Chapter Ten: Can We Stop The Joking?

It's been a few weeks since the entrance exam and neither Kyouka nor Izuku have heard anything from All Might. He seemingly vanished off the face of the Earth. He even stopped coming to their training!

The duo were confused but simply continued on with their training so that they could give it their all, even if UA wasn't for them they'd try other school's. They just had to be heroes. That was all they were sure of.

Now here were the two of them, envelopes in hand with the famous UA wax seal. They had agreed to open their letters together, and here they were at the Midoriya residence, letters in hand.

Izuku gulped, "Th-This is more nerve wracking than I thought it w-would be…"

Kyouka nodded, and looked between both of their letters. They seemed kinda… empty? Though there was something definitely in them.

"Y-You wanna go first?" He asked, turning his head to face her. Kyouka knew that he was simply too afraid of rejection to open his own, but she supposed she could open hers first to ease him.

"S-Sure. A-Ain't got much to lose, right?" She said, ripping over the envelope, and pulling a small metal disc out of it.

All Might's booming voice was then heard as a projection shot out of the disc, scaring both of them. Something they learned about All Might is that he really couldn't contain his voice when he's excited.

"Hello, Young Jirou! You surely surprised the test examiners during the entrance exam, so I commend you for that!" He started, "You scored 20 battle points which isn't quite enough to pass."

Kyouka looked as though she was about to cry, she tried her hardest to do this… Maybe a musician was the path for her to take. Izuku placed a firm grip on her shoulder.

"If battle points are all that's valued on the exam then it's just rigged. Like you said to me, right?" He recited her words to her, hoping to give her encouragement.

"However!" His voice boomed once again, "You didn't think battle points were all the test was worth, did you? You scored about 15 more rescue points for saving people from the zero pointer!"

Kyouka couldn't hold back the dam any longer and tears streamed down her face. She did it, she actually got in!

"Welcome. To your hero academia." He finalized, as the projection shut off. Kyouka's tears kept falling and she smiled brightly as they fell. She got into UA!

Izuku smiled at the girl's tears of joy, but was rightfully surprised when she jumped into his arms. She embraced the boy tightly in pure excitement, and they were quick to realize the situation.

"D-Don't think anything about this, I'm j-just really happy." She said, making Izuku chuckle. "It's thanks to you that I got this opportunity."

That confused Izuku, he hadn't really done anything aside from train with her, but he knew she had what it took to be a hero from the start.

"W-What do you mean?" He questioned, releasing the girl from his grasp on her. She just shook her head.

"Don't worry about it, greenie. I-It's your turn anyways, open up that letter and get into UA with me!" She answered, nudging him towards his unopened envelope. She smiled at him, and gave him a determined look.

"Fine, fine." He said, ripping open the envelope sloppily. The projection disk fell onto his desk, and out popped All Might's booming voice once again.

"YOUNG MIDORIYA!" He shouted into the camera, making both teens flinch at his volume. He really needed to learn to control his damn volume!

All Might cleared his throat, "S-Sorry, Young Midoriya. I was just very excited to hear about your score! You really do follow after your hero's footsteps!" He started, pressing a button on a remote.

An image of the leaderboard from the entrance exam popped up on the screen and there in first place was Izuku Midoriya's name. Both Izuku's and Kyouka's eyes widened at the test results, Bakugou was beneath him.

'Serves him right.' Kyouka noted in her head, resisting the urge to say it aloud. Izuku really placed first place, above someone who hated his guts.

"41 Battle points, and 60 hero points! Young Midoriya, you have outdone yourself with an overall score of; 101 points! You're the top ranker in the entrance exam!" He stated, laughing.

Izuku's brain had stopped working after that point as it seemed like his soul left his body. He excelled, and even managed to beat Bakugou in the long run! His face brightened with a shaky smile.

"You have exceeded my expectations once again, Young Midoriya. You are truly deserving for your acceptance." He said, turning to face the camera once again. "Welcome to your hero academia!"

Kyouka swiftly turned to Izuku whose face was adorned with that shaky smile of pure joy. The two smiled ear to ear at one another and started laughing and screaming simultaneously.

"We did it!" Izuku shouted, overjoyed at their dual acceptance. Kyouka squealed and jumped into the boy's arms once again, and he welcomed it by lifting her up and spinning her around.

The two teens were on cloud nine, and as Izuku placed Kyouka back on her two feet, the duo stared each other in the eyes. Their smiles never leave their faces.

The two teens didn't even realize how close they were together, they simply got lost in the moment. They had light blushes on their faces, but they had seemingly started to inch closer to one another.

Then Inko Midoriya rushes into the room, after hearing them go quiet. "I-Is everything okay in here? D-Did you guy's get i-" She starts to say before becoming a witness to whatever was about to go down in there.

"O-Oh, a-am I i-interrupting s-something?" She stutters out. All three of their faces turn bright red, and Kyouka swiftly regains herself before Izuku.

