A Little More Fun. Or Not.
Draco woke up from a knock on the door, he turned his head, or at least tried to, but what he got was just facefull of soft hair making his groan.
- Breakfast in five! - Someone called through the door, making Alec groan in response.
Draco blinked several times, trying to get rid of sleep clouding his eyes and mind, but he was just so comfy and warm that it seem impossible to shake the sleep off of him, so he nudged Alec, trying to get him to move a bit but what he earned was Alec tightening his grip around Draco, nuzzling closer to Draco's neck.
- Wake up or I'm gonna pee on you. And I'm not kidding. - Draco hoarse out, earning a soft grumble that could be a sleepy laugh from Alec before he was let go.
Draco murmured his thanks and slowly slid out of the bed and walked in the bathroom.
When Draco came out, Alec was still laying in bed, starting to grin when he saw Draco.
- No, I'm still annoyed at you for your behavior yesterday. What were you thinking? For fucks sake, not just that but also it really wasn't a good way how to meet your parents! - Draco started to pull on his clothes but Alec grabbed his hand and pulled him closer, sitting up and wrapping his arms around Draco's waist.
- I'm sorry, okay? I didn't know that they would be home so early. I thought that they would be away for a couple more days. They said so themselves. And I know that I shouldn't have gotten drunk, my bad. But I will make up for it to you. - Alec pushed Draco's hair out of Draco's forehead.
- Fine. And I need a haircut. My hair is starting to get way too long. - Draco tried to stay annoyed but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't, the blue eyes way too soft gazing in his.
- I like your hair this leight, they get so softly wavy. - Alec twirls a strand of Draco's hair around his finger.
- Yeah, and I will look not an ounce of a pureblood. Also just a bit more and then the damn ponytail will come on and I will look like my father. No thank you. - Draco scoffed.
Alec just burst out laughing before showing Draco softly to the side and getting up himself, starting to get dressed.
When they walked into the kitchen Alec's mother was sitting down at the table by the window, sipping coffee and reading a daily prophet, two plates of breakfast already set up on the other side of the table.
Alec leaned down, giving his mother a small peck on the cheek before sitting down, already taking a sip of tea.
Draco slowly slid into his chair, not really knowing how to act.
- Eat. - Alec murmured before knocking his shoulder softly against Draco's, already showing food into his mouth.
Draco slowly obeyed, glancing up to Alec's mother as if waiting for an explosion about to happen but nothing came, she just continued to read the prophet and sip her coffee.
- Mmm, mum, you make the best breakfast, I so missed these. Also, I thought that you were coming home in a couple of days, what changed? - Alec took a big sip of his tea.
- We finished early and your father already got another deal coming up, so we came home. And I saw how you didn't expect me here. - She chuckled, putting down her newspaper.
- Yeah, well, whiskey can get to your head pretty fast. - Alec laughed while Draco shot him a glare.
- I saw that. But it's nice to finally meet you Draco. Alec has told me a lot about you. - She smiled politely to Draco.
- Thank you ma'am. It's a pleasure to meet you, although I would prefer different circumstances for our first meeting. Sorry about that. -
- Ah, stop being so polite, she doesn't mind. - Alec ran a hand through Draco's hair, massaging the back of his neck, making Draco let out a slow breath and his eyes close. - That's better. - Alec breathed out close to Draco's ear and for a second Draco leaned into his touch, sure that Alec would kiss him again but as seconds passed, nothing happened and Draco opened his eyes to see Alec just watching him with a mix of longing in his blue eyes.
Draco wanted… He didn't really understand what it was that he wanted, so he just hung his head and took a sip of his tea.
Alec sighed and dropped his head, turning back to his unfinished breakfast and Draco was flooded with sudden sadness.
It was night before Draco needed to leave for Hogwarts, they were laying in Alec's bed facing each other, Alec's arm thrown over Draco's waist while one of Draco's hands was tangled into Alec's hair.
That look from the kitchen was back in Alec's eyes, seeming even more intense now in the dark.
- What are you thinking? - Draco breathed out.
- About how I will miss you while you're in Hogwarts, how I won't be able to look after you, take care of you. - Alec whispered back, moving his hand up, running his fingers over the side of Draco's face, stopping at his lips.
Draco didn't know what made him do it, but he softly bit down on the pad of Alec's tumb, watching how fast Alec's eyes dialated at that, him sucking in a sharp breath, not taking his eyes off of Draco.
And then Alec, or was it Draco himself, pulled him flush against his chest and his tumb was replaced by oh so warm lips, kissing so softly but with such urgency that something viciously flutter in Draco's chest, making him grip tighter at Alec, needing, wanting something that he had no idea about.
The kiss grew deeper, bruising their lips with its intensity, fully making them lightheaded.
Alec let out a broken moan, sending shocks of sparks running down Draco's spine, before he pulled back, slightly unwilling but still pushing himself back away from Draco's chasing lips.
