10 It all goes to shit

(Kagome POV)

None of us moved from our position in the trees. This gave us the advantage of seeing the demons rather than them popping up underneath us. It was silent before the ground shook. The trees vibrated with the furious cries of the demons as they emerged from the soil. I immediately started shooting arrows at all that were within my range. Hina used her magic to control the roots of the trees. She ripped demons apart as they tried to surround our tree.

Koga was directing everyone towards our blind spots and where the demons were gathering, Sango and Shippo were on Kirara using Hiraikotsu and fox demon magic to distract the demons and take out as many as they could and Miroku was on stand by ready to use his wind tunnel in case the hoard became to much. We were waiting for the three demons with the Shikon shards to pop up. All was well until it wasn't.

Just then I noticed two presences approaching from different directions. And they were fast. The three demons that had shards chose that moment to spring from the earth surrounding us. I absentmindedly noted that one of the presences I had sensed was paused close by most likely watching.

"Lady Kagome my control is slipping remember what I taught you! It's all... about... your intent!" Hina yelped as she started to lose control of the roots.

They were slowing down. Some were even curling back into the dirt. I breathed in and grabbed three arrows.

"EVERYONE TAKE COVER!" I yelled before jumping upwards and using my magic to propel me skyward.

I arched backwards until I was upside down with all three arrows notched. I exhaled and let the arrows fly. I concentrated as I willed my magic to connect them like three points in a triangle. The triangle expanded the closer to the tree it got. I smirked as it was only a matter of seconds before the arrows hit their intended targets and this would all be-

"WIND SCAR!"

My eyes widened in horror at the familiar chant. I watched as the Wind Scar headed straight for the demons, the tree and my friends.

"SIT BOY! INUYASHA YOU IDIOT!" I screamed as I started falling while trying to create a barrier around them.

Suddenly a flash of white circled around the tree before dashing a safe distance away. I was meters above the ground when the back lash from the Wind Scar hitting the demons flung me backwards. I turned my body so I would roll on the dirt instead of skidding across it. I felt rocks and other things scrape my skin. I laid there for a second before sitting up to look at the tree. It was demolished. I stood up and looked to the left in the direction the white thing took off in. A group of people were standing there. My feet were already pounding the earth when my brain finally registered that it was my friends and Hina.

"Kagome!"

Several of them explained. We gathered in a group hug. My breaths were shaky as I took in the fact that they were alive. Of course, the moment was ruined by the sound of a slap. Everyone pulled back to see Miroku with a red mark on his cheek.

"Idiot," Koga sighed.

"Speaking of idiots," I growled as I turned to find InuYasha and rip him to shreds.

I was met with Hina standing next to Sesshomaru. The appearance of the presence and white blob came to mind.

"Oh- you saved them! Thank so much Lord Sesshomaru!" I said graciously.

The demon in question simply nodded. He turned to leave before pausing.

"Feh! There you all are! I defeated those demons AND got the shards! What are you doing here Sesshomaru?"

Seems the dumbass decided to make an appearance. I turned slowly to face him.

"He was saving everyone else," I responded slowly.

"Why? I could have easily done that!"

This boy-

"He was saving them from you," I said in the same tone as before.

He blinked as his faced screwed up in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"What do you mean?" Sango mocked with venom.

I smiled softly. "Do see that tree over there?"

"That's where the demons were. I hit it with my Wind Scar," He said cautiously.

"Good boy. Now listen closely to what I'm about to say," I whispered leaning towards him.

I waited for him to lean closer before yelling loud enough to hurt his ears.

"They were IN THAT VERY SAME GODDAMN TREE! AND YOU FIRED YOUR THE DAMN WIND SCAR AT THEM! YOU COULD HAVE KILLED THEM! THEY WOULD HAVE DIED!"

He paled drastically at that and curled in on himself.

"Where were you?" He asked accusingly.

"Oh now he cares about my location. I was in the goddamn sky! I had just fired three arrows with magic that would have wiped out all the demons WITHOUT hurting anybody! AND YOU ALMOST FUCKED EVERYTHING UP! CAN YOU EVEN JUSTIFY WHY THE FUCK YOU WEREN'T HERE?"

I paused to give him a moment to speak and catch my breath. There was no way in hell that I was finished with this verbal beatdown.

"I was with-I-well-you know-I-I-I had-"

"A-a-ah-shu-sh-shu-ba-buh-bah- oh now you can't speak. Honestly you disgust me. You weren't here because you were to busy fucking your clay bitch! It's no wonder Lord Sesshomaru dislikes you! You're a useless asshole who takes credit for shit that was a team effort and only cares about getting this damned Shikon jewel! I know I'd be ashamed to call you brother! You should be on your knees begging each and everyone one of them for forgiveness! You should thank your brother for saving them because if he hadn't, I would be killing you right now!"

With that I turned bowed to Sesshomaru who was smirking. I was about to storm off when we started floating.

"The hell is going on?"

"The island is falling," was Sesshomaru's reply.

"Oh," then my brain caught, and I looked around and realized we were indeed falling.

Welp Kagome snapped. This was originally the first chapter for this book that reached over 1k words.

Will everyone make it off the island alive? What was Sesshomaru doing on the island? How did Kikyo get up onto the island? What caused the island falling? Will the rift between InuYasha and the group ever repair?
