Chapter 12: The next move.

The aftermath of the battle between the kingdoms and the Grimm queen is too great. Kingdoms of Vale and Atlas were more fortunate than the other two kingdoms with minimal casualties and destruction. Citizens of Vale were evacuated before the Plague Carriers even reached the place and Atlas had enough firepower to take down the large Wyvern Grimm. Mistral suffered the most casualties in four kingdoms and lost most of it's land to the Grimms. Vacuo's evacuees were evacuated to Menagerie for shelter as Atlas and their military took on the enormous reptile Grimm.

Salem's domain

A man with a green trench coat with black pants and a pair of brown boots was walking with another man wearing a black tank top with green pants and a pair of black boots. The man in green had neat hair and a moustache and the other man had a beard and his right eye was a machine eye.

"Lady Salem is going to get all the service she needs, Watts. But, I can't quote a fee if I don't know the job." The bearded man spoke.

"Be patient, Kano. You will see." Watts ensured him.

"Let's just get on with it." Kano said.

The two then opened the door leading to the machine room. Inside, stood Salem and an Atlesian Knight lying on the table.

"Watts, Kano." She greeted.

"Your grace." The two spoke in a unison but Watts bowed and Kano just nodded.

"I've brought you two here today because I needed something to be done." The Grimm Queen said as she looked at the Atlesian Knight.

"Can it be replicated? Hundreds, maybe thousands of times?" Salem asked.

Watts looked at the machine with a smug smile on his face while Kano scanned the AK before chuckling.

"Nothing that can't be done, your grace. You will have something far better than this piece of junk." The scientist stated.

"Well, these things are pretty much useless when going against huntsmen." Kano said.

"And what do you propose?" The Grimm Queen asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I need the facility in Mistral. I will use it to cyberize the dead bodies there and make our own army." The leader of the Black Dragons grinned.

"And how is that any better than the regular Atlesian Knights?" Watts asked, causing Kano to grin even wider.

"With a few huntsmen brains, we can turn dead bodies into thousands, even millions of cyber soldiers with skills of huntsmen with replication. And besides, machines with no Aura or muscle mass will never be as good as real huntsmen. Dead bodies are all over the place now, so it shouldn't be a problem. As long as I own that facility, I will be able to create more." Kano explained.

"Hmmm" Salem looked down thoughtfully for a while before answering "I will contact Leonhart and tell him about the facility. Watts, you should start replicating the Atlesian Knights. Once you are done, we will finally be able to infiltrate Atlas." Salem ordered.

"As you wish, my grace." Watts bowed before the two left the room.

Scorpion's POV

Hanzo had been through many battles in his life and this had proven to be the hardest yet. He almost lost his life while fighting against Geras. If he hadn't trapped the giant in the Netherrealm, he would've been killed by that undead.

Standing on the debris of a destroyed city, the ninja looked up to see a Bullhead with the headmaster of Beacon on it.

"Hello, Scorpion." Ozpin greeted

"Ozpin." Scorpion returned the greeting.

"It appears that things have become more and more serious now." The headmaster said as he jumped out of the flying contraption and walked with the yellow ninja.

"The Queen has made her move. Our enemies are people who should not be taken lightly." Scorpion said.

"Indeed. I take it that you came to assist as soon as you saw that Grimm?" Ozpin asked.

"No. I was fighting in the woods with a Queen's pawn. He was, by all means, unkillable. Even with my hellfire." Hanzo said as he looked at the headmaster, whose eyes widened.

"I have heard of such a case. How did you defeat him?" The headmaster of Beacon asked.

"I did not. I only trapped him in the Netherrealm. He will come back after a while." Scorpion stated.

"And how long will that be?" Ozpin asked.

"Maybe four to five years, if he does not stop running. Geras probably know where the hell portal is, given that he existed for centuries. Once he is out of the Netherrealm, he will be able to get in and out freely with the teleportation Grimm. I won't be able to pull the same trick twice." Hanzo declared.

"I see. If we want to fight this war, we must find all the help we can get. Ironwood is aware of your power and he is willing to help us defeat Salem. However, he is very wary of your,... Fighting styles. He is a man of strict rules and principals so I can't convince him to be supportive of having you under our wing." The headmaster said.