Draco blinked a couple of times, feeling a bit confused but Alec just shook his head, taking his hands off of Draco, running one through his own hair, pushing Draco's hand off of himself in the proces.
- Wha… - Draco started but it died away, million thoughts running through his head at once, not one making sense.
- Will you promise me something? - All of sudden Alec spoke up, his eyes bearing into Draco's with such intensity that all Draco could do was nod. - Please try and have some fun this year. Actual fun. Try to enjoy yourself and everything around you. Just try, okay? -
Draco nod again.
Alec sighed, wrapping his hands around Draco and pulling him closer, letting Draco rest against his chest, softly running one hand through Draco's hair, already falling off to sleep.
Start of the new school year was exhausting, it took some time for Draco to get back on track after having rest for all summer and even while his body was doing much better already, all the stairs still wore him out a lot.
The best part of the day was tea with Remus and getting mail from Alec.
Even when they couldn't send letters back and forth every day, because it still is a distance for poor owls, there were at least three letters a week that brightened Draco's mood.
It took him by surprise how much he actually missed being away from Alec, he found himself more and more dreaming about simply being with him.
It was Halloween evening and a bunch of their year decided to have a small gathering, or as they called it themself, a house party.
It wasn't hard to find a place where they all could gather, Lupin stepped up for them allowing them to use his class for this, saying that it will do only good for kids from all houses, sit together and play some games.
What actually happened was that he helped set everything up, transforming the whole class in something really cozy before stepping up in front of them all.
- Okay, in short, don't make shit that gets out of this room. If you won't bother me, I won't bother you. Deal? Deal. Goodnight. - Remus turned around and walked to his room, closing the door behind him.
Everyone cheered and started to set down, chatting with enthusiasm how cool a teacher Lupin is.
Soon enough they set on playing truth or dare that with each passing sip of firewhiskey got more and more heated, setting everyone in a light and joyful mood.
It was Draco's turn, everyone turned to him in devilish anticipation.
- We dare you to… Kiss Harry! - everyone whistled at that, making already flushed Harry laugh and shake his head.
- Well, Potter, a dare is a dare, so get up your arse and come over here, 'm way too comfy to get up. - Draco let his head rest back against the big fluffy pillow he was sitting against.
Harry just laughed again, sliding closer to Draco since he was sitting almost next to him already.
- Scared, Malfoy? - Harry smirked, light dancing in his eyes.
- You wish. - Draco playfully snapped back before grabbing the front of Harry's shirt and pulling him into a bit of a sloppy kiss.
Everything stopped for a moment, it was as if the whole room was holding their breath and then Harry broke out in nervous laughter before locking his eyes with Draco's.
Draco pushed one hand through Harry's hair before playfully pushing him away by placing his whole hand over Harry's face, making Harry laugh even more.
But of course their playful moment was broken by everyone else in the room cheering, passing more firewhiskey for them to drink.
Draco gladly took a sip, his whole body buzzing.
- So Draco, now spill the beans! How was your first kiss? - Someone asked.
Draco just shook his head, taking another sip of his drink, letting his other hand rest in his lap, leaning into Harry's hand cradling through his hair.
- It wasn't my first kiss actually. But if you must know, my first kiss was amazing. - Harry's hand froze at the back of Draco's head.
- Who was your first kiss then? - He asked, all playfulness gone, his brows furrowed.
- Alec. - Draco simply stated for him before turning back to the others to explain who Alec is.
Harry pulled his hand back at that, moving back away from Draco and taking a long swig of his own glass.
Game picked up after that so Draco let his head fall back, getting lost in his own thoughts about Alec and the kisses they shared.
He was pulled back to reality when Harry's name was called, it was his tone.
Someone dared Harry to kiss some ravenclaw.
Draco thought that Harry would just laugh it off as before but to his surprise Harry got up and full on snogged the guy.
A dull ache spread through Draco's chest making him dizzy, he put down his glass and got slowly up, feeling sick.
No one seemed to notice him slipping away, no one bothered him the whole way down to the dorms and when Draco finally dropped in his bed, a few stray tears seeped into his pillow right before he passed out.
Next couple days passed in a blur, he spent most of his time in the common room or outside walking around the grounds.
Harry seemed to ignore him, avoiding him as much as possible. Whenever they bumped into each other, he would just scurry along, not even glancing at Draco, ignoring Draco's attempts to talk.
Gladly the weekend was their Hogsmeade weekend, Draco couldn't wait to get out of the castle and meet Alec. He wanted to talk about all this to fully understand why Harry was acting this way.
Alec waited patiently for him at the gates, smoking yet another cigarette, other hands shoved in his leather jacket's pocket.
The front of his hair was pulled back in a man bun, while the back rested freely around the back of his neck.
His eyes lighted up noticing Draco wrapped in a Slytherin scarf and new suede coat, hands showed deep inside his pockets.
