Later that evening, Storm was cuddled up with her mother on the couch. Scully was holding her child close as she chatted with their guests. Mulder was sitting with his wife as he watched Monica and Scott.
"Mama," Storm whined unhappily. Scully kissed her daughter gently and rubbed her back. The toddler rubbed her eyes and yawned. Mulder looked at his wife.
"Dana, I think it's bedtime," Mulder spoke softly. Scully looked down at her daughter and smiled. Storm was falling asleep as she held onto her mother. The older woman gently kissed her daughter and stood up.
"Excuse me for a few moments," Scully spoke softly as she rocked her child. Storm snuggled into her mother again happily. Monica smiled at Scully and stood up as well.
"May I help you?" Monica asked softly. Scully looked at her husband to see his reaction. Mulder ignored his wife and continued to talk to Scott. Scully nodded.
"Sure. Um, follow me," Scully replied. Monica smiled as she followed Scully up to Storm's bedroom. The toddler cried unhappily when she realized Monica was following them.
"Hey you're fine. It's bedtime sweetheart," Scully spoke softly as she walked into her daughter's bedroom. The toddler whined again as her mother laid her on her changing table. Storm kicked at her mother.
"Hey, knock that off," Scully scolded her daughter as she changed her. The toddler pouted as Scully put clean pajamas on her. The older woman finished dressing her daughter and picked her up.
"Mama," Storm mumbled into her mother's hair as Scully carried her over to the bed. The toddler tightened her grip on her mother and tried to snuggle.
"Night night sweetheart," Scully spoke softly as she tried to lay her daughter in her bed. Storm cried unhappily and rubbed her eyes. Monica smiled and approached Scully with a book.
"Does she want a bedtime story?" Monica asked softly. Scully smiled at the other woman and took the book from her. The toddler rolled away from her mother and faced the wall when she realized Monica was still there.
"Sweetheart, do you want me to read to you?" Scully asked her daughter softly. Storm ignored her mother and closed her eyes pretending to try to sleep. Monica smiled at Scully.
"Aww she's exhausted," Monica smiled at Scully. Scully returned the smile and kissed her daughter gently before leaving the bedroom with her guest. As Scully left Storm opened her eyes and pouted.
About an hour later the toddler slowly got up from her bed and left her room. Storm listened to see if her parents were still downstairs and wandered into their bedroom. When Storm got into her parents room, she looked around for something particular.
The toddler mumbled happily when she found one of her mother's sweaters, and her blanket. Storm pulled them off the bed and took them back to her bedroom. The young child placed her mother's stuff in her bed and laid down.
Storm tried to put her mother's sweater on her, then laid down. The toddler mumbled happily as she tried to cover herself with the blanket and yawned. Soon Storm settled down as she hugged her fox close to her and fell asleep soon after.
"Alright. Thank you for having us over for dinner. We really enjoyed it," Monica smiled at Mulder and Scully a couple hours later. Scully looked up at her husband and smiled. Mulder nodded. Scully got up and walked their guests to the door as Mulder walked up to his daughter's bedroom to check on her.
"Aww Storm," Mulder spoke softly as he entered his daughter's room. The older man walked over to his daughter's bed, took his wife's sweater off the child, then picked her up. The toddler cried and rubbed her eyes as she was woken up.
"Shh shh. Daddy has you, it's okay," Mulder spoke softly as he carried his child over to her changing table. Storm quickly hugged onto her father and cried. The older man kissed his daughter before he laid her on the table and changed her.
"Stormy, it's okay. You are fine," Mulder smiled as he picked his child up and held her close. Storm cried and cuddled into her father the best she could wanting attention. Mulder kissed his child, grabbed her stuffed fox, and took her to his bedroom.
"Dada," Storm whined as Mulder set her on the bed. The older man smiled and brushed his daughter's hair out of her eyes. The toddler whined again.
"You are fine sweetheart," Mulder spoke softly as he quickly changed into his pajamas. As he was pulling his shirt on, Scully walked into the bedroom.
