Hello gang! NiteOwl18 is back with chapter nine of Muskoka High: Plus Ultra! Thanksgiving is coming up soon, but with the second wave of Covid-19 coming, it's going to be a not so happy holiday. No one can go to their other families home to spend Thanksgiving. I don't know what's gonna happen when Thanksgiving arrives as well as Christmas. Not many of my relatives can't come to our house. Please enjoy the chapter.
Chapter 9: Prologue to The Rematch
On a Tuesday morning, Cody trusts his arm in the air and utters "Damn it!"
The chestnut boy stared at the piece of paper that was placed on a thumbtack. He couldn't make a perfect hole like his Uncle Drake had shown him the day he and Izuku visited him. Like Uncle Drake mentioned, the tech geek is allowed to come back every Friday after school and weekends for training. Izuku went along with the ride. He still hasn't gotten through the Ippon Ken technique like he was trying to do right now. Every morning he gets up one hour early before his parents wake up to practice the technique.
"Uncle Drake made it look easy. I can send Scott to the hospital with internal injuries, but I can't make a hole," Cody complained, furrowing his eyebrows. He was feeling a little sweaty. Feeling the need to scream, he calmed himself to not to alert his parents. "Let's try again," He pulled his right arm back and stretched his hand into a finger gun gesture.
Before he could make a hole (at least), three knocks came from his door.
"Cody, are you up? It's time for breakfast."
That was his mom. The tech geek panicked and ripped the paper off the wall. The paper crumbles into a ball and throws it into the wastebasket. The door opened to let Andrea step into her son's room. To her confusion, she saw Cody sitting on his mattress and sweaty like a pig while panting heavily.
"Morning mom," Cody greeted awkwardly. Andrea stood in silence as she looked at her son's behavior.
"Cody, were you spanking the monkey?" She asked, causing Cody to be very embarrassed.
"Mom! No! I was doing some exercise for my hero course!" Cody defended and told a half-bake lie.
Now she was embarrassed. Andrea nods her head and cheeky grin. "My bad, sweetie. Come to breakfast before it gets cold," She said, marching out of the door. Cody groaned more, and put both hands in his face.
Cody, now dressed up, joined his parents at breakfast. Cody put a small piece of chocolate chip pancakes into his mouth; his teal eyes caught the sight of his mother's guilty grin. This made the tech boy/ hero-in-training to roll his eyes with some embarrassment he had left.
"Cody," Stan spoke after clearing his throat. "Your mother told me you were up this morning."
"I was doing some exercise, dad," Cody responded back. Stan kept looking at his son with an indifferent look. A mild blush appeared on the teenager's face. "Whatever mom told you, I was NOT doing that!" He raised his voice at the mid-thirties man.
"I'm not judging; it's only natural. Though you could've locked the door whether you were doing it or not," Stan added. Cody resists to groan at his dad's advice of having a moment of privacy to himself.
"Keep eating before it gets cold, dear," Andrea told her son. At what occurred right now and back at the bathroom, Cody wasn't in the mood of eating the rest of his pancakes.
The rest of the day went on for the young hero-in-training and his friends who are training to become the first pro heroes in the future. Izuku's class went smoothly with no setbacks. After the mock battles that took place a week ago, the class is on focusing well as his green haired friend hoped. They're really on board in becoming heroes instead of using their quirks for their entertainment. Well, not all of them. Private videos and destruction left behind begin to resurface more, and Chris Mclean's show is getting more ratings. If this keeps up, Izuku would kick them out of class just like Duncan and Gwen.
Cody stopped to tie his shoes while his friends and Izuku went to lunch. His left shoe is tied, and he resumes walking. His teal eyes caught a glimpse of Gwen walking past him with a sour frown. He didn't have Dawn's quirk to know what Gwen was feeling. She was kicked out of Izuku's class when her boyfriend nearly killed his friend during the mock battles. Izuku said she was going to study hall for now on, and Duncan was kicked out of class and school for good.
Seeing the goth that he used to admire brought a reminder to the tech geek's ridiculous attempts to move in on Gwen. Gwen ended up slapping him on the face, kicked him in the groin, and even went far to scare him with her Bat quirk. Cody sighed bitterly, and his expression went firm. Even if Gwen deserved to be kicked out of Izuku's class, a part of him could've felt sorry for her. Not wanting to be late, Cody moves forward for lunch.