She quickly shoves Izuku away, "N-No! W-We were just c-celebrating g-getting into UA! N-Nothing was h-happening!"

Izuku nods to his mother, who starts to calm down and smiles at the two of them, although she knows that if she left them alone in the moment something would've gone down. "W-Well, congratulations to you two! You did it! Izuku honey I was planning on making Katsudon if you passed, why don't you invite Jirou-san to stay for dinner and celebrate with us!"

Inko smiled at the two before exiting the room, and shutting the door behind her. "Ah, those kids…" She'd say under her breath as the door closes.

The two then looked at one another and blushed at what had just transpired. 'Let's just try to not think about it.' The two teens simultaneously thought.

"S-So, would you want to stay and c-celebrate?" Izuku asked, wanting to break the tension. He knew that they needed a bit of an icebreaker, he wasn't even sure what that was.

It was like a compelling feeling to be close to Kyouka, but it was oddly nice. Maybe she felt it too? It was probably just because he liked her company though.

"O-Oh… I would, but my parents wanted me to celebrate at home with them." She answered, feeling bummed that she couldn't spend a bit more time with Izuku.

Lately she's just been getting addicted to being around the boy. They had been having so much fun these past few days and every time she found herself away from the boy she felt as though she was missing something.

Not only that but her own insecurities had only gone away when Izuku was around with her. It made her feel such a nice sense of security and confidence. He was a nice source of positive emotions for her.

Izuku looked saddened as well, "Ah, I see… W-Well that makes sense…" He said, before suddenly perking up at an idea. Though maybe this was a long shot.

"W-Wait! Why not just invite them over to celebrate with us? Y-Your mom's already gotten along with mine, p-plus we're already close so it would be fine, r-right?" His suggestion surprised Kyouka. That did mean inviting her father, and she was sure he was aware of that.

But she had to admit it could work, "I-I mean I could ask? My dad might protest but my mom could probably convince him."

Kyouka pulled out her phone and quickly sent a text over to her mother to see if such a plan was feasible.

Mika had received the text while she was working and was quite appalled at the suggestion her daughter had made. She did know her father would freak out over this, right?

Perhaps this would be as good a time as any to have Kyoutoku meet Midoriya-kun. She'd definitely make sure that Kyouka owed her one for this though. She doesn't do stuff like this for free.

Mika sighed, and agreed. She had taken a liking to the Midoriya's, admittedly, so she supposed having a nice dinner together between her daughter's boyfriend and his family would be nice.

She excuses herself from the studio for a moment, and calls her husband Kyoutoku to see if he would agree to have dinner with the Midoriya's. She did know however she'd have to agree to let him intimidate the boy, though. Her husband really was a bit too predictable.

Let's just hope Kyoutoku isn't too difficult about all of this.

"...She actually said yes." Kyouka revealed. She was truly shocked that her mom agreed. This was definitely going to come with a cost though, but she knew that this was going to be worth it.

"M-My mom said she had gotten extra so we have enough food for everyone." Izuku said, re-entering his room. "H-Has your mom answered yet?"

"Ah, yeah. She said that it's a good idea, and she'll try to convince my dad." Kyouka answered. Izuku's face showed pure excitement, and she couldn't help but find it simply adorable.

The duo decided to continue on with their guitar lessons until the time for dinner was upon them. This was definitely going to be a celebration to remember, Izuku had no idea that this would be something he wouldn't soon forget.

Izuku really had improved at guitar in such a short amount of time. It seemed that with him he really did learn faster when he was having fun, or doing something he really enjoyed.

This really helped in his pursuit to be a hero, as well as his pursuit to hangout with Kyouka, but she didn't need to know that.

As time passed Kyouka's parents decided to make quite the entrance, and we have Kyoutoku to thank for that. The Jirou's really were a bit eccentric compared to what Izuku and his mother were used to.

"Alright, where's the fool that's dating my daughter!" He shouts, scaring Inko as she was the one to answer the door. Mika simply looks over the man's shoulder and gives an apologizing look to the woman.

Kyouka sighed, a blush present on her face because of her father's comment. "Here we go… Brace yourself, Izu." She warned, as the two left his room, and entered the threshold.

"Kyouka! What are you doing alone in that boy's room!?" His booming voice made Izuku visibly shrink, why was he so angry!? They weren't even dating! (Yet.)

"Oi, shut it old man! You're only gonna scare poor, !" She pointed to the short woman, who had been cowering by Mika. That in itself made Izuku gain some sort of confidence against the man.

No one messes with the mamas-boy's mom. " , Jirou-san's a good friend of mine. I'd appreciate it if you quit your assumptions and stop scaring my mother." He voiced. His glare was present on his face, he had even walked up to the man to face him head-on.

Kyoutoku smiled, the kid had guts. Good. "Good to see you're not a wuss. I like you kid, what's your name again? Isaka?"

Kyouka and Mika both facepalmed. How could he get his name wrong like that!?

