Cerise-12
The twins- 4
A/N- this event takes place a week before the Wererat.
"Cece, can you pass me my doll?" Renee asked. Cerise did so. She was playing with her sister at a little tea party in the twins' room.
So Darling Renata...How are things in the land of school… Cerise typed in her translator
"School is same as always...Boring...but the only fun thing around here is lunch and recess…" Cerise smiled. She couldn't blame Renee. Then someone tugged at Cerise's green plaid shirt. She turned to see Auggie.
"Can you play with me Cece…" her brother asked
"She's playing with me…" Renee fought.
"But I want her to play with me" Auggie cried. He pulled at Cerise's right arm while Renee pulled on the left, causing a bit of a tug of war between the siblings. Then Cerise knew what to do. She stomped her foot twice which got her sibling's attention.
Why don't we go roller skating? Cerise typed. Then the twins looked at each other and smiled.
"Yeah let's go…" Auggie declared. Then Cerise began to hiss. She felt herself sinking a little.
"Are you okay Cece?" Renee asked.
Cerise nodded and decided to go to her room and grabbed her skates. She came back with them and they began to trek down the stairs. By the time Cerise reached the bottom of the stairs, she stopped and hissed painfully. Alfredo and Colette rushed to her
"Cerise...Are you okay?" Alfredo asked her. Then Auggie saw something on her pants
"Cece's bleeding…" Auggie pointed. He was right when the family saw blood rushing down her white jeans and her left leg.
"I'll take care of this...I'll be back" Colette took Cerise into her and Alfredo's room, leaving the others outside.
"Sit down here…." Colette sat Cerise in a chair and she brought her purse along.
I-I think this is my first time… Cerise typed on her translator. Colette turned to her.
"Well, You might've gotten yours a little later than most girls...They get it when they're 10 or 11...It's okay to be a late bloomer…" Colette handed her another pair of pants and a pad in her hand. Cerise gave her adoptive mother her thanks.
"I don't think your mother has taught you this...It's your menstrual...It's normal for girls your age... it means that you bleed for a week and it's for your eggs meaning your ready to have children…" Colette explained.
Cerise tilted her head. "It's a little tough to explain...Don't worry...When the time comes...Renee will have hers too and we both will explain…but you understand…"
Cerise nodded her head. Then her cramps kicked in again. It was like someone was squeezing her on the inside. It was so painful she had to close her eyes tightly
"Okay...You should get changed into your sweatpants and lie down...I'll tell the twins you don't feel well." Cerise nodded her head and went straight into her room. Colette came and gave her some heat, medicine and left her to rest.
The next morning, Colette decided to take Cerise out. She needed to go shopping for some fresh produce. She decided to teach Cerise what she taught Linguini. The girls' first stop was at a bakery to get some bread
"The way you can tell how good the bread is without tasting it is the sound of the crust. The symphony of crackle will bring great and that's how they sound this way…" Cerise smiled a little at this. They tested the bread at the bakery and the crackle indeed sounded like a symphony in an orchestra.
Then they went to the market to get fresh produce.
"The only way to get the best produce is the first pick of the day and there are two ways to get the first pick...grow it yourself...or bribing a grower...that's why La Ratatouille gets the first pick." Cerise was amazed.
When the girls came back to the apartment, Colette turned to her adoptive daughter who was carrying the groceries
"Would you like to learn a recipe?" Cerise nodded her head.
Thank you for the teaching Mother Cerise typed in her translator. Colette smiled.
"She's a fast learner like Linguini…" She thought. Then She saw Cerise about to put some of the food away, making way of what they were going to cook. Colette cleared her throat and pointed to her own hair. Cerise didn't notice that her hair was still down. Colette gestured Cerise to come with her.
"Long hair is a lot to deal with...Luckily your hair only past your shoulders...maybe a little toward the bust...the chest…" Colette said. She was brushing Cerise's hair back into a ponytail. "Your hair has grown significantly since you've been with us, Cheri...Was your maman's hair like this…"
Sometimes...She would only brush it back into a ponytail...She sometimes brushes my hair...not so much since my father cut it… Cerise typed. She had no idea how much her hair has grown. Once Colette was done, her hair was in a high ponytail with her bangs brushed to the side.
"Much better…" then Colette brushed away the bangs away from Cerise's face. "You have such a beautiful face…" Cerise blushed and looked down, grinning.
"Come along...tonight we make Salmon a la Gusteau…" Cerise followed her adoptive mother to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, the twins were napping with their snoring father in their parents' bed. Then Renee woke up, sniffing.
"What's that smell…" She yawned. Her brother and father woke up to the same delicious and alluring smell. The three walk downstairs to find Cerise and Colette cooking together along with Remy helping out and directing Cerise.
"Remember to keep your hands and arms in to minimize burns and cuts and keep your sleeves clean as you work…." Colette reminded Cerise, who did as she was told
"I remember that advice…" Colette turned to hear her husband walking towards them along with her twin children.
"What's for dinner Mommy?" Auggie asked.
"We are making Salmon a la Gusteau…" the twins looked at each other and licked their lips. "How's it coming Cerise…" Cerise gave her a thumbs up.
"Can we see Cece…" Renee tugged her pant leg.
"She cannot be bothered when she's cooking you two…" Colette shooed her twins away and check on the vegetables she was cooking. She turned off the burning stove and looked at the salmon Cerise was cooking. She smiled.
"The fish should be done, Cheri…" Cerise turned to her. "Take the twins and wash up for dinner" Cerise ushered the twins upstairs and towards the bathroom.
When they came back downstairs, the table was set and dinner was ready. Cerise even set up little plates for Remy and his pregnant Avalon. Once Alfredo took the first bite he beamed.
"This is really good…"
"This is Cerise's first time cooking with her mama eh…" Colette smiled as Cerise tasted the dish she and her adoptive mother made.
"Thank you Mommy and Cece for the fish…" Renee said.
Would anyone like some more… Cerise asked on her device
"Yes please…" the twins held their plates in the air, prompted Cerise to get more Salmon for them.
Later that night Cerise was reading in her room when a knock on the door was heard. She opened the door and found Colette right in front of the door.
"Can we talk?" She asked. Cerise nodded. They both sat on the bed as Cerise leaned in to listen.
"I know you and I are not related by blood and I know you miss your mother...But I want you to know that I love you...like a mother...I may not be a replacement but I am trying my best to be the best mother to you as I am with the twins…" Colette explained. Everything was silent between them. Then after a while, Cerise wrapped her arms around her adoptive mother for a fierce hug which Colette returned.
You already are the best mother to me...My mother would be happy I'm in good hands...I love you and father… Cerise typed on her translator. Colette smiled at this, knowing that Cerise loved her even though She isn't like her real mother.
A/N- THis is one of the chapters I establish the relationship between the mother and the daughter and this shows how Cerise and Colette bond. They have a good relationship but this is a chapter that shows it.
