I don't own Danny Phantom or Bolt, or any Easter eggs I put in.
Only this plot.
Road trip
As the moving truck was going down the highway with Danny and... a knocked out Sam in the back, (That was very weird to write, O.O SURE HOPE I DON'T GET IN TROUBLE FOR THAT!) on their way to back to Hollywood. But back at DP's studio's production, the show was put on hold since their Star had escap-... Oops! I mean, ran away the night before. Everyone was in a panic and looking frantically for Danny, especially his family.
Jazz and Maddie were in the RV siting on the couch/backseat comforting each other as they waited for some news about were he could have gone. As Jack was out looking for him or any information with the other actors and workers.
Jazz was looking at the many pictures they she and Danny had taken together at the end of ever episode shooting, Maddie held her close trying her best to stop her daughter and herself from crying. Ever since they heard that Danny had gotten lost. Both parents became a worried mess, especially poor Jazz who almost had a panic attack.
But just as she was about pick up another photo in a desperate attempt for comfort and poof that this was all a just nightmare. The door opened to reveal Jazz's agent walking in with a big smile.
"I have got some good news."
"Really?" Jazz gasped as she jumped out of her mother's arms and almost off her seat. Hope started to rise in their chests as their hearts beat widely, was Danny found? Was he all right? What had happened to him?
"Yes, I do." He laughed, "I just booked you on The Tonight Show, lead guest."
And just like that the small flame of Hope that had come alive in both of the Fenton woman were blown out.
Seeing the look of utter defeat and depression on Jazz's face (and the death glare Maddie was giving him), he quickly lost his smile and stupid happy demeanor.
"Which means just absolutely nothing, Danny is still missing. It's not even good news, like, "Whatever, "So what?"" He babbled. "The Tonight Show, who cares? I don't care."
As he walked off towards the front of the RV feeling embarrassment, Maddie gently rubbed Jazz on her back in soothing circles as Jazz held up the photo they were looking at before.
"It's okay, baby." She cooed softly.
"He must be so scared and confused." Jazz's voiced, barely above a whisper.
"Scared? Well, this is Danny we're talking about. He's not scared of anything."
After hearing her mother's words in their usual strong and kind voice, Jazz looked up and smiled a little. Danny never really was afraid of anything ever since he started to believe he had powers.
"I bet Danny would want you to do The Tonight Show." The agent spoke up breaking the moment receiving both a strange and angry face from the both of them
He cleared his throat grabbing one of the controllers to the game Doom, toying with it a little bit. "Or maybe not."
Maddie sighed but spoke again as she hugged Jazz tightly around her shoulders. "Danny loves you very much, sweetie, and you're here." she placed her hand on Jazz's that was holding the picture as they both looked at the smiling faces of the brother and sister.
"He couldn't have gone far."
After a couple of hours of driving, the moving truck had arrived in Ohio. In the back, Danny was siting on the same green couch that had made it possible for them to sneak on in first place, with a now awake (Still feels weird writing that down!) Sam digging through the boxes of belongings.
At first Danny wouldn't allow it but she told him that she wouldn't take anything and was just curious, not to mention she was getting bored with his silence. So after getting him to finally break, she started looking to see if there was possibly anything that could help her escape, like a pair of scissors to help maybe cut the rope around her waist. At least that's what she was aiming for.
But she still couldn't really take the silence. "So, if you got Ghost powers, I guess that would make you, what, like, some kind of dead superhero?" She tried asking.
"That information's classified." Danny grumbled back crossing his arms over his chest.
"Come on. Like, what's your best power?" She question again. "Your go-to move. How about flying? Can you fly?"
Danny blushed a little, according to the charts Jazz had made of his powers he couldn't really fly since he was only half ghost. Telling this to one of Vlad's henchmen was kind of embarrassing for him.
"Well, act-... actually, I'm only part ghost, so I can't really fly that well..." He stuttered out.
"Okay, okay, fine." Sam said as she pulled a toothbrush out of one the boxes. "Just because you have powers doesn't mean you have to be good with them. But hey, what's it to me?"
Now feeling a little bit more embarrassed and a bit underestimated, he thought about one special power he did have. "I have a ghostywail."
"A ghostywail?" Sam asked trying to sound like she totally believed him, holding up a bowling trophy and wondering if maybe it could help with her escaping by knocking Danny out long enough for her to get untied and make a run for it. "Wow! You're kidding me."