The tech boy wasn't in a mood in eating his food. His mind wandered back to his bedroom as he failed to do the Ippon Ken technique. He still stuck in the first step his uncle dubbed 'Baby Steps'. At this rate, Cody is never going to advance further to his goal to become stronger.
"Cody, you barely touch your food," The tech geek blinked his eyes to stare at Dawn looking at him with concern. He faced the rest of his friends and Izuku.
"My bad, Dawn. Just been thinking lately," Cody said, eating a piece of enchiladas.
"About what?" Cameron asked.
Cody quickly thinks of an answer to avoid suspicion, or Dawn using her Empathy quirk. "The fact that Duncan and Gwen aren't in Izuku's class anymore," He lied.
"Still, shorty? Give it a rest. Duncan's not coming back to school. And Gwen is kicked out of Izuku's class," Leshawna answers.
"I passed her while I was done tying my shoes," Cody explained he saw his ex-crush in the hallways. "She looks down."
"Probably she doesn't have her murderous boyfriend in her wicked arms," Sierra huffed, she's feeling satisfied Gwen wasn't in the hero course. "Now she's spending her free time in study hall."
"I feel sorry for Gwen-"
"Sorry? She didn't stop her boyfriend from killing Sam!" Zoey raises her voice, something the sweet and kind red haired girl would often never do. The video game addict is done recovering from his injuries; Sam frowned at the mention of Duncan.
"Don't feel sorry for your ex-friend, Cody. She made her bed when she locked lips with a living volcano," Jasmine advised her friend. Izuku pauses, eating his food to stare at the tall Australian girl.
"You guys never told me what's the deal between Gwen and Duncan," Izuku brought up the topic that's been on his head since he hung out with Cody and his friends. "And Courtney," He also mentioned the student vice president.
"You're in for a real story, Izuku," Sierra stated. "It started two years ago when Courtney was dating Duncan Myers. That was a shock to all of us. But I know there was a spark. Courtney is the usual perfectionist Type A role model, and Duncan is the opposite. There's been some backlash from the two. Arguing outside of school and causing a scene. They weren't like Geoff and Bridgette before they, too, break off. And those two were such a perfect couple, but overrated. To Duncan and Courtney, it was like a bridge that was built on cheap materials. Next the drama happened. Duncan begins to ignore Courntey from their dates. Gwen was acting weird; this was when she was one of us."
"I sensed she did something awful, but she holds no regret," Dawn added. "She even wouldn't tell us what was wrong."
"After Courtney was fed up with Duncan not showing up on their dates, she found him kissing Gwen in the school closet," Sierra revealed, surprising Izuku. The green haired friend didn't see Cody flinching at the part.
"When the whole school found out, it was a riot. Courtney fought Gwen and Duncan! We were shocked that Gwen would stand so low in kissing another guy!" Sierra raises her voice. She stopped herself to calm down from blowing up. She resumed talking in her normal voice, "We ask her why she would do this, and Gwen just yells at us to mind our business!"
"Not even Cody tried slapping sense into her, and she used her quirk to scare him!" Owen added, unknowingly, made Cody to lower his head in shame. The happy-go-lucky fellow saw this and quickly said 'sorry' before Izzy slapped him across the head. "D'ahh!"
"I'm sorry this happened to you all, and you Cody-san," Izuku said, feeling sorry for the group of friends. Dawn senses Cody's aura blue and pat his arm in pity.
"Gwen was seduced by the biggest jerk in school, and she's part of his gang," Harold lamented.
"She doesn't care if we get harassed, pranked on, and our asses kick. She pretends we don't exist," Cameron sighed sadly.
"To think Gwen would want to be part of the in crowd. She said she doesn't care about social hierarchy, and she ended up being Duncan and betraying her friend," Sam added.
"If I'm honest, Gwen doesn't deserve to have amazing friends like you," Izuku commented. "You guys have this bond like the ones I have back in U.A. You don't let anyone talk you down because you're different. You trust each other just like you held on to your dreams on becoming pro heroes," Cody and the gang smiled back in response to their new friend/ teacher.
