"Okay, Emilie," Emma said to herself, powering on her laptop."You have four days to submit your entry and possibly get a scholarship so this has to be good."
Hugo dished out croissants to everyone, almost everyone still silent as they began to ate.
Emma stared at the screen, unable to think up a single idea."Ugh!" she groaned, smashing her head against the keyboard.
"I feel the pain," Alya sighed, recalling the stress of entering any sort of writing contest.
"What's wrong, Emmy?" Louis asked, walking over to his older sister's desk.
"He's so cute," Rose exclaimed.
"He's like a mini Adrien," Alix added.
"Nothing, just going through writer's block," she said, watching as her brother climbed onto her bed.
"What's that?" he asked cutely.
Emma sighed, leaning back in her chair."It means I can't think of what to write."
"Oh," Louis said."Well when I can't do my homework, Mommy makes me a snack."
"Too sweet," Alya smiled.
Emma smiled."That sounds good Louis but I have to meet up with my friends." she turned toward her alarm clock, going white when she saw the time."Ah right now!"
"It's hilarious how much she's like you," Alya said.
The screen changed showing Alaina hitting a soccer ball on her head."32, 33, 34," Salem counted, bobbing her head as she watched.
"Damn she's good," Kim said.
"I'm here!" Emma shrieked, startling Alaina and causing her to drop the ball.
"Oh come on Em! I was about to beat my record." Alaina complained.
"Sorry," she gasped, exhausted."Was... working... on... my entry... lost track... of time."
"Having Deja vu Mare?" Alya asked.
"Will you quit it?!" Marinette shotued, extremely annoyed.
"It's okay, we're still waiting on Amber," Salem assured her.
"So where are we going?" Melody questioned, confused about what she was doing there.
"Well Sale here is a little mini star," Alaina said, nudging the redhead in the arm.
"Intriguing," Max hummed, analyzing the situation too much for his own good.
"I am not," she said, going red in the cheeks.
"It's cute how embarrassed she is," Rose stated.
"Oh really... then tell me about this coffee shop that asked you, in particular, to sing at their karaoke night?"Alaina said a sly smile on her face.
"Good for her," Alya said.
"Really?" Melody and Emma asked in sync.
"That's great," Emma exclaimed but soon sighed."Not interesting enough."
"Rude much," Alaina frowned.
"And she seemed polite," Alix chuckled.
"What no not that," Emma interjected."I have to enter my submission for this huge writing contest in four days and I have no clue what to write about."
"Well, nowhere's better than a coffee shop," Salem said, grabbing her arm.
"Fact," Alya stated.
"What about Amber?" Melody asked as they started walking towards the coffee shop.
"She had something come up with her mom, she won't make it," Alaina explained as they began towards the busy coffee shop. Alaina and Salem went on the mission to snag a table while Melody and Emma walked up to the counter.
"What are you getting," Emma asked, repeating Alaina and Salem's orders.
"Nothing," she answered."What are you thinking of writing on your submission?"
"I have no idea," Emma sighed.
"What does it have to be about?" she asked, waiting as Emma told the cashier their orders.
"Anything, there are different spots like article, assessment, free write, narrative," she said, taking the three hot chocolates, handing one to Melody to carry.
"You said you typically write your own stories so why not make a shorter one," she suggested.
"Like a short story?" she asked, Melody, nodded. Emma thought over it, smiling in excitement."Yes! That's perfect," she announced as they sat down t the table with Alaina."Thanks,"
"Don't mention it," Melody said, handing Alaina her drink.
"You didn't get anything? This place has the best drinks." Alaina stated, taking a long sip.
"I think I went there the other day or a newer version of it," Marinette said."It is really good."
"They smell good but I'm good," she said, turning up to the place where the karaoke was taking place."When is Salem going up?"
"In a minute, hey Em, what did Aunt Marinette say?" she asked.
Emma smiled sending a thumbs up her way."All good."
"What?" Melody asked, confused.
Emma opened the mouth to explain but one of the employees announced they were starting." I'll tell you later." she said, in the notes part of her phone, scrolling through her hundreds of story ideas.
"Suspicious," Kim hummed.
"She's gonna have a hard time deciding I tell you that," Alya said from personal experience.
I hope to include Louis again, he's so cute! Finally chose an ending! God can't wait to write it but that is a long way away. Next chapter should be out soon because one of my favorite characters in this story enters the scene.