"Hey Dana," Mulder grinned at his wife. The woman smiled at her husband and looked down at their child. The toddler was still crying softly. Mulder smiled at his wife as he climbed into bed.
"Dada!" Storm cried out as Mulder laid down. The older man chuckled as Scully changed into her pajamas as well.
"You are fine Stormy, we're both right here," Scully spoke softly as she climbed into bed. Storm rubbed her eyes as she looked up at her mother. Scully was looking around for her extra blanket.
"Mmm Storm has your blanket and one of your sweaters in her bed," Mulder gave out a soft laugh. Scully smiled and looked down at Storm. The toddler whined and yawned.
"Come here sweetheart," Scully spoke softly as she pulled her daughter into her arms and laid down. The toddler quickly grabbed onto Scully wanting more attention.
"Night night Storm," Mulder smiled as he handed his daughter her fox. The toddler hugged her toy close to her and slowly dozed off. The older woman smiled at her husband.
"I love you Fox. Thank you for everything tonight," Scully smiled at her husband. Mulder smiled and snuggled his wife happily. The older woman felt herself fill up with joy as her husband gave her attention. Mulder kissed his wife gently.

A few hours later a loud bang woke the family up. Mulder quickly left the bed and ran downstairs while Scully was trying to comfort her crying daughter. The older woman was hugging her daughter close and tried to give her, her fox.
"Shh. It's okay Stormy," Scully spoke softly and sang to her trying to calm her down. The toddler pushed on her mother extremely upset. The older woman tried to rock her child as she showed her affection.
"I didn't see anything," Mulder spoke as he walked back into the bedroom. Scully tried to smile at her husband, but quickly turned her attention back to her daughter. When Mulder saw how upset his daughter was, he smiled at her.
"Hey Stormy, do you want a bottle?" Mulder asked softly. The toddler rubbed her eyes and looked up at her father. The older man knelt down next to the bed. Storm nodded and reached for her father. Mulder smiled and took his daughter from his wife. Scully smiled and got out of bed herself.
As the family walked downstairs, Storm mumbled as her father rubbed her back. Storm mumbled happily as her father comforted her. Scully looked up at her husband and rubbed his shoulder. Mulder kissed his daughter gently as he looked around.
"What time is it?" Mulder mumbled as he saw the sun rising outside. The toddler whined and rubbed her eyes. Scully glanced up at the clock and smiled.
"It's a little past six in the morning," Scully explained. Mulder grumbled softly and walked to the kitchen. The older woman smiled knowing her husband wanted to go back to sleep.
"Dada milk," Storm whined as she grabbed onto her father. Mulder shushed his child and got a bottle out of the cupboard. Scully smiled at her husband and helped make the bottle.
"Thanks Dana," Mulder yawned as he held his child close. The toddler mumbled happily as her father held her. The older man kissed his daughter and yawned.

"You knock your behavior off or I'll take your bottle," Mulder scolded. Storm whined and hugged her father. The older man smiled at his child. Scully tried to give Storm the bottle again. The toddler refused her bottle again.
"I'm going back to bed," Mulder grumbled as he handed his daughter to his wife. Storm whined unhappily as she hugged onto her mother. Scully stood there as she watched her husband leave the room.
"Daddy," Storm mumbled unhappily as her father left. Scully kissed on her daughter as she tried to give her daughter the bottle. Storm grabbed onto the bottle and drank it.
"Can we go lay down with Daddy sweetheart?" Scully asked hopefully. Storm nodded and rubbed her eyes. Scully kissed her daughter happily as she went back upstairs.
"Hey hun," Scully spoke softly as she entered the bedroom. Mulder was facing the wall ignoring his wife. Storm mumbled sadly at her mother. The older woman shushed her child and climbed into bed.
"I love you Mulder," Scully spoke softly as she got her child to lay down on the bed. Mulder rolled over, looked at his wife and smiled. The older woman smiled and cuddled up to her husband.