"Aww, ain't you sweet, suga?" Leshawna cooed, wrapping her arms around to hug Izuku. The green haired cinnamon roll's face turned red to feel her bouchy and swishy bosom. This bought some laughs and giggles from the gang. Zoey laughs along, with eyes closed to repress some uncomfortable feelings that are built up in her chest.
"T-Thanks Leshawna," Izuku mumbled from the bootylicious sista's breast. Leshawna let him go with a tease grin.
"Say Izuku, mind telling us about your friends back at U.A," Zoey asked, her feelings that are stering up to die down. Izuku smiles, and processes to tell them more of his tales at the famous hero school in Japan. What they didn't see was another group of friends staring at them from across the table. Among the group was a certain redneck glaring at the tech geek.
"That damn nerd!" Scott growled, breaking his spoon with his hand. Rage surfed around the teenger's mind at the thought of one of the weakest students to defeat him. No one wants to deal with Scott of his humiliating defeat, or the bandages wrapped around his stomach. Ever since Cody defeated Scott in the final mock battle, the country redneck ended up getting serious injuries from that cheap stun Cody pulled. A hurricane blasted out both Cody's hands causing his ribs to break and damage internal organs. Scott was left in the hospital for a week, and when he got out, the doctors told him he's going to feel intense pain every hour that requires Scott to only eat liquid-like food until he fully recovers.
"Make you mad, huh Scott?" Scott turns to see Mal looking in front of him. Like his fellow tormentor, Mal got bandages around his forehead, right arm, and part of his torso thanks to his fight with Alejandro.
"That nerd cheated; he pulled a cheap trick out of his sleeves!" Scott growls, then gasps when feeling his ribs hurt.
"Scott, take it easy! The doctor said you need to take it easy!" Sugar scolded him a little, handling him another spoon after Scott broke one.
"It's all Greenie's fault," Jo spat, seeing Izuku laughing at what she thought was a joke. But she doesn't care. "We were just fine using our quirks to mess with people, and then he showed up to change us!"
"And it was thanks to him we lost two members. One who isn't allowed back in class, and the other stuck at study hall," Max points out, holding two fingers to represent Duncan and Gwen.
"Somebody should do something to those insects, especially to that pervert!" Amy glared at Cody's friends.
"Not unless we all want to end up like Dumb-can and Gwennie," Jo rolled her eyes at the cheerleader.
"What's your plan, second leader," Lightning asked Mal. Mal said nothing except to glare back at the arrogant football player. He's still moody at his fight against the casanova diablo. But his silence says it all. It didn't help Scott to ease up in anger against the tech geek. The country redneck wants to get back at Cody for putting him in the hospital. He continued glaring at Cody until the tech geek caught sight at it. It made Cody extremely nervous from the vicious glare of Scott. He hasn't forgotten their mock battle and how Cody won at the last minute. Scott made a cut-throat gesture with his finger (with Razor Sharp quirk). Scott grabs the spoon Sugar gave him and continues eating his soup; his glare at his enemy never left.
When lunch was over, Cody told his friends he'll catch up to them after he goes to the bathroom. Entering the men's restroom, Cody begins his business in one of the urinals. He sighed in a relaxed way.
"Gotta cut down on that orange juice," He muttered, then lay out a melodic whistle. He then noticed he wasn't doing peeing. Amused, Cody chuckled to himself, "Man, I really drank today."
But as Cody was soon finished and before he knew it, someone sneaked up behind him and wrapped his neck in a stronghold. This got an unexpected surprise and bewilderment reaction out of Cody, right as the voice he didn't want to encounter spoke.
"Howdy, howdy, Air Nerd. That's an impressive package you got there!"
Quickly turning around, the scared geek saw it was none other than Scott, who had an evil teasing smile on his face. Cody couldn't help but tremble in fear to encounter one of his feared enemies. It quickly changed when the evil country boy began clinging on to him while continuing to tease and mock him.
"Come on, it's a compliment!"
No longer in fear, Cody became both angry and embarrassed as he struggled to get Scott off him. He pushed Scott with one of his hands, which resulted in Scott being amused.
"Easy pal, I just wanted to talk," He grinned. Cody pulled his member back in his underwear and zipped his pants.
"What the hell is your problem?!" Cody shouted, only for Scott to laugh more and shake his head in more amusement.
