The computers were always free at lunch time, the whole department went out to eat around one o'clock for about an hour which gave Sasuke more than enough time to run Mai's number through the system. From what he found it looked like she had recently moved to a new address. Sasuke wondered if that meant she was living with her boyfriend and for a moment started to question what he was actually doing. Not only were his actions morally wrong but he wasn't supposed to run a number if it wasn't connected for work. Was he really putting his job on the line just to get laid? When he thought about it like that he began to doubt himself. It would take him a few weeks but eventually he knew he would be able to forget about Mai, he could go back to his mundane life, working more than he was home and spending his free time pretending to care about picking out a new lamp for the house or dealing with the mind numbing boredom of spending a weekend with the in laws. No, he needed this. He needed to feel that rush again even if he couldn't get into her bed.
That evening Sasuke found himself staking out an apartment, something he had done a hundred times before. This time was a little different though, the girl inside had done nothing wrong except catch his attention. His stomach started to grumble and he realised he had been so preoccupied in how his evening was going to play out that he hadn't eaten since breakfast.
The car Mai's boyfriend had driven to pick her up from the beach wasn't parked outside. That gave him hope, at least something had worked out for him so far. From the front of the building however the lights in the apartment were off, which could mean she was sleeping and he didn't want to be that kind of guy. As much as he wanted her, there was no way he was going to creep into her home while she was asleep. He wasn't that besotted...yet. He stuck his hand into his pocket and ran his fingers over her panties. From that alone he felt himself getting hard.
After debating what to do in his mind for over an hour he finally got out of his car and made his way into the foyer. A light automatically came on, almost making him jump. She was in apartment one hundred and eighty, which turned out to be on the third floor. The plain black door gave no inclination of the person that lived inside, there wasn't even a welcome mat outside. Mai was like that though, she didn't seem like she readily welcomed people into her home or her life.
His first knock was barely audible, his second was not much better but he was struggling to find a middle ground between a soft tap and hammering on the door. After four unanswered knocks, he tried once more, this time much, much louder. He held his breath in the silence that followed, picturing the look of surprise and hopefully joy on her face when she found him standing in the hall. Unfortunately he never got to find out what her reaction would have been because she didn't answer.
Standing alone in the hall with a sense of defeat, Sasuke decided he had two simple options- try again another day or break into her home. He quickly decided that he'd come this far, he might as well add breaking and entering to the list as well.
From the details on the computer, he knew Mai had been living in the apartment he was now standing inside for three months. A few months was definitely long enough to unpack but she had several stacks of boxes dotted around. He knew better than to turn on the light so visibility wasn't great but from what he could make out the whole apartment barely looked lived in. The moon shone through her bedroom window, illuminating her large bed. He couldn't resist running his hand over the white duvet, imagining her naked underneath it waiting for him. Stuffing his hand into his pocket, he withdrew her panties. He could still smell her on them. Still clutching them, he put his hand into his trousers and started rubbing them against his painfully hard erection. This was how it would feel to fuck her, he could just push her panties aside to enter her, feel the friction of them against his dick.
Somehow he managed to get a hold of himself before he exploded into the gift he was returning to her. He didn't want to go that far yet. He placed them on her pillow and left. The next move was hers.
Nearly a week had passed since breaking into Mai's apartment and Sasuke was frustrated to say the least. He was frustrated waiting for Mai and full of so much pent up frustration that he was constantly in a bad mood. Sex with his wife didn't cut it, neither did his own hand. As he drove home from work he tried to focus on how he was going to spend his Saturday off with Sarada instead of the negative emotions swirling into a storm inside him.
Mai pretended to admire her surroundings, she complimented the decor and feigned amazement at the designer sofa she was being shown whilst discreetly checking out the photos hanging on the wall. Her eyes were drawn to the dark haired man in the pictures, analysing the look on his face in each one. His smile was nothing like the gorgeous one she had seen at the beach house, it seemed a little forced, like he didn't like having his picture taken at all.
"Still, I can't believe my luck running into you!" Sakura took a seat on the beige designer sofa so Mai did the same.
It had been a surprise to Mai too, she had just been buying something for dinner when she bumped into Sakura and Sarada at the store. It was only when Sakura invited her back to her house that Mai realised how close they lived, possibly only a couple of miles apart. The coincidence actually made Mai's life a little easier, she had been wanting to find a way to get Sasuke back for the present that had randomly appeared in her locked apartment all week.
"I'm pretty new to the area. I think that was the first time I'd been to that shop."
"We shop there all the time. Next time make sure you grab some of their fresh pastries, they are amazing."
Mai made a mental note to do just that, she had a bit of a thing for anything sweet.
"I will do, thank you."
Sakura leaned forward, grabbing the bottle of red wine on the coffee table and filling her glass. She gestured towards the other glass she had brought out but Mai politely declined, she wanted to keep a clear head for what she was planning.
