowed things down. not.

Luke stood, "I'll ask the General about letting you out of here, but for the meantime, just sit tight. We're doing the best we can to restore your memories, but it's probably not going to happen. So we're probably going to have to get you trained before they get here."

"Who's coming?"

"An elite force of warriors. Grover, Thalia, Annabeth, and Zoe. They're coming to try to trick you into joining their side. You must remember that they and everything they stand for is pure evil. Got it?"

"Got it."

Luke smiled at me and walked off, locking the door behind him.

Something about him was sketchy. I turned toward the corner. There was something written there?

I got closer and checked the wall.

My name is Percy Jackson.

I like eating blue food.

My best friend's name is Grover Underwood.

My other best friend's name is Annabeth Chase.

They are on a quest to find me.

I'm the son of Poseidon.

I'm not supposed to exist, but I do.

Do not trust Luke.

Do not trust the General.

I blinked. Luke had called me Percy earlier so I assumed this had to be written by me.

Luke had named the other people I had mentioned in this note. Annabeth. Grover. but he had said they were enemies, so why had I written that they were my best friends?

I was so confused.

I had no way of knowing who was right, and who was wrong. What if I had written this in a half fevered state and had mixed everything up?

Only one thing was clear.

I had to find out which one was right.

And fast.