"Hehhehe, my problem? Isn't that obvious, Air Nerd?" The country boy's amuse crude smile vanished quickly to replace into a look of murderous rage. The sight of it made Cody trembling in fear. "You'r my fuckin' problem, you pahtic little nerd!" He spat. Before Cody can do anything to react ahead of time, Scott brutally kicks Cody in the stomach. The force of it sends the tech geek's body to slam against the wall that leads cracks. As Cody holded his stomach in pain while coughing heavily, Scott then grabbed him at Cody's throat and slammed him against the wall.
"You didn't think I forgot about that little shit you pulled while I was at the hospital?!" Scott yelled at his enemy. "That match was nothing but a fluke! You only lasted the full five minutes because your buddy was keeping time! I want my rematch! This time, we're handling it at an abandoned farm near my home," Then he lay out a nasty smirk. "Since I'm a nice guy, I'm going to give you four weeks! That's enough time for my injuries to recovery and you to prepare. The fight will take place on a Saturday," His hand clutch at his throat, and his voice dropping down in a venom. "If you don't show up, I'll make sure you spent the rest of your pathetic days in a hospital bed."
Cody struggles to respond to Scott's challenge as the country redneck grips his hand on the tech geek's throat more. If he didn't respond (or at least try to), Scott would use his Razor Sharp quirk to end his life. Luckily, help arrived when Izuku and the rest of Cody's male friends gang entered the restroom, with a furious Sierra behind him.
"I knew something was up when I saw you go into the restroom!" Sierra growled at the country boy holding her friend's neck.
"Scott, let him go!" Izuku ordered. "If you don't wanna face expulsion like Duncan, step away from Cody!"
The evil country boy didn't seem to be phased at Izuku's warning, and smiled arrogantly. His hand released Cody's neck, and faced the entire gang.
"We were just talking, sensei. No need to get your panties in a butch," Scott said. Cody rubbed his neck and glared at the back of the tormentor.
"I'll give you a piece of your mind if you don't leave!" Sierra hollar, wanting to beat the living daylights outta of Scott. Harold and Owen held her back. Scott didn't pay attention at the purple haired girl's theat and walked past the gang to exit the restroom. Before doing so, he made one last warning to Cody.
"Remember, Air Nerd...four weeks...at the abandoned farm on Saturday night. You better be ready!"
To prove his point in scaring Cody, Scott activated his Razor Sharp quirk with his right fingers turning thick deadly blade-forms. Before Izuku can react (or any of Cody's friends), Scott delivered an extremely fast slash to slice through the door of the men's restroom like it was made out of butter. Scott kicked one of the pieces as he laughed evilly.
"See you around, losers!" He mocked a goodbye to them. Izuku, Sierra and the rest of Cody's male friends glared at Scott while Cody couldn't contain the fear he was growing inside of him.
The school day was over, and Cody and his friends exited the building. He told Leshawna, Jasmine, Zoey, Izzy, and Dawn what happened back at the men's restroom. Izuku took Cody to the nurse's office to heal the bruised stomach Scott kicked. When Cody brought up the challenge issued by Scott, his friends had mixed reactions.
"And I thought you couldn't get enough fighting him," Noah remarked sarcastically. "Haven't you learned your lesson when Scott shish kabob you?"
"That fool is crazy to fight you, and you're crazier to accept a rematch!" Leshawna scolded a little at the tech geek.
"What was I supposed to do, Leshawna? Let him come after me and put me in the hospital for the worst injuries?" Cody argues back at the threat Scott made about refusing to show up.
"So you're not going to back down no matter what we tell you?" Harold frowned at Cody's stubbornness.
Before Cody could answer, he was met by a large car honk. Ahead of him was Heather in her Grey Mercedes with Dakota and Lindsay in the passenger seat. "Hey loser!" The asian teenager yelled, getting several student's attention. "I heard Scott challenged you for a rematch! You better be there! I already marked it on my phone!" She drove away from the scene. Now comes the mutter about a rematch between the two fighters.
"Perfect," Jasmine rolled her eyes.