She then looked up and spotted a baseball bat peeking out of an open box on the very top of the stack. "Bingo!" She thought. Quickly dropping the trophy back into the box she started to climb very carefully up to grab it.
"What exactly does one do with a ghostlywail?"
"I-... I really can't talk about it. It's classified." Danny answered, putting a strong front back on as he sat up straight. "So I suggest you pipe down and take me to Jazz."
"You're awfully attached to this Jazz character, huh, clueless?" Sam questioned, putting on an act that she was still listening as she sneaked over behind Danny, tripping a little over a box and almost dropping the bat.
"She's my sister. The only family I got left until we can both rescue our parents and stop Vlad from completing his evil plan."
Oh, please. Family is just another word for a group of people." Sam said lifting the bat to take a hit. "And if you ask me the only good type of people are-"
She was cut off when the truck rolled over a big bump causing her to lose her footing and fall backwards causing some boxes to fall down on top of her. One of the box flew open and fell on Danny spilling something all over him, he was stunned for a few seconds but when he realized what it was, he panicked.
"Styrofoam!" He screamed and quickly jumped off the couch, turning the latch that was holding the door closed open, he calling over his shoulder for Sam to tuck and roll!
She grunted as she threw boxes off of herself and tried to find the bat that she had dropped but froze when his words sunk in.
"Tuck and what?"
Before she could ask any more questions she was pulled out of the truck by the rope as Danny jumped out of the fast moving vehicle, causing them both to tumble down a hill at the side of the road. When they came to a stop they both laid there in pain from all of the bruises and scrapes they had gotten.
"Ow!" Danny sat up and checked himself over finding that he now had small cuts and tears in his jumpsuit, looking at his hands too, he found one long but thankfully not too deep of a cut bleeding in his left palm.
But the strange thing was that it wasn't bleeding the color of green he recognized as ectoplasm, but instead of the color red like... "What?"
"It's called blood, hero!" Sam spat out at him as she checked over her own wounds.
"I know what it is!"
"Then you should know that if you want to keep it inside your body, where it belongs, you should should stop jumping off trucks doing 80 on the interstate!" She stood up glaring at him with red hot anger in her eyes. Now at this point she looked like she had a full-on intent to kill him with just her bare hands.
"Yeah, well, normally I bleed ectoplasm because of my ghost-half." Danny explained, as he wasn't looking at her since he was still looking at all of the scratches now bleeding actual human blood. "Plus I'm a tad more indestructible."
He turn toward her, "Must've been the..."
Suddenly he gasped jumping back with fear flushing in his acid green eyes. "Styrofoam! That stuff, it weakens me."
Sam looked at him with the same what the heck is wrong with you look, but She then looked back down to the styrofoam packing peanut laying innocently and quickly realized now was her chance.
So taking her crazy idea, she quickly picked it up and pointed it at him. "Ah-ha!"
"What are you doing? Put that down!"
"All right, that's it." Sam threatened. "I've had it with you. Untie me, freak!"
She took a step closer to Danny as he tried to cower away.
"Or I'm gonna... I'm gonna..." She paused looking down at the styrofoam feeling ridiculous and a little lost of what she was doing. "I'm going to seriously wound you!"
Danny yelped and jumped back and almost brought a chuckle out of her, but she got right back on and more into the act. "I'm going to seriously wound you with this styrofoam."
Danny started to back away in a circle trying to get as much distance between him and the terrifying pink little monstrosity that the Goth held.
"Are you mad? You don't know the power of styrofoam."
"Oh, you bet I'm mad, baby, and I'm about to unleash it." Sam then tried her most menacing evil villain voice as she got closer to Danny, shoving the fake peanut in his face. "The power of the styrofoam."
"Whoa! All right, spy! Okay. You win. I'll untie you." Danny pleaded holding an arm out to shield himself. Sam smirked at her victory and just as Danny was reaching out to undo the rope around her waist he looked off into the distance with a confused face.
"That's a weird place to put a pineapple."
Catching Sam off guard as she looked to see where he was looking, he quickly karate chopped the styrofoam out of her hand and pinned her down to the ground.
"Are we gonna have any more problems, sneak thief?" He asked in his deep and angry voice leaning down close to her ear.
