Dawn of Injustice: Return of the Mavericks Ch. 18 (Finale pt. 5: Cycle of Despair)

Disclaimer: This is an indirect sequel to the first Dawn of Injustice Loud Heroes story. It follows the Destruction Ending where the Hatchilings of the Phoenix and the Children of the L-Crew sisters are now looking for clues on how will they be able to bring back the Phoenix King, Lincoln Loud (formerly known as Firecracker). Now they are stuck in a timeless plane of existence that is the nexus of all other worlds created. It is the alpha and omega of the worlds, and the realm works as if it never existed and exists as the same time: The World That Never Did. Some characters may return while some may not.

TLH/TC are owned by Nickelodeon Studios. Loud Heroes is owned by Smoking Wrecker [Epic-Wrecker] and Zachlor16.

The war isn't won. The heroes are now battered and bruised on a conflict they cannot hope to win. Floating in the vast ocean of infinite nothingness, they gather once more and struggle; and persist to cling on their lingering will and solace of existence.

-The World That Never Did, Memory Skyscraper-

Logan/Knightwing: What… happened? Where are we?

Materia: Thank Ehyeh, you are awake!

Spiritus: The child is stubborn and of that, I commend thee.

Logan/Knightwing: What's going on? Where is everybody?

Materia: Calm down child. They are here, resting. And for the other four.

Spiritus: They barely managed but they had successfully pulled through from their endeavors. They are now back at their world.

Logan/Knightwing: Thank goodness. But what about us? Why are you both here?

Materia: I swallowed my pride to intervene, knowing that you'll successfully completed your task but a new came about.

Spiritus: Your peers are at rest, returned here at the starting point. You want truth but it will only bring you pain.

Logan/Knightwing: Hmph… I need not your lecture, old man. I need answers.

Spiritus: Very well… then prepare to the painful recollection.

Flashback

Logan, Lita/Rochelle, and Lyle/Toby had been teleported into the Edge of Discord; a land opposite from Order's Sanctuary where there is nothing but desolation and ruin. The place is greatly infested by the manikins due to being close to the goal, The Rift. In the center of the place lies its landmark or capital, The Throne of Bedlam. The three reached the throne and was able to obtain its last relic, a crystalline shaped as a flame with bull horns at its sides. After retrieving the crystal, they received its power and rushed back to the entrance of the land.

Upon reaching the exit, they are met by the others that came with them and reunited by a guidance from the powers they received.

And lastly: Flames of Chaos

However, when they all arrived, they are met with an entity that emerges from The Rift itself. The entity swiftly strikes them all down with violent power but failed to wipe them out with one blow.

Lucy/Deathfrost: There's a breach from a different dimension… a place that was supposed to be erased from the timeline but not completely!

Lyle Toby Loud/Sunspot: You mean…

?: Purging me from the timeline does nothing! If you think I'll go down that easily then you all are sorely mistaken.

Emerson/Empty/Void Dark: I should have known… Vector. And you've brought Desperado Chaos with you too!

Vector: Emerson… Project E… I owe you. I thank you for trying to devour me in your preceding timeline. Let me return the favor with your death. [Notices Emerson's cane: a fragment of the Farneus's Cane] I see… being erased made you weak and being restored means you're still incomplete. But I will be patient with you. That way I can take all your powers into me and make me whole again! For now, I'll just settle with these pathetic human scums!

When Vector and Desperado Chaos are about to charge energy to fire at them, Emerson tried attacking Vector and absorb him into his body just like what happened in his own original world [Dawn of Injustice Loud-Verse, not the Smoking Wrecker Loud-Verse]. However, he was blasted by Vector and brought down to knees. Desperado Chaos unleashed his full power at the wounded heroes. Dust-cloud and shock blasted the area where the heroes are but…

Desperado Chaos: You! How dare you take my place! I am my mother's favorite and not you, Spiritus!

Spiritus: Arrogant as ever Delgaia/Chaos or rather what's left of you from Pandora's Box.

Vector: Materia. Here to thwart us. Ehyeh has failed to erase me.

Materia: Only because He was merciful enough to not meddle in the affairs of mankind. But now, He won't be as merciful.

Vector: Let's see if His mercy will save you!

Before both Vector and Desperado Chaos could attack once more. Materia and Spiritus are teleported along with the injured champions and Emerson out of the Edge of Discord.

Desperado Chaos: Mother!

Vector: Darn it all!

Ehyeh: I erased you! Now I know that I am right about what's keeping you from being destroyed! Stealing powers from my sister.

Pandora: I am as angry as you are, brother. But to think my own son, my manifestation of darkness and discord would allow them to continue.

Desperado Chaos: Why…?

Ehyeh: We should heal the champions first! We are heading back! However, I think you have something in mind, dear sister. [Vanishes into a pillar of Light]

Pandora: Vergilius, Redgrave, Cereza, Jeanne, Beatrice, Karina Mary… I leave the rest to you. [Vanishes into a pillar of darkness]

Flashback Ends

Logan/Knightwing: I see. And Dark Slayer is here taking care of The Rift but you saved us. And now the God of Creation and Light has healed our injuries.

Spiritus: That is correct. The Rift is being tended and sealed so that the interlopers cannot interrupt anymore. Manikin problems will be theirs to deal with.

Materia: As far as I'm concerned, you retrieved all of the core energies of this land but you lacked the power to defend yourselves. The cores need power source. Thankfully, the way to do so is by combat and there are still an abundance of manikins to slay before you can face them again.

Spiritus: The cores are drained the moment you are caught by that preemptive strike. But they shall never again bother. Desperado Chaos remained in the Edge of Discord and Vector is attempting to make a gate to traverse this realm.

Materia: He might escape but it will take time. We must means an act with haste.

Logan/Knightwing: And how do we do that?

Logan was informed of how to obtain energies for the cores to recharge so that they can face the interlopers once more. Suffice to say Logan isn't keen on the idea and the rest of the recently recovered champions are also reluctant to oblige. However, they knew that there's no other choice.

They must battle through a cycle of combat in each of the realm's seven corners once more. A cycle of despair awaits them. The last part would be difficult considering that the last relic is found at the Edge of Discord, but only needed to fight the once at the outskirts. That way they can face Vector and Desperado Chaos once more at the Throne of Bedlam.

Meanwhile

Alastor/Tony Redgrave: This is a bad move.

Dark Slayer: If you had to complain then don't fight, you dead weight!

Alastor/Tony Redgrave: Rubbing salt to a wound, brother! Your son already called me that!

Dark Slayer: Karma for calling him the same.

Alastor/Tony Redgrave: Fine, let's just hurry and meet back to the lassies!

Dark Slayer: Agreed! [Slashes another manikin before catching one of Alastor's handguns] We'll try this your way, one more time.

Alastor/Tony Redgrave: Glad to have you back, brother!

Both: JACKPOT!

Unbroken silence

In jewel of an island

AN: So this was meant to be last week but I was too depressed to even continue writing. If this doesn't get any better, I'm quitting this site and just stick with DeviantArt. I'll still read here but I'm mostly posting fanfics there instead if my condition gets any worse. Another thing is that I was also meant to be making a season 2 for Bloody Roar Loud and a request from another author. I haven't forgotten but I'd also want to prioritize myself then to others. I can help others too, but that's it… only help, not do it entirely myself.