"I'm doing this, guys," Cody is sticking to his final answer. His friends, except Izuku, aren't on board with it. "Don't worry guys. Everything is under control. I know someone who's helping me train to become better. It won't be like last time when I defeated Scott at the last minute. Scott wants a rematch, he's going to get a rematch," He finished his sentence with a determination glance. Cody's friends are in a mixture of shock and surprise, with Izuku smiling from behind as an approval for Cody to be trained by his Uncle Drake. Dawn senses her crush's aura glowing and smiles as well.
"Guess we can't talk you outta of it," Noah sighed, shaking his head at his friend's determined attitude.
"Mind telling us who that person is training you, Cody?" Owen asked, curious of the teacher his friend was seeing.
"My uncle," Cody answered.
"Your uncle? You never told us you had an uncle?" Cameron replied.
"I haven't seen him since I was a kid, Cameron. He's been living in a town called Philippe, in the middle of the woods," Cody answered in this shortest version. "My uncle is a great fighter; he's been helping me to become stronger."
"That's cool. How's that working out?" Zoey is amazed.
"I'm still struggling. Can't get past the baby steps," Cody muttered. This got some confused looks from the gang. "Blame my uncle's training regime; that's what he calls the first step. Anyways, my uncle told me I can go back to his place every Friday after school and during the weekends."
"These things take time to reach your potential goal. As Naruto said, 'there are no shortcuts'," Harold quoted from his manga, getting an eye roll out of Noah.
"You just have to believe you can do it!" Sam guffawed. "Think of Link from Legend of Zelda trying to overcome any obstacles!" Cody chuckled at both of his friend's advice and thanks. The tech geek saw his mother's car parked outside of the school and say his byes to his friends. After Cody was gone, it was Izzy who looked at Izuku.
"You're not going to put a stop to that rematch, Izuku?" The crazy red haired girl asked of the rematch.
"It's outside of the school, Izzy. I can't do anything about it. However, I'll be there to put a stop in case things go wrong," Izuku replied. He was a little frustrated he can't stop the fight outside of school property.
"You better, Izuku, cause of the way people are reacting to the rematch," Zoey said, glancing at a group of seniors on their phones texting of the fight between Cody and Scott in excitement. "It's going to be a bloodbath."
Three days went by, and the rematch between Cody and Scott was trending among the entire students at Muskoka High. They were excited to see the match ever since the mock battles that were held outside of school a week ago. The students were aware of the mock battles for students with quirks. Videos were posted of the fights made by several in Izuku's class. The most recent viewed video was the last fight between Cody and Scott. It came as a shock that Cody, despite being seriously wounded from Scott's deadly attacks, had won the fight at the last minute by blasting a hurricane out of his hands. It made some of their opinions changed around Cody's reputation while the rest are doubt he can become a hero. Sure, Cody gained acknowledgement from Izuku's class, but the rest of the students aren't too convinced. Like Duncan's gang, they were on board that it was fluke for Cody to win. Now Scott, driven with revenge, corners Cody in the restroom to demand a rematch that would take place in three weeks. Everyone was pumped up and can't wait.
The rest of Izuku's class also heard of the rematch between Cody and Scott. When asked if their teacher should put a stop to the fight, Izuku shook his head, saying it's taking place outside of school and he has no power. He will be there in case the fight goes overboard. As if things couldn't get more surprising, Duncan's gang promises not to harass any of Cody's friends before the fight. Several students of the hero class were told by Izuku to watch any signal being made by Duncan's gang if they step out of line. Ryan, Tyler, and Brick make sure Lightning and Jo don't beat up Cody's friends. However, none of them can't beat up the gang and Noah and Courtney can't stop the fight as well. That was a rule made by Mal, the second leader of Duncan's gang. Duncan's gang are thrilled to hear that Scott wants a rematch against the school pervert. They can't wait for their redneck friend to beat up the Air Nerd once and for all.
But Cody wasn't going to back down from the taunts and rumor mills. Scott said he wants a rematch, and the tech geek is going to deliver his request.
On Friday afternoon, Cody returned home from school and went to his room. He gathered a suitcase from his closet and put three sets of shirts, two pants, socks, and underwear in the empty case. He had called Izuku to meet him outside of his house to prepare to go see his uncle in Phillippe. He was going to spend the rest of the weekend at his house.
He closed his suitcase with a small grin, "Here I go, off to my training."
Cody marched down the stairs with the suitcase in hand. He came close to the door and, unfortunately, his parents entered the living room to see their son with the suitcase.