Alec dropped his cigarette, stepping on it before opening his arms for Draco who gladly buried himself in them, right away pressing his already cold nose against the warmth of Alec's neck, making Alec shiver a bit before huffing out a laugh.
- New coat? If we judge by your nose, then it's not too good! But sexy indeed. - Alec didn't let go of Draco, holding him close, burying his own face in Draco's hair that today was a bit of a mess.
- Don't let my mother hear that! - Draco pulled away, punching Alec in the shoulder playfully. - It is actually warm, I'm just cold, idk, maybe have started to catch some kind of cold or something. Probably shouldn't have walked all the way down to dorms in just socks after the house party. -
- House party? Tell more. - Alec took Draco's hand in his, admiring the silk deep forest green gloves before pushing his hand with Draco's back in his pocket.
- Oh, right, I didn't get time to write to you, and you were coming today anyway, so no need to strain another owl. - Draco let their shoulders brush together, already enjoying the warmth radiating from Alec.
- Okay, now tell me. You went to a party? - there was a bit of surprise in Alec's voice that made Draco roll his eyes.
- Yes, I listened to you about having some more fun and actually went to a house party. Lupin helped us set it all up in his classroom. Basically it was all our year getting drunk and playing some weird party games. But it was fun, relaxing, but I think that about that relaxing part we should thank Lupin for charming his classroom to suit us. - Draco just shook his head, looking at the shop windows they were passing, not sure in which ones he wanted to go in and in which he didn't.
- And? - there was a hint of something in Alec's tone than made Draco inspect shop windows with even bigger care, not daring to look up and actually see the look on his face.
- And what? - Draco played dumb.
- You know what. Spill the beans, Draco. -
- Well, somewhere after a couple drinks I got dared to kiss Harry, it was… Sweet, I guess. Okay, it was more than sweet. I liked it and his eyes lighted up and the color was spreading over his cheeks and his lips tasted of something sweet, probably chocolate we shared earlier, and firewhiskey and it just sit so right and then he just stayed close and played with my hair and it felt so good and warm and then someone asked how my first kiss was, thinking that this was it, and I told them that it wasn't and told about my kiss with you and how mind blowing it was. So then Harry got pissed at something and went over and fully snogged some guy right in front of me. And now he is ignoring me. - Draco huffed out, feeling a bit annoyed himself.
Alec suddenly stopped, making Draco look up at him.
His eyes were blazing like ice in freezing cold winter sun, his brows knitted together and his jaw set.
- You kissed Harry? - his tone too was sounding way off, cold tints going through it.
- Yeah. I told you. -
- And you decided that it's okay to tell me this because? -
- Well, you asked, didn't you? - Draco pursed his lips, his own brows furrowing.
- Really, Draco? Really? - Alec pulled his hands out of his pockets, dropping Draco's hand.
- What? - cold seeping in his dropped hand made Draco shiver a bit, and that look in Alec's eyes was freezing him to a spot.
- You know, when I told you to try to have some more fun, I didn't mean to go around and snog every guy who's ready to have you. - Alec's tone was low, close to growling.
- I didn't snog every other guy! It was just Harry! - Draco crossed his arms over his chest.
- Yeah, just Harry. It's always just Harry! -
- And what's that supposed to mean now? -
- Oh, as if you don't know! -
- No, I don't! Explain! -
- You always go and choose him! And you don't even see how much it hurts you! But you know what, go on, go and snog him at every chance you get just to see him going off with someone else! Just after don't you dare to come to me all crying and whining about how your precious Harry has screwed you over once again! Because that's what he does! He is the one who is breaking your heart just for pure fun and you are just to dumb to see it! - Alec was losing it, his hands already clenching in fists.
Draco didn't really see that coming but then his hand was connecting with Alec's cheek with a loud pop noise, leaving an angry red mark over his cheek.
Alec just looked down at Draco, his eyes going fully frozen. It was like watching the wall being pulled up, every window closing down and in that moment Draco finally realized what he had done but it was way too late.
Alec was turning on his heel and hurrying off.
- Alec! - Draco called, hurrying to catch up. - Alec, please! -
- Enough Malfoy! Enough! - Alec barked, freezing Draco to the ground.
- Alec… - Draco breath out, already feeling tears burning his eyes, his heart was jumping through loops inside his chest, trying to break free, his rib cage squeezing even tighter and tighter every second, trying to squeeze it back in its place.
- I have a train to catch. - Alec breathed out, sounding oh so tired that it was breaking Draco apart even more.
- Alec… Please! - Draco let out one broken sob but it was as if Alec wasn't hearing him at all, disappearing around the corner of Hogsmeade train station.
Draco tried to suck in a breath but his ribcage was squeezing way too hard, not allowing his lungs to have any fresh air. So all he could do was let out another broken sob and just let the wind pull at his bones in hopes that it will help him feel less heavy.
