The next morning Ani felt weight on her legs. She awoke seeing her dad sitting on her legs smiling. Ani rubbed her eyes saying "morning. How long have you been there?" All Might felt her forehead before speaking "not long. You look better." Ani sat up and stretched out. Nagisa came walking in yawning before saying "hey how are you feeling Ani?" All Might got up so that Ani could get up and get ready for school. Ani smiled and said "I feel better." Ani went to her room to get changed for school. After a few minutes she came back into the living room ready to go to school. Ani and Nagisa left for school. As they walked Deku came running up to them. Deku looked at Ani smiling while saying "You look better." Ani smiled saying "Yeah I got some good sleep last night." Deku continued talking " you definitely looked really bad during school yesterday." Nagisa looked at Ani before saying "yeah she had a fever when her dad and I found her." Deku's mouth dropped open before he started screaming "what?! You said you were ok though!" Ani looked down before saying "yeah well I guess the fever wasn't bad until I was walking home. I'm sorry Deku." Deku shook his head before speaking "don't worry about it. The good thing is that you're better."
Ani smiled before saying "isn't today the Sports Festival?" Nagisa and Deku both bugged out. Ani laughed before calming them down and giving them a good pep talk to get them fired up. When they got to the school they were told to go get changed into their training uniforms and head to the arena. Once they got to the arena they were shown where the rest of their classmates were along with all the other hero course students. Ani, Deku and Nagisa were shocked at how many other students there were. After a while of waiting they started moving to the entrance into the arena. They emerged from the tunnel into the arena where there was cheering and applauding they all walked up to the stage where a big TV screen was. In front of the screen was a female with long black hair wearing a spandex suit. Sero started speaking "the announcer for this year's festival is the R-rated hero Midnight!" "Is that suit even allowed?" Kaminari asked while he watched. Ani spoke not certain on how she could be allowed to wear it "I guess she is allowed if she is wearing it." Midnight started speaking "Alright you guys ready to sweat blood and tears?"
There was complete silence as Ani thought how does that make sense? Midnight spoke again "alright no one got my joke anyway let's hear from our guest representative Katsuki Bakugou!" Bakugou stepped up onto the stage. Ani and the rest of class 1-A starred anxious on what he was going to say. Bakugou took a breath and said "all I want to say is that I'm going to win." Everyone started screaming and yelling. All of class 1-A screamed "I knew he would say something like that!" Iida ran up shouting at Bakugou as he stepped off the stage. Bakugou walked by Deku bumping him as Deku gave a look of understanding on what Bakugou just did. Nagisa looked at Ani. Ani sighed before saying "Great we just became targets." Midnight got back up on stage and said "Alright let's see what you first round is going to be." The screen turned on and words started flipping by like a spinning wheel. After a few seconds it stopped and the first round was going to be an Obstacle Course. Midnight spoked "Alrighty it's a race!" Present Mic sounded over the speakers explaining how the race was going to work. Midnight told everyone to get to the starting point and wait for her signal. Ani got ready watching as the lights counted down to zero. Once it counted to zero Midnight yeled "and begin!" Everyone started running into the narrow opening that led to the outside. Ani grabbed Nagisa, tossing him up into the air before jumping up herself narrowly avoiding ice that started forming. Nagisa landed outside on the ice and took his time so that he wouldn't fall on the now frozen ground. Ani landed outside and started to slip and slide to go forward. Ani saw that a lot of people made it through as others behind her as she got out of the entrance got frozen in place. Ani caught up and saw that their first obstacle was the zero point robots from the entrance exam.
Ani pushed through getting by the robots. All Might was watching with the rest of the pro heroes. Sniper started talking "Some of the students never took the entrance exams." Thirteen spoke next "yeah but a good bunch of them did and passed." more of class 1-A got passed the robots. In the booth Present Mic was commenting on how class 1-A wasn't hesitating on attacking the robots. Mr. Aizawa explained that they were attacked and learned that it's no good to hesitate when you are facing a villain. Ani kept focused as she ran. Nagisa saw that Ani was a head of him. All Might tightened his fists as he watched come on Midoriya and my girl give it all you got! Ani arrived at the second obstacle and saw Iida boosting across the wire while trying to stay balanced. Ani started walking carefully across making sure not to look down. Ani made it halfway through thinking they definitely didn't make these obstacles easy. Ani continued on as fast as she could and made it hoping Nagisa made it through better than she did.
Nagisa made it past the second obstacle but was breathing heavily. He started running to catch back up to Ani. Ani arrived at the third obstacle and noticed everyone was watching where they stepped. She could see Todoroki and Bakugou going at each other while trying to watch where they stepped. Ani looked and saw Deku digging up what was under the mounds of dirt. Ani got an idea and found a stick and started to dig around the mounds to try to remove the mines. how did they get approval to use landmines? She thought as she carefully dug around them. Deku looked and saw what Ani was doing. Before long Ani brought the mines that she was able to successfully uncover and remove without setting them off over to Deku's pile. All Might watched wondering what the two were going to do with the landmines. After a few minutes Deku and Ani launched themselves while on the metal piece of root onto the pile of landmines they created.
A big explosion happened causing everyone to stop to see what happened. After a few seconds Deku and Ani came rocketing out of the smoke heading right towards Bakugou and Todoroki. All Might threw his hands up screaming "Yup!" Present Mic went nuts on commentating on what was going on. Ani felt them losing speed as she saw Todoroki and Bakugou give chase. Ani looked at Deku before saying "now what?" Deku looked at her while asking "how good is your tuck and roll?" Ani knew he had something crazy in mind. She said "good enough." Deku nodded before grabbing the wire and swinging the metal forward. Before the metal hit the ground where there were a bunch of landmines he said to Ani "Win this!" The metal hit the ground causing another massive explosion propelling Ani forward. Ani rolled quickly getting up and started running as fast as she could. Todoroki and Bakugou shot out of the smoke to give chase. Deku ran out of the smoke hoping that Ani gets first place. All Might watches as Present mic said "there you have it Eraserhead is a terrible teacher!" Mr. Aizawa said "I'm what?!" All Might watched as Ani came running in first. After a while Present Mic said "The first place winner is class 1-A's Ani Yagi!"
Ani starred in awe at what took place before screaming and jumping in happiness. Ani turned and looked to find her dad sitting with the pro heroes clapping and smiling. I did it dad! she thought as she turned and walked to Deku who came in 4th. She looked at him before saying "you could have come in first you know." Deku shook his head before saying "I know All Might wanted me to show off but you need to be in the spotlight." Ani knew what Deku was talking about. Ani got hugged from behind before hearing a familiar voice "that was insane!" Ani turned looking into Nagisa's eyes. Ani smiled while rubbing the back of head while saying "it was Deku's idea I just helped out a bit is all." Nagisa smiled at her surprised they worked together when everyone was against each other.