"Cody, what are you doing with that suitcase?" Stan asked, puzzled.
Cody mentally cursed himself of getting caught; he thought his parents were out of the house like always. He quickly came up with an excuse. "I'm heading to Izuku's place for a project Mr. Higgins from Social Studies granted us. It's going to take the rest of the weekend, and I'll be staying in his apartment," He said. The tech geek saw their puzzle expressions vanish.
"Just be careful, dear. Don't run into trouble," Andrea said with a warm smile She planted a kiss on Cody's cheek. The tech geek musters a grin, but on the inside he feels guilty for lying to them. Izuku honks his horn to snap Cody out of his guilty thoughts, and the tech geek says his byes to his parents.
Izuku and Cody returned back to Phillippe, and went to the woods to meet Drake outside of his house. Once they saw the man, Izuku turned around to leave his friend alone with his uncle/ teacher.
Drake stares at his nephew and asks, "You ready for the most hellish training in your life?"
With a deep breath, Cody answered "I'm ready!"
Cody started his training by going through the Ippon Ken technique. He failed to make a hole on a paper that was mounted on the wall in the training room the first time Cody and Izuku entered Drake's home. Drake, seeing his nephew still trying to master the move, walked to the tech geek.
"Focus, Cody! You gotta keep your focus on track!"
The words echo in Cody's mind. He clutch his left fist and take a few deep breaths. Cody redirected his arm forward and his index finger out. Then, came the sound of a paper ripping. Cody's teal eyes saw the freshly made hole at the center of the paper.
"Heh, I did it!" Cody exclaimed, lowering his arm down. Drake smirked as he crossed his arms in approval.
"Excellent, Cody. You finally mastered the technique. Which means you're ready for level two of the Baby Steps," He said. It took a toll at Cody's grin to find out there was even a level two of the first step. "The next level is learning how to fight for real. You're going to be learning Krav Maga."
Drake then explained to his puzzled nephew of the meaning of Krav Maga, "It's a military self-defense and fighting system developed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel security forces derived from a combination of technique sourced from aikido, boxing, wrestling, judo, and karate. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency. It was derived from the street-fighting experience of Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Lichtenfield who made use of his training as a boxer and wrestler while defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia during the mid-to-late 1930s. In the late 1940s, following his aliyah to Mandatory Palenstine, he began to provide lessons in combat training to what was to become the IDF. From the outset, the original concept of Krav Maga was to take the most simple and practical techniques of fighting styles from European boxing to wrestling to street-fighting to make them rapidly teachable to military conscripts. It's not all about the fighting; Krav Maga also has a philosophy emphasizing aggression, and simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers. It's been used by the Israel Defense Forces' special forces units, security forces, and regular infantry units. Closely related variations have been developed and adopted by Israeli law enforcement and intelligence organizations. There are several organizations teaching variations of Krav Maga addition. There are two styles of Krav Maga; one style is used in the Israeli security forces and while the other style is in civilian use."
Drake finished the story that left Cody in awed. The man chuckled at how easily his nephew was learning about a fighting style with a mysterious background. Drake added, "This part of the training is going to get tougher. You mastered the Ippon Ken, but you gotta fight back," He took out a small piece of paper from his pants and handed it to Cody. When Cody opened it, Drake said what was on the list, "This is the start of your exercise," Cody was blown away at the numerous workouts on the paper. "At the bottom, is your diet. You will follow the training regime as I coach you through the workout."
Cody folded the paper and looked at his uncle with a firm glace, "I won't let you down, Uncle Drake."
"Excellent."
Cody is running through the forest with his face turning very red and sweat pouring down his clothes. "Keep moving, Cody!" Drake barked at his nephew from behind. "Pick up the pace!"
The tech geek runs as his legs can go. But he can't due to the weights on his legs, stomach, and arms. All of them are 70 kg of weights. He's been running in these conditions for thirty minutes. His uncle told him to keep running for three hours.
Nearly collapsing from running, Cody rushed back to Drake's house as the man ordered him to do 10,000 Hindu squats. Cody's skinny body couldn't handle doing this kind of extreme workout. He can feel his bones ache from top to bottom. He wanted to rest, and his uncle did, in the form of a bridge position for one hour. Then Cody went on doing 3,000 push ups and finally climbing a rope to one of the highest trees in the woods.
