Kombat Komes to Beacon
Chap 12: From bad to worse
The base was on high alert. Everyone was on guard and taking their posts. The vehicles and weapons were being inspected so that they were ready for the fight that will take place soon. We also contacted every other Special Forces base to go on high alert and send every available troop they can spare to us. The reason being, we about to go to war again as the Dragon King Onaga has returned with his undefeatable army.
After fixing the hourglass, and bringing back Summer Rose, we headed to Outworld to make sure the hourglass did not revive the dragon king. Getting there, we saw that the temple where the army was supposed to be was missing. At first, we denied that they were missing. But we soon accepted the fact that they were revived when a portal opened up in the room, we were in. Out came Shinnok and Shao Kahn and we prepared for a tough fight. But were shocked when they fell dead to the ground with their heads rolling off. While the others don't know this, you can't easily kill an elder god which Shinnok was. That meant this was even more disturbing. A second later, out came Onaga from the portal with his army right behind him. Yang and Nora tried to attack him, ignoring my warning, only to be taken out with one hit. Luckily, I managed to open a portal and get everybody through it without anyone dying. The portal I made took us to the Special Forces main base. Once I knew we were safe, for the moment at least, Jax, Johhny and Sonya along with the others came up to us wondering what happened. But before I explained anything, I had Johhny take Nora and Yang to the infirmary to chech for any injuries. I also had Peach and Glynda go with them so as to be able to see about their aura and how is it doing. Once that was done, I had all of us go to the operations room so we can discuss everything. When we got there, all the other kombatants had arrived there and were waiting for me to explain what happened.
"So, what happened Jaune?" Ironwoods asked curious as to what caused us to land hard on the floor of the base from a portal.
"Well. First, it's best to tell you from the start of the mission." I told him.
"Very well." He agreed.
"Okay, first-" I started but was cut off by the door opening.
"Really going to start without me." Johhny said with a smile as he entered the room with Yang, Nora, Glynda and Peach following right behind him.
"Like I was saying, at first the mission went fine. Though we were ambushed by Sektor and his Cyber Lin Kuei soldiers. We managed to defeat them with me finally killing Sektor once and for all. As I turned around to check on the others, I was attacked by D'vorah. While I was not able to fight her as I lost consciousness, the other did managed to kill her. Freeing us from her betrayal and annoying voice that can really grind your ears. I woke up later on Kharon's ship on the way to Kronika's lair. Once there, we went down the island and entered her building. Once in, we saw the hourglass was in fact there but broken. And I actually mean broken. Luckily, Geras appeared in front of us. Apparently when the hourglass broke, it started to go out of control and started to make the portals that caused you to go to another time, and even messed up certain events in the past. With the help of Geras, and his sacrifice, we managed to fix it. So, no more messing with time and the portals that cause you to go to another time will no longer show. Then we made our way to the dragon kings temple in Outworld. We entered the place and saw the army gone. Then after a bit, a portal opened up and Shao Kahn and Shinnok appeared. Only to fall down dead a second later. Onaga then appeared behind them with his soldiers coming out as well. Upon seeing him, I had the other kombatants hold the army off while I created a portal to escape. Though Yang and Nora did try to attack Onaga at the same time only to fail as he backhanded them causing them to fly back to us. Upon seeing that, it made the others finally enter the portal I created. Me and the others soon followed after. And that's how the mission went." I finished telling retelling the mission.
"Okay. While we have solved the time crisis, we now need to figure out what to do about Onaga. We know he is extremely powerful on his own. And if he gets his hands on the kamidogu, then he would basically become unstoppable. Next is his army. His army can only be held off as he can constantly revive them which makes them an even bigger threat than they normally are." Sonya said as she laid out what our current problem is.
"Question. But is there any way we can go around his ability to revive his army? Like make it so that he is unable to raise his soldiers?" Ironwoods asked.
"Technically, if you destroy the soldiers and make sure there is nothing left but a red stain on the ground, then he can't revive them. But considering how many there are and how they fight, finding a chance to do that is incredibly slim." Raiden answered him.
"Then how was it the last times you all defeated him? I remember one of you guys saying that he was defeated a couple of times. Why not we do it like the last time?" Winter asked.
"There was only one time where he was actually defeated in battle. The other times were either not by battle or unknown and we just presumed he was defeated." I corrected her.
"How did you defeat him the last time then?" Weiss asked.
"We didn't. Shujinko did. And that was a narrow while some of us kept his army occupied while the others sought out the Kamidogu and destroyed them. Only then was Onaga weak enough that Shujinko was able to defeat him but it was still a difficult battle." Liu Kang answered her.
"How about the Kamidogu?" Peach asked.
"What about them Peach?" I asked.
"You said that they can give you a lot of power if you used magic on them. What if we were to use those to enhance of our powers so we are able to defeat him?" She asked. This caused a lot of tension to rise in the room.
"That is something we could do to even the battle field. But the only problem is, we risk accidently creating The One Being. And if that happens, it's game over." Jax said.
