As Katie's eyes fluttered open, she was surprised to find she was now sitting in a dim restaurant, a bouquet of red roses on the table, and Gabriel opposite her. She looked down at her clothes, relieved to see she was back in plaid, feeling more comfortable instantly. Looking around the candle-lit restaurant, the quiet music playing in the background, her favourite pasta in front of her, Katie raised an eyebrow.

"Cute. Do you really think I can be bought so easily?" Katie scoffed.

"Is this any better?" Gabriel questioned, clicking his fingers.

The next second she was surrounded by rose petals, more than she could even count, her eyes widening when she realised the delicate petals were even raining from the ceiling. Katie simply crossed her arms, an amused look on her face, as Gabriel let out a theatrical sigh.

"Alright, how about this?" Gabriel exclaimed, a mischievous look in his eyes.

Katie's eyes widened as he suddenly morphed into a familiar Angel, as she felt a small blush growing on his cheeks. It was becoming pretty evident that Gabriel was well aware of her growing crush on Castiel, and he wasn't against taking advantage of it.

"I'd prefer the real Cas, thanks" Katie mumbled, as the Archangel rolled his eyes, morphing back to his usual appearance.

"You're no fun" Gabriel complained, as Katie stood up from her seat.

"Take me back to the warehouse. I don't like pretend" Katie insisted, her lips drawn in a fine line.

"You seemed to enjoy it in your dream" Gabriel winked, but clicked his fingers, nonetheless, returning them to the abandoned building.

"Why have you kidnapped Sam and Dean?" Katie asked, trying to change the subject.

"It was self-defence. They were coming to kill me. Didn't you see those big wooden stakes?" Gabriel stated, sarcastically.

"You lured them here...you're not gonna' trap Sam in Tuesday's again are you?" Katie inquired, making Gabriel huff.

"Of course not…I'm only going to trap them in TV land until they do as I ask" Gabriel shrugged.

"Which is?" Katie frowned.

"Play their roles. Become the vessels they were born to be" Gabriel informed her, as Katie gave him a look of disbelief.

"They'll tear each other apart-" Katie began, but he cut her off.

"My brothers already are" Gabriel replied, stiffly.

"And what about the rest of the world? It'll be destroyed!" Katie exclaimed.

"Shame" Gabriel muttered, shrugging his shoulders once again.

"Billions of people could die and that's all you've got to say?" Katie gaped.

"There is no stopping this fight. Once my brothers get started…they're in it until the end" Gabriel explained, as Katie shook her head.

"And mine are the same. Your underestimating Sam and Dean. They're stronger than you think" Katie insisted, making Gabriel scoff.

"Seeing as Sam's currently operating on a bullet wound in Dean's back, you may be about to eat your words" Gabriel stated, as Katie's eyes widened in horror.

"Wait…if they die in there, what happens to them?" Katie questioned.

"They die for real, duh" Gabriel said, only just finishing his sentence as Katie suddenly grabbed him by the lapels of his jacket.

"You put Dean back together. Now" Katie practically growled, her eyes growing darker.

"I get all tingly when you take command like that" Gabriel smirked, letting his eyes roam over her.

"I want to see them…and stop flirting with me" Katie insisted, making Gabriel pout.

In the next moment, he was clicking his fingers and they were suddenly sitting in the middle of an audience, facing Sam and Dean, who appeared to be strapped to a device covering their feet. Katie's eyes widened as she saw a large red ball ready to be catapulted forward and turned to gape at Gabriel.

"You wouldn't…" Katie trailed off, as the Japanese host began to cackle.

Katie cringed as the ball was thrown forward, hitting Sam in the crotch, who practically fell to his knees, his face bright red. Gabriel clapped manically, obviously enjoying the show, as Katie nudged his shoulder.

"How is this pushing them closer to accepting their roles?" Katie scoffed, as Gabriel shrugged, dismissively.

"Can't a guy have a little fun at the same time?" Gabriel grinned.

"Nutcracker!" The Japanese host cried, as a slow playback began on the screens around the studio, as Katie bit her lip.