When it was time for food, Cody went to the kitchin carefully without hurting his bones. There, his uncle prepared fresh meat, rice and vegetables. Drake presented to Cody what he thinks is his diet on a plate. Before Cody can lift his hand to eat, the plate is swift and all the food is dumped into a blender. Drake hit 'pureed' on the blender machine, and watched the food being shredded into a liquid-like drink. When done, Drake forces open Cody's mouth and dump all the liquid down into his throat. And when it was back to training (by redoing the running with weights workout), Cody's stomach couldn't handle the food that his uncle forced down into him and he vomited over and over again. He collapsed on the ground and stared at the afternoon skies with the bits of vomit on the corner of his mouth.
"This isn't training; it's hell!" Cody complained at his uncle's crazy workout. "Get ahold of yourself, Cody! You can't turn back now! You have to do this! Believe like Naruto and Link!"
At the end of the weekend, Drake called Izuku to have him pick up Cody to drive him back home. His first week of training level two wasn't much of an effort, but it was a start for Cody. The second weekend went a little much as Cody tried again on the workout. On the running workout, he would keep going despite his body shutting down from exhaustion. He breathed in and out during the Hindu squats and push-ups. The rope climbing was difficult as Cody almost failed. His hands are covered with rope burn and blisters. He mustered in the diet given to Drake without being forced to drink. He kept his stomach in check. The tech geek even practiced for a few hours late at night. The end of the second weekend gained some uplifting results for the young hero-in-training. His body went through an unbelievable transformation. He had gained a muscular build that was on the level of Izuku's muscles. His clothes would stretch to his new body. He couldn't be more proud of himself while Uncle Drake was impressed by how much Cody has improved during the short time in training.
When Cody resumed training during the third weekend, he was taught the strongest techniques of Krav Maga along with the basic moves. Drake also taught Cody the powerful strikes of boxing and karate, the take-downs and throws from judo, aikido, and wrestling, and followed by the incredible escape moves.
In Krav Maga, as Drake pointed out to Cody, there are no rules in this martial art style, and the only thing that mattered was to finish the fight quickly and aggressively as possible. Attacks are aimed at the most vulnerable parts of the body, and training is not limited to techniques to avoid severe injury; some even cause permanent injury or cause death to the opponent. That's why Cody learned how to attack by targeting the opponent's most vulnerable points as dose by a sandbag in his uncle's training room. By imagining the heavy sandbag as Scott, he delivered a barrage of punches. Izuku came by to watch his friend's progress in his training on Friday, the last week of Cody's training. Like Drake, he was impressed by how far Cody had come. It reminded Izuku of his workout with All-Might to gain One for All and Gran Torino's training as well.
The bag holding the tons of sand is starting to be ripped from the punches made by the tech geek. With a yell, he struck the bag with a powerful hook. It caused the bag to finally rip open the bag to let all the sand fall on the mat. Cody smiles as he stares at his hand. Both Drake and Izuku walked over to compliment the young tech geek.
"Well done, Cody," Drake patted him on the back with a proud grin. Izuku gave him a small nod to his friend to show his appreciation. "You completed the 'Baby Steps,'" Cody's grin grew wider as he was finally moved up from step one. "To celebrate you completing your first step, how about you and Izuku stay here for dinner?"
"We would like that, Uncle Drake," Cody said and Izuku nod his head again. Drake exits out of the training room with his nephew and friend following him.
Cody exits out of the cabin while Izuku helps Drake prepare the food. He took a fresh breath for the first time since his extreme training began. He was finally there, at last. Cody believed in himself to push to his goal to become stronger than his foes. It was an effort, but he pulled through from collapsing and vomited. Tomorrow was the day Cody is going to fight Scott again, and this time he's going to give it all he got instead of using a desperate move like in his mock battle. With a determined smile, he raises his right hand up tightly while thinking "Scott, you better be ready, cause tomorrow, I will show you how strong I have become and defeating you will be the first step of my first goals of surpassing Duncan and finally began my destiny as a pro hero!"
Next chapter is the rematch between Cody and Scott! The plot of chapter nine is credited to AustralianBeast17. I don't know when it's coming out, probably in December.