"But it's a risk we must take. Otherwise, we would be at a serious disadvantage." I countered but agreed with Jax. "Good job Peach." I said turning to her causing her to blush a bit and Pyrrha to growl a bit.
"Now we know what happened on Jaune's mission. But what about the rest of you? How did it go and are the kamidogu safe? Can we use them?" Sonya asked.
"Everything is secure Ms. Blade. I have also begun amassing my armies and other enforcers to prepare for the upcoming battle. The outworld kamidogu is also safe and in our possession as we figured we might need it." Kotal Kahn answered.
"Excellent." Sonya said before turning to the others.
"The Wu Shi Academy and Sky Temple are both secure. The Jinsei Chamber also remains pure and secure. I also have the monks preparing for the fight ahead." Raiden answered.
"The Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei clans are also secure. The kamidogu is also secured and in our possession." Scorpion added.
"Edenia is also secure. I also have my armies preparing for battle. I also had Kitana and Jade get the Kamidogu and secure it in the palace." Sindel stated.
"Looks like we have three of the six kamidogu already. That's good. We just need the other three and we will be set in that aspect. But we still need to strengthen our numbers. Kano, did you get what I asked for?" Sonya asked.
"Yup. Got my guys loading the trucks now. Just give the word and ill have them begin transport here." He said with a smirk.
"How many kingpins and criminals did you kill to get the weapons?" She asked.
"About thirty or so. Give or take." He answered.
"Good. Even less problems to deal with afterwards." She replied with.
"How should we go about getting the other relics? Not to mention, where are they?" Summer asked.
"The remaining three are in the other realms. ChaosRealm, OrderRealm and the NetherRealm. Luckily the NetherRealm one is easy to find is usually left alone. ChaosRealm has its heavily guarded normally, but we know its ruler and we can call in a favor to not only get it but also have its support. The only one we would have trouble with is OrderRealm." I answered her.
"Really? OrderRealm and ChaosRealm. Such dumb names." Yang said.
"Technically, they are more nicknames given to them. Their real names are different. OrderRealm's real name is Seido. It was given the nickname as the realm is all about order. Any deviation from it is punishable by law." I started.
"A new law there states a seventy-year sentence if not in your home in time for curfew." Smoke added in causing the young ones to go pale at that.
"As for ChaosRealm, its actual name was lost to the ages. The reason for the nickname is that the realm is all about chaos to the point where they worship chaos as a form of religion. Where asking questions is frowned upon while attacking someone is considered a positive experience. Its chaotic to put it bluntly, hence the name." I finished up explained to her the names.
"Damn." She said as I finished up.
"Okay, now. Who will go-" Sonya started but was cut off when a beeping noise interrupted her. Looking around, we saw that it came from Ironwoods who looked just as surprised as we are. He then pulled out his scroll to see that he was getting an urgent call,
"Weird. I didn't expect this to work in a different universe." He said before answering it. We all looked at each other for a moment as he answered the call. But we grew concerned as he started ordering commands into it in a worried voice.
"What is happening Ironwood?" Winter asked.
"Beacon is under attack again by the remaining white fang with what seemed to be some high tier officers of the White Fang. They are being led by Tyrian who for some reason decided to show himself. But also, there are some old-fashioned warriors there with some spears and swords wearing an old type of armor." He answered.
"We have to get back and help." Glynda said worried for the students.
"And you shall have our help as well." Kotal Kahn said.
"Especially since it sounds like those old-fashioned warriors are the dragon king's army." Kano added in.
"That would be much appreciated." Glynda said with a smile.
We all then rushed towards the portal room. Getting to the console, I entered the coordinates so that it would bring us to Remnant. The portal soon powered up, allowing us to enter. Stepping through it, we found ourselves back in Remnant. Specifically, in front Beacon. Looking around, we saw that Beacon was being invaded by the White Fang and the Dragon King's army. It was clear as the day that the students and the few soldiers from Atlas were clearly overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies there. The dragon king's army is what is giving the most amount of trouble to the students. Though, one enemy stood out amongst all the others.
"Tyrian." Summer seethed.
"You know him?" I asked.
"He was the one who killed me and took me away from my kids and loved ones." She replied and I could sense something familiar in her. Something I haven't sensed in a long time. And that was the immense want for revenge. And the last I felt it was when Scorpion went on a rampage when he discovered Quan Chi and Sektor were the one who killed his family and clan.
"Are you sure you want to face him again? It still hasn't been a full day since you came back." I asked her.
"Yes. I am sure." She answered while never taking her eyes off Tyrian.
"If you insist. Scorpion, go with her and help." I told him.
"No. This is personal. You won't understand why I have to do this alone." She said while readying her weapon.
"We don't but Scorpion indeed does as he experienced this before." Sub-Zero interjected.
"He has?" She asked.
"He lost his entire family and clan before. Twice in the case of his clan. He has been haunted by their screams and pain for years. Not to mention he was tricked into serving the very same person that slaughter his family and clan." Sub-Zero answered.