"It's not funny!" Katie told him, trying to choke down her laughter.

"Not even a little?" Gabriel replied, a smug look on his face, as Katie saw they were showing a slow-motion playback of Sam's face, and couldn't stop the giggle that came from her lips.

"…Okay. Okay, maybe a tiny bit funny" Katie shook her head, fondly.

Her eyes snapped up when there was thumping sound coming from blue doors behind Sam and Dean, her jaw dropping open as Castiel suddenly entered the room. Gabriel couldn't help but roll his eyes as he saw how Katie practically lit up at just the sight of his brother.

"Cas?" Dean cried, a hopeful tone to his voice.

"Is this another trick?" Sam frowned.

"It's me. Uh, what are you doing here?" Castiel inquired, as Gabriel gripped the seat in front of him tightly, obviously annoyed at Castiel for getting involved.

"Us? What are you doing here?" Dean retorted.

"Looking for you. You've been missing for days!" Castiel exclaimed, as Katie turned back to Gabriel.

"Seriously?" Katie huffed, crossing her arms.

"I figured we could all use some quality time together…without any interruptions" Gabriel muttered.

"Where's Katie?" Castiel asked, a moment later, as her lips twitched into a smile.

"We don't know. The Trickster took her and—" Dean cut himself off, as Castiel suddenly disappeared in front of their eyes.

"What the hell, Gabriel? Where did you send him?" Katie questioned, not liking the mischievous look on his face.

"Nowhere you want to be, trust me…" Gabriel trailed off, as Katie disappeared in the blink of an eye.

He scoffed harshly as he realised she had pushed through his barriers and could sense that she was now beside Castiel. Damn girl was getting way too strong, Gabriel thought to himself.

Katie dropped to her knees, her head pounding as she realised she must have accidentally teleported once again. A frown grew on her face when she realised she seemed to be in an industrial-sized freezer, and slowly pushed herself to her feet. She needed to find Cas, who knows where—

"Have you even stepped foot in a fucking kitchen before?" A familiar English voice shouted from outside, as Katie's eyes widen.

She quickly pushed the freezer door open, her eyes almost popping out of her head when she saw the kitchen in front of her. Castiel was a few metres away, staring down at a pan in front of him, as the smell of burning reached Katie's nose. She gulped when she spotted a familiar blond over Castiel's shoulder. Gordon Ramsay.

"Uh, no…" Castiel replied, awkwardly, as he was suddenly twisted around.

"Who the fucking hell do you think you are, Pretty Boy?" Gordon Ramsay yelled in the Angel's face.

"Castiel?" He replied, innocently.

"This meat is fucking raw, you bloody donkey!" Ramsay insisted, ushering to the beef in front of Castiel.

"In what way I am similar to a—" Castiel began, as Katie coughed loudly.

"Don't answer back, Cas" She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Are you trying to make a burger or summon a fucking demon, you brain-dead bozo?!" Ramsay cried, growing red in the face.

In response, Castiel gulped and turned back to the hob, turning it up to full, as Gordon Ramsay held his hands out in exasperation. A few seconds later, the pan suddenly caught fire, as Katie dropped her head into her hands.

"Is this supposed to happen?" Castiel frowned, tilting his head.

"Oh my God, what are you doing you bloody idiot? You're cooking a fucking burning pan?!" Ramsay screamed.

"I think it's time we get out of here before he has a coronary" Katie mumbled, closing her eyes, and taking a deep breath.

When her eyes fluttered open, she and Castiel were standing on top of a kitchen counter in a bright kitchen, with Sam and Dean staring up at them. It looked like they were on the set of some sort of cringy sitcom.

"Thank you, Katie" Castiel nodded to her, as he jumped down from the counter.

"No problem" She smiled back, hopping down too.

"Are you two okay?" Dean inquired.

"I don't have much time. Listen to me. Something is not right. This thing is much more powerful than it should be" Castiel exclaimed, biting her lip.

"What thing—the Trickster?" Dean asked, a frown growing on his face.

