Chapter 20
Arc 1
Kala & Joey's Apartment
"In just a short amount of time, the impossible has become our reality. We've spent our entire lives believing that people with powers or people with godlike abilities were fake. False. Unimaginable. But then we were introduced to him. The man we call the Black-and-Blue Blur. He was unimaginable. The hero we needed. The guardian angle we needed. He's like a living battery spitting out a positive charge, charging up everything that is good in the world and everything that is good in life. It's the reason I have given him a new name. And something tells me that someday it's gonna catch-on. This is the story about How I, Kalani Rose, spent the night with Charge"
Kala was sitting on the couch in her living room writing an article on the man in black and blue. She didn't know why he chose to speak with her all of sudden but she was damn sure grateful for it. This one article could be make or break for her. Maybe she would even get a pulitzer. In journalism, if you managed to get a pulitzer it would separate you from every other journalist in the field and it also came with 15,000$ that could be pocketed
"I'm starting to think I should be jealous." Joey said walking into the room putting on his shirt.
"Why do you say that?" Kala said, still not looking up from her laptop screen as she continued to type the article she hoped would be the turning point of he career.
"Him. He's why I say that. It seems like whenever it's him, I'm put to the side."
"Baby, I'm with you not him. And you know that I am only doing this for my career. Think about it: Me being the first person to cover him puts me up in elite company. This can help me make a name for myself. I promise you, I'm only interested in you." She said, setting her laptop aside and walking over to him standing up to give him a quick peck on the lips.
"Hurry up and finish that article. And come back to bed." He said lowering his head to give her another quick peck on the lips. She smiled as she watched her boyfriend walk away from her and back to the bedroom they shared. She turned her head and walked back to her laptop to finish up on her article.

Sunstone City
The Black-and-Blue Blur or as he was now being called by the reporter that was his best friend, Charge. The name kinda had a ring to it or so he thought. Charge, "The Black-and Blue Guardian". It was a name that would definitely catch-on amongst the people around the world. And to get inspiration from the positive charge of a battery was genius. Something that only a clever reporter like Kala could come up with.
Cedric walked along the streets of Sunstone City in the morning hours of the October morning in the city. Currently up in the morning, it was up in the 50s and to some that would be considered cold but it wasn't to him and maybe it had something to do with his abilities or maybe not but the simple back leather jacket he wore was fine. He had just left his girlfriend's house in his black jeans with his blue v-neck top and black chelsea boots. He was on his way home but stopped when he saw the newspaper. Surprisingly he found a paper newspaper and the other surprising factor was just how quickly it was produced. The papers usually don't come out till the next morning. Mr. Sigman must've had the papers printed immediately.
He smiled looking at the picture they chose to go with the headline. It was a picture of him floating above the ground. The picture reminded him when he first came back to Sunstone City saving the city from Jackal, the destructive beast who probably would've killed thousands and thousands of people if Cedric didn't stop him when he had the chance.
Cedric looked down at the paper in his hands. His eyes shot up and looked around before he ducked off into an alleyway. He peeked over his shoulder to see if anyone was watching before he bolted off in a blur. A few seconds later, he stood in the backyard of his childhood home making sure no one saw him. He smirked walking around from the backyard to walk up to his front porch. He took his keys out of his pocket and opened the front door to walk on in seeing his mother sitting on the couch.
"Morning mom." Cedric said, taking off his jacket and hanging it up on the coat rack.
"Morning son. Glad to see your home for once." She said, making him roll his eyes. For the past few days, he hadn't really been home. He had been with Madison at her home. But now he was home.
"Here." He said handing her the paper before making his way in the kitchen.
"I spent the night with Charge. Charge, huh?" She read aloud.
"Yep."
"So how do you feel about it?"
"I like it. I like the name."
"I bet you do."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I'm just saying because it was Kala that wrote it, you love it. If it were anyone else it would be a different story."
"That's not true."
"Yes, it is. Deep down you know it. You just don't want to admit because you don't want to admit that I'm right."
Cedric opened his mouth to say something but quickly decided against it.
"Yeah, quiet. I know you and I know how you feel about that girl. You love her. Still do."
"Mom, if you're suggesting what I think you're suggesting then you're wrong. You're right I love Kala but I have Madison. I'm not chasing Kala anymore."
"You sure because by the looks of this, you still are. Look at this interview for example."
"Mom, it's not even like that."
"What is it like then?" Cedric sighed as he looked down at the floor looking to see if he could find an answer in his head.
"Mom, I just wanted to help her. I wanted to advance her career."
"Really?"
"Yes, really. Why is that so hard to believe?"
"Son, I've been alive for some time. I-"
"A long time." He interjected in a joking manner making her punch him in the shoulder making him chuckle.
"Like I was saying, I have been alive for some time and I believe that best friends don't do what you two do for each other. I see the way you two look at each other. There's something there whether you want to admit or not."
"Well whatever there is or was, is dead. You know I loved Kala. I wanted her but I didn't get her. Instead, I got Maidson and I'm happy."
"Okay, I got one more question."
"Alright."
"Do you love her?" Cedric frowned as he heard that question and frowned, opening his mouth as if he were gonna say something but he heard his phone ring getting his attention. He pulled his phone out from his pocket and saw a phone call popping up on his screen from Dr. Hart.
"What's up, Doc?"
"I got something you're gonna want to see."
"Alright, I'll be right there." He said hanging up the phone and standing up.
"I hate to break up this interview mom but I gotta run. Dr. Hart has something she wants me to see. For the past few months, I've had her keeping an eye on the operations inside Maverick Industries. So maybe she has some news."
"Smart. Well, I'm gonna get ready to head on out. I'm guessing I'll see you tonight."
"Yeah, probably so. Love you." He said walking over to her giving her a kiss on the forehead making her smile before he bolted off grabbing his jacket and going out the backdoor in a blur leaving his mother standing there looking on with a smile.