"Oh. Sorry." She said quietly.
"No harm done. Now let's go and kill the bastard. Hold on." Scorpion said before grabbing Summer's arm and flameport over to Tyrian.
"Okay. Let's fight." I said as we went over to help the students
We went to engage the White Fang and the Dragon King's army. First it was to save the students as they were more important right now. Luckily the White Fang were not as numerous or armed as the last time, making them much easier to take care of. But it did not escape my mind that this seems more like a test or drawing something/someone out as they seemed much less skilled than the others we fought. Almost like send in the recruits and keep the more experienced ones for the future fight. But that was for later, as right now, the Dragon King's army is the problem as they had already killed most of the Atlas soldiers and had some students on the brink of death. Thankfully, there were more White Fang than the Dragon King's soldiers. And now that the White Fange grunts were killed, we all focused on the soldiers of the Dragon King. And like the previous times we face them, they put up a good fight and don't go down easy. But we eventually defeated them. We then gathered all the injured students and Atlas soldiers and healed them of their injuries. Looking around, I saw both Scorpion and Summer finishing up their fight with Tyrian. He was clearly being overpowered as he struggled to stay up and avoid their attacks. Looking closely, I saw that he had a prosthesis tail that was cut by Scorpion's swords. It went on for a few more moments before he was clearly finished. Scorpion then summoned some demons to hold Tyrian down. Summer then went up to him while staring him in the eyes the whole time. She then unfolded her weapon which was a scythe similar to that of Ruby. She then swung her weapon, cleanly beheading Tyrian. Scorpion then summoned hell fire and burned Tyrian body to a crisp. They then walked over to us with Summer going over to Yang and Ruby and bringing them into a loving hug.
"Thank you for your help again gentlemen." Glynda said as she came up to us.
"It is no problem." Raiden said going up to her.
"Now, let us get all the students back to their dorms and the soldiers to the base. The we can get back to discussing how to handle the dragon king. Now that we can go in and out of Remnant, I can try and get you all more help." Ironwoods said.
"That would be most-" Sonya started but was interrupted when a soft rumbling started happening.
"Earthquake!" Winter shouted. Just as she said that, portals started opening up again, but this time, instead of acting like portals to travel somewhere, they were ones that appeared when a merging between realms happens. I could even see some parts of the temple of the dragon king appear nearby.
"NO! IT'S MUCH WORSE!" I shouted out. Soon the rumbling stop and we were able to steady ourselves. But we were not able to catch our breathes another portal opened up near us. At first, nothing happened. But then, someone came out. She was unnatural to say the least. She had red eyes that basically screamed corrupted. Her skin was an unusual deathly white with her hair being the same color. There were also black markings all over her face and body they almost resembled veins to an extent. I also felt a demonic aura emanating from her.
'Reminds me of the time we were corrupted by the Kamidogu when they were daggers that tasted the blood of the one being and were corrupted by Havik.' I thought as I readied myself for what was about to come.
"Salem." Glynda and Ironwoods said at the same time.
"Who is this bitch you two?" Sonya asked/demanded as she stared down Salem.
"Her name is Salem. Me, Glynda and Ozpin were part of an organization involved in a secret war to stop her from destroying Remnant." Ironwoods answered.
"Except this time my plans will no longer be challenged as that fool Ozpin is no longer here. And with my new partner, I will most defiantly go unchallenged and bring about the destruction of Remnant and then I can finally die." She said smiling evilly but also kind of creepily.
"Who would that be Salem?" Glynda asked through narrow eyes. Just as she said that, another figure stepped out of the portal.
"ONAGA!" Me and the kombatants immediately got in our fighting stance.
'This is bad.' I thought as we readied for the fight ahead. But instead of charging at us, he raised his hand and snapped his fingers. For a second nothing happened, but then, all the White Fang grunts and dragon king's soldiers were all revived. They got up and charged at us.
"Enjoy your last moments. Soon you will all be destroyed." Onaga said before laughing. He and Salem then left through the portal with many more White Fang grunts and soldiers come out before closing.
"FUCK! EVERYONE GET READY!" I shouted as the White Fang and Soldiers neared us.
Half an Hour later
We were resting and healing up all our wounds that we suffered and healed the wounds of any of the students or Atlas soldiers who came to help us. The fight was extremely tough. We would have been able to take them out a bit quicker and easier but we had the students to keep an eye on as they kept getting overwhelmed. Luckily, some like Coco, managed to put the pressure on the enemies giving us a bit of breathing room. Unfortunately, the rest of the Atlas soldiers and Team CRDL were killed by the dragon king's soldiers. Though I am not too upset by Team CRDL's death. Once the fight was over, we healed up the injured again. With that over, I turned back to the rest.
"We are defiantly going to need a lot more help. Especially now that Salem and that creature have teamed up." Ironwood said as he held his cybernetic arm that was damaged in the fight.
"I agree James." Glynda agreed stepping up to us.
"So, what now Jaune?" James asked.
"Now we prepare for the coming battle of Armageddon." I answered her.