Sam already feeling stupid for falling for the oldest trick in the book looked up scared and in defeat. "No! No, no. No more problems. I'll take you to Jazz."
Feeling that she got the message, Danny got up, but then smelt something in the air... something good... He took a couple more sniffs, it was something like...
Quite suddenly a loud growling noise came out of his stomach, he screamed and quickly jump back wrapping his arms around his torso. "What is that!?"
"What?" Sam asked standing up and brushing the dirt off of her.
The growling sound came again, now drawing her attention.
"That! Okay." Danny glared at her accusingly. "You have two seconds to tell me what you implanted in me, spy!"
"Impl- what?" Sam question herself, he got more weirder and weirder it seemed by the second.
Danny then started to question her. "Poison? A parasite? Poison?" He paused, "Oh, no, I just said that didn't I? See, I'm all discombobulated! I can't think straight."
"I don't believe this." Sam shook her head, and thought it must have been nice to have never felt the pain of starving before. "You're hungry."
Danny's stomach growled again, he tugged on the rope surprising and both choking Sam a little bit as he brought her closer.
"Where is the antidote?"
"Okay, okay! All right."
After a bit of time tracking down the smell, Sam and Danny came across a strange place with a whole bunch of people dressed as different superheroes and villains. Sam knew that they had just walked upon some simple little sci-fi and comic book convention that just happened to have some food that definitely didn't look free nor cheap, but to Danny they had just come across a base of some sort for people like him!
"There's your antidote. Food." Sam said
Danny was still standing there shocked and surprised at all the people there, wondering what they were doing, and why he had never heard or seen any of them. None of this was adding up for him!
"Maybe..." He thought, "Maybe they can help me!"
"Spy, what is this place? Danny asked Sam as they watched three geeks dressed as villains walk in. "Are they heroes too? Can they help me?"
Sam wasn't really surprised that he would ask her this. It was pretty clear now that he had no idea what the difference was between reality and the fantasy he was living in. Thinking about how she could explain this to him, she wondered if she should even try to tell him the truth or to just let him believe that this was all real.
"Maybe I can use this to my advantage?" She questioned in her head, but looking at Danny who had hopeful eyes wide with wonder made her rethink. "He acts like a little confused child sometimes, and it's kind of sad..."
Sam quickly shook her head. "Did I just seriously feel pity for the guy who is pretty much kidnapping me against my own well!"
Then again, thinking more on what would happen if he did try to recruit some of these people and possibility make a big scene out of it if they tried to talk some sense into him would lead to them both being throw out or worse... thrown in jail. She decide that it would be better off letting him off easy then getting stuck behind bars with him.
"No- I mean yes... Well..." Sam was having a hard time trying to explain this to a... big kid.
"They are actually fans!" Danny just give her a confused look. "You know, people who really like shows, books, or even comic books and do things to tribute them. As in getting together and dressing up as their favorite heroes or villains and collecting collectibles like here ."
Sam now give him a confused and censured look. "You do know about some of these things right?"
Danny thought back to before he had gotten his ghost powers and even a little bit after he did. He had some comic books, some action figures he would read and play with, and even some favorite cartoons he loved to watch too.
Sadly after he did get ghost powers he didnt get much time to play and relax like he used to. He would either be traning or doing his homeschool work. However he was okay with it, he could save the world and keeo his family safe... Well atleast untill he got back to Jazz.
"Of cousre I have, Its just..." He traied off, but then went quiet. Seeing that he wasn't going to talk about what was on his mind, Sam took that as her cure to think of a plan of how they could feed themselfves.
Thinking over their advangetives and what they could work with Sam looked back at Danny then looked back to the large crowed of geeks. And just like that a plan had fromed.
"Hey." She said making Danny turn to her.
"Okay, if you want the fo-... The antidote, you're gonna have to do exacty what I say." Sam stated, if he really wanted the food, then he would let her take the lead for a change.
Danny exhaled deeply out through his teeth, shaking his head no. "No. Not not likely. You're a degenerate creature of darkness."
"Yeah, yeah. Granted. But, that said, all I'm aksing you to do is to give me your best victory smile. You know, your heroic look. You can do that, can't ya? Come on."
Beaking under her pleading and seeing as it wouldn't cause any harm, he did try to think of a look, he never really did have a pose like the heroes in his old comic books. So he did (to the best of his applyutes) try one by smiling.
