Hello everyone. It's me, Broncozfan623. It's been a while since I've posted an update to "Warriors of the Light" or "Soldier of Darkness - Final Mix", and today I'm here to explain why.
The simple reason is...I'm burnt out.
I've been writing about Kingdom Hearts since April of 2017. We're coming up on the four year anniversary of my first KH fanfic, "Kingdom Hearts: The Soldier of Darkness". I've had not a single regret about what I've done with the series and I have no plans to abandon my projects for it.
But I'd be lying to you and to myself if I didn't say I wasn't burnt out. After you do something for as long as you have, you get tired of it eventually. Unfortunately, I feel like I've finally hit a limit.
So I'll be taking an extended break from writing anything Kingdom Hearts related, at least for a little bit. Like I said before, I don't plan on abandoning "The Soldier of Darkness" series. I've still got a whole lot of story to tell with "Warriors" and the Final Mix version of the original, plus a whole new story to conclude it all once "Warriors" is finally wrapped up.
I'm not gonna stop writing fanfiction. It's been an avenue for me to grow as a member of the Kingdom Hearts community and I plan to continue writing on here and Archives of Our Own until I can no longer type onto a keyboard. For now though, I'll be branching out.
My first ever story was a crossover fic of "Call of Duty: Ghosts" and "The Last of Us", and I've been planning for a while to revive that story and completely rebuild it from the ground up, much like with TSODFM. I've also planned to continue with "Sonic: Starlight" along with some other potential projects after that.
But for now, I'm gonna have to say "See you later" to Kirux and his stories. I'll be back to finish them when I feel that I'm ready to continue.