"No need for any of that. I will continue my battle with or without his help. Until we see each other again, Ozma." Scorpion stated as he walked away.

"Before you go, I have a favor to ask." Ozpin called out.

"Yes?" Hanzo turned around and asked.

"When you come to the mountain under Atlas, find a certain mutual friend of ours and make peace with him. He is also aware of our situation and would gladly help us with this war." The headmaster said.

"You mean-"

"Yes, him. I assume you have been trying to avoid him." Ozpin said, causing the ninja to groan.

He did not like that man one bit. While Summer is very good at being friendly to people, he was clearly not. Especially to his clan's rival.

Summer.

Hanzo suddenly felt a pain in his heart and a lump in his throat. The more he remembered of her kindness, the more it hurted him. She was too kind-hearted to deserve such fate and so was his daughter.

What did they ever do to become victims of this hellish world?

Hanzo gripped Summer's now blood-soaked cloak as he continued walking.

Somewhere on the mountain under Atlas.

A man with a blue sleeveless vest and a black undershirt with black pants along with black armored boots was sitting on a mountain of frozen Grimm. He had a blue metal mask covering his nose and mouth and his vest's hood on. He was looking at the palm of his right hand and sighed.

"Bi Han? Why aren't you helping with this mess?" The man with the same costume (minus the mask and he had a headband instead of the hood on) looked up at the mountain and asked.

"Sorry, Kuai Liang. I just simply had a feeling that we are going to meet an unpleasant guest." The man known as Bi Han answered.

Both of them then used their crycromancy to make the ice explode, killing the Grimms that were trapped inside of the ice. The screen then slowly backed away, showing armies of hundreds of frozen Grimm exploding into pieces.

The Lin Kuei Temple

Bi Han and Kuai Liang were sitting on the opposite side of the tea table. Both of them were sipping their tea before the landline rang. Bi Han gently put his cup down before standing up.

"I will get it." He informed his younger brother as he walked towards the landline and picked it up.

"Hello, who is this?" The elder Sub Zero asked.

"This is Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy. May I talk to Grandmaster Sub Zero." The man on the line asked.

"Yes, it is I, Bi Han." Bi Han stated.

"Ah, yes. Sorry if I'm interrupting something, but we have matters to tend to." Ozpin said.

Bi Han just signalled his brother to come in and close the door.

"We are all ears." The elder Grandmaster said.

"Our enemy has made their move. We lost this battle, so preparing our next move would be a wise choice. They attacked while we were not prepared. I assume that they are going to aim at your clan since the Shirai Ryu were targeted." The headmaster of Beacon Academy declared.

"Were? Are you implying that the Shirai Ryu is no longer alive?" Kuai Liang asked.

"That's quite concerning. We will be more cautious from now on. Thank you for the warning. Is there anything else?" Bi Han questioned.

"There is. The Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu - Hanzo Hasashi is still alive. He might need your assistance for the battle against our common foe. Please, help him if you can." Headmaster Ozpin stated.

"Did he ran to save his own life? Pathetic." Bi Han spat.

"Let's not jump to the conclusion yet, brother." Kuai Liang advised his brother.

"The clan was attacked while he was not there. That implies that you two should keep an eye out for your clan members for our enemies might attack while you two are not there to protect them." Ozpin advised.

"We will be careful." The younger Sub Zero said.

Origins start

Long time ago, the Shirai Ryu clan and the Lin Kuei were allies against the immortals. One day, while the two Grandmaster of the two clans were fighting a battle against the immortals, they encountered an undead warrior that simply doesn't die no matter what they do. His name was Geras.

So, the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei came up with an idea of how to defeat him. He would freeze the giant in blue ice to keep him down while they kill his owner.

After the defeat of that immortal, Geras lost his master and turned into dust, waiting to be able to serve once again. The death of that immortal put an end to the immortal war.

But, after the war, the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei became arrogant and claimed the victory for humans, not faunuses and shunned the Shirai Ryu clan. This action turned the Shirai Ryu - Their brothers in arms into rivals for centuries. They despised each other for many generations until the day Scorpion of the Shirai Ryu met the Sub Zero brothers.

Sorry for not posting anything for the last two weeks. I've been studying for my mid-term test so I couldn't write anything at all. Thank you all for your support. I appreciate it. I gotta re-upload this chapter after realizing how short it was.