"More."
He forced the smile a little bit more, making it as big as he could.
"More."
Finally he grew inpatint, "This is stupid."
"No, no, no, come on. Work with me on this, please. You're almost there." Sam pleaded again.
"Oh, boy." Denny then tilted his head a little and with a stagnant expression.
"Okay. Try it the other way."
He did as she asked. "There you go. Tilt up. Down. Now a little smile." He tried but the smile looked a bit awkward. "Eeehhh, lose the smile."
Sam thought a bit more and suddenly thought of a pose he could maybe try to see if it would fit. "Hold on, look up to the light."
He did but kept his eyes on her. "Now ever so slightly, look up as if you were facing off with someone."
Danny stalled for a moment trying to picture Vlad standing right in front of them smirking down at him. With new determination, Danny looked back with anger and no fear, finally pulling off the look Sam was desperately looking for.
"Soup is on, baby!"
So after getting and pulling off the look, Sam explained the plan and of how they would go in, acting like just some geeks in costumes to fit in. As Danny would distract them, Sam would snag some food and maybe a little bit of money for them just in case.
Danny of course, did not like the idea of stealing at all and tryed to think of a better way. However, Sam did tell him that either way they would off being more hungry then they did in the first place.
So after much bickering and arm-twisting, Danny agreed to go through with it, but on account that as soon as they were done with their mission they would come back and pay back for all they stole.
After reluctantly untying her, they begin, and stole two entrance passes from some unsuspecting geeks that were just leaving.
At first, it was bit strange and weird for Danny. He never really did go out and interact with people because of the fear they would turn him away or worse turn him into the government for experiments, lots and lots of painful experiments that the GIW threatened him with for being a half-ghost, and it was even more strange with this particular crowd.
Then as they got more in to it, he started to have some fun with it. Meeting and talking to new and interesting people, seeing cool and odd things here and there, and of course seeing some big time hero actors that he recognized when he did take some time to actually watch some TV.
He even completely forgot about his guilt of Sam stealing some food and money for them.
Which wasn't very hard for Sam, true it was sometimes hard to pick out the costume that did look like it have a pocket for the wearer to put his or her wallet in, but she would just a couple of twenties and hundreds out of the wallet and put it back in the pocket.
She made it a rule to never take all of the money, but just enough that she figured she needed.
After snagging a big bag from the gift shop, she went to work at getting them food. Which consisted of salads and a couple of fancy looking sandwiches along with some horderves, with just a little bit of small dessert cakes thrown in there too.
There were then very close calls to where Sam almost did get caught, but they got away scot-free. There were also times where it seemed like someone really did almost recognize Danny, but of course Sam wasn't really paying attention and Danny would just try to act it off.
This did make him concerned though, no one was supposed to know his identity, no one was supposed to know he even existed.
Luckily no one there was dressed up as Danny Phantom so things didn't get too confusing. After a bit, Sam knew it was time to take their leave and give a signal to Danny.
Danny was a little bit sad that they had to leave, for this was the first time in like... forever he had done something that was a different kind of fun!
But he quickly got his head back on to the mission at hand. Jazz needed him, he couldn't just stay here and play around. So after making their way out of the building and giving the guards their passes, they went into the woods surrounding the place to hide and eat.
What they didn't now was that they were being watched by one lone geek (with quite a lot of technology on him), that regized Danny and followed them!
Hey guys sorry I've been gone for so long. I promised myself I wouldn't do that but I seem to have failed that, a lot of bad things have happened this year as you know and I lost a family number thankfully not due to the virus but it just happened so fast.
Not to mention I've kind of hit writer's block and felt empty a lot.
I've also been feeling like every new chapter I do write up isn't good enough so I try to hold it back and read over it, add a few new things or take away some things, even completely deleting it and start over again.
And I have been trying to come up with other story ideas and that's kind of held me back for a while.
I now have the inspiration back to start writing but I don't know how long I'll update because school is at least trying to get start up again and who knows maybe that will really get me into gear to start writing like I did before.
So please know that I am very sorry and I will try very hard to get it all together and get some stories finished for you guys to enjoy, if you are enjoying them that is.
Also please, I am still new to this and I would really like you guys to review anything I might be doing wrong with like my spelling or the way I write, it helps me to get better.
Anyway, love you guys, until the next chapter and thank you for all of your support for this story!