Izuku smiled at the man, and shook his head. "Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you." He corrected, holding his hand out for a handshake.

"Pleasure's all mine. Please, call me Kyoutoku. makes me sound old!" He laughed, and shook the boy's hand. "But you sure, you're just friends? She talks about you a lot y'know-" He whispers to the boy.

Kyouka and Mika both obviously heard him, the former giggling while Kyouka went ballistic. She stormed up to her father and glared angrily as her jacks shot up at him.

"DAD!" She screeches, as her face erupted into a red color. "Ugh! You're the worst!"

Kyouka had tried to hide her face in her hands, to which Izuku simply chuckled at her embarrassment. Her jacks had started flailing wildly in embarrassment and Izuku couldn't help but find it cute.

'At least I'm not the only one.' He thought, remembering how his mother shared the same fact before.

The group had then spent the night celebrating and having a nice dinner, served by the two mothers present. It was definitely a well-deserved feast for what the two future heroes had accomplished, and for what was to come for them.

At some point during the celebration Izuku had ended up alone with Kyoutoku, outside the apartment and looking over the railing.

"You two really make a nice couple." Kyoutoku admitted. Izuku flinched at the man's assumption and waved his hands in denial. How long was he going to assume they were dating?

"N-No, sir! M-Me and Jirou-san a-aren't like that-" He tried to defend, but the man glared, shutting the green-haired boy up. It seemed his shyness had returned, and all that confidence had left him.

Kyoutoku sighed. Could this kid be any denser? "Can we stop the joking, kid? You're fooling no one but yourself."

Kyoutoku shook his head at the boy. This would definitely be a slow development for these two, especially seeing how shy his daughter is.

"You two like each other." He stated bluntly. "And as much as I'm not a fan of my daughter dating anyone, you seem like a nice kid. Even if you do stay as 'just friends', be good to each other. Be good to her, she's a rambunctious girl. She needs someone to look out for her. Only when she needs it though, she's a tough one." He sighed and crossed his arms over the guard rail.

Izuku stared at the man, a serious look adorning his face. Kyoutoku sighed again.

"But seriously you guys are so obvious. It's as plain as day." He said, laughing at the boy and breaking the tension. Izuku blushed and tried to sputter out some form of denial, which only made the man laugh harder.

"Ahh… Just promise me you'll be there for her, yeah? Don't go breakin' her heart, or else you'll have to answer to me." He glared at the boy, who only nodded. "And another thing… Don't ruin a friendship because a relationship doesn't work out. You'll regret it."

Izuku stared at the mom, taking in his advice. What was that supposed to mean? It seemed like he wanted them to get together but now he's warning him not to ruin their friendship?

'Wait he said Kyouka likes me!?' His face erupted, as the older man went back inside.

The boy composed himself and looked out to the setting sun, the wind blowing his curly hair around idly. He started to think about the incoming future that he would have at UA. And possibly even with Kyouka...

"It's a pretty sight isn't it?" He heard the aforementioned girl's voice say. The boy jolted slightly out of surprise and turned to the girl as she stared off into the sunset. She stared somewhat longingly at the sunset.

"Wh-What're you doing out here?" He questioned. Kyouka turned to him, and stared at him blankly. She took in his nervous form, and freckled face. He really was too cute.

She smiled, "My old man said you were still out here when I asked, so I thought I'd come out and hangout for a bit."

Honestly that was half right, she had been looking for him due to her missing his company. Her mother was teasing her and she just wanted to get away and be with the boy as embarrassing as that is to admit.

Izuku couldn't help but smile back at her, only letting out a simple, "I see" as they both turned back to the sunset. Izuku glanced over to her and his eye's traced her form up and down. He admittedly was checking her out, but it was more so to admire the girl that he longed for.

Kyouka's hair blew in the wind, as her eyes were illuminated with the light of the sunset. Izuku took notice of her features; he determined she really was a beautiful girl. If he could he would definitely take a picture, he could make this his phone background or just stare at it for hours.

"It really is beautiful isn't it?" Kyouka said, as she stared off into the sunset. Izuku couldn't help but take in all of the girl's beauty as he really started to appreciate her. In all that they've been through she was always the one to support his endeavors. She really was too invaluable to him.

Kyoutoku's word's had repeated in the back of the boy's head, as he exhaled softly through his nose. She was someone to be cherished, and he would make sure of it.

He turned his head back to the sunset, as his eyes lingered on Kyouka. He sighed.

"Yeah… Really beautiful."

AAAND That's chapter ten, folks (3,120 words).

Kyouka and Izuku passed the entrance exam, and were able to celebrate together!
Izuku's fated meeting with Kyoutoku has happened, and he gave quite some interesting advice.

With this chapter my focus was some light fluff as well as a sort of stepping stone into their new life as hero trainees, and a building block to their inevitable relationship with one another.

All in all I hope you guys enjoy the chapter, and please leave some reviews for me so I can improve in the future.