"If it is a trickster" Castiel mumbled.

"…Actually, about that. I need to tell you guys something—" Katie began, but she was cut off as duct tape was suddenly stuck to her and Castiel's lips.

"Hello! Thank you, thank you" Gabriel grinned, rushing through the nearby door, as thunderous applause began.

"Hi Castiel" Gabriel smirked, as Castiel looked to Katie with wide eyes, who simply shrugged in response.

"Sorry, Katie. Can't have you spoiling the surprise" Gabriel told her.

With a wave of his hand, they were both sent away, back to the abandoned warehouse, as Katie ripped the duct tape away from her lips. She let out an angry groan, growing tired of Gabriel's games.

"You know him?" Castiel questioned, looking at Katie with suspicion.

"He's the one who told me about the soul transference. Say's he's been watching me for a long time" Katie mumbled.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Castiel insisted, as Katie shrugged.

"I guess it was nice to meet someone who didn't instantly think of me as an abomination" Katie stated, making Castiel frown.

"…I'm sorry. For how I treated you when we first met. I was wrong about you" Castiel informed her, as Katie couldn't stop the smile spreading across her lips.

"Did that actually hurt you to say? Do you need an ice pack?" Katie teased, as Castiel shook his head, fondly.

"I was wrong too, you know. I thought you were just an annoying Angel with a stick up his ass. Now I just think you're an annoying Angel" Katie went on, as Castiel couldn't stop the laugh that left his lips.

"Well, aren't you two, sickeningly adorable?" A familiar voice announced from behind them.

"Are you ready to actually talk now?" Katie questioned, turning around to face Gabriel.

"You know, I think there are a lot better uses of our time than just talking" Gabriel suggested, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously.

"That's enough, Gabriel" Castiel insisted, taking a step forward.

"What, are you the only one who's allowed to flirt with her?" Gabriel scoffed, as Castiel's eyes widened a little, his lips drawn in a fine line.

"Look, I know that you think this can't be stopped. That we can't beat this Apocalypse, but your wrong. I have faith" Katie explained, as Gabriel tilted his head.

"In what? God? Because trust me, sweetheart, he's not listening anymore" Gabriel retorted.

"In Sam and Dean. They're my brothers. And I know they'll do anything to stop the world from ending…and they'll win" Katie went on.

"I wish I had the same faith in them that you do. But they're just two humans" Gabriel pointed out.

"So, what? All it takes is one person to make a change. I've seen it" Katie told him, as Gabriel mulled over her comment.

"And that's why I saved you" Gabriel replied, as Katie gave him a look of confusion.

"What?" She inquired, as a smile grew on Gabriel's face.

"Your first hunt with Sam. Who do you think killed all those vamps?" Gabriel stated, as Katie's jaw dropped open.

"So, I don't know what usually happens on hunts…but I feel like this isn't going too well" Katie panted, as she and Sam tried to stop the nest of vampires from getting through the door they had just barricaded.

"You think?!" Sam retorted.

"Do we have any weapons?" Katie asked.

"Well…I have some holy water" Sam shrugged.

"Oh, great" Katie sighed, the strain of keeping the door shut getting to her.

"Do you have any more dead man's blood?" Sam inquired.

"Nope" Katie replied, getting out her empty syringe.

"Okay, what do we have?" Sam queried.

"No exits" Katie offered.

"Not helping" Sam stated.

"…Crap, we have about 30 seconds before they're breaking down this door, whether we like it or not" Sam groaned, as the plank of wood holding the door shut started to splinter.

"Dying on my first hunt…just my luck" Katie sighed.

Suddenly there was a shout from behind the door, followed by a bright white light that completely blinded the pair. Katie scrunched her eyes shut and used her arm to cover her face, but the light still somehow managed to penetrate it. A moment later, the abandoned house they were in was eerily quiet. Sam cautiously unbarricaded the door and peeked through the opening. His eyes widened as he saw half a dozen bodies outside, they had all been killed in a matter of seconds.

"What happened to their eyes?" Katie grimaced, seeing the burnt appearance of their eyes as if they had exploded.

