Kensi's first day back.

She steps into the bullpen for the first time in 6 weeks. It was a difficult morning to say the least. Marty had been used to leaving for work, but today was the day she'd been dreading. Saying goodbye to her baby boy for the first time since he was born was one of the most difficult things she's ever experienced.

The brunette thinks back to her husband having to pry her away from the house, assuring her that their boy was safe with her parents. She checks her phone just incase she missed an emergency call or message. The agent's so distracted that she does't feel her partner come up next to her as she places her things on her desk.

"He's gonna be fine." Talia whisper's, knowing exactly what has her partner so distracted.

"You're right."

"Come meet the new guys."

Kensi follows Talia over to the kitchenette where the two men reside. They're having a casual conversation, at least that's what she thinks. Talia had told her about their boss' new hire and finally finding the pair to complete their field team last week. All she was told was that one of the guys was an ex-Navy SEAL and the other was once a spook. "Guys, this is my partner, Kensi."

The man with a buzz cut extends his hand. "Hi, I'm Callen."

"Hi, nice to meet you.'

"Like wise."

His partner, the SEAL obviously, offers his hand next. "Sam."

"Welcome aboard."

The two brunettes get their own cups of coffee, making small talk. "Talia told us you had a brief stay in the hospital." Sam states.

Kensi nods. Even though a lot of people including Talia are fine with people knowing they're in relationships, the new mom and her husband decided it was still a good idea to keep their life private, especially with their baby now in the world. Of course Talia knew but other than her and their boss, Kensi was able to hide her bump before she had Finn. "Yeah, very brief. It was actually more relieving to heal at home than in some uncomfortable hospital bed."

"I know that feeling."

The SEAL huffs and laugh, shaking his head. "I think we all do."

Just before anything else can be said, their boss makes herself known, shadowed by a pixie red head. "Ladies and Gentlemen…we have a case."

It had been a very long day. Longer than she remembers it ever being before, but finally at 7 o'clock she walks through the front door and immediately heads over bassinet perched on its living room stand. Her hands find his tiny waist, his tiny hazel eyes and a toothless smile light up his face, as she picks him up. "Oooh, there's my sweet boy." Peppering his cheeks with kisses, the almost two month old coos. "Mama missed you. Yes, she did."

"What am I chopped liver?"

She turns around and is met with the puppy eyes that so clearly belong to her husband. "I missed you too, baby."

Marty flashes her a larger version of the smile across their boy's face and throws the dish towel over his shoulder, as he meanders his way over her placing a kiss to her lips. "That's what I thought."

"Did mom say how he acted today?" She turns, as he walks back into the kitchen to check on dinner.

"Yeah, she said she found him chain smoking and sipping on some of your dad's whiskey after his nap." He looks over his shoulder, flashing her a cheeky grin.

"You're daddy's silly. Yes, he is."

"How was your first day back?"

"Pretty good. I met my new teammates."

"Oh?"

"Yeah, one of them was a Navy SEAL and the other was in the CIA."

"Wow, so you guys are like the Avengers."

She sends him a barely there smile. Sam and Callen are great from what she can tell its just..different. "Not, exactly."

"What, you don't like them?"

"They're okay." She shrugs and walks a few more feet into the open kitchen with Finn cradled in her arms, his little eyes staying glued to his daddy's movements.

"Oh, I know what this is."

"You know what what is?" Her brow furrows questioningly.

"You're so used to it just being you and Talia and you don't want that messing anything up."

"Yeah, maybe."

Shutting the oven door, he walks up to her, his arms finding their place around her waist. "There is one good thing though."

The playful spark clear in his eyes, now mirroring in hers. "What's that?"

"We have to up our game in coming up with ways to make you look like the single party girl again."

Her lips find his once again, and can't help but feel eyes on them. She pulls back, Marty's brow furrowed at her sudden retreat when they both look down a set of hazel eyes shining back at them as a laugh erupts from his tiny body. His first laugh. "Lucky us."