Charge HQ
Cedric walked into his HQ with a purpose. Whatever Dr. Hart had to show him must've been important for her to call him in the morning right before they both had to go to work.
"Doc you got something for me?" Cedric asked walking into to see Dr. Hart sitting in the living room area sitting on the couch with a black wooden box.
"I do. Now stay right there. Don't get any closer." She said standing up making Cedric frown. She opened the box showing a silver metallic globe earning a confused gaze from the hero of Sunstone City.
"What is it?"
"Nanomites. They're an extremely microscopic robot with destructive capabilities killing everything within seconds."
"Nanomites? They're real."
"Very. I thought Maverick would've just scrapped the idea. It was an expensive concept that really wasn't worth the money in my opinion."
"Honestly, you're not wrong. He weaponized my idea. The idea was for medical usage and construction usage. They were supposed to be able to go into the body and repair organs and do surgery in mere minutes and build buildings in minutes. The fact that he's weaponizing inventions I made to help people pisses me off. Any ideas on what he plans to do?"
"None, he's been quiet. I planted bugs in his office to listen in but there hasn't been any updates yet."
"Alright just keep an eye-" Cedric was saying but heard a loud alarm making him frown.
"What the hell is that?"
"An alarm. I installed it to automatically pick up abnormal situations." She said running from the living room to the computer chamber with Cedric following close behind her. She quickly took a seat down in front of the computer. Cedric watched as her changed into a concerned frown.
"What is it?" He asked.
"A big problem. Have you ever saved an airplane?"
"No."
"Well, you're about to. And careful, Madison's on the plane."
"Say less." He said as he turned around on his heels and walked with a purpose as his suit materialized around his body and his body and eyes started to glow their blue radiance.

"The Black-and-Blue Blur" now known as Charge flew through the air feeling the air caress his skin as he flew like a man possessed looking for the plane. It was a fairly easy find especially considering it was leaving a grey smoke trail through the air. He looked at the plane with a confused frown as he saw a space carrier on top of the plane and it was clear that the propulsion units were causing the plane to glide up into an environment it wasn't supposed to.
"Doc, you didn't tell me there was a space unit above."
"Forgot to mention that. Sorry."
"Which one do I save first? The plane or the ship?"
"The ship since the plane is already entering the thermosphere we got a little bit of time before you have to catch it before it descends."
"Catch it? You never said anything about catching a plane!"
"It'll be easy. For you."
Charge shook his head and flew to the roof of the plane before placing his feet firmly on the roof of the plane between the bottom of the ship and the plane. He placed his hands on the bottom of the ship and started to lift. His eyes glowed as he looked at the hinges that were attaching the ship to the plane. Beams came from his eyes severing the hinges as he rotated his head, breaking them. He floated with his hands under the ship lifting it up. He peeked over his shoulder seeing the plane slowly start to descent. He floated as he continued to hold the ship. Once the ship was full into the atmosphere, he let go and gently pushed forward allowing the propulsions units to do the rest of the work.
He smiled as he watched the ship fly away. That smile faded away as he turned around watching the plane descent into the atmosphere spinning around. Charge flew towards the plane as it continued to pick up speed. Charge flew to the wing and grabbed a hold of the wing trying to stop the plane from spinning. The plane stopped spinning momentarily before it started to nosedive as Charge ended up tearing the wing of the plane off. Charge floated in the air before flying through the wing as he started to fly even faster picking up the speed he needed to get around to the front of the plane.
Charge flew to the nose of the plane and grunted once he grabbed a hold of the plane.
"Shit." He cursed as he felt all of the weight of the plane. He peeked over his shoulder seeing they were approaching ground real fast. He grunted as he felt his feet hit the ground and he pushed against the plane sending a shockwave through the plane. He dropped down to a knee before he slowly placed the plane down on the old, empty runway.
Charge smiled as he floated over to the door before ripping it off the hinges and throwing it off to the side. He floated inside placing his feet down looking amongst the passengers. He smiled as he looked around and felt his nerves settle once he locked eyes with Madison who was staring directly at the young hero.
"Well, I'm glad to see you all are alive and well. I hope this experience doesn't deteriorate you all from flying, statistically speaking it's still the safest way to travel." He winked as he waved a final goodbye giving a final glance at Madison before he walked to the door and bolted off into the air with a smile.

Random Bar in Nevada
"Well, we have new reports coming in. "The Black-and-Blue Blur" now being known as Charge has just stopped a plane from descending down into destruction and sources…"
A 6'10, man with long black hair and grey eyes with arm sleeves full of tattoos sat at the bar counter looking up at the TV screen. He wore black leather pants with black leather boots and a black leather biker vest with black fingerless gloves. He smirked as he saw the screen seeing the image of the black and blue hero.
He put down $20 and made his way to the door. He walked out of the door and walked to his Harley Davidson. He turned on his motorcycle and revved the engine smiling as he had his destination in mind.
"Sunstone City, here I come." The man said before he rode off on his way to Sunstone City.
A/N: Well aren't y'all lucky. Y'all didn't have to wait that long for an update but the next chapter will be a continuation of this one and might not come out till mid-to-late january.