"I've never seen anything like this…" Sam trailed off, crouching down and looking closer at a nearby body.

"Why?" Katie blurted out.

"There is only one way I can think of putting a stop to the Apocalypse, but you're not going to like it" Gabriel announced, as Castiel took a step forward.

"No" Castiel shook his head, anger in his eyes, that Katie had rarely seen.

"What is it?" She insisted, confused.

"…You join Lucifer. With you on his side, he'll easily be able to beat Michael. Your brothers won't have to destroy themselves. The world wouldn't be destroyed in their boxing match" Gabriel explained.

"Uh, I think you might be forgetting the part where the literal Devil wins?" Katie argued.

"My brother isn't all bad. He's still an Angel. He could show mercy—" Gabriel started, but Castiel stopped him.

"He'd want her soul. That is not going to happen" Castiel insisted, his voice firm.

"It's not really your choice to make, Cassie" Gabriel scoffed, turning to Katie.

"I don't want to lose who I am" Katie mumbled, her eyes downcast.

"You might not have a choice in the end, Katie" Gabriel stated, taking a step forward, and placing his hands on her shoulders.

"And what about you? Where do you plan to be during all this?" Katie asked, her eyes snapping up to the Archangel's, who gave no reply.

"…Your just gonna' run, aren't you? What, too scared to face your brothers?" Katie exclaimed, as Gabriel's hands fell away from her shoulders.

"Do you have any idea what it is like watching them tear themselves apart? I can't…I can't bear it, okay?" Gabriel cried, hurt clear in his voice.

"Your weak" Castiel announced, as Gabriel's jaw tensed.

"Careful, little brother" Gabriel muttered, turning to him.

"You act as if Sam and Dean Winchester are so insignificant, that their choices mean nothing. Yet they are braver than you'll ever be—" Castiel began, but was cut off as Gabriel lunged at him, grabbing Castiel by the lapels of his trench coat.

"Don't" Gabriel spat off, shoving Castiel away from him.

"Gabe, you could help us. With you on our side…" Katie trailed off, watching him shake his head.

"I just want this to be over" Gabriel exclaimed, his voice breaking halfway through the sentence.

"You can't run from this forever" Katie told him.

"Watch me" Gabriel mumbled, as he went to turn on his heel.

"Aren't you forgetting something? Or someone, should I say?" Katie called after him, as Gabriel came to a halt.

With a sigh, he raised his hand, clicking his fingers, as both Sam and Dean suddenly appeared in front of him, their eyes darting around in confusion.

"Gabriel, just wait…" Katie groaned, as in the blink of an eye, the Archangel disappeared, a sharp gust of wind drifting over them.

"…Did you just say Gabriel?" Sam frowned.

"I can't believe you've been lying to us" Dean muttered, angrily, when they found themselves back in their motel that night.

"What was I supposed to say? Hey, you know that Trickster who used to torment you? Well, he's actually an Angel and been flirting with me—" Katie started, but Sam stopped her.

"He was what?" Sam gaped, in disgust.

"It was very uncomfortable" Castiel agreed, as Dean couldn't stop the smirk that grew on his lips.

"Oh, I bet it was for you" Dean chuckled, as Castiel tilted his head.

"I still think he'll come round. He just needs time" Katie explained, as Dean huffed.

"And that's exactly what we're running out of" Dean pointed out, grabbing his coat and storming towards the door.

"Dean, don't—" Sam began, but was cut off by Dean ripping the motel door open and slamming it closed behind him.

"He's just upset that he didn't get more time with Doctor Sexy" Sam told them, as Katie gave him a sad smile.

"He's right though, Sammy. I should have told you guys. I guess…I just liked having a friend" Katie shrugged.

"Hey, I know this life…it's lonely but…your never gonna' be alone. Not while I'm still around" Sam insisted, patting her on the shoulder, as he walked into the bathroom.

"…Cas, why were you so against what Gabriel was suggesting? I mean, he could be right. What if that's the only way to stop the Apocalypse?" Katie frowned.

