It was already the evening hours when Blu and Jewel were watching videos on various platforms, mainly YouTube. As Blu had assumed at the very beginning, it drew them in almost immediately and for several hours. They watched all sorts of videos, vlogs, gameplays, a compilation of various funny incidents, with Jewel often laughing, which caused Blu to start laughing too. During this time he could listen to Jewel's laughter, which was gentle and extremely pleasant to listen to.

"You could laugh all the time" said Blu at one time.

"Why?"

"Ekhm... Well you have a beautiful laugh" said Blu trying not to look at Jewel who was staring at him.

"Ekhm, how about another movie?" asked Blu to avoid the embarrassing situation.

"Actually, why not... By the way, don't you feel like your eyes hurt?" asked Jewel to which Blu replied with a laugh.

"Yeah, this will really be the last movie, for you that's enough" explained Blu. He started up some pewdiepie film and they started watching it together. Unfortunately the popcorn had already run out the day before, but that didn't stop them from watching. Blu came up with the idea of making toast for himself and Jewel as part of dinner. However, they had to eat quite carefully so as not to mess up the living room.

"We have to be careful, we can't mess up too much. Linda is a little obsessed with cleanliness" explained Blu handing the stacked toast on a plate to Jewel. They watched the video fairly peacefully until the video started to stutter and Blu had to reduce the resolution from 1080p to 360p.

"What happened?" asked Jewel.

"Worse coverage, it got cloudy and I think it's thundering somewhere." replied Blu. Luckily for them, the video started up quite smoothly on 360p, so they continued watching without any problems. At one point Linda came into the living room taking some clothes with her to carry to her room. Sometimes when there was something interesting on TV she would iron right in the living room so she wouldn't miss the show.

"When you're done watching unplug everything. There is going to be a severe thunderstorm," Linda asked as she left the room and disappeared behind the wall. In fact, thunder was coming from quite a short distance away and the first drops of rain were tapping on the windows.

"Actually, why do people record?" asked Jewel at one point.

"A very good question. Some record because it is their hobby, some record to teach others, and some record for a living. They have their sponsors who pay them for these videos" explained Blu.

"What can they teach?" asked Jewel.

"All sorts of things" replied Blu, then typed the word "tutorial" into the youtube search engine. In a second, several pages came up regarding tutorials on various topics.

"Wow..." said Jewel seeing dozens of tutorials.

"This is the good side of the internet, you can learn something" explained Blu.

"And so normally what do you look at?" asked Jewel.

"Well... Mostly series like the walking dead or game of thrones"

"I saw some site pop up all the time... Por..."

"Portfolio hehe" laughed Blu nervously turning off his laptop.

"You can check people's artwork there" added Blu. When the laptop was off he placed it gently on the sofa. He got down from it and plugged everything from the socket so that he could sleep peacefully at night.

"Why are you unplugging everything?" asked Jewel.

"It's for safety" replied Blu. After 5 minutes everything was unplugged, so Blu and Jewel went to the room where Jewel was sleeping. It was extremely dark. Darker than usual.

"There must be very thick and dark clouds for it to be this dark" commented Blu about the view. They turned left into the corridor and right entering through a slightly ajar door. The room was even darker, but at least it was warmer. Jewel landed by the cage while Blu had to climb up on the desk.

"Lady come inside" Blu said as he reached Jewel who stepped inside.

"Good night Jewel" said Blu, then closed the cage and was about to leave when Jewel stopped him.

"Blu"

"Hm?"

"Because it's awfully dark and I'm scared..." confessed Jewel embarrassingly.

"Ekhm... Well... But you don't have to be afraid, you're in no danger. And if you have to, at most you can wake me up" replied Blu.

"And can we... Sleep together?" asked Jewel. Blu was stupefied. Jewel wanted to sleep together with him!

"Well... I wasn't expecting it to be honest... But if you don't sleep then, let's go to my cage, it's bigger and we should fit." replied Blu. He opened the cage that Jewel came out of.

"Just let's go quietly so Lindy doesn't wake up" said Blu. They walked through the darkness filled corridor and headed down the stairs.

"Go inside" said Blu once they were at the cage. Blu took a deep breath to relax and then walked in after her. It was a sizable cage as it turned out, as there was no shortage of space, and who knows, maybe a little spix Macaw would still fit in.

"Now you're not scared anymore?" asked Blu.

"Not now."

Through the glass, they could see some of the atmospheric landings hitting the ground a few hundred metres away from them. The blyasquids against this dark background were impressive.

"It's a beautiful phenomenon, but terribly dangerous" commented Blu.

"Mhm... Blu, I'm curious about one thing"

"What?"

"I noticed from the very beginning that you never once took to the air... Why?" asked Jewel. Blu was lost. He didn't know what to answer that. He cared about Jewel and didn't want to answer with the truth that he couldn't fly. He was trying to come up with something very plausible on short notice.

" Something ... I've lived 15 years with people, let's say I got used to walking, now walking is more pleasant for me than flying"

"You got used to flying?" asked a surprised Jewel.

"Well... You could partly call it that. It's just that now I'm more comfortable walking than flying" said Blu. He pronounced it quickly so as not to think further. He didn't want Jewel to realise that he was making it up.

"Mhm..." replied Jewel.

"Can I ask you something now?" asked Blu.

"Go ahead and ask."

"Why are you afraid of thunderstorms? Do you associate it with something negative?"

"With fire... It was dark, there was fire... I associate everything with that fire... Every dark place reminds me of it... I still can't accept it..."

"Someday you will find your family," Blu said.

"Perhaps..." sighed Jewel. At that moment, she did something unexpected. She came close to Blu's head and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Blu opened his eyes wide and involuntarily smiled. Fortunately it was dark and Jewel didn't notice it.

"Good night Blu" said Jewel, then closed her eyes.

"Good night Jewel" said Blu quietly out of bewilderment. You could tell it was their first kiss. He was happy to feel Jewel's kiss, but on the other hand Jewel reminded him of his worst flaw. Not being able to fly. Would he ever learn to fly? Perhaps. But Blu didn't want to trouble himself with that. As long as his mood was good he closed his eyes and fell asleep almost immediately.
