"It's been 72 fucking hours and we are nowhere", yelled Eric as he was on the verge of breaking down. He hadn't slept since the ambush and it wouldn't take much for him to explode.

Mandy looked at him. "I know how difficult this is for you Eric, we are doing everything we can".

She had arrived two days after the ambush and had been helping through the CIA and contacts on her end as well.

He took his empty cup of coffee and threw it at the wall. "I don't see what the point is! The rebels have not reached out, we can't even be sure they are alive".

Jason walked up to him and grabbed him by the shoulders. "Eric, until I have proof that they are dead, I will continue looking for them. We all will. We leave no man behind and you know it".

He nodded and walked out of the building.

"Mandy, tell me we have information"?

"Jason, we're really doing our best. Unfortunately, a missing Navy Captain and Officer is not the CIA's top priority. I'm still waiting to hear back. Most of our sources are currently either in hiding or laying low due to the situation here. It might take more time to get their feedback".

Jason rubbed his forehead in distress. "I don't know how much more time we have".

Clay stared at Jason. "Maybe Blackburn is right and they're already dead".

Jason pointed a finger at him. "I don't want to hear that from you or anybody else on this team, is that clear"?!

Ray pulled Jason aside. "Hey, take it easy on the kid. We're all on edge here, we all want to bring Sonny and Emily back safe and sound, but the longer we wait and have no news, the more difficult it is to imagine that they are still alive. Everyone is coping the best they can".

"You're right. I'm sorry. I'll go talk to Clay and apologize".

"Looks good", said Sonny as he changed the bandage on Emily's wound. "It's healing nicely. Unfortunately for you, the scar won't be as nice as if it had been sutured up. Sorry about that".

She gave him a look. "You removed a bullet, with tweezers, out of my chest and have managed to keep the infection away in this rotten place and you're worried about my scar? Tough break the guy I'll be with, will have to accept it as it is".

"You've made up your mind", simply stated Sonny.

Over the past couple of days, they had gotten to know each other well. Let's face it they were 24 hours a day together, it wasn't like they were going to ignore each other.

After the first day, a mattress was thrown in the room. It was slightly bigger than a one-person mattress, but it wasn't a queen sized one either. The first night they got it, Sonny had slept on the floor or sitting leaning against the wall as they had done their first night there. The following night she had told him to join her and after some discussion and persuasion, he had agreed.

However, he kept to himself the fact that he had woken up in the middle of the night and had found his arm draped over her. If she had realized it, she hadn't brought it up either.

"Made up is a big word.. Let's just say that we have enough time here to waste to have my mind rambling".

"You want to talk about it"?

"I'm not sure there is much more to say".

"Maybe when we get out of here and you see him, everything will go back to normal", said Sonny shrugging.

"I can't even recall how long we've been here Sonny. We have not seen the light of day for God knows how many days. We have no idea of time. For all we know, we could be sleeping during the day and not at night".

"Kind of like being on a crazy vacation", replied Sonny very comically lifting an eyebrow. "You know when you go to Cancun and you spend the entire night, drinking tequila and dancing. You head back to your hotel at the crack of dawn and sleep until mid-afternoon to do it all over again".

"Well if it's the case, you picked a real crappy hotel. Although, I'll give it a one star for the concrete design which is unusual. Next time I'll book the hotel".

"They're going to come for us right"? suddenly said Sonny in uncertainty.

"I don't know. Can I tell you with certainty that they know we're alive? No. Do I know what the rebels have planned for us? No. All I can say is that we're still here and we're still alive, that is all we can hang on to".