"I don't want you to lose who you are either" Castiel answered simply, causing her to look up at him, with wide blue eyes.

"Thanks, Cas. And you know, uh…with the whole Gabriel flirting with me thing…I didn't flirt back…he's not the Angel—" Katie was cut off, as the motel door burst open.

"Was I interrupting something?" Dean questioned, seeing the way Katie was blushing and the way Castiel was rubbing the back of his neck.

"No" Katie and Castiel replied, at the same time.

"I'll just…grab my beer and…yeah…" Dean mumbled, grabbing the bottle, and walking back out, a large grin on his face.

"I'll leave you to get some rest" Castiel said quickly, disappearing before she had time to open her mouth.

"I'm gonna' kill that Winchester one of these days" Katie grumbled, flopping down on her motel bed.

"What are they saying?" Castiel questioned, as he and Katie sat in their newly acquired car, on another demon stake-out.

"They're still arguing about whether pineapple should be a pizza topping" Katie sighed, from where her chin was resting on the dashboard.

She had been listening on and off to the demon's in the house across the street for the last hour, and the only movement they had seen was their pizza delivery. Katie was starting to fall asleep from boredom.

"Have you heard anything from Gabriel?" She inquired, turning to see Castiel shake his head.

"Have you?" Castiel replied.

"Nope. I think he's put me on mute" Katie mumbled, pushing herself upright.

"Did you know him well back…I'm assuming millions of years?" Katie inquired, as Castiel mulled this over.

"We had a few conversations. I was a simple soldier back then and Gabriel was…very different" Castiel told her, with a small smile.

"A mischievous dick even back then?" Katie guessed, as Castiel chuckled.

"I remember the time when he turned Uriel…" Castiel trailed off, the smile falling from his face.

"What's wrong?" Katie asked.

"Uriel was a good friend of mine. He's gone now. Like many of my brothers and sisters. Some from my own hand" Castiel mumbled, guilt clear on his face.

"Hey, don't do that. They made their choice, Cas. You can't blame yourself" Katie insisted, reaching over to place her hand over his own.

"Do you…do you think my Father will forgive me? For the sins, I've committed?" Castiel asked, a sad tone to his voice.

"Isn't he supposed to be all about forgiveness?" Katie pointed out, as Castiel nodded.

"I'm glad you weren't needed on Sam and Dean's latest hunt" Castiel smiled to her, as she pulled her hand away.

"…Right. Lucky" Katie mumbled, looking down at her phone.

She may have ignored the texts from Dean earlier, stating they had received an S.O.S from a prophet called Chuck. Surely, they could deal with it themselves, Katie thought to herself. How was she supposed to turn down spending more time with Cas?

"Hey, uh…you know it doesn't look like any action is gonna' happen here. And…well, I saw there was a nice restaurant across the road. Maybe we could go there for a bit?" Katie asked, nervously.

"We don't need to eat" Castiel stated.

"Sometimes it's nice to do things just because we enjoy them" Katie replied.

"I do enjoy spending time with you" Castiel nodded, as a grin grew on Katie's lips.

"Great. I'll just…" Katie trailed off when they heard Castiel's phone ring.

"Hello, Dean…Yes, she is with me. I see…of course. We will be there immediately" Castiel spoke into the phone, hanging up the call.

"Duty calls, huh?" Katie sighed.

"We can come back" Castiel offered, reaching out to take her hand in his own.

Katie felt her heart beat a little faster as she intertwined their fingers, and in the blink of an eye, they were no longer in the car, but outside a hotel. She was pleased that the dizziness she usually felt whenever Castiel teleported her, didn't seem to appear.

"Are you alright?" Castiel frowned, as Katie nodded.

"Yeah…I feel fine" Katie admitted, as Castiel quickly dropped his hand away.

His frown deepened, as he tilted his head, trying to get a sense of how much of Lucifer's grace she currently had. He was uneasy when he could practically feel the power coming off her in waves, and realised why she wasn't so affected by the teleportation. She was becoming more Angel than demon, he realised.
